The staff for the most part was nice, the property is clean but there are cats everywhere, not everyone likes cats. Also there was little ants all over my room( though I never brought it to their attention). The whole ground in the resort is VERY SLIPPERY when it rains, I hope someone does not crack their head someday. The food in general needs an upgrade. The food in Alonzonia is bit better. They need to have nightly events to keep guest entertained.

Gorgeous hotel, stayed in the suites and the rooms were spacious, clean and luxurious. The staff were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food and drink in the hotel was decision and plenty of sunbeds. Easy walking distance to Illaysos for more restaurant options and the hotel organises easy taxi’s to the old town. Highly recommend and look forward to visiting again

We we're very disappointed with the room received. When we arrived the bath tub was dripping and dripped the whole time. The aircon made a noise throughout the night and often woke us up. The shower was in need of an upgrade the tap came off in your hand. Our daughters room had mold all around the bath. We did complain at the time and were awarded with a complimentary meal at the suite only restaurant. The meal was ok but nothing special. The buffet was good but not much vegetarian options and the hot food was usually luke warm or cold.
This hotel seriously needs a makeover and investment to warrant the 5* rating. The hotel itself is in a good position, plenty of sunbeds, beautiful pools but buildings looking sad and tired! The staff were amazing but clearly not enough of them.

This is a lovely hotel with everything you need to chill for a few days. The food in the all inclusive is nice without being wow and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Downsides are that the pool is very cold, the hote is quite remote so it is a cab to get anywhere worth visiting and being a gym bunny I thought the gym was very basic.

Overall, I’d say a 7 out of 10. Firstly, my usual gripe on 5-star ratings. There is no official yardstick so can only compare with others rated as 5-star. This just isn't - maybe a 4 at best?.
Room construction / layout / materials quality not 5-star. Pools / reception area close though, very nice.
All inclusive : Food not great and repetitive, drinks quality below average and the usual watered-down variants. Restaurant felt like a school dinner hall after the first couple of nights and having to wait for an outside table quickly became boring.
Nightly entertainment variable (and on weekly repeat loop…)
Managed to get a sunbed at anytime (unusual and a plus) but pools were cold (sea was warmer).
Beach small but nice view, rocky though so couldn’t just walk into sea bare-footed.
Staff generally OK – reception / reception bar and cleaners all good, others a bit perfunctory.
Our 2nd try at all-inclusive and probably our last, the lack of choice, quality of food / drink; lack of individuality and feeling of being tied into the facility not really worth the perceived value for money.
We did meet / hear several groups who were on their multiple return to this hotel so for some it clearly hits the mark.

Thought we would give this hotel a second chance following our first visit in 2018.
First instance, reception staff were lovely and welcoming. We had a deluxe sea view room. The cleaners are definitely the heroes of the team.
Whilst the room was clean, the decor and furnishings were tired. Shower was scratched and worn.
Most alarming was the glass balcony only had 2 screws at one end!!
We never had a hot meal. Always luke warm. It was like eating in a canteen. Nobody ever asked if we enjoyed the food. We have lost some weight for sure.
If you were a custo.er of the deluxe pool rooms then you were lucky to have sampled the 2 onsite Restaurants, however people we spoke to said they were rushed.
The Managers walk around but we never saw them engage with guests. Sat on phone in lobby area. Dirty scratched floor
I wished I had never gone back and stuck to my own review from 2018. Definitely NOT 5 star 3/4 at best.

We’ve just returned from a week at this resort and overall had a fantastic time. The standout for us was the excellent service – staff were consistently attentive, friendly, and eager to help. The atmosphere throughout the resort is quiet and very relaxing, which made it the perfect place to unwind.

One of the real perks was the variety of dining options available for suite guests. Having access to several à la carte restaurants added a nice level of variety and quality to our stay. Our favourite by far was Milonges, the Greek restaurant, which offered delicious dishes in a lovely setting. However, it’s worth noting that if you’re not staying in a suite, dining in an à la carte restaurant is limited to once per stay leaving you with the buffet only on all other days, which might get repetitive.

On the downside, the drinks were underwhelming for a 5-star resort. Cocktails were mostly pre-made with a limited selection, which was a bit disappointing. Another minor issue was the cleanliness of the pools. Even the private pools had a visible build-up of sunscreen around the edges, which could be improved.

That said, these were small issues in what was otherwise a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable holiday. We’d definitely recommend this resort to others – especially suite guests – and would happily return in the future!

Beautiful hotel, and amazing staff.
2 staff members in particular really made our stay more enjoyable.
Eugene in the restaurant, who regularly served us, was very friendly and great to have a bit of a chat with.
Razvan, who was regularly bringing us drinks to the beach was also brilliant. Always seemed very happy and also great to have a chat with when he had a spare minute.
Both of these guys deserve full recognition of the great service they were providing. They really helped making our holiday that much better.

This was by far the worse holiday experience I have ever encountered, the hotel was very tired and certainly not a 5star nor the luxury experience I was hoping for, the hotel has limited entertainment, is located in a dire, poorly lit, dirty area where access with taxi is limited as the hotel does not provide a service for ordering a taxi home, the food was repetitive and sub standard, the food choice for a vegetarian was pizza or chips each day, the all inclusive drinks package was served in plastic cups and the choice was non branded and extremely limited, the wine choice was a colour! The queue for food and drinks was unacceptable often taking 20-30 minutes for service, the hotel and rooms were tired, leaks in bathrooms and rooms poorly lit/on the border of being extremely dangerous, the whole experience was completely awful to the point we booked flights home 48 hours before our original departure date. Would not recommend and usually do not provide a negative review but felt it was that poor I should express my opinions.

We had an amazing time in April. The experience started with the luxury complimentary airport transfer to the hotel. We were welcomed by reception and atarted are all inclusive experience straight away. The rooms were excellent and the in-room hot tub with sea view was awesome. The Spa was nice. We loved our time at the Ixian Grand Hotel. We had all inclusive which provided great food at the buffet. One thing to note that wasn’t too obvious is that you only get to eat in one A La Carte restaurant once per stay with all inclusive, it has to be the buffet every other time.

There’s not a lot around the hotel, but it’s only a short taxi trip into Rhodes which was great with lots to see.

The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, and it’s nice to see some entertainment on a few nights!

Would love to come back!

Location is great for the sea but hotel itself could do with some renovations. We came here in 2018 and in the last 6 years, the hotel has lost its sparks. The corridors could do with freshen up; walls behind bed etc the hotel looks a bit tired now.

This place is Heaven On Earth. The dining experience is amazing I recommend getting a suit because what you get in terms of service is on an other level. The staff are truly the best and really take care of you they managed to even bake a custom cake for my girlfriend’s birthday. Get a massage from Eva she goes in deep and removes knots that you don’t even know you had. This place will definitely become an annual escape from my partner and I and we look forward to brining our family and friends to enjoy the experience with us. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

We loved this place.
We stayed in a grand suite with a private pool and literally could not believe our eyes when we walked in. The patio had sun from first thing all the way through to about 3.30pm with pool staying in the sun until about 6. (Visited mid August)
With the suites you get access to the Alzonia restaurant along with the 2 a la carte restaurants (1 Greek 1 Japanese). You can use them as many times as you want when you book a suite but you do need to book the 2 a la carte restaurants early in the stay just to guarantee a table. Breakfast and dinner was amazing each day and we cannot fault the food. We didn’t do lunch other than a little snack at the pool bar.
We did spend most of our time at our own pool but on the couple of occasions we ventured to the main pool we found it fairly easy to find sun beds both round the pool and on the beach up to about lunchtime. A little trickier after that but there were lots of comfier seats/sofas by the side of the pool that were really nice.
The staff throughout the hotel were great, friendly and very helpful. We must give a special mention to the staff at the Alzonia who went above and beyond every time we went. We did breakfast for 6 of the days and dinner twice. They were so attentive with drinks and was lovely to have a little chat with them each day.
Whilst the spa was a little on the pricier side we felt so good after our couples massage with Eva and Katherine that we booked for a second one later in the trip.

Rooms clean and tidy- we had a sea view
Don't recommend the cocktails but the wine was nice but thats personal choice.
We didn't use the spa- the girls do walk around but don't pester you and if you say no they walk away.

Fixed price taxis- only 16.50€ into rhodes town which we did on a few occasions, worth the trip for old town and can recommend a bar called “The Last Butler” in Rhodes town for a chilled atmosphere and great cocktails

We booked a coach trip to Lindos which collected us from the drive entrance to the hotel, id recommend people do this as its worth the visit just for St Pauls Bay alone, however, if you go to the acropolis take water and be prepared to walk up the 300 steps to get to it.
This is ok for most, but people with young children (not a problem if you’re staying at the Ixian Grand) and disabilities may struggle unless you take your time.
It was 42 degrees when we went so very hot, plenty of sunscreen and cover your shoulders if you easily burn.
Definitely recommend staying here if you want a chilled relaxing time.

Lovely staff, always smiling and chatty and recognised us when passing by. Great selection of food with different themed nights everyday and entertainment at the pool. Very convenient airport transfer on arrival and departure but travel into town and public transport is not so reliable (no fault of the hotel). They have a very good concierge with good day trips from a couple of agencies so it's a good alternative to the public transport.

It was a nice hotel but not a 5 star, the staff were the best part of the experience with all of them being friendly and welcoming during nearly all interactions. Food in the buffet restaurant was good for most of the stay but desserts on dinner evenings left a little to be desired, specifically on last 2 evenings when the offerings were identical and provided no variety, breakfast was the strongest offering in ways of meals and consistency of taste etc. The poolside bar was very poor in way of food offering and was identical every day and was missing just a good old fashioned burger and fries. Some odd rules applied given the all inclusive nature of the hotel, you could not have a large bottle of water from the bar instead offering only 2 cups. The poolside ordering service via the app was not always on during its allotted hours (11-2). If you wished to take drinks back to your room from the bar it could be only one each (non alcoholic or alcoholic it didn’t change the rule). The “Jacuzzi” on the balcony(set inside a glass surround) was in fact a bath with water jets, the blinds did not cover the entire pane of glass meaning neighboring balcony’s could see into your bath, should you choose to go nude this could cause some embarrassment. Overall it was a pleasant experience but notable room for Improvement in some obvious areas.

The Ixian Grand is incredible. This was our 3rd stay here and we are staying again in October. The Hotel itself is clean, welcoming and has everything you could possibly want for a relaxing, chilled out holiday. There are plenty of sunbeds to go round and you dont have to fight for one or reserve one. The food is great. We always eat at the buffet vis a vis reataurant. Plenty of choice. You can go up as many times as you like with a fresh plate and all the food is replenished promtly, so no need to load up with everything. The poolside snack bar is fantastic if you dont want a heavy lunch. The rooms are very clean and lots of amenities. The inside and outside bars are great and good selection of drinks included with all inclusive. The thing that sets this hotel apart from the others is the staff. Every single member of the team went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasurable one. Even on our first stay they were incredible. The reception team are very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. The Porters and the transfer guys are fantastic. All of the restaurant staff are amazing. No request is too much trouble. One of my friends is allergic to peanuts and seafood and the restaurant team are so knowledgeable we had no worry about what they could eat. Finally the housekeeping staff were very friendly. We even noticed that the Hotel management were always at the hotel and worked just as hard as all the staff. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. It is fatastic.

To put it politely, this hotel is pushing a below average 4 star. No way in hell can they consider themselves even close to 5 star.

The hotel is generally shabby and needs a big glow up. The outdoor bar area could be much better utilised and presented. The evening entertainment was laughably bad. Having stuff like daily water aerobics at the main pool is far from a 5 star experience they advertise. The gym is a dusty shed with dreadful equipment- again not 5 star. The place was full of riff raff wall to wall.

The staff however were very polite (minus the one who decided to steal my gold necklace from our room whilst we were out).

In therms of the food and drink situation, they fail to tell you the full terms of ‘all inclusive’ until you arrive. They only allow one visit to the restaurants per stay, which also limit the food you can eat, so we left hungry. The food however was good throughout the stay. The choices of alcohol were terrible.

The rooms were nice enough with big comfy beds, but again wouldn’t say are close to a 5 star stay.

All in all, the location makes up for the majority of the above but this hotel doesn’t come to close to a 5 star stay/experience and wouldn’t recommend staying here at the prices they advertise during peak times having had stuff stolen from our room.

We had a lovely time, the staff, food, and accommodation were spot on, our suite was right on the beachfront, we ate in the restaurant that was exclusive to the suites and the food was great, nothing was too much trouble. We hired a car for a couple of days and went around the island, which was enjoyable, hiring the car at the hotel was quick and easy. I would recommend The jewellers in the hotel, I bought a ring which was very reasonably priced, a lot cheaper and better quality than in the uk. Would definitely recommend, and we will go back.

Loved the scenery, beautiful location. Superb service by all staff members who go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Food and drink were the only two items which could’ve been better. Food was a bit hit or miss: either delicious or quite bland. cocktails were not particularly enjoyable as extremely strong and didn’t taste nice.

WARNING though, if doing all inclusive for fewer than 7 nights, the hotel doesn’t let you use any other restaurant other than the main one — unless you pay extra…

After arriving at Ixia Grand we were pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel lobby area/bar was. Our next positive on arrival was to receive a room upgrade to a swim up pool room due to our original room being refurbished. The whole Holiday was a joy, staff were all very friendly and helpful, food and drinks very good especially the Greek a la carte meal, amenities great and location excellent for Rhodes town. A special mention goes to Aida who tirelessly attended to people’s drink requirements in the bar/lounge area, Argyro who always greeted us at the dining area with a beaming smile and Elena who tended to our table perfectly. A big thank you to all at the Ixia for a lovely holiday.

A lovely resort with wonderful staff. There are three pools, one indoor and two outdoor. Plenty of space around the pool and the beach is a stones throw away, complete with sun loungers. The food at the resort was good, some options were very basic and it would’ve been nice to have proper Greek food - you don’t go to a Greek island for pizza and and spag-bol! The bedroom was spacious, however, the bathroom had a window which meant any privacy was gone.. not ideal when the toilet looks out towards other rooms… that aside, the resort was perfect for a relaxing holiday.

We loved this hotel. We were fully prepared to eat out whilst staying here despite paying for all inclusive, however the food was excellent and the menu was varied enough that we never did. The staff were great and the room was lovely!

First the good bits! Staff were all very nice, really appreciated transfer to and from hotel, excellent !
Pools were lovely, as were the areas around the pool.The room was big and clean.
However, the food was ok, a lot of it was standard buffet food which didn’t taste of that much. Drink was much the same. Wine wasn’t very nice so tried a cocktail- poured straight from a bottle ready made up, Margarita - green liquid , no mint etc no real taste.
Decided to buy a pink gin( not available on all inclusive) - a staggering €9.80 for a single measure!
The room- strange design feature- bathroom was all glass - toilet completely visible to anyone in the room
( and some things I don’t want to share even with my nearest and
dearest ! ) The toilet was also totally visible to all in the block opposite - so to go to the bathroom I had to close all the curtains and close the patio doors , or the curtains would blow open- blinds would solve the problem!!
The room was clean but the drains smelled and I was aware of the smell all the time I was in the room!

Fantastic Holiday in The Ixian Grand & All Suites

It was am amazing and very very nice hotel for your holiday and also the staff are professional from smile the Reception desk, Room services, Restaurants, Bars, public relations and the site supervision by the GM resulting very good service and this is the reason for the difficulty to find a room during summer and you should secure your booking at least 6-8 weeks before your visit.

The staff were mostly friendly and attentive, we had one incident which required calling maintenance, who were at our room and fixing the issue within 5 minutes.

There was some confusion over where the all-inclusiveness started and ended. It wasn't made totally clear at the outset exactly what was included, and the advertised 'table service' around the pool and beach failed to materialise - without explanation.

Overall, however, we had a great experience, Rhodes is beautiful and the hotel was very comfortable. The fact that you're right on the beach is a real highlight. The free transfer offered by the hotel was also convenient and hassle-free.

This was my first solo holiday and it couldn't have gone much better. Everything was in order from the minute I arrived at the airport to when I left. All the staff were helpful and friendly, particularly the restaurant hostess who always took time to ask how my day had been. Great variety of restaurants and the food was exceptional. The spa was great and everyone was super kind. The gym was a little worse for wear and some equipment was broken, but otherwise the hotel room and facilities were brilliant.

Good sized deluxe sea view room with large bed.
However, food choice was limited and a bit repetitive, and the quality was hit and miss.
Evening entertainment was poor and VERY loud and located outside below the rooms so no chance of sleep until it finished at 11.15
Pool hygiene was questionable as there was a large wild duck permanently at/in it with obvious bird excrement at the bottom of the pool, plus algea and slime on a wall that people had written in. Stray cats were allowed to wander in/around the restaurant area which staff ignored even when pointed out. Staff attitudes in general were pretty bland and non-interested in their guests.
Although this was 2 weeks before the hotel closed for the winter and (we learnt on the last day) was part of the recently defunct Thomas Cook group, it wasn't what we expect of a \"5-star\" hotel.
Disappointed.

The positives were a great price for all inclusive (more on that later) with the added bonus of an upgrade on arrival with a private pool in one of the suites.

However, I’m afraid these were the only positives from our point of the view. We found the majority of the staff to be sullen and not very welcoming - not sure of this was because of being towards the end of a long summer or because we were British? A particular waiter for example would barely acknowledge you throughout service but would shake hands, smile and even man hug a neighbouring European table!

The all inclusive was very restricted - throughout the lead up to our holiday we often wondered how they can make a profit. Easy, let’s restrict you to 2 small glasses of wine per dinner service, 1 cup of coffee at breakfast and generally make you feel like you’re a nuisance when ordering food or a drink.

The food in the buffet restaurant was repetitive and Greek night was the only decent offering. We appreciate they’re catering to several nationalities but come on, this is a Greek hotel - why offer school dinner quality spag Bol and poor quality Asian food?!

This was our first visit to Rhodes and leave with the view that the hotel is possibly living on past glories - certainly not 5 star - and suffers from our point of view of being out of town within a very run down, desolate area with no decent amenities outside of the hotel.

I HAD NEVER BEEN TO RHODES BEFORE BUT MY WIFE HAD AND SPOKE VERY HIGHLY OF IT. SO THIS WAS MY FIRST VISIT AND WOW.

Great Hotel right on the beach.

Great Hotel right on a pebble beach, excellent amenities and fantastic staff who always great guests with a smile and are eager to help and to please. There is varied evening entertainment and two separate dining restaurants offering freshly cooked fine food for those wishing to book in advance in addition to the main buffet restaurant which has plentiful food selections available three times a day.
So nice to have an adult only experience in such a well maintained clean and friendly hotel.

Beautiful hotel on the beach, magnificent staff

We had a very nice stay for a relaxing long weekend. The location is very convenient for the airport and the centre of Rhodes. The hotel itself has a grand lobby and all facilities are modern and well designed. All amenities you would expect from a 5* hotel are present.

The key differentiating factor is the excellent staff, all of which went out of their way to accommodate our every request and truly made a difference to our experience. Just one example is the birthday cake for my wife that was waiting in our room on our 2nd day, without us mentioning the occasion to anyone. We were very touched by the gesture.

Fabulous pools and sea location

This was the most relaxing holiday that we have ever experienced. The hotel is spacious, modern with beautiful grounds. The swimming pools are wonderful and offer sea views. There is always a plentiful supply of sun loungers by both the pools, in the gardens and in the private beach area. Being adult only meant that it was quiet and relaxing.
Staff are really friendly, helpful and hard working. The lounge and bar areas are attractively furnished and very comfortable.
