First off, when we got in room. No TV remote. Went to call front desk, no phone in room! Then he came and brought us a remote. But could only watch news. Then getting ready for dinner looking for towels, not any in room and not even a place for them. There was a used bar of soap next to sink..not know who used it. No shampoo, but a used tube of tooth paste. No extra towel paper, again no towels for whirlpool. No coffee pot. They advertise great breakfast 12 cup coffeemaker in lobby with just cereal, no fruit, no pastries.
So no clock, no phone, no coffee pot. No towels. Will not ever be going back!@

The room was dirty and rundown, everywhere we looked there were signs of neglect. The misleading photos on the website are likely of one or two rooms that have been renovated on the entire property. The pool is in a separate shed-like building that was only accessible through the parking lot.

Check in. I was told i to pay an additional fee to cover taxes. Also an additional $60 fee for incidental. I checked in at 630pm The room wasnt clean and ready. I had to wait 30 minutes for room. Extra fees that i wasnt informed of at time of booking. 630 pm i shouldtn have to wait for a room to get cleaned. Very disappointed.

Staff was great! I showed up super early to check in because we lost power at Trollhaugen. Even in the midst of a renovation, and a panic of other guests, they were able to get me a room within 20 mins to accommodate me!

If I’m ever back to Trollhaugen, this is where I’ll be staying. Anthony was great!

No staff. One person there. He was trying to do everything. Nice person, but it was so unorganized. The entire place was so dirty, no remote for TV, toilet didn’t flush. There was no continental breakfast. So disappointed. We got 2 rooms one as a gift for son and daughter in law to celebrate his bday. Supposed to be a sweet and jacuzzi tub. Just gross. Filthy tub and sheets.

this hotel is not one that I would recommend to any one at this time they are going thru a change in ownership the quality of the hotel is poor! We were only there for one night and they could not find my reservation in the system, so they gave us a room that was not totally clean or ready for a guest to stay in. We found trash in the room there wasn't any toiletries in the bathroom or shower our tv remote that operated our tv the manager came and gave us a different remote and worked on getting to work but needed to take a break never to return we tried to get it to work on our own but was not able to get to work so we gave up and called it a night. We enquired about the problem and the manager came and brought a different remote that gave us options but it still didn't work and never returned to our room to see if it worked so we called it a night! The next morning we walked to the lobby and there wasn't any fresh coffee or really any thing for breakfast other than cereal or protein bars not to happy with our choices! They couldn't print out a receipt for our stay either. Also it was very difficult to find because the name of the hotel has changed ! how ever the staff was very friendly and very helpful when asked and tried to make our stay a good stay!

This property is under new management. Anthony was amazing. He went above and beyond to take care of us and make our stay enjoyable. Rooms were clean, pool was warm, and our requests were taken care of. There is a restaurant next door with THE best cheese curds and lots of trails and activities nearby. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was changed hands recently and the hotel is short of staff and the only staff on duty was Anthony. He was very helpful and switched our room at my request (we preferred a room on second floor). Also I asked if he can give us an extra blanket, he took a warm blanket out of laundry room and gave it to us right away. I am very happy with his service.

I was disappointed I rented a room again. There were pubic hairs and head hairs in the tub, never had hot water in the sink. Saturday morning I went down for breakfast, three pieces of white bread in a clear container and one packet of instant coffee. Then on Sunday, my guests went swimming, and there was hair and stuff in the pool water and the slime underneath the lip of the pool water was falling into the water. It was a very unpleasant experience and if I could give it a -10, I would. I will never stay there again!!

Our whole experience was bad here that we didn't even stay. First when you walk into the place the front desk person is behind glass and they were dress in an old t-shirt. Then our key didn't work (on an outside door)so I had to get another one. This key didn't work either. The front desk person went in from the hall door. The outside door was deadbolted. When opening the door you had to push on it with your body because the old paint made the door stick. When we got in the place smelled of mold, the front glass window was cracked, the sheets were stained yellow and their was black mold or coloring on the pillow. When I went to the front desk to complain the person was no where to be found. I even dinged the front desk bell. I think he went to bed. We left and went to a different hotel a half hour away. Also the continental breakfast area looked disgusting.

Exterior is run down with no signs. We thought it was closed. Check in was ok, but the lobby and hallways smelled stale and old. Our room smelled even worst, like pet urine making it hard to breath. We went back to the front desk, explained the room was unexceptible gave our room keys back and left. We were unable to find lodging in the area and ended up driving home cutting our weekend short. Exstreamly disappointing

This is property is in a good location and of course the price was good however, poorly maintained. Floor was spongy around toilet, pillow cases stained and fabric quite thin and stained. Some cleaning issues around balcony door, screen in disrepair. Security deposit required, posted to our credit card. It was removed. Never have we had that. Would we stay there again? No.

Such a beautiful location close to the bike trail. Someone with experience in customer service should buy this place and fix it up. They charged us a fee for early check-in - the place was nearly vacant that weekend. They add a security deposit in case guests damage anything - the place has been cleaned or updated in 30 years so not sure there was anything to damage. Staff and ownership is uninterested.

We didn’t get to stay. The hotel lost my reservation even when I showed them the confirmation and paid in full receipt. This was after calling earlier in the day, confirming the room and requesting early check in. They made me wait for a long time without any answers. The lobby was dingy, there is no cell service, and the place looks very very run down overall. Did not feel clean nor safe. When we called to ask for a refund 8 hours later, they claimed they found our reservation and would not give us anything. Do not book here you will regret it.

The hotel was old and broken down. For example, our bathroom had parts of old, broken towel racks on the wall, a stained shower, a metal kleenex holder that fell off the wall and was sitting on the counter. I just tried to sleep and get out.
I also called in advance to shorten my stay within the window to make changes. They didn't give any receipt (email or paper) and then charged for the full stay. When I pointed out the error, they refused to reimburse the unused portion. Fortunately I had trip insurance because it was very sketchy.

Did my reservation on line. At check in I was charged another $60 for \"incidentals\". Asked if this was a security or damage deposit and was told no and that I would get the $60 refunded at checkout. The place was noisy and loud all night with people coming and going. The parking lot is full of potholes deep enough to cause damage to a vehicle or for an adult or child to fall into causing injury. At checkout I asked for my credit card to be credited the $60 and was denied. Innkeeper said I would see the credit on my statement in 5-6 business days. Tried to get a straight answer on what the fee was for but due to understanding each others language and the unbelievable arrogance of the Innkeeper who felt they could talk down to me, I left without a clear understanding. I would never stay at this location again and would rather sleep in my car. Would not recommend this place as a lodging choice for anyone.

The room was rundown, far more than I expected. There were gnats everywhere, the sheets constantly felt damp, and the tv didn’t even work. I chose not to make mention to the staff, seeing as I’ve seen the reviews from here beforehand..

The staff themselves were kind, very polite and friendly. I had an okay time, but the constant feeling of being both slightly damp and having some of the floors / walls partially falling apart didn’t make up for it. Spent my time outside as much as I could..

Bedspreads are brown/ blue. Not a true continental breakfast. Coffee and juice only from machines. Had 1 set of towels for 2 people. Grugingly gave up additional bath and hand towel. Room phones do not call between rooms. One of our rooms, the drains (sink & tub) were barely functioning. Cheap pricing for a reason.

basic room was clean and comfortable. When they say breakfast is from 6 am to 9am they mean it. Not even coffee after 9 am even on sunday. Breakfast was very limited and when it was gone it was gone. Check out time 11 am. dont wait too long they were waiting behind the door for us to be out. otherwise very convenient to Wi side of Instate state park. Overall if all your doning is sleeping its an older but adequate building. Bath and shower were clean an good pressure in shower. Staff was a bit standoff ish but basically friendly.

I had a room with 2 double beds reserved. We were running late to our concert in Somerset so we just checked in quick (as they have no check ins after 9pm) and went right to the venue without looking at the room. We returned around 12:30am, we were shocked to see only 1 king size bed and a chair. There were 4 of us! By this time no one was answering. So we made due. The toilet seat was broken and the AC was crap. It smelled musty without any airflow. The breakfast was cereal and milk and they had 1 bagel left. I did get ahold of the people there and he said that there was no way i didnt get the room i reserved even though i had my reservation in front of me to show him... he wouldn’t come out from his home (apartment?) on the other side of the front desk area. He told me I had to take that up with the company i booked it through. There was another lady in the lobby that overheard me talking on the front phone with them and proceeded to tell me all of the issues they have had for the 2 nights they were there. It was then that this owner or whoever came out of his home and out the door into the lobby. He proceeded to scream at the lady and tell her to stop \"causing trouble\" or he would have to call the cops. She was simply telling me he issues in a calm way. These people didnt even bother to check my reservation from my phone or offer anything as simple as an apology. I will NEVER EVER go to another one again. I will scream this horrible service from the rooftop for all to hear
