Good residence for the family. We booked the top of the range suite, had 2 bathrooms. All the conveniences were there except a washing machine but fine for a stay less than a week.
The property was very clean when we checked in and we returned it in a fairly clean state.
The spa is good and the putside hot tub with views of the mountains is spectacular.

We had a lovely stay in the 2 bedroom apartment on the top floor of the residence. We picked a Mountain View and it was a stunning view over the mountains! The sofa bed in the apartment was very large and comfortable and so were the beds. Very bijou kitchen but was fine if not cooking much. Could have benefited from an oven. Had a Spar supermarket below but limited choice and quite expensive. Could have helped if the residence had its own bar and restaurant. Not sure it felt like a five star rated hotel.
The area itself in April wasn’t brilliant for ski in ski out but I expect much better in peak season. We managed to ski out but not back as this lift was closed. The free shuttle bus was on time but was absolutely crammed full of people, even to the point you couldn’t get on when returning from the slopes to the hotel. A good 10-15 min walk into the main area of Flaine. We found it to be a little disappointing for places to eat or bars to have a drink. We ended up at the Rockypop hotel every evening for a drink. Not great for Apre ski if that is what you are after Or gourmet dining. Very limited choice.

Unacceptable for a 5 star property

Dear Pierre & Vacances Customer Service,
I am writing to reiterate my disappointment and provide further crucial details regarding my recent stay at Résidence premium Les Terrasses d'Hélios from March 17th to March 21st, 2025. This was my third reservation at this hotel, as I have always appreciated the Grand Massif area and have had positive experiences at your establishment in the past. My booking was made in advance.
Upon arrival on March 17th, I was informed that my room was not yet ready, which I understood. However, upon entering the apartment after receiving notification, I was immediately struck by a very strong and unpleasant odor of fish and other food emanating from the lounge area.
Further inspection revealed a running dishwasher containing dirty cutlery and plates. Additionally, the cutlery and plates in the kitchen cupboards also had a noticeable smell of fish. The pervasive odor in the lounge was so severe that it rendered the space unusable. Throughout my four-night stay, I was unable to sit or relax in the lounge due to the offensive smell.
I reported this issue to the reception desk and spoke with the manager. While he did offer an alternative room the following evening (my third day), this room was located on the second floor, lacked the pleasant views I had in my original room, and was smaller in size. For these reasons, and due to the disruption of moving so late into my short break, I declined this offer.

Beautiful setting, quiet, ski in/ski out access was great. Wonderful facilities to enjoy after a day on the slopes - pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam. Handy on site shop which had everything we needed for a week of self catering. Friendly and helpful staff.

We stayed here with our 1 and 3 year old kids. The apartment was immaculate and the facilities were ideal for us with 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms. There is a play area in the foyer and they provided us with a \"baby pack\", which consisted of a cot, high chair and changing mat. I would strongly recommend this place and would happily return with our 2 in future years.

Flaine is not a particularly attractive resort but the skiing is very good and the Residence where we stayed was comfortable and well located. Ski shop, local supermarket, parking and restaurant all within the complex. Ski in/out. Would recommend.

Skiing holiday with young children

Brilliant accommodation for ski in ski out holiday. Great facilities. Spar shop and ski hire and restaurant underneath hotel. Lovely kids area and fireplace in the reception. Apartments well equipped and modern. Wonderful swimming pool with sauna, steam room and outdoor jacuzzi. Will definitely return.

The views are beautiful, the room is well equipped and clean.
The hotel staff is attentive and responsive quickly.
Note, less suitable for star trips that arrival and departure to the hotel takes about 25 minutes towards.

Great ski accommodation and service. Everything you need for an easy ski trip. Close to Geneva, great ski in ski out location for all levels of skier. Comfortable accommodation with great ski hire shop on site. Friendly and helpful staff allowed us to keep our room until 4pm on last day so that we could ski all day and get changed on comfort. Great hotel for a family skiing holiday. Location is good for ski in and ski out. The room sizes are large with plenty of space in the living areas. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and eating in. The service is efficient. There is a very expensive grocery shop on site. The ski lockers and changing room is very good too. The WiFi wasn't great. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant.

We had an absolutely amazing stay and look forward to going again next year. The apartment was very well equipped for a family of 4. The kitchen was great (no oven but good stove top and microwave), the two bathrooms were great, and the beds were very comfortable.

Easy ski out to the hills and ski back if you are comfortable with a button lift. I am on a snowboard so I took the bus from where the button lift is and would get back about the same time as the kids, who ski.

We also really enjoyed the pool, sauna, steam room, and hot tub facilities. The kids would spend an hour or two there each day.

The only area I felt they could improve on was that they have a great service where you can order baguette and croissants and they were available for you at the front desk in the morning. However, the croissants were stale both times we ordered them. There is a Spar in the building that had fresher croissants than the ordered ones.

The jacuzzi outside had ice on the floor and was a hazard, had to be very careful to walk to it...
There is a pizza menu stuck down at reception which the receptionist didn’t know what restaurant it was for.
The ground by the ski room was very icy and slippery

This property worked very well for our first family ski holiday with our two children (5 and 7). Everything you need is there ( ski hire shop, ESF ski school, Spar shop, cafe and Restaurant). There is also a very frequent bus to take you down to Flaine which takes 10mins. A few restaurants do home deliveries for dinners and the spar shop is well stocked so eating in is hassle free. We stayed in a cosy 1 bedroom apartment with a lovely alpine feel. The apartment was clean, modern, warm and well kitted. Not overly roomy for a family of 4 since the lounge was taken up by the sofa bed but sufficient for the time spent in. 2 TVs with international channels and free Wifi. Pool area was very good, perfect depth for my kids to bounce around without needing us so we could just relax by the side of the pool or go into the sauna/steam room. The pool could do with being a few degrees warmer and definitely the outdoor jacuzzi needs the temperature up!

Very inexpensive mountain lodge on top of the high mountains with great restaurant nearby. It takes 30 mins to go down the mountain but enjoyed every bit of this beautiful scenic drive! Awsome experiences back and forth!

Best hotel in town

Loved our stay at Helios. Great 3 room apartment with a view. Spar was well stocked and although more expensive given location it actually saved money since we could easily buy ingredients for simple meals indoors rather than eat out every night...and to be honest there are only 3/4 decent restaurants. Excellent ski in ski out (although would not suit a beginner). Some nice walks nearby as well. Staff friendly. Best burgers (inc veggie) where at the American bar/restaurant in the Forum level near the ESF office.

Lovely ski in ski out... but SPA is ruled by kids

We loved this place, it was ski in and ski out, staff were lovely and communicative and helped where they could. We also loved the on demand shuttle service as walking to Flaine from here would just not work. The only reason I cannot give this place full marks is because of the fact that the SPA is really ruled by the kids and essentially unusable by adults without small children they want to let run wild without supervision. I have never had a problem with children in a SPA before, but here the place was simply chaos: too noisy and an average of 30 kids jumping in and out of the pool at any one time, making actual swimming impossible. The noise traveled into the sauna and hamam areas, which was often disrupted by kids opening the doors without coming in, letting the heat escape. Perhaps management could introduce a pool manager to monitor what is going on in there and keep both children and adults happy with going there?

Even though the hotel was full, service was excellent. Shuttle service in to main part of resort operational until midnight was essential and generally worked well (except one slight unfortunate mix up on our last evening). Ski in and ski out was perfect and a very well stocked supermarket was on the doorstep. A bar in the hotel would have been an improvement, but it appeared most staying their were fully self catering (with a lot of relatively young families) and therefore the bar may not have been well supported - it meant our group jumped the shuttle in to town in the evening. Apres ski drinks were more of a problem.

The staff were lovely and helpful and friendly. The location was an easy and pleasant ski in-ski out. Our apartment was reasonably spacious by Pierre et Vacance standards although the second bedroom door wouldn’t close because furniture was in the way! Facilities in the building were good especially the ski room and lockers.

Rooms very small. Luggage store inadequate. Queues at checkin. Even had to queue 5 minutes just to return keys on checkout after previously settling the bill.
Shouldn't have to put the rubbish out and collect bedding and towels before leaving room when paying thousands of pounds for a 1 week stay!
On the plus side, pool area nice during the day, but even that was chaos and unbearably noisy in the evenings.

Lovely hotel, nice view for an extra cost, equipped with everything you need for a holiday. Love the little welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar and washing up essentials, ski out was fab but takes a while to get to main flaine where the slopes are and is flat in places. ski in was a challenge with the button lift but you take the chair lift back up the mountain for a lovely ski back down. Location was ideal for some peace and quiet away from town. hotel was amazing, pool was lovely, outside jacuzzi was nice but you get cold going to and from it. Shop on site as well as ski hire, but expensive.. if you get the bus into town it’s cheaper to hire. Bus is regular and doesn’t take long as all.

Ok, but not convenient for families/beginners

With young children new to skiing, the ski-in/out was not an option for us. the alternative would have been the ESF ski school next door, if it had been open. As we visited 17/12 to 22/12, which is considered off-peak, we had to rely on a bus from the main road, running every 30mns, to take us to Flaine Foret where beginners can start. Had I known that, I would not have booked this residence, as it was very inconvenient. The staff is friendly but could not provide ski pass, as \"not trained how to do it\". We were given a flat facing the road, as it would take another 130€ to be offered a view of the valley... The free WIFI connection dropped for 24h, meaning no internet, no TV. Besides all this, the residence is nice and comfortable, and the swimming pool is enjoyable.

I strongly recommend for families with children

We really enjoyed our stay. We are family of four, stayed in two bedroom apartment. The facilities are new, well maintained, clean. You have a nice kitchenette so you can perfectly cook. Ski in ski out. Supermarket on the premises. Well heated pool, comfortable for children. Enjoyed our meal in the restaraunt - not the usual cheesy junk which is often served but a real descent meal. Ski lessons for kids from the door of the hotel. Even Santa à la carte. Bottom line - perfect for traveling with kids.

Wonderful ski in ski out accommodation

For a family of four with two small children this was the perfect accommodation. Shop, restaurant and ski shop all on hand. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodated our early check in so we could ski in the afternoon and late check out so we skied the morning we left. Loved the ski in ski out position, the well equipped apartment with English channels, the free shuttle into town and especially the lovely warm pool and hot tub in the snow. Will definitely be back.

These apartments have everything you need to make your ski holiday enjoyable. Rooms are clean and very well equipped. We were in the 2 bedroom apartment which can sleep 4-6ppl but I would say the lounge/sofa area is way too small of it were fully occupied. Very comfortable beds and great bathrooms:showers.

Ski in/out is fantastic, really does make a huge difference. The spa area was another bonus, very clean and enjoyable after a hard day of skiing.

This was a first time skiing holiday for us. This hotel has all the convince for us a supermarket and ski shop and spa. Although there was no snow when we got there and could not make use of the ski in and ski out. There was a courtesy bus which did take you from the hotel to the slope and the local free bus is not far away. Hotel provides a starter back would suggest that you buy or take a few more dishwasher tabs. The staff were helpful and informative.

Location would have been good if the ski runs were open, but since week we went the snow conditions were lacking, so no access to ski-to-door facility. Hence travel to-fro by local buses were a real disappointment.
Paid Wifi for full service for 25 euros were well worth it for the movie streaming that we used it for.
Lack of an mini-oven was another shortfall....only had a microwave/grill.

Nice hotel, in a very nice place

The apartments are spacious and very well furnished. The location is great and there is a supermarket downstair and a good restaurant. You can easily take a bus to go to Flaine Forum where there are plenty of activities available.
The spa is nice, although the jacuzzi is too small for the premises.
I really recommend this place if you are looking for a better hotel standard during your stay in Flaine.

A great all-in-one resort for families, with new facilities, swimming pool and sauna/steam, ski in-out, grocery shop and restaurant in a stunning location. The apartments were well equipped but a bit smaller than comfortable for the maximum occupancy noted. Jacuzzi was far too small for comfortable apres-ski soaking. Overall, though, very happy with this choice and would return

A good apartment and an enjoyable stay. We eat breakfast in but had other meals out. The kitchen is however well equipped and it would be easy to make simple meals in it.

If you don't fancy the ski in/out option, it is about a 5 min bus ride/taxi ride from the ski lifts and the hotel has a helpful free shuttle service which you can use in the evenings.

The hotel ski shop closes in the afternoon so bear this in mind if you are intending to pick up skis after 1 pm. There is another ski shop which you can walk to and which will collect the skis from the hotel at the end of your stay.

The room has a Nespresso coffee machine so you may wish to pack coffee for this. If not you can buy individual capsule from reception for 70c.
