Modern sleek hotel in a nature park with great walking and views of the Atlantic in the far distance. Very private and great place to relax. We did not use spa or gym. A few concerns: Road in is rough in places. Lots of small things needed work - doors not sliding closed properly, hot water not there, random alarms. Biggest disappointment was the so-called gourmet dining room with over-priced skimpy meals. Breakfast were excellent though.

We stayed a week at the hotel. The staff were very friendly, and the room and other facilities and breakfast buffet were brilliant. What could improve a longer stay (like ours) is more food options for the evening (more casual dining options too), clearer roles for staff serving in the restaurant (some confusion there), and a heated outside spa pool. Other than that - really great!

The staff were so friendly, responsive and kind. We cannot say enough about them. One of our crew dropped their passport in a small town on one of the days we were out and about - creating a very stressful experience. The people all around us during this event were so concerned and helped us to call local police departments to locate it. We were so grateful.
While extremely elegant, the vibe is welcoming. The rooms are absolutely perfect. My suggestions are to improve and diversify the culinary offerings. The bar is elegant and drinks were great. Breakfast is perfection but dinner and lunch were underwhelming (nowhere near as good or bountiful as any food we experienced in Lisbon or Porto) and overpriced. Coffee in the rooms was not adequate for our American coffee addictions and no milk was provided. These were minor issues when compared against the rest.
We look forward to returning!

Stunning location in a National Park for this interestingly designed hotel, rooms are comfortable and well furnished. All the negatives are about the staff, the front desk staff were excellent but housekeeping was terrible (less than 15 minutes to service a room in a 5 star hotel) with crumbs and drink rings left untouched, the outside retrace left dirty the list could just go on. The pool area is nice but again let down by the staff who hang around at the poolside restaurant, if you go and ask for a menu they give you one but you then have to go back to order as they stay inside, sunbeds are left untouched when guests leave and other guests have to remove towels etc and get new themselves. At breakfast it is difficult to get staffs attention and we food the hot food orders often arrived cold. There is clearly a staff issue at this hotel, poorly trained poorly led and unhappy, again with the exception of the front desk team all the staff looked glum, didn’t interact with guests and rarely smiled, this could easily be a 5 star hotel but until the staff problems are sorted it won’t be.

Beautiful resort set away in large grounds

This is a new hotel set in a calm, out of the way natural area in hundreds of hectares of land. It’s beautiful and the rooms are large and well appointed. There’s a stunning infinity pool with underwater seats and a far away view of the ocean.
This could be a wonderful SPA hotel where to unwind, rest, hike etc. Indeed we were told there’s a plan to create a dedicated, adults only yoga/spa area, as the current one is pretty, but too small. The hotel will definitely benefit by having a children playground and or adult-only areas, to make it more serene for those who do not travel with children and seek to enjoy the natural, quiet beauty of the area.
There’s the lost stunning coastline with up he, dramatic cliffs and rock formations about 20 mins drive away, not too be missed.

Beautifully designed and elegant hotel. Very peaceful location which must be just as beautiful in the winter.
Yoga was ok, not great. Other activity advertised (guided biking tour) was not available during my stay.
Restaurant service was very disappointing (definitely not 5 star). Restaurant staff needs training.

Stunning property located in a 220 hectare nature park on the beautiful Vincentine Coast of the Algarve. You have miles of hiking and mountainabike trails just steps from your room.

The grounds are truly beautiful, staff is amazing and the food is very good, as are the recommendations for restaurants or activities in the area. They really aim to show you the best of local scenery and produce of the Algarve.

Do keep in mind the hotel is very secluded, getting there or to any of the stunning beaches or restaurants in the area often involves a 15-25 minute drive on dirt roads full of potholes, so be prepared for an adventure!

We loved our stay at Praia do Canal, where else could you find such an enormous garden in your backyard to play. A big thank you to Bruno, Melisa and the rest of the amazing staff for making us feel at home. We hope to come back.

I cannot say enough great things about this place. We stumbled upon it - and are so grateful. The decor of the entire resort is absolutely perfect. So serene, peaceful and just a true oasis in the middle of an incredible country. Staff was outstanding - friendly, helpful, accommodating. The breakfast was delicious. The spa, the pool - literally one of the best places I have ever stayed!

Fantastic Resort

Beautiful resort in a rural, quiet setting. The design is gorgeous and every detail has been considered. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed. Small details like a towel warming rack and plenty of hooks for towels make the spacious bathroom even nicer. The pool and spa are beautifully designed to incorporate the natural surroundings. The food is very good and the included breakfast is very substantial. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. Overall this is a spectacular place.

Worst experience I’ve ever encountered at a hotel. Dead bolt did not work and the hotel gave someone access to my room around 11pm. They came in, turned on all the lights and started screaming when I popped out of the bed. No explanation, just slammed door and left all the lights on. Needless to say I did not sleep because I did not feel safe at the hotel. No explanation was provided until I complained to the front desk the next morning. Their flippant response, “Oops! We made a mistake and gave someone a key to your room.”

The Praia do Canal Nature Resort is such a unique hotel and one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. It's located in a beautiful area of Portugal, near several beaches that are much less crowded than those in the Algarve. The hotel itself is beautifully designed with comfortable rooms and an amazing lounge/lobby area. The restaurant (food cocktails) were comparable to some of the best restaurants we've been to.
What really set this hotel apart and made our stay GREAT was the staff! They had great energy and were proud to offer an amazing hotel experience.
We couldn't have been happier and would strongly suggest others to book here as well.

Unbelievably nice hotel

It’s the third time we came to this hotel. It’s located in the Costa Vicentina of Portugal, a strip of land with the most incredibly beautiful, unspoiled beaches. The hotel is a 5* facility, new (2y old) with great rooms and a tranquility that is unsurpassing.

Piscine apaisante nous n’avons pas pu tester le spa (à réserver). Le restaurant pourrait améliorer la quantité des plats servis.

A very cozy hotel in the quasi-virgin coast

We are a customer returning to the hotel which is a good indication that we really like it. The place is magic, breeding calmness wherever you are. Its proximity to multiple virtually virgin beaches is perfect to hop on and off and chill in gold sand beaches with a constant ocean breeze and cool waves.
This year we had the novelty of a new restaurant which we have visited twice. Once the food was great, but the second time we have noticed some inconsistency in too many details. Service was not at the right level and the prep of the food was just ok (something for mgmt to put a close eye on. This experience simply didn’t match the overall great hotel this is.

Super schöne Hotelanlage & nettes Personal. Gibt eigentlich nichts auszusetzen. Nur eine Sache: kritisch möchte ich erwähnen, dass wir zwar ohne Reservierung auf einen Tisch für das Dinner warteten; die Kellerin sagte uns, dass sie in einer Sekunde bei uns wäre, nach 25 Minuten gingen wir dann jedoch, weil sie wohl auf uns vergessen hatte, obwohl sie ständig an uns vorbeiging.

Väldigt fin miljö, omgivningen och naturreservatet skapar en rofylld plats.

Rummen fräscha, maten god!

Servicen har en del att önska och där både missar av beställningar skedde, bortglömda bokningar för middag och även miss av att leverera tapas till våra fördrinkar. Dock ingen kompensation för detta utan ett vänligt ursäkta.

Dock skuggar inte det allt för mycket då miljön och arkitekturen är väldigt imponerande.

Unser Zimmer war alle male ganz hinten was hiesst, bei jedem Wetter einen langen Weg zum Restaurant gehen. Wir waren im Restaurant essen, es war sehr sehr teuer und entspricht nicht dem Preis- Leistungsniveau gegenüber dem Hotel.

Die Unterkunft ist einmalig gelegen - abseits vom Massentourismus an der Algarve, mitten in der Natur. Das Personal ist außergewöhnlich freundlich. Es werden verschiedene Aktivitäten vor Ort angeboten sowie eine Wanderkarte mit Routen in der Umgebung. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen und konnten super gut abschalten.

Lindo e confortável espaço!

O local fica fora do centro, portanto bem silencioso e agradável. As instalações são de bom gosto. A equipe é super prestativa e simpática. O café é bem organizado e há boas opções, apenas acho que poderia ter mais opções para plant based diet, ou ao menos ser mais informativo. Enfim, haver mais cuidado. Entretanto, comi bem (há leite vegetal para as bebidas quentes, frutas de qualidade e frutos secos).
O quarto é espaçoso e há uma varanda com uma bela vista. O ginásio é pequeno, porém bem equipado (há uma máquina para membros inferiores e duas máquinas para superiores que funcionam bem, só não há peso livre muito pesado). O spa é bom. Porém funciona apenas com hora marcada, o que apesar de limitar torna mais organizado.

Virkelig flot indretning både generelt og på værelset. Lækker morgenmad. Gode gåture fra hotellet.
Dampbad virker ikke i SPA’en. Indendørs pool måtte gerne være varmere. Træningsmaskine i fitness virker ikke. Helt latterlig pris at betale 6€ pr pers for kuvert med et lille stykke brød til frokost.

Lovely place

This place is amazing, visited both on high and low season. Beautiful place surrounded by nature, we had amazing star sky from the balcony and could hear the sea. It was a nice and cozy stay even in the winter. The breakfast is amazing. Spa is great even if the Turkish sauna was broken both days and the indoors pool was cold, so there’s bit room for improvement. But the other saunas and cold bath were great.
