Nice welcome and upstairs had a good view. Bed was extremely comfortable and we slept well. Sound proofing between rooms seemed non-existent but this didn't interfere with our sleep.

It was a nice room for what I needed but it was a little noisy.
You could hear door banging and unfortunately in the room I was in the people above moving around and the water pipes made a noise too.
When myself or someone else (don't know who) used the cold water be it by the tap or flushing the pipes would vibrate with a droning sound.

We had a wonderful stay at Bells and would stay there again. The only negative comment we have about the hotel is that the walls are very thin and you can hear people walking in the corridor and talking in the adjoining rooms like they are sat next to you. Which when it’s a rowdy bunch of dudes on a golfing weekend means no sleep.

The room was ok. There was no shower gel in the room, the bed was squeaky and you could feel a spring in it. The door lock broke on the room, apparently the battery went in it but when the guy came to fix it he said that it had only happened the week before! The breakfast was average. Frankfurter rather than proper sausages and when I asked for the pain au chocolats they said that I’d have to wait for 20 mins! Ok, they would be fresh but surely they should be replenishing them when they run out?! Also the coffee machine at breakfast had run out.

I wasn't expecting much for 70 pounds a night but I was still disappointed! Terrible rooms, dated and poorly maintained. Bathroom was awful and the rooms had paper thin walls somwas impossible to get a good night's sleep due to noise from next doors bathroom. I will not be coming back ever.

Bell's provided a good base for a pleasant weekend getaway to The Forest of Dean. The room was clean and comfortable - but down to earth; it's probably not the place for those looking for international chain uniformity or city swank, but for our purposes it was fine.

It’s more than a Golf hotel. The club house provides a decent bar food menu from Breakfast at 7.00 through to last orders at 9pm. Very nice staff the golf look Ok and there is bike hire on site also. Overall a great place for our two day bike adventure. 5 stars

Okay but not value for money
Bed was very comfy however the cleanliness of the ensure let the tern of the room down, mould in the shower mat, broken toilet seat, rusty chain in the door and a flush that didn’t work properly. Food was good and reasonably priced - biggest issue however was the noise. We were in room 1 which means everyone walked past us, right on the very squeaky floor boards outside our door. The walls are thin as well so you could hear everything being said.

No free upgrade to the Presidential this time so experienced a standard room which tbf did the job. It could use a bit of a freshen up but for the price it hits the mark.
Bar in country club has a good selection although a bit steep on the pricing. That said a 5 minute walk gets you into Coleford where there are a few other options to go at.
Needless to say I will be back so that is enough of a review in itself.

Great price. Supposedly 24/7 front desk but empty by 21:30. Newly painted room - therefore strong paint fumes. Window was accordingly open when we checked in, but that meant the room was cold. And the heat didn't turn on until morning. Good shower.

Refurbished room was clean and tidy. Stayed 2 nights, room not cleaned due to still implementing covid restrictions. Fresh towels available from reception.

Have stayed many times before. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. Room was ok but the radiator did not work, however this was rectified once reported . The bed was comfortable but there were no bedside cabinets and there was quite a bit of dust , especially in the top of the radiator. Food is good and it’s great to have socialising places in the evening, however, it is looking a bit tired and the comfortable chairs could do with a face lift. Overall , quite enjoyable and we would stay there again.

Pleasant stay Very spacious room - upgraded to a suite. Not too happy to have to go over to clubhouse for food. Would be O.K in summer but not too pleasant on windy winter days. Good location very close to Coleford town. Everyone helpful.
