Comfortable room, good meals, friendly service

It seems the hotel expanded their business, and we got a room in another building nearby. Our room was comfortable, everything worked. We went to the original building for dinner and breakfast- both good meals for good prices. Good value for money overall, I would recommend it!

I’m a regular at this hotel, frankly since it was new. The quality of the room definitely has gone from bad to worse throughout the years. Drain in the bathroom is always clogged. Hot summer stay is terrible because of no AC. They left the window open so room was full of little flies. I love this place and the restaurant has great food, but the rooms definitely need remodeling.

A converted flour mill from the mid 1800’s with a flowing creek still under it. The restaurant is just as the pictures show, timber framed and pouring with quaint rustic charm. This property is a restaurant first with some hotel rooms and treat it as such, the rooms are tight but quaint and it’s the restaurant for dinner that really gets lively around 7 pm….. breakfast was decent, just ran out of a couple of things. 4 star!

Wonderful hotel with a great restaurant

Wonderful hotel!
Our rooms were in a new, adjacent block and were very comfortable and modern.
The big bonus is the restaurant. We paid extra for the breakfast but it was well worth the 8 euro - nice, traditional Bavarian fayre and plenty of it!
The restaurant is very quaint and still retains a lot of the old mill features. Evening meal was delicious and excellent value - a mix of Italian and Bavarian dishes

Poor hospitality. Room surprisingly located offsite with no staff. Not given instructions with how to get in and ended up being given a room key that did not work. We were outside in the cold and rain for about 15 minutes. No apology was given by staff or manager who turned out to be the one to come give us a new room key. He never even told us our room had changed. He couldn't answer our question about wifi. He failed to mention kitchen hours even after we told him we were going to their restaurant. By the time we got there the kitchen had closed. Our only option off the menu was pizza. When checking out I was told had I booked by calling the hotel I could have spent less, which was like adding flame to the fire. Room seemed clean and mojitos were good. Overall very disappointed in experience.

convenient and clean Hotel..

A wonderful boutique hotel set in a very quiet environment. Room was very well appointed with views out into nearby area. Restaurant prices were reasonable and service very good. Many cafes in town so never short of food. Shops shut on Sundays and in our case they were shut on the Monday which was a public holiday. Very happy with this Hotel.

Quite peaceful stay

The hotel is renovated from an old mill, with the beautiful wood decoration, although surprisingly spotted some codweb & a big spider in the corner. The bed is comfortable, and bathroom is clean. Heads up guys: no elevator! So warm up before getting ready to life your luggage to 2F :) One downside is the scarce choice of breakfast, which is not even included in the room rate :(

A Gem of a surprise!

I booked two rooms at Hotel Kunstmuehle while on a recent trip through Germany. Not having access to well known American chain hotels and not knowing \"what you get when you get there\", I trusted Expedia and its reviews to choose this hotel in the small town of Mindelheim. If you are touring Schloss Neuschwanstein and plan to travel to Heidelberg (or any other place), I highly recommend staying at Hotel Kunstmuehle; we loved the atmosphere, the modern rooms and the staff. The building is an old mill; the contrast of the traditional look and the modern, updated rooms is beautiful. The little creek that used to power the mill runs right under the building, and you can see it through the glass floor in the dining room. Our waitress/hotel room supervisor, Liliana, was amazing! She was always available and happy to help. Not only did she check us in and made sure we had everything, but she also waited on us at the restaurant (exquisite Italian cuisine) with in and outside seating. Next morning, she was there again, bright and early to serve breakfast. Breakfast is free and what a variety of breads, cereals, jams, yogurt, meats and cheeses! Liliana also checked us out and we wished we could have stayed longer. The family room we stayed in was located right next to the creek as it exited the building so we were able to listen to the sound of rushing water all night long. The bathrooms were super modern with walk in shower and light, clean appliances. We loved Hotel Kunstmuehle!

Hotel Kunstmühle

The Kunstmuhle is a very comfortable hotel and ideally located for exploring the sights of Southern Bavaria. We used it as an overnight stop on our way back to UK from Austria. After a search on Google for a local restaurant, we decided to stay at the hotel as the locals were flooding in for a meal...! It was a great idea as the food and atmosphere was fabulous, that along with a very good local beer on tap ticked all the boxes. The only slight niggle would be the heat in the rooms during a warm spell, as it's a period building, there was probably an issue installing AC but it didn't spoil the stay at all.

The hotel was nice enough however a few things I wasn't happy with, there was no iron, no coffee facilities in room, very lumpy/thin pillows, window shutters rattled. Breakfast was boring so ate out in local cafes. The location of hotel was great for getting to Munich and Chitty Chitty bang bang castle.

A very nice surprise! The Frundsberg Festival.

It was a nice surprise when I drove from Munich to French,I found this BEAUTIFUL TOWN and this LOVELY hotel! The Frundsberg Festival (from 25th June to 5th July 2015) - every three years the people of Mindelheim commemorate a great family of knights from Schwaz in Tyrol... is something very important and you must NOT miss! Hotel room is perfect, Germany perfect quality, correct price, special old mill house, everything made me surprise and cheer of happiness. You MUST TRY！

Charming old Mill hotel

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It's essentially an old mill building converted to house a good Italian restaurant and modern style hotel rooms, with many of the old fixtures still in place in the restaurant area. Charming.
Totally recommend the food at the restaurant (quite generous portions) and decent breakfast. Take the time to visit the room above the restaurant which houses much of the old equipment and photos of the old mill, as well as take a walk around the front of the hotel where you can see how the stream once powered the mill.
The hotel itself is located above the restaurant with the restaurant staff assisting with the check-in. Staff are super friendly, the manager Khurram who delightfully offered advice on menu and places to see in the area.
I would recommend this hotel for anyone on a budget, its very good value.

The staff make this a great place to stay.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our first night we blew a fuse and the gentleman who came to help us noticed we arrived late with a five year old and offered to send us up some food. Of course she immediately asked for French fries and within five minutes he had someone bring us up some fries and a bottle of water. That act of kindness made our night!! Exceptional service and so considerate!! On the other hand, no air conditioning in the summer didn't make for a comfortable stay especially when opening the windows meant getting a room full of cigarette smoke from the amazing restaurant down below. Breakfast was delicious and again the staff were kind and helpful. Over all a great stay but the air conditioning was a big deal for us.

Gegenüber früher verschlechtert

Wir waren zum 3.Mal dort auf der Durchreise nach Südtirol. Diesmal waren wir enttäuscht. Da mit Hund, bekommen wir stets ein Zimmer im nahegelegenen Inselhotel mit Parkplatz vor der Tür. Hatten wir bisher stets ein rel. geräumiges Zimmer nach hinten raus bekamen wir nun ein sehr enges nach vorn raus, zwar mit Balkon, aber bei einer Nacht nutzlos. Traditionell essen wir in der Kunstmühle auch zu Abend. Essen war gut. Meine Frau wollte zum Abschluss noch ein Getränk, das nicht kam, sonst alles ok. Am nächsten Morgen nahmen wir auch dort das Frühstück ein, da es auf Prospekten im Zimmer und an den Tischen im Restaurant für einen günstigen Preis angepriesen wurde. Als ich bezahlen wollte, rief die Wirtin aber einen 1,5fachen Preis fürs Frühstück auf mit der Begründung, die Prospekte seinen alt. Hat mich viel Diskussion gekostet und sie wurde recht unfreundlich, bis sie mit dem ausgeschriebenen Preis einverstanden war. Diesmal sind wir also nicht so zufrieden.

Die Unterbringung war in einem externen Hotel was nicht schlimm war. Das Zimmer war sauber und modern eingerichtet. Parkplätze waren auf dem öffentlich Parkplatz ausreichend vorhanden. Der einzigste Kritikpunkt war das Internet was nicht wirklich nutzbar war. Hier muss dringend nach gebessert werden.

Tolle Unterkunft im Nebengebäude! Mein Zimmer war groß und geräumig und sehr sauber. Das Personal war durchweg sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Die Mücken in Bayern können sehr fies sein- toll wären Insektennetze an den Fenstern, damit man weiter gut lüften kann.

Leider falsche Angaben zur Zimmergröße inkl. falschen Fotos auf Expedia.
Statt 35 m² sind die normalen Doppelzimmer nur etwa halb so groß.
Beim Auschecken wurde uns dann jedoch ein kleiner Rabatt gewährt und etwas zum Abschied spendiert.

Das Hotel ist insgesamt in einem guten Zustand, auch wenn die Möbel im Zimmer einige Schäden aufweisen, die jedoch nur optischer Natur sind.

Bei jedem erneuten Einstecken der Hotelkarte für Strom im Zimmer begann ein lautes Surren, welches jedoch nach einiger Zeit auch wieder aufhörte.

Am Frühstückbuffet gibt es nichts zu bemängeln, auch wenn ein Cappuccino vermisst wurde, der jedoch dazubestellt werden kann.

Die Sauberkeit der Zimmer war soweit in Ordnung bis auf einige tote Fliegen auf dem Boden.

Das Personal war bemüht sowie freundlich und insbesondere den Mitarbeiter Sohell möchten wir hier noch positiv hervorheben.

Die Lage des Hotels ist gut.
Auch zu Fuß ist man innerhalb weniger Minuten mitten in Mindelheim und mit dem Auto zügig in der Therme Bad Wörishofen oder im Skyline Park.

Grundsätzlich schöne Unterkunft.
Das Nebenhaus wird auf der Seite jedoch verschwiegen da keine Bilder online sind.
Ausstattung im Nebenhaus sehr rationalisiert. Das bedeutet, keine Minibar/Kühlschrank, Bettlaken hat nur 2/3 des Bettes bedeckt und das ganze Zimmer hat nur 3 Steckdosen. Die Zimmer sind SEHR hellhörig. Fenster geht nicht ganz auf, Wände verschmutzt und Schränke stinken. Die Matratze besitzt einen Schoner, welcher sehr raschelt - mehr dazu weiter unten.

Die Begrüßung war sehr unfreundlich und forsch - die Mitarbeiterin beim Check-out jedoch sehr zuvorkommend.
Das Personal des Zimmer-Services war weit aus freundlicher und zuvorkommender!

Natürlich habe ich keinen gesamten Blick auf das Hotel, jedoch wurden innerhalb meines Zeitraumes die anliegenden Zimmer (dem Anschein nach) als Stundenhotel genutzt.

Insgesamt waren es sehr unruhige Nächte (Matratenschoner raschelt, hellhörige Zimmer, Tätigkeiten in anliegenden Räumen).

Das WLAN funktionierte 1A, ebenso der TV und das Badezimmer.

Für ein relativ neues Gebäude war mein Zimmer sehr abgenutzt - ebenso gefiel mir der Service sowie die Hellhörigkeit nicht.

Positiv zu erwähnen sind WLAN, TV, Parkplatz, sehr unkomplizierter Check-in & -out und eigentlich moderne Zimmer.

wir hatten das Hotel wegen seiner zentralen Lage am Rande der Altstadt ausgesucht und wurden nicht enttäuscht.
Der Empfang, der Service und auch das gesamte Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Das Zimmer im historischen Bau bot hohen Standard, war sehr sauber und auch von der Raumgröße und -gestaltung angemessen.

Bookingen til hotellet nåede ikke frem fra Expedia, så der var ingen værelser da vi kom frem, men hotellets reception sikrede os overnatning på et nabohotel og sørgede for betaling til dette hotel. Virkelig flot service fra receptionisten på Hotel Kunstmuhle.

Am Tag der Anreise kam der Anruf das kein Zimmer für uns da ist. Das Hotel Kunstmühle hat bei einem anderen Hotel für uns ein Zimmer gebucht und uns um 17.15 Uhr Bescheid gesagt dass uns jetzt 21€ mehr gekostet hat.

Die Kunstmühle liegt in Laufnähe zur Innenstadt. Die Zimmer sind teilweise neu und dann modern, aber sehr hellhörig.

Sehr nettes kleines Hotel. Das angeschlossene Restaurant ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Essen war auch top. Würde es sofort wieder buchen. Zimmer sind völlig ausreichend. Alles vorhanden. Für eine Städtereise optimal.

Eine alte Mühle die als Restaurant umfunktioniert wurde. Herrliches Ambiente und tolles Abendessen sowie Frühstück! Die Zimmer waren sauber, ruhig und gut eingerichtet. Alles in allem war es ein super Hotel für die 3 Tage in Mindelheim. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir außerdem die Freundlichkeit & Hilfsbereitschaft des Personals.

Sehr schön eingerichtetes Hotel.

Das Frühstück war super für den gezahlten Preis.

Einziges Manko war die Lage unseres Zimmers. Wir konnten lange nicht einschlafen, da wir den Handtrockner der WC's ständig hörten. Unter uns waren die Toiletten für die Gäste des Restaurants.

Ansonsten tolles Hotel.

Leider waren wir von unserem Aufenthalt in der Kunstmühle sehr enttäuscht. Wir hatten uns bewusst für dieses Hotel mit seinem rustikalen Charme entschieden. Vor Ort wurden wir dann an der \"Rezeption\" im Restaurant informiert, dass unser Zimmer im fußläufig erreichbaren Nachbargebäude liegt. Das Restaurant war zu diesem Zeitpunkt rappelvoll, und wir fühlten uns überhaupt nicht willkommen. Auf unsere Frage nach Parkplätzen wurde uns ein Parkplatz genannt, auf dem man 3 Stunden lang mit Parkscheibe stehen kann - wenig gastfreundlich.
Das Zimmer war zwar völlig in Ordnung, aber nicht das, was wir erwartet hatten und ein völlig normales Standardhotelzimmer. Auf der Website findet sich keinerlei Hinweis darauf, dass es ein weiteres Gebäude gibt, so dass wir völlig überrascht waren. Wenigstens gab es hier direkt vor dem Haus Parkplätze.
Da es im Oktober morgens schon recht kalt war, mussten wir zum Frühstück mit dicken Jacken in die eigentliche Kunstmühle rüberlaufen. Kein Beinbruch, aber der Plan war, mit Kind einfach zum Frühstück nach unten gehen zu können. Das Frühstück war für 7 Euro pro Person (leider keine Kinderermäßigung) ok, aber nichts Besonderes.
Fazit: wären wir vorher informiert worden, dass unser Zimmer nicht in der Künstmühle selber ist, hätten wir das Hotel nicht gebucht.

Abends Essen war sehr gut. Beim Frühstück war nicht gut.
Es fehlt z.B. Speck ... Wenn jemand um 9.00 Uhr zum Frühstück kommt und Wurst oder Leberwurst fast alle und Service soll besser kümmern. Kurz vor dem Feierabend zieht Diener seine Jacke an und warten bis wir weg sind. Das finde ich nicht gut.

Die Flexibilität der Rezeption hat uns gefallen, weil wir wegen eines falschen Datums dennoch unser Zimmer reservieren konnten, auch noch, nachdem wir schon unterwegs waren.
