What a gem this place was. I made a last minute decision to come to Vieques solo, and Victor at the front desk helped me make that decision over the phone. He gave ferry, car rental, excursion, and food recommendations. He and Valeria in the restaurant were amazing and so kind. On top of that, of course the resort itself is beautiful. The while horses, the infinity pool, the stars at night. The food at the restaurant was delicious and I enjoyed the view. The room was spacious and comfortable. I would 100% stay here again!

The property is in a beautiful, quiet location with views of the sea and town, plus welcoming staff. Our room was clean and maintained daily on schedule. The restaurant served great food for breakfast and dinner with an unmatched view. The pool is gorgeous and truly the best of any hotel on the island. The property was however. more run down than expected. It clearly needed painting and repairs. The main areas are open to the elements and when it rained the flooring was wet and not mopped up. I recommend the property if you have the right expectations as it is not luxury.

Didn’t see much difference between the regular room and the pricier ocean front view except for the direction the balcony is facing. Very close to the bioluminescent tour starting point. Will definitely come back here!

The resort was wonderful!! As a first time visitor to Vieques, having a rental car made the trip so much more enjoyable! Dinner at the resort restaurant was delicious!! The best culinary experience we had was from a food stand on the side of the road by Fun Bros! The empanadas were phenomenal!! Playa Caracas was the most beautiful beach we visited!! D’frozz in Isabel 2 has incredible iced coffee and reasonably priced breakfast!!

Overall we had an amazing time and will definitely be on our return destination list!!

This boutique hotel is simply stunning atop a cliff overlooking sugarcane bay to the left. The staff is wonderful and make you feel right at home upon arrival. We loved the horses on the grounds that come at sunset to graze and wander through. A must stay if your passing through Esperanza.

Sadly, disappointing service overshadowed this beautiful setting. We arrived at the resort tired after 12 hours of travel and were given the wrong room—the smallest at the resort with only one bed instead of the two we'd booked and paid for. We were two friends (not a couple) traveling together and the pullout sofabed was one of the main reasons we'd chosen this resort over other accommodations on Vieques.

Management initially insisted it was our error. Later, they admitted their mistake but couldn't fix it until the next day. We then had to pack up the next day, and vacate our room while waiting for another room. Eventually we landed in \"our\" room which was further from the main resort and therefore had no wifi.

Most frustrating was management's indifference to their mistake. We were promised a room credit for the first night but despite asking daily during our stay and following up repeatedly by email for weeks since returning home, we've not received it.

It seemed they were understaffed for high season as the pool bar was rarely open, and staff seemed stretched thin. The food we were able to eat was very good, but if you have special dietary needs like vegan, vegetarian or gluten free, options were extremely limited.

The one bright spot: the housekeeping staff were wonderful and clearly took pride in their work.

Given the premium rates, we expected better communication and accountability from the Blue Horizon team.

Blue Horizon was everything I wanted it to be... and MUCH MORE !!!... The \"MUCH MORE\" part comes in the form of.. DAVE !!!... MANAGER/CONCIERGE/HOST... he is ALL of these things... and performs every position with APLOMB !!!... Man oh man... Dave checked me in and was a helpful host... IMMEDIATELY !!!!... The guy literally walked me to my room... brushing away palm fronds that dared to be in the way of our path !!!... On the way, he talked about the hotel, the amenities... He explained everything... and, very kindly, asked if there was ANYTHING i needed or wanted to know !!!... He made me feel WELCOMED... he is the personification of \"WELCOMING\"... and, when you are staying on a UNIQUE ISLAND... that is a FANTASTIC THING !!!... DAVE is the SUPERSTAR at BLUE HORIZON, there is NO DOUBT.... but, i must say, that EVERYONE on the STAFF was FRIENDLY, ACCOMMODATING and SUPER HOSPITABLE !!!... As for the HOTEL... WOW, just WOW... a TRUE... and VERY SPECIAL... GEM !!!!!!!!!!... I enjoyed EVERY MOMENT of my STAY !!!

This property should be spectacular but has seen better days. The scenery and pool area are gorgeous but the furniture in both the rooms and the common areas are dingy. The roof leaks in several places. The bar is either not open or poorly staffed. The nightly rate is outrageous given these conditions. I hope they make improvements because it could be a very special place if it were in better condition.

This place was just amazing! Beyond words! First time on the island...We booked it last minute without much review or even looking at pics due to time and had no idea what a spectacular resort it was. The property is stunning, wild horses coming right up to it. Beach access and the best view and pool. What a hidden gem! The food was out of this world. Every single meal was something I had never had before and just blew us away. I'd go for just the food but this place you cannot put into words how beautiful it is. There are just a few resorts on the island, this is definitly number 1 from what eveyone says.

Small and relaxing resort, with no children running around! Beautiful swimming pool in a beautiful setting. We really enjoyed our stay. However we felt slightly misled about beach, which was not easy to access (have to climb down a steep rocky path) from the property, and it was not set up for sitting and not suitable for swimming. Had a couple of issues with electricity in our room and there were only a couple of working plug sockets in inconvenient places. They were also stingy with towels.

This adults-only property is quiet, private, beautifully kept and well staffed. Lovely rooms with all the amenities and even the ac in the rooms works well. Every single person I have enocuntered on the staff has gone above in some way from my check-in, dining, housekeeping, and checkout. The resort is beautiful. The infinity pool and beachfront are gorgeous! We loved being able to walk on the beach and swim in the pool 24 hours a day! We were only there for 1 night and would like to come back in the future.

Lilliam, our host/receptionist, is truly a gem at this resort! She was friendly, helpful, and allowed us to use the amenities before check-in and that made all the difference for us since we did not have our own transportation. Flexibility was much appreciated. She also helped us get transportation at check-out when our other drivers fell through. Thank you so much Lilliam!

Restaurant, bar, and staff were not what we expected and need to be improved to provide an exceptional FULL-resort quality experience. More servers, faster service, higher quality food needed to make this resort experience better!

Rooms were nice. Beds comfortable. Some much needed renovations could make it even better.

my dissatisfaction with my recent experience at your hotel.

During my stay, I observed that one of your female staff members was peering into our room from outside. This invasive behavior was not only unsettling but also made us feel uncomfortable in what should have been a private space.

Furthermore, I found her attitude towards my service dog to be rude and disrespectful. It is crucial for hotel staff to understand that service animals are an essential support for many guests, and they deserve to be treated with kindness and respect. She was at the front desk and being rude and helpless on anything

I urge you to investigate this matter and provide the necessary training to your staff, ensuring that all guests can enjoy their stay without feeling unwelcome or disrespected.

Truly, this resort is a romantic gem, in a spectacular location! We stayed 3 nights, including 3 breakfasts (guava pancakes are yum), and 2 dinners (try the mofongo!).

The ocean-front views were always wonderful: beautiful and relaxing. The pool was delightful, and we were pleased to learn horses no longer roam the property or drink from the pool.

The dirt road in is quite pot-holy, and the stairway to the beach is closed due to erosion.

Our only excursion was a great nighttime boat tour on the bioluminescent bay. Esperanza for us was more enjoyable in the daytime than late at night.

Blue Horizon feels remote, but the destination is well worth the ferry and drive to get there.

This was our second time here, and it was a complete disappointment (crappy room, terrible service, and fraudulent charges)

After booking the room and paying the full amount of $450, we were unexpectedly charged an extra $60 without any prior notice. When we asked for clarification, they provided a receipt that included a $22 energy charge—for just a one-night stay. The most ridiculous part was a $34 charge for the restaurant, even though we never ordered anything.

We did visit the restaurant once, but despite plenty of empty tables, the waitress made us wait 30 minutes before seating us. After finally sitting down, we waited another 15 minutes before she even came to take our order. Meanwhile, we noticed that another table, seated long before us, had been waiting over 1 hour without receiving their food. When we asked the waitress how long the food would take, she responded rudely and condescendingly: *\"How would I know? I'm not the chef.\"*

At that point, we had already waited far too long and simply couldn’t afford to waste more time—we had a plane to catch. Frustrated, we left without ordering anything, only to later find out we were still charged for the restaurant.

To make matters worse, the room was in terrible condition. The shower drain was clogged, the showerhead leaked, and the bathroom door was broken. On top of that, the noise at night was unbearable—there was a constant engine-like sound that made it nearly impossible to sleep.

Restaurant in hotel is expensive, but you can walked out and a bar and convenience store just next to the exit. The beach is beautiful. The road from hotel buildings to exit to the street is not paved and long and every customer complained about it.

It is an amazing place offering a cool chic tropical atmosphere, particularly enjoyable in low season. Swimming in the pool next to the wild horses is quite an experience, the beach next to the property is deserted and very beautiful. Service is thoughtful and dedicated. Restaurant ok but overpriced, the property is barely walking distance from town, no transportation offered. Also some revamping necessary.

Our experience on Blue Horizon was above the expected. The staff's attention was incredible. The food was great. One of my friends didn't feel well and, from front desk to the chef, all made everything they could to make her feel better. The chef made a special soup just for her. It makes me so sad to say this because when initially arriving to the property it is so gorgeous and breathtaking. Dave is so kind and warm and welcoming. He really made me give this location more stars because he really is the best. After initially being told that early check in was possible the day before we arrived at the location to be told no and had to wait 2 and a half hours. It was heavy rain and we were the only people there and the front desk grew rude and impatient with us when we mentioned we were told early check in was possible, that our room would be waiting for us so what were we waiting for exactly? Wild horses roam the property which adds to the esthetic but no one maintains the pathways that are covered in their dung and at night there are no lights so it is like landmines. The room lacks essential needs like hot water, working electrical ports, the refrigerator didnt work, and there is no microwave not only in the room but on the property for public use. You can tell the rooms need to be maintained and upgraded and it is possible Maria really devastated this location and they are still recovering. My boyfriend and I walked around the property and it is beautiful, even the beach is lovely but there is no easy access to it because all stairs have been destroyed. Again with some money and TLC this property could be so much better especially for the price. The pictures on the website oversell the rooms.

alright stay, the hotel just wish we had more options in the hotel. Such as a bar service after 7pm. Beach area you’re not able to swim in it. My partner and I kept getting bit while sleeping. We’re praying it wasn’t bed bugs…. The only beautiful thing I enjoyed was the food inside the hotel and the horses running free. The island is small and you’re able to see it all in the just two days. Rent a car

You have an exceptional team (David and Lilliam) managing this property. They are very customer service oriented, and more than willing to help with any request.
I would rate this as the most favorable property to stay at on the island of Vieques. My only comment about this undeniably pristine view and the chic cabanas dotting this property is that the owners continue maintain and improve this “seaside gem.”
