The honeymoon suite with private plunge pool was lovely. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a large bathroom and shower area. The room was beach front with a small shaded terrace. The food was mixed. Sometimes good and other no so good. Unfortunately we got food poisoning whilst there which ruined the last couple of days stay there.

Absolutely loved our stay at Toa Hotel and Spa! The service was exceptional, with staff who truly go above and beyond. I wish I can give it a 10 star for their service! The rooms are stunning, with private pools and direct beach access. We enjoyed the delicious food made with love, and the beach dinners were unforgettable, complete with an amazing show under the stars. The pools are beautiful, and the whole property feels peaceful and luxurious. If you’re coming to Zanzibar, this is the place to stay. Highly recommended!

From our first arrival we were greeted with cool towels and warm smiles. The staff is amazing!! Esther at the front desk was very accommodating on our last day- our flight wasn't until late at night so got a lovely extra late check out. The food each day was prepared fresh and most delicious! Our room was the honeymoon suite which including a private pool and the maintenance guy always made sure to clean our pool as well. Having beach access from our room was a great plus because we were in the ocean/beach a lot! This place has not seen the last of us!!!

This was an amazing hotel! Great buffet style food and lovely staff. Beautiful ocean front Yoga studio. Small but acceptable gym. Pools were great. Happy hour on the upper deck was nice. Beach at low tide was good for walking but a lot of kelp.

The staff saved us a sandwich because their kitchen was closed and our flight was delayed so they thought of us. That was really nice. The staff is friendly and nice. I was a little disappointed because The sea view is not really sea view. We left a message for the hotel through Expedia to see if they had an airport shuttle but no response. You can see the sea through what looks to be a soon to be construction site. The all inclusive was not in my booking. Only breakfast was included but I didn’t have the energy to argue about it even though the lady at the front desk was polite about it and asked me to check with the day staff. The cleaners are always talking infront of your balcony so I was woken up early a few times. The breakfast was good.

Toa was a w9nderful experience. I came here with my husband after leaving stone town for our anniversary and they did not disappoint. We arrived early ( before check in time) and were accomadated with a temporary room. During this wait period our honeymoom suite qith private pool room was occupied by a couple who had become ill. For our inconvenience we were upgraded to all inclusive. Ali the manager as well as all the staff eent above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. We learned every single persons name and stayed up late many times at the pool bar lauging and learning new songs with the staff. The food was outstanding, different every night and available in the beach. The entertainment was beyond and even got me dancing, not your standard large resort cheesy entertainment. The beach was lovely, high tide good for swimming and low tide you can walk out for at least 500 meters. I would rate this as one of my best stays of all my abroud travels. If you see any poor reviews of this place or the staff, that person must be insane or just not down to have a good time.This was my first time in Africa but wont be my last. Thank you Toa

Toa was the most amazing hotel I have ever stayed at. Truly 5 stars. From the amazing rooms, to the food options. I had dinner on the beach twice during my stay and it was soo romantic and ethereal definitely something I will always remember. Got an amazing massage as well during my stay, I highly recommend using their spa facilities. The staff was the most amazing part, so genuine and each and everyone went above and beyond they anticipated anything I needed and was there before I could ask. As a person who works in the service industry here in New York I can honestly say that their service is the best. I can’t wait to come back with friends and family

The staff was very accommodating and professional. The facility infrastructure was ok. They lost power often but only for short periods of time. The concept was luxurious and wonderful. I'll come back for my 5yr anniversary.

Be mindful, food options are limited but offered onsite in buffet-style.

The customer service at this Hotel is second to none. I am particularly impressed with the food and Beverages Manager Mr Kalei. He is very hardworking and is on top of everything. He made sure we were very comfortable and happy with the service. He is a great asset to the team. The General Manager Mr Ally was very hospitable and humble. The staff are great. Food is great and a lot of healthy options. Staff are honest. Lost my wallet with a lot of money in it and it was taken to the reception without a penny missing. I rate them 10/10

We enjoyed our stay here. This place is very clean, cool atmosphere and greta staff. My only con was that the food was just okay and there is no food, snacks or any other options available easily outside of the set times for meals. No amenities nearby but a great place to get away and relax by the pool and private beach.

We had an amazing stay for our honeymoon. Excellent service and beautiful facilities that are well maintained. Food was consistently great. Nice massages although the spa area is a bit small. The beach itself was not the greatest due to seaweed but the staff did the best to rake it up during low tide. Beautiful pools and swim up bar. Only one area that might make sense to update a bit: For the price, it was odd that there were no sparkling wine options in the all in inclusive package and that certain common beach drinks made with local alcohol were extra (like pina coladas). Perhaps the all inclusive option should include a premium drink per day, or premium drinks are discounted if you're already paying all inclusive rates? Nevertheless we would strongly recommend this hotel and would definitely choose it again in a heartbeat.

TOA hotel was much better than we were expecting, we stayed for 4 nights for our honeymoon. Loads of great things about the hotel are : really modern, clean, great breeze (minimal mosquitos), right by the beach, private beach with lots of sun beds and umbrellas. They had entertainment on a Saturday and the food was really good each night.
It’s about 1hr drive from stone town so that’s the only con if you want to be in that area but it seemed really busy in stone town when we were there so I preferred the east side with beaches.

TOA is a new facility in the as-yet unspoiled Pongwe Beach area. The facility itself is beautiful, and kept immaculately clean. The staff are unfailingly kind, helpful and efficient, and everyone greets you with a smile and warmth. The food is delicious and beautifully prepared, and the grounds and amenities are spotless and carefully maintained. The most memorable part of the stay is the staff; I cannot say enough about how kind and generous they are. I highly recommend a stay at TOA.

We booked an amazing room with a big balcony/patio and a jacuzzi. The welcoming of the staff was amazing, Ester in particular. The all inclusive is great. Many choices, super fresh food and you can even choose a la carte and sparkling wines. The views are amazing. The pool perfect. The only problem this hotel currently have is that there is a construction site right next door. Ask for a room as far from that as possible It's still worth visiting this hotel! We would happily return.

Everything great, as mirrored in my 5 star assessment. Only thing to improve on is the sound/noice level of day and evening entertainment, it is simply too loud. Had to leave the resort some evenings and stay at other places, when I was not in the mood for loud drumming or dancing entertainment. Not even in my room it was bearable to be. Simply half the volume of all these things please.

TOA Hotel & Spa Zanzibar is a fairly new, very clean and cozy resort. The beach isn’t great for swimming, but we knew this at the time of the booking. The pool area is nice, but the water is a bit cold. We booked a room with a jacuzzi, but unfortunately there were quite a few problems with the jacuzzi. They tried to clean and fix the jacuzzi a few times, but the water temperature would not hold comfortable (either too hot or cold) and the jacuzzi kept getting debris from the hosing. The room cleaning took ages and wasn’t completed at one time. Housekeeping came there many times a day and didn’t really respect our privacy. The room was always very clean though. The food was good and nice variability through our stay. The only exception were the dessert cakes, which didn’t have any taste (seems to be the case everywhere in Tanzania). The beach dinner was particularly nice! Special thanks go to waitress Saida and pasta chef Abdillah. They were always very friendly to all guests and took pride in their work. The snorkeling tour booked through Funzibar, that works in TOA, was great. However, beware of booking transportation through them or at least make sure you have extra time for the travel. Both times we did that, the driver wasn’t there at the time of departure. No one was expecting us at the airport when we arrived, and the driver wasn’t there either when we were leaving. Overall, we had a really pleasant stay in TOA. Thank you!

Nous avions la chambre au 2 ème étage (sans ascenseur) qui donnait sur le couloir de nage.
Les 2 derniers jours, nous avons subit les nuisances sonores en continu du groupe électrogène, nous n avons rien dormi de la nuit.
Le Directeur Ali, est très présent, mais n a rien fait pour arranger pour nous satisfaire et par compatir.
Un grand grand bravo à tout le personnel
Et en particulier a Said et au petit stagiaire de la réception qui parle très bien le Français..

Meme si Expedia s’est montré en dessous de tout concernant l’accompagnement lors de la perte de bagages et de la gestion des vols, cela n’enlève en rien a ce lieu magnifique, managé de main de maître par un directeur accessible, prévenant, présent et toujours disponible pour ses hôtes.

Le sejour a été des plus plaisants, notamment de par la qualité des infrastructures et des prestations sur place.

Bilan : n’hésitez pas à vous ressourcer dans ce lieu de rêve mais évitez de passer par Expedia, dont nous partagerons incompétence notoire sur les réseaux sociaux prochainement

Wir haben jede Sekunde im TOA Hotel & Spa genossen und uns super wohl gefühlt. Der Service war fantastisch, ebenso das täglich varriierende hochklassige Essen. Unser Lieblingskellner Steven hat uns immer mit einem Lächeln auf den Lippen bedient. Sehr zu empfehlen sind die morgendlichen Omelettes, die Sarah mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Auch die Mehresfrüchte und der Fisch (Oktopus, Tunfisch, Languste, etc.) waren wirklich hochklassig.
An der Poolbar und an der Beachbar mixen Jeremia und Yemesy sehr leckere Cocktails und bringen diese sogar zur Liege am privaten Strand des Hotels.
Die Animation mit Ismail („Coco“) hat unglaublich viel Spaß gemacht. Gerade das Aquagym mit ihm war ein toller und spaßiger Ausgleich zum vielen Essen und Relaxen. Er hat uns den Urlaub absolut versüsst und hat immer ein Lächeln auf den Lippen und findet für alles eibe Lösung!
Die Zimmer und auch alle Röume des Hotels (inkl. Toiletten) sind jederzeit einwandfrei geputzt. Insgesamt ist das Hotel in einem super Zustand und wirklich toll designt.
Der einzige Negativaspekt während unseres Aufenthalts war eine Gruppe ca. 15 junger Damen, die meinten das Hotel als Partylocation nutzen zu müssen. Dies empfanden wir in den entsprechenden 2-3 Tagen als etwas störend. Es kam einem etwas so vor als hätten sie eine „Sonderbehandlung“.
Alles in allem war es trotzdem ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt und wir können das TOA uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Une merveille à Zanzibar !

Nous étions en vacances en famille avec un enfant de 1 an et notre séjour a été une vraie merveille !

Toute l'équipe est vraiment aux petits soins, et s'assure que votre séjour se déroule pour le mieux. Les chambres sont de très bonne qualité, et elles sont nettoyées 2 fois par jour ! La piscine est superbe. Les cocktails sont très bons !

Nous avons aussi pu utiliser les services d'une baby-sitter pour s'occuper de notre enfant en journée, pendant certains jours.

Un des meilleurs points de TOA est son buffet : il est exceptionnel, renouvelé très régulièrement avec des plats de très grande qualité et variés. Je recommande cet hôtel les yeux fermés : vous passerez un séjour sur un nuage, dans un cadre paradisiaque ! Vous pourrez aussi facilement réserver des excursions sur l'île principale et sur d'autres îles de l'archipel.

The staff is not to be topped, I travel a lot but I have not experienced anything like this! Unbelievable hospitality, thanks to Ally and his team for an unforgettable 13 days!
