I recently stayed at this hotel with my family and overall had a positive experience, but there are a few significant drawbacks to note.

Cons: The main issue during my stay was the construction noise on the ground, third, and fourth floors. It was quite disruptive, making it hard to relax. Additionally, there was a lot of noise from street traffic, including trikes and motorcycles, which added to the overall disturbance.

Pros: On the upside, the breakfast each morning was excellent, offering a variety of delicious options. The housekeeping staff were friendly and efficient, ensuring my room was always clean and comfortable. I also felt secure during my stay, thanks to the attentive security personnel.

In summary, while the construction noise was a downside, the quality of the breakfast and the service from the staff made my stay enjoyable. If noise isn't a concern for you, this hotel is worth considering.

This hotel is under renovation. The restaurant was closed for eat in dining, but they did deliver to the room. Breakfast was excellent every morning by the pool and buffet style. The employees’ customer service made up for the deficiency in hotel condition.

First, the bad: the property is slowly undergoing renovation. Then the good: the slowness means that there is not much noise or dust to contend with. Importantly, the swimming pool is in good shape (tho I recommend they add some paint to better distinguish the steps.) Breakfast is good. There is a nice variation in the Philippine dishes each morning, but the omelet station is always there.

This was once a very good hotel but the last 2 times I have stayed it has been under repairs and to be honest almost nothing changed since I was there 8 months ago. Had to get staff to come twice to reboot hot water and gave up on the last day so i had a cold shower. The food is quite good but a little expensive. Breakfast was OK. Rooms are big but dated and not totally clean (although that may just be the age). Hotel has airport transfer which was handy as moving luggage on trikes is hard work. While I am a regular over the last 10 yrs I will start looking at alternatives.

A very nice Hotel situated by the beach/sea, Swimming pools very clean and cleaned and controlled on a daily basis.

We initially booked for 5 nights, but stayed for 2 weeks. The hotel staff were wonderful, helpful and friendly. The hotel is clean and spacious. We had many meals in the restarurant and by the pool, all were very good and well priced.

It's a thumbs up!!!

Staff are accommodating and fast check-in and check out. Room smells good and clean. What I don't like is the lighting in the room and wifi, it's not suitable for a working guest as it's too dark to do some work and the wifi is too slow. And i'm surprised that there is no toothbrush and toothpaste but no harm done since I always have mine in my bag. But overall, it's a nice hotel and I had a relaxing experience. Definitely I'll stay again for a staycation.

One of the few options in Calbayog.

Expected more since this is supposed to be the \"premiere\" option in Calbayog. The room itself was OK, but the bathroom had baby roaches and was in need of repair. The walls were not well taken care of, the floor board area had holes in it and the hot water did not work at all.

The free breakfast was just that, free. Cold food, hot fruit and nothing at all special to speak of. Luckily the staff was friendly and did try to help me. I did not expect to have to stay here, really the free airport shuttle and last minute changes pushed me into this decision.

Stayed for ten nights staff were very kind and sweet and always helpful but on the last night I asked for a wakeup call but never happened. Also I got engaged and had my engagement dinner there about fifteen of us. We got a big cake for the staff. It would have been nice to get a upgrade to a better room Even just for one night after spending so much money there. Was thinking of having the wedding there but not sure. Its nice to be nice we always left tips and got cakes for all the staff.

We had a large room overlooking the sea and with a small balcony - ideal for smokers!. Wonderful views of not so distant islands. Very large swing pool and reasonably clean. Good breakfast and food in the restaurant was good value.

The Ciriaco Hotel probably is the best hotel in Calbayog City, but that isn't saying much. The room wasn't very clean and was in need of repainting. The curtains were stained and needed to be replaced. The refrigerator wasn't very cold and we were basically told that we just had to live with it. The sink faucet splashed water all over the counter causing a mess and the bathroom fan sounded like a jet engine. There was no fix for for either problem. The hot water was marginal at best. The free breakfast was okay but nothing special. We ate at the restaurant only one night because the food wasn't very good and it took forever to get the food even though they weren't very busy. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet in our room most of the time. The ocean/pool view from the third floor was nice. The pool was nice. The staff was helpful but I think they needed better training from the management.

Had to go to hotel lobby for WiFi most of stay. Hot water non existent most of time. Music blaring high volume evenings in dining room.Vehicle noise from hi way day and night. Fiesta 4 nights in a row across street until 3am huge speakers creating tremendous noise. Cafe staff poorly trained but friendly. Wine priced outrageously high. No concierge help available. Ironic that this is still best hotel in Calbayog.

Great hotel, Okay price

Ciriaco is a bit pricey for the area. The lowest priced rooms are 2500PHP or $55 USD, which is great for the US, but pretty expensive for Calbayog City, Philippines. And I would recommend upgrading to a \"sea view\" room because the highway is quite loud all night. Having said that, the amenities are very first world. Hot and cold from sink and shower, very nice bathrooms (CR), beds made every day without asking, Wi-Fi, cable TV and the restaurant (Café Elsa) is very good, if a little pricey. The pool is very nice and private. The bar near the pool is fun and they do barbeque out there on some nights. I will definitely stay there the next time I go, which should be in about 5 months.

Putting Things in Perspective

Ciriaco Hotel is the best hotel in Calbayog City. Based on that, the hotel is and should be rated five stars since there are no close competitors in Calbayog. IF Ciriaco were in Manila, then my ranking would be four stars due to the competition in Manila. We enjoyed our stay and we would highly recommend them along with Expedia.

Considering this is the best hotel in the area, that's not saying much. This hotel met the bare requirements for a place to rest and relax. The front desk was not too pleasant and a bit abrupt. Been to this hotel a couple of times now and its nowhere near as good as past visits, its hard to believe the ciriaco was only completed about four years ago. Maintenance seems not to be a concern at all. Also, the food served at breakfast on some mornings was shockingly bad. I did notice a couple of new hotels have appeared in calbayog, maybe that's just what the owner's of the ciriaco need to get them motivated... a bit of competition !

The staff are very helpful. The food is great. The amenities are almost like the US.
