Great quiet place to base your stay on Santorini

We had a great stay good bus service to towns
Nice quiet location close to other beaches
The beds need to be upgraded as the twin was lumpy and the double was sunken

I felt very safe at Akrotiri Hotel. The manager was very personable and helpful. He ensured we understood how to get around the area safely. We shared our itinerary and he advised us how to get to our destination safely and cost effectively. The staff who served breakfast was excellent. They were very pleasant and tried to meet our needs for changes. The environment was clean. We could feel the love and care at the hotel. The scenery was very beautiful. We would highly recommend this hotel for visitors who need a family setting.

I loved that we had a nice clean room. The big bath towels were a bonus too. The staff was very nice and friendly. The service was great! The views were amazing. I loved that breakfast was included and served as soon as we sat down. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a great stay!

First of all when we arrived they gave us a room on the top and that was tiring because they don’t have a lift that I probably missed when I was booking. Secondly the room was so smelly that it was unbearable for us to get through the night. The only plus point was the view and sea side. Other than that it was outlying and there was nothing to do in the evening. That is the reason I had to book another hotel and left the next day

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Hotel Akrotiri! The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The room was amazing - clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The property is gorgeous and the restaurant had great food. The breakfast was also incredible. A short walk up the hill will bring you to the bus stop which is easy to navigate, and you can also access Red Beach. The catamaran that we took to see the White Beach, Red Beach, and Black Beach was a two minute walk from the hotel. There are taverns to eat at within a short walking distance. Everything was outstanding and I can’t wait to come back!

Stunning view, peaceful hotel with cosy room

Excellent family-run hotel with friendly staff. We arranged airport pick-up in advance by email and got an immediate confirmation response. The flight arrived in Santorini late but our pick-up was waiting, and we were later greeted personally by hotel staff member Zozef (reception desk was closed). He gave us valuable information about places to eat at that time of night and for the next day, things to do in the area and carried our bag to our room.

The room was lovely - neat and clean and perfect for us (grandson and daughter).the view from the room when the door opened in the morning was amazing. Beds were comfortable (double and single in the triple room). We had deckchairs and a patio set for our use outside our room, as well as access to communal ones / hanging pods.

Breakfast was good (portion sizes and options) and we ate on the terrace looking out at sea. The sun beds on the beach provided a relaxing, peaceful place to unwind.

The restaurants were a few minutes walk away along the shore, as we’re the boats to take visitors to red / white / black beach (separate charge).

The owner, Mathieus, and his family were friendly and accommodating and recommended the boat ride, as well as visiting Akrotiri ruins - useful as our time was short.

The hotel has its own place to buy food / ice-cream / coffee etc. and this is open to hotel guests as well as members of the public

I would recommend this hotel for a quiet getaway.

Found a slice of heaven

Wow this family does a GREAT job. Breakfast was crazy good. They suggested a boat excursion (we paid 70 less than some other couple that set up online). The staff was beyond amazing! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Some might want to be where the action is on the island (Oia or Fira) but this was a great respite from the crush of people in the towns.

If you are looking for a quiet place in Santorini doesn’t get better than this one!! Great breakfast included, Mathias the owner goes out of his way to help you with tips for your stay. A local bus stops right in front of the hotel, buses are clean and have AC. Hotel is right next to archeological site. Walk to a lot of awesome restaurants (taverns).

Not bad if you prefer staying near beach but most to do things in Santorini are away from beach and far off from this place. A bus/car ride is very long to reach here.

Also, rooms were not very clean. Some bugs and ants in the room.

No WiFi in rooms.

Wonderful view, isolated, classical feel

Had terrible experience with air conditioner. Unbearable in hot weather. Could not sleep at all.
Very isolated. Uncomfortable if you do not have your own vehicle. But if you do - this can be the best place in santorini. Very very beautiful. Near to the famed red and White beach. Ranches nearby. Romantic. Can spend days sun bathing in your porch

Lovely hotel in a stunning location.

Beautiful little hotel in a lovely location. Very accessible to the rest of the island due to the bus stop right outside the hotel. Staff were lovely and always helpful. Went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. If i ever went on holiday the same place twice i would definitely go back again. Had a wonderful holiday.

Best hotel in Akrotiri.

This hotel is awesome. It’s right on the ocean, a two minute walk to the Akrotiri ruins, and 10 minute walk to red beach. Several excellent restaurants within a 2 minute walk. Breakfast included. It’s a family run hotel and their passion for success shows. We originally only planned on staying one night but like it so much we stayed another night. It’s really quite, the perfect place to just sit near the beach and listen to the ocean.

We traveled to Greece for the first time, and stayed at this hotel at Santorini. As a family, we all loved it. It has a great location right in front of the sea, with private beach. The rooms were big, clean and comfy, and most importantly the hotel had such friendly staffs. The breakfast had so much variety, and had traditional Greek breakfast too. The owner would tell us all the info on where to visit/avoid in Santorini. It is also very accessible to Fira, as it has a bus stop right beside the hotel. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Santorini.

A lovely calm atmosphere in a quiet location. Just a few minutes walk from the amazing 4000 year old archaeological dig site and a 10 minute walk from the red beach.
Several Taverns along the beach a few minutes away make this an ideal location although the stairs only access to the upper rooms would make restrictive to people who struggle with mobility.
The bus stop right outside was handy, making the whole island accessible.

By far the best value on the island

We were very pleased with the hotel and our room . We reserved our room on hotels.com and paid a very low price so we were a little skeptical about what we were walking into but It was very clean , private and safe . Our room had water front views from all windows and doors . It is a little mom and pop place on the quiet end of the island away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough to restaraunsts and shopping . The owners are very nice and eager to give directions and suggestions about sights to see. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will probably visit again . We missed our flight so we needed to stay another night , they not only let us stay in our original room but did not up the room charge for our extra day

Hotel Akrotiri was the perfect choice for us! :) it is a small, family run establishment directly on the seaside, in a super relaxing environment. We did not spend a lot of time there though - preferred to discover the island during the days - but it is a very comfortable place to start and to end the day. Rooms are spotless clean, silence and tranquility surrounds, sea breeze and the music of waves when you open your door or window. A big big plus is the owner and his family - Mathios is a genuinely kind and caring host, who really puts your comfort and wellbeing on the first place! He has been far the best host we have ever met. Thank you!!! Also, it is worth to ask him for local tips on where to go and what to see in Santorini, we were never disappointed!
If we have to say something negative, the only thing that could be improved is the breakfast - after 5 days it was a bit boring, but still very tasty and satisfying. So no complaints at all, we would definitely come back again! :)

This was a very nice hotel at a location that is impossible to beat, right on the beach near Santorini's Red Beach and within a minute's walking distance from prehistoric Akrotiri. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I would certainly stay here again.

Great spot on Santorini

Location is away from the crowds, but easy access to red beach and some restaurants, wineries. Rent an ATV and get anywhere else quite easily. Multiple patio areas overlooking the water are tough to beat if you are looking for a relaxing spot to have a beer. Staff were great as well!

Great vibe. Perfect, no-frills hotel in a quite part of the island. Ideal for quiet contemplation or a romantic getaway. Each room has a private terrace or balcony. Simple rooms, nothing fancy. Clean and functional. The owner of the hotel and the staff are very friendly and laid back. They treat you like friends and are very kind and considerate. You just feel like you are comfortably visiting a friends place, with the added bonus of privacy and comfort.

Santorini Tranquility

This hotel is the best B+B, fantastic location, superb, small, immaculate condition, prime spot right next to the sea. It has easy access to Akrotiri Town, buses to all other attractions, a boat service that moors onto the beach. There are several good and varied local tavernas. Easy to walk to The Red Bay/Beach, The ancient historic city of Akrotiri is on the doorstep. For the more adventurous a 20min walk to a deserted sandy spot can be found along the rocky coastline to the left of the hotel. The owners and staff were extremely friendly and helpful, we had everything we needed to make us comfortable, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was varied and sufficient the snack bar below did fabulous treats and coffees all available with a view to die for. It wasn't too difficult to walk to the nearest town were there were more bars, car/bike hire and a supermarket. I would definitely go back and hope this hotel retains all it's charm. There are rooms on several levels, all having a small balcony/patio and great views,no lifts but easy stairs for most ages. Other areas are situated around throughout the property to sit under the trees in the shade with lots of relaxing chairs and vistas. Beautiful, peaceful location

Perfect spot to relax in peace but with the island in easy reach. The room was cleaned and linen changed daily, the staff were great at advising on things to do. Highly recommended, i would definitely go back there. Don't miss the Asterias restaurant on the quay beside the Dolphin restaurant - wonderful food and fantastically attentive husband and wife team.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is great, on the water with easy beach access and very quiet. Rooms are clean but dated. Travelling with family (wife 3 kids 2 grandparents) all enjoyed the stay. The terrace is excellent and the coffe is amazing.

Charming if a little disorganised

Right on the beach with lovely views. Family run hotel and reception feels like the family front room, but that us part of the charm.
We arrived and found the reception door locked had to ask someone how to get in.
But in expensive Santorini this is an inexpensive gem. Lovely people. Go and chill.

I would recommend this hotel for the view of the water you get from the beautiful balconies off of the rooms. The outside is adorable and quaint, however the rooms are not very comfortable or very big. If you are someone who needs a great night's sleep on a fluffy pillow this will not give you that, but if you are someone who likes to have a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night on a balcony over looking the water than this will do the trick!

Panorama bellissimo e mare sotto l'albergo limpidissimo: una comodità poter fare il bagno senza doversi spostare con l'auto. Colazione varia e buona. Disponibilita dello staff; buona pulizia quotidiana. Presenza di A/C, cassaforte, macchina del caffe Illy.
Parcheggio non sempre disponibile perchè non c'è area privata. Il parcheggio è pubblico e viene occupato dai bagnanti.
Purtroppo le foto delle camere sono più belle della realtà. Dalle foto sembra che il terrazzino sia sempre privato, invece è condiviso e qualche terrazzino è addiritura sull'area di passaggio verso le altre camere o piani. Questo fa si che non si abbia la dovuta privacy. Dentro le camere il segnale cellulare e wifi è assente (gabbia di Faraday). WiFi scarso perchè con tanti utenti attaccati non funziona più. Abbiamo avuto la sfortuna di ritrovarci circondati nel patio da blatte (bugs), non in camera, ma sul patio di accesso alla stanza e sulle scale: probabilmente per colpa del caldo. Abbiamo segnalato il problema, il gestore si è mostrato comprensivo e disponibile a spargere insetticida all'esterno; ma alla nostra richiesta di cambiare stanza non siamo stati esauditi perchè tutto pieno.

Das Hotel Akrotiri ist wunderschön an der Red Beach gelegen, ganz in der Nähe befindet sich die Ausgrabungsstätte von Akrotiri, die unbedingt einen Besuch lohnt. Am Hotel ist außerdem eine Bushaltestelle für die Busse nach Fira. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gut isoliert, allerdings etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Alles in allem ist das Hotel aber ideal für einen Kurzurlaub
