I'll start with the positives. The property was adorable on the outside, providing a wonderful area to sit down outside. It was also very conveniently located. Where things were a bit inconvenient: the parking is very narrow and not a great option if you arrive with a larger vehicle. The staff were not very detail oriented - they didn't offer any information (I have to ask a dozen questions in order to find out what would typically be information included in the check-in process).

The hotel itself was quaint, but I will say that the hallways reminde me if something out of the Shinning. They were large, tiled and left a very institutional feeling. A lady peculiarity was that while tea was provided in the room, no coffee was. I had a good chuckle over this and would suggest that not everyone's drink of choice in the morning is tea.

The room itself was very small (I stayed in the smallest type of room) but serviceable. No desk, closet or wardrobe to speak of, but there were a few hangers to hang some clothes. The shower was small and a bit awkward, but I made do. The shower gel and body lotion smelled amazing. I got exactly one teabag, which was caffeine-free, and absolutely delicious. Two flat pillows. The nightstand was entirely taken up by some sort of amplifier? I put it on the floor to make more space. The view from my room of the town and surrounding mountains was incredible. The pool was an added bonus and was relatively warm; I enjoyed swimming laps on a crisp 9C morning. Service was attentive and polite, but not particularly friendly. Breakfast was not included and ridiculously expensive, which was an unfortunate surprise. Luckily there are several delicious bakeries within a five-minute walk which offered very satisfying breakfasts for half the price. The history of the hotel is charming.

Classy hotel bang in the centre of Bolzano

This is a lovely place to stay as a base for exploring the Dolomites and Bolzano itself .
The breakfast was excellent as was our room .
The outside bar at night is lovely for a night cap .
Pool very small and busy so didn’t get to try it out but looked nice .

The hotel is old some areas remodel and gorgeous like all the common areas. Main floor. The room was basic, shower not great and there was only two outlets in the whole room. Not worth the money in my opinion. It’s a vibe if you are into that.

This is a beautiful hotel in a very nice part of Bolzano. Easy walking to shopping and restaurants. My only complaint is that the wifi was very weak, pretty much unusable in the room but fine in the lobby and restaurant.

Beautiful hotel but room for improvement

The hotel's historic architecture was beautiful and central location wonderful but we had some issues while there. Our WIFI didn't work the whole time and we had to hotspot for our devices, upon checkin there was a rave party in the garden and very loud until 10pm. We paid for a room suitable for 2 adults and a child and after driving for 5 hours to get there the bed they gave us was broken and falling apart. They did replace the bed after several hours but we also had an issue with our bathroom window which was broken and wouldn't close so bugs got into the space. The staff was lovely but I think management is not great.

For a 4 star Hotel, my room was nothing special. Also, it was quite small and right beside the lift which I could hear. The standout for me were the grounds. The Cafe was in a garden setting and most guests took advantage of this. There was a pool and benches to sit on or grass to lay on.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The rooms were quiet and spacious (AC perfect, pillows and bed comfortable). The breakfast was top notch...highly advise paying in advance for breakfast as it is not to be missed- fresh crepes, pressed juices, assorted pastries, fruits and cheeses..truly the perfect healthy breakfast. The area itself is very walkable. Would definitely stayagain!

Pillows too soft. No coffee making facilities. Above bath shower splashed everwhere and was very narrow. Rooms aren't soundproof so can be noisy.

This was a return visit. The staff is great and the location is perfect for this city. The bar restaurant is a joy for breakfast and for early evening. The rooms are sizable and the bathrooms are equipped well. Very quick at night and beautiful views from the rooms. Especially the rooms with Mountain View’s.

Nice old building very high ceilings, comfortable, plenty of room, AC in the room but they probably do not give the controller for the thing until it gets hotter outside as with the windows open in the evening there was a very nice cooling breeze all night. Shower in this room tended to leak water all over the bathroom, lighting a bit dim, but otherwise quite nice.

The hotel looked much better in the photos. The elevator didn’t work on arrival. My room was noisy. It was supposed to be a Mountain View and it looked at a concrete wall. The cigarette smoke from the courtyard and the smell of diesel came up into the room. Wouldn’t stay there again.

I'd never been to Bolzano before and this hotel was the perfect option. Very cool, hip, nice hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Nice amenities. There's a parking garage right next to the complex. All of historic downtown is only steps away. I'd definitely stay here again.

Sehr geschmackvolle Einrichtung, tolle zentrale Lage und alles sehr sauber! Tolle Pflegeprodukte im Bad und sehr bequeme Betten. Besonders gut hat mir gefallen, dass es zum Frühstück mal nicht das üblichen Buffet gab, sondern dass dieses à la carte serviert wurde.

Wonderful Stay!

Wonderful stay at the Parkhotel Luna in Bolzano. The location is ideal for someone like myself, as I came to town on the train and walked everywhere. The hotel is located right around the corner to the shopping and restaurant center. You can also walk in 10 minutes to and from the train station, the Archaeological Museum and Funvia tram station. An excellent breakfast is available each morning in the hotel restaurant. I want to give a compliment to the waitstaff in the restaurant who were extremely polite and attentive to me, a solo English speaking traveler with poor Italian language skills! In addition, the desk attendant was so kind as to keep my luggage for me as I arrived early before check-in time and wanted to grab lunch in town without the burden of my bags. Thank you to all and I highly recommend this elegant hotel when you visit Bolzano.

Not worth the money

Airconditioning broken for our entire stay, and the hotel made no attempts to right the situation. They waved it off saying nothing could be done when we asked to move to another floor/ or room with working AC. With the heat and no air flow (very old Hotel) it was very difficult to sleep at night. Not worth the money at all. We stayed at 2 & 3 star hotels throughout our trip, and this place was somehow worse despite its \"4 star\" status.

Relaxing Comfortable Hotel

Upgraded to a lovely room with a balcony overlooking a large, shady garden. Staff were very helpful and had excellent English language. Hotel was stylish, comfortable with a good vibe. Dined at the 'shared plate' restaurant, not our understanding of shared plate dining. Fully recommend this hotel for a relaxing accommodation to return to after sight seeing.

An elegant old world experience.

This is a grand old hotel that has been impeccably maintained. Our room was spacious and elegantly appointed. True, it did not have a view from the window, but that was easily remedied the minute you stepped out: the hotel has a beautiful setting and it sits in a lovely little park. The bar was also elegant--the staff was quick to bring drinks (reasonably priced) out to the garden for a lovely twilight experience. We tried the breakfast and the lunch at the hotel restaurant. Both were first class. There is a sauna and a \"salt cave\" but it was not sauna weather. The staff was professional and welcoming.

Unexpected,Wonderful Surprise!

A Marvelous experience!.Gracious,elegant and quite charming, right in the center of the quaint city of Bolzano,which at Christmas time is magical.I happen to dislike the new trend of minimalist hotels without a “soul” so I was thrilled the minute we walked through the beautiful garden to enter this lovely place.The young man at the reception was very cordial,our room...Perfect..right size,nice furniture and decoration,lovely drapes and linens,very comfortable bed,great shower,everything immaculate,and of course...the Balcony!,with a wonderful view,which we enjoyed even in the cold weather.Unfortunately we were not at the Parkhotel Luna too long and had no time to go to the spa or have breakfast but we will return.My compliments to the staff of such a charming place.

We had only one night available to stay in Bolzano but did want to experience this very different part of Italy. This hotel was a very easy walk with luggage from the train station, no hills and good paving all way for tiller bags. Entrance to hotel is stunning, lovely garden of trees shrubs and tables!chairs we later used. Room was spacious. Window over that garden, all amenities, very clean etc Check in a breeze, lift and large gracious corridors lined with historic prints. As my wife’s birthday, this hotel was welcome surprise. We had aperative in the very comfortable bar before dining out, but had fine lunch in the hotel restaurant the next day before leaving.. the location terrific- one of the 3 funiculars to the mountains above the town just at end of street (5 Rorris each way, every 4 minutes and lovely short and long walks at top, and stunning views. Hotel helped with lost phone charger (charged phone and directed to nearby shop for replacement) and checkout at 12 but kept bags for hours more so we had effective full 2nd day. Staff terrific on everything. Right on edge of centre, stroll down the street to famous author man museum and the central historical piazzas. Had the total feel of luxury without an equivalent price tag. Wife very happy with birthday!

The Good: It is at the best location. Nice staff. Looks kind of oldish but fine. It is worth the price.
The Bad: Parking costs extra. Book with breakfast or it is going to be costly too.
The Ugly: We found two roaches middle of the night in the bathroom.

The hotel was quaint and the staff was friendly. Internal communication is poor. Three mornings we needed to leave before breakfast opened. The desk clerk promised us food to go and that never happened. Air conditioning was minimal and hot water was not available early in the morning.

The hotel is within 2 blocks of the train station and is on the edge of the old town and many restaurants. We stayed 2 nights to see Ötzi and take a tram ride to the top of the mountain - both easily walkable. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the desk staff friendly, speaking Italian, German & English. The breakfast (included) was excellent, consisting of the traditional European fare (warm croissants, yoghurt, granola, cheese, cold cuts) and also eggs and coffees. One of our party used the jacuzzi and sauna and said they were great. (No extra charge for the spa.) We would definitely stay there again. Recommend you ask for a garden view room; The gardens are just beautiful.

Lovely grounds and view. The hotel is on the edge of old town Bolzano. It has a lovely garden in front. The hotel has grown, incorporating additional buildings into its inventory of rooms. We were in an older building, nicely renovated next to old town, not the taller main hotel building. The view was lovely. Service was good, room clean. Minor marks off for bed, a bit hard, and internet, only available in restaurant and lobby. I did have intermittent service if I opened our window and my computer was on the window ledge.
Convenient access to old town. We loved Bolzano and Parkhotel Luna was a great place to stay.

Great location, kind and helpful staff, well-kept hotel with a wonderful outdoor garden area. Lovely morning breakfast with the half-board option, with delicious pastries, meats, cheeses! The spa area was lovely!

This hotel enjoys an excellent location --6 min. walk from train station and right next to center of town-- yet it is a quiet and restful spot in a park-like setting. Our room was spacious and clean, though bathroom was tight. The buffet breakfast was very good and staff was attentive. Would stay here again if I ever find myself in Bolzano in the future.

Bolzano find

Beautiful garden that many rooms overlook. American bar for those missing
a familiar martini. The rooms were spacious and elegant and the desk staff helpful. The breakfast buffet was included in room price and was excellent. There is a garage attached, but make a reservation for parking ahead of your stay.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again myself.

Not the luxury hotel we thought

The Luna hotel is great if you enjoy the details of a very old historic hotel, would like to take baths, and would like a sauna in your hotel. However for us, a mid-twenties couple, this hotel was disappointing. The decor was less than inspiring, the shower sprays water all over the floor, the furniture is ancient. We were excited about the spa in the basement which has a nice sauna and a luke-warm tub, but it didn't overcome the creepy paintings in the hallway or the mint green wall paper in our room. Overall I will not be returning.

Location is great - right at the edge of the old town. Walk to almost all shops and museums.
Beds are double twin, with stiff mattresses, not very comfortable
decor is old - maybe on purpose. they could use more efficient furniture and layout.
there are almost no amenities - no creams, only body gel/shampoo combos.
Breakfast service is not bad but always the same and a bit slow.
Dinner at the restaurant is a slow tortured affair. Not well managed. With so many restaurants in town close by there is no point to eat there.

The hotel is comfortable and the staff very helpful. The buffet breakfast was impressive and the bar and lounge facilities OK. Some of the furniture and fittings are starting to look a bit tired but everything worked all right. We had one of the slightly bigger rooms which had a nice balcony.

Fine hotel.

Great breakfast. Central location. Friendly staff. Bathroom was very clean. Room wasn't very attractive, it was completely blue from bottom to top, ceilings too. Other than that, I would recommend and stay again.

Das Hotel ist schön renoviert, hat innen aber etwas von einem Sanatorium … die kleine Zimmer-Kategorie ist wirklich mini. Was ich wirklich teuer finde, ist aber die Garage - obwohl man 50% Nachlass bekommt, ist das wirklich noch teuer - absolut nicht nötig, das darf nicht noch soviel on top kosten, da sollte man sich was überlegen. Man ist ok Bozen, nicht in Paris …
Zum Pool - der ist neu und toll, man muss aber den „Handtuch-Reservierern“ deutlich machen, dass man das nicht tut - schon gar nicht, wenn permanent Leute auf der Suche nach freien Liegen sind, weil einfach nicht für alle Gäste genug Platz ist. Das ist super mühsam und eigentlich auch ärgerlich.

Sehr positiv: Service generell und speziell bei Dinner und Frühstück top!

Het hotel was een totaal beleving. Van goed ontbijtbuffet tot heerlijk avond restaurant, aangenaam zwembad en opties voor het deelnemen aan yoga/pilates lessen. Alles steeds mooi verzorgd (zwembad omgeving, terras buiten en bar binnen, sportomgeving).
Een heerlijke plek om een paar dagen te verblijven en niet uitgekeken te geraken op de accommodatie.
Enige minpunt is wanneer het ontbijt binnen moet en het hotel volboekt is, er niet genoeg plek is. Verschillende gasten moesten 10 a 20 minuten wachten om te komen ontbijten omdat het restaurant vol zat.
