There was damage to the ceiling and the screen door on the balcony would not latch so it opened and closed all night in the wind. Also there were dirty fingerprints on the doors and walls near the entryway to our room and bathroom.

If this was a standard room, I would say average stay but for booking presidential suite it was a poor experience. Lady at check-in was leaning in the corner half asleep and didn’t have a pleasant tone or attitude. Did the absolute bare minimum then sent me on my way to figure out where my suite was, I had to get all my luggage, find the cart, move everything and park all while temp was 5.

We arrive up to the room, it’s large but that’s where it stops. The layout is awful, the “kitchen” is a 4 door cabinet with sink and nothing else, the living room features the most awkward couch and small for the room. Enter the bathroom and all the doors have been remove and painters tape is being used to hide the pockets. The bathtub either is super slow and hot or fast and Luke warm. To stack up even worse the mini fridge is in the bedroom so you joyfully listen to that, and the thermostat controls both areas. So your bedroom will be mhhh while the living areas are cooked.

Overall super disappointed, I could have stayed at the JW or anywhere else. We travel a lot see the nicest rooms places have and this it what j had this week. Very sad to see.

The property was a beautiful place to get a to go coffee and walk the lake. The rooms were nice and clean. We did have an issue with a dog across the hall barking incessantly. The staffing was mostly amazing. There was one front desk lady that wasn't friendly at all, but I didn't catch her name. The other two ladies and gentleman we spoke with were awesome. The bartender could be a bit more attentive. Seemed more interested in speaking to someone who they obviously knew than taking care of customers. All that being said, we did love our stay and we will definitely choose the property again for our next stay!

First of all, \"partial lake view\" means you have to go to the window and crane your neck to get a glimpse of the lake. Otherwise, if just living in your room normally, your view will be of a parking lot and a parking deck. What a bummer. I wanted to change rooms (upgrade to one with an actual view), and there was a room available. But the the girl at the desk couldn't figure out how to do it. I mean, just give me a different key, right? But the staff can't think for themselves; they are just slaves to a computer program. There was an incessant buzzing in the room. Non-stop. I thought it might be the refrigerator so I pulled the bureau out (bugs & debris behind it!) to unplug it but that wasn't it. It was like humming through the ceilings or walls. Speaking of which, the walls are paper thin. I heard people talking, using the rest room, televisions -- thank GOODNESS I brought earplugs or sleep would have been elusive. No special toiletries provided, just the low end of coffee. Decor is bland to awful. Nothing special about design -- except there's a magnifying mirror in the bathroom which is hard fixed to the main mirror rendering it impossible to actually use. Good plan guys! Will not stay here again.

Nice property,,nothing else about this place was nice.
Upon checking in we had no body wash in our bathroom, no body lotion in our bottle.
Our rooms were never made up, until we had to ask for cleaning service.
Never had paper cups unless we asked for them.
Also, no night lights, no pen and paper for writing.

Most of all we had to pay for our own internet.

I am not sure how much the restaurant is affiliated with the hotel, but they have been running special on one dish for five day.
Even though they had other fish available on the menu, it was never available to the customer.
Also the waitress over charged us for our prosecco by $6. A piece.

We had a very nice stay here for a mom‘s night out. We were able to enjoy the pool and sit out by the lake. The room was fair. We were on the first floor looking at the parking lot, but we did book the cheapest room.
We had lunch and drinks at the Cove restaurant and were extremely disappointed. We only ate our meal as we were absolutely starving and service took so long. We said something to the waitress and all she said was “OK” and walked away. There are certainly many, other unique dining places in the area. with better food and better service than the Cove.

The girl at the front desk was wonderful (Chelsea) in getting us checked in. At the time we arrived there should have been another desk attendant as there were many people waiting for assistance.

Paid for a King with a lake view and balcony and was given a double queen that was stuffy with no opening windows. The photos showed a bathtub on Expedia and lake view balcony. My receipt did not specify balcony on it but said King Room for $437. The hotel staff made me feel like they thought I was lying about the room when I went to tell them they gave me the wrong room. There was no soap when I took a shower. The front desk person told me on the phone that CMAC was a 20 minute walk but it was like 40. It was almost entirely sidewalk and not unsafe from cars but not as described. The water bottles in the room have little tags that say only elite members get them free and everyone else pays $3. At check in, I was given no direction to elevators or any information about the hotel. When I came back down to tell them that they gave me the wrong room, they commented about booking through Expedia and repeated that they are full. The phone was ringing in the background and they were obviously stressed. A male employee came over to assist by repeating that they are full but not answering the phone. The pool was a nice temperature but they must’ve shocked it recently because my eyes burned so bad after swimming.

We chose this hotel as it is one of the few right on one of the Finger Lakes. Our assigned room was on the swimming pool side of the hotel. The AC and refrigerator leaked onto the carpet. There was also an intermittent pinging noise that seemed to come from the hallway wall.
Chelsa was most helpful in getting our room changed the next day. The pinging is apparently due to the pool pump.

The restaurant food options are limited. I ordered a Chicken with Gorgonzola gravy and the gorgonzola was not present. Unfortunate that the hotel's food service does not entice more activity from its guests. Lots of great restaurant choices close by.

The location is great as it is on the boardwalk for Canadiagua. We walked in the mornings and evenings and met some great people

We had a lovely experience at the Hotel Canandaigua. The hotel is situated just off the waterfront with beautiful views of the lake. Parking was easy and ample and the lobby is spectacular. We got a room on the first floor with a patio opening up to the waterfront and pool, which was lovely for an early morning stroll and coffee. The staff was courteous and the room was beautifully cleaned with all the fixtures (furniture, bedding, bathroom) brand new.

Just a few things to mention. The chemicals in the pool were way off and burned our eyes and even skin. Our kids love a pool, but we only tired it once and just for a few minutes. We were really excited about that amenity and the outdoor pool was a deciding factor when selecting this hotel, so that was disappointing. We mentioned this to the staff and they could not do anything about it. Also, we paid extra to have our breakfast included. That addition wasn’t showing up so I had to search my Expedia app and show it to them. Once I was able to produce the written confirmation, the front desk staff were kind and made sure to add it to our booking, but it didn’t actually work out to be fully included breakfast. We were allotted $40 per day ($20 per adult, and nothing for the two kids) to spend at their restaurant. Each breakfast entree was $15+ so we ended up paying for the overage each day. Finally, the electricity went out for several hours one morning but came back on. A few quirks but a beautiful property! So many cute dogs.

To begin with, parking at the hotel was difficult because the hotel must not police who parks there. We parked in grass by the road. I booked 1 room with 2 beds for my friend and I and a king room separately for a family member. I checked in at 4 pm, got to room to find 1 bed and small sofa. When I spoke with a man at desk he told me if I didn’t want the room I could go find another hotel that had a 2 bed room available. He was cocky and rude. Blamed it on the fact that I booked with a 3rd party. The other 1 bed room was dirty. The family member found blood on the toilet seat and the floor had food on it so it was not properly clean. I have stayed at a lot of different hotels and never had these issues. Paying $500 a night for each room for the weekend, I expect to get the room type I booked and not have to sleep on a couch! I also am grossed out about the unsanitary condition of the other room. I would think their front desk emps be better trained and not tell a guest to go find another hotel. Next time I guess I will.

The property is right by the lake. Walking by the lake and swimming in the hotel pool or by the lake is easy access. The hotel is well maintained and has many places to sit, relax and enjoy the view indoor and outdoor. The Canandaigua Lady boat ride is few feet away from the hotel, which is a plus.
The hotel restaurant takes a long time to serve the ordered food. Only complain.

Beautiful hotel with bad customer service

We loved this hotel when we arrived and thought we had found a place we'd come back to many times. But, an unfortunate dinner at the hotel + passing of the buck by hotel management left us so frustrated that we won't be back.

Our dinner at the hotel restaurant took well over an hour to arrive (just a salmon dish and a fish sandwich), and all the bartender could do was tell us it was busy. My partner was pissed (we'd been on the road for days and just wanted a nice meal) and the bartender got defensive and said there was nothing she could do. We tried to get help from the front desk staff with the situation (we couldn't find the restaurant manager), and the staff both couldn't help us and didn't even have contact information for his manager. After ending up crying at the bar after a blood sugar drop, eating our food as fast as we could once it finally arrived, then recovering in our room, we finally tracked down the restaurant manager an hour later, who did give us half the bill back and actually did apologize.

We tried to get the rest of the bill covered by the hotel the next morning since it totally changed our view of the hotel, and they said it was the restaurant's problem, and that they couldn't give us $$ back because we booked through Hotels.com. Just felt like passing the buck again. And of course she said the hotel restaurant manager would call us, and they didn't.

For such a high end place you would think the service would be excellent, but it is not.

The staff was with very good intentions but unexperienced in any issue that we have witnessed at pur 4 nights stay..
The room that we were given was vibrating fiercely from time to time and no explanation given, no apologies, no solution to move us.
The room had uneven floors.
Unfunctional lobby to enjoy and relax.
Rooms have poor FF&E compared to any Tapestry collection.
As a summary not worth the price given..One or even two notches down price is what they would have deserved..
