Expérience inacceptable. L’accès à l’hôtel implique plus de 80 marches, ce qui rend l’établissement objectivement difficile d’accès, sans que cette contrainte soit clairement mise en évidence lors de la réservation. Durant la nuit, des bruits d’animaux sur le toit ont causé un réel sentiment d’insécurité. La présence d’un animal dans la chambre est particulièrement préoccupante et remet en question les standards d’hygiène et d’entretien. La literie était également inconfortable. Globalement, l’établissement ne répond pas aux standards minimaux attendus en matière de sécurité, d’accessibilité et de confort.

It could be better in my experience… the room and bathroom was decent clean but the pool and outdoor area were not clean enough on my opinion. One of the owner Nathacha was very friendly and sweet lady. The restaurant was very good and variety of dishes but the pizza 🍕 Cooked in the mud oven was delicious.

The staff was very friendly and helpful.We enjoyed the restaurant -the pizza and the atmosphere were great and the service was excellent.There are a lot of stairs to go up to your room, which we did not mind , but if you have any mobility issues I would recommend to book a room at a lower level.The rooms were not as clean as we expected and the plumbing could use some updating in the bathroom.The location was perfect-super close to the beach, top notch restaurants and the national park.

The price for the stay was reasonable and the view was incredible from our room. However we did not realize there were an insane amount of stairs throughout the property and to get to our room was had to climb more than 80 steps. Be aware that this property is in the middle of jungle area so you may see animals from the balcony or even on the property! But with that also comes the potential for bugs ( some scarier than others). Rooms were decently clean but facilities a bit run down, we were not able to enjoy the pool. Due to the recent rain it had become a bit green. The restaurant was FANTASTIC we ate there for dinner once and breakfast once during our stay. Anastasia on the morning team was very sweet to speak with and took pictures of us.

We really enjoyed our stay at La Colina. Natasha is doing a great job with her business and is so easy to communicate with. The food is delicious and it was close to everything. The only downside is the slippery high ascending stairs. Your legs and arms get a workout from carrying luggage and/or a baby.
Would come back again and will continue to sing their praises.

When we arrived at property, we were given a room far inferior to the one we prepaid. We were eventually given the room we booked. There was no key for the safe so we could not use it. The sliding patio door did not lock which meant the room was insecure no place to lock out valuables when travelling to the park. The restaurant was great. The pool did not seem clean. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, however could not give it more stars. The view from the top room was spectacular.

The food was fantastic! The view from the top rooms was amazing. Clean and simple. However, it’s 89 stairs to the top rooms. We had no amenities such as soap, shampoo, etc. one day the water was scalding and we couldn’t get it any cooler. Next day no hot water. I would recommend this hotel, just be aware there is a lot of stair climbing, no toiletries, hit or miss hot water. No coffee pot in room so we forgo coffee rather than climb those 89 stairs!

Very nice place, great staff. Anastasia and Natasha were a great help with directions and calling a taxi for us early in the morning. The pizza is fantastic and a favorite of the locals. A word for the wise., this hotel is not for the elderly or people with walking disabilities. There are a lot of steps and no elevator. We would stay there again.

We stayed in 8 different hotels as we traveled around Costa Rica, and this hotel was by far the worst. Our room was clean and spacious, but that's the only positive I can provide. The the overall condition of the place is very rundown- like an old Motel 6. There was no hot water in bathroom, faucets made loud noises when used, no gas to use the stove, one of the bed mattresses were very hard and uncomfortable, the pool is very small and located in the restaurant dining area, the hotel website states that a breakfast is included but it is not (you must buy breakfast at their restaurant for $12-15 per meal), our room was super noisy from vehicle traffic, and there was no staff anywhere to answer questions or help. We definitely do not recommend this hotel!

The restaurant staff was very courteous. Free breakfast was not included but they prepared breakfast for us early morning (restaurant prices) because we had to leave for our tour.
The wood fired pizza at the restaurant was delicious. They even had live music that day.

Broken piano I my room not against a wall and jutting out half way b/w wall and bed. I asked for three days for to help move it as it only had 2 wheels. The owner asked if I could move it, I said it will take 2 people but I would help. The next two days he said to me “ we’ll get that piano moved”. The bruises on n my hand and foot wouldn’t look so bad if it were operational, as I play piano.

We loved our stay at Hotel La Colina! The hotel is very unique, almost like an Airbnb. We loved having a fully functioning kitchen. The restaurant had live music and friendly staff. The location is also fantastic, with Quepos and Manuel Antonio both less than a 10 minute drive away. 10/10 would recommend!

The setting is beautiful, with a decent view of the Pacific from the restaurant. The price of the setting is that there are a lot of stairs! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Everything was very very clean. I was very grateful for the effective air conditioning, but it was rather loud.

The restaurant at the property was excellent. If you need a room for a large family, this is for you. While the room was obviously old and outdated, it was clean and had a small kitchenette. Beware, there is no elevator, so prepare to haul your luggage up many stairs. All of the people there were really nice. It was very quaint.

The place is rustic. Very rustic.
It’s pretty quiet, and in a good location between Quepos and Manuel Antonio. Limited parking. The whole site is built on a hill - so be aware that there are over 80 steps to the top rooms!
Very little hot water - and no shampoo/shower gel provided. Towels are poor quality. AC is very strong, really good. Fridge in room is a decent size. No TV or phone. Wifi is patchy.

They upgraded us to an ocean view room which was very beautiful! The AC was really nice to have since it is so humid and the room was cleaned regularly. The breakfast had a pretty good amount of options and the cook was helpful & kind. The only things we had issues with were that the pool was not clean so we did not swim in it & sometimes the staff was not at the desk and would not come when the bell was rung. Important to keep in mind that we came during their off season so they are not super busy. Overall, a pretty good experience especially for the cheap price.

I like the location. I rented the room with 2 full beds and 2 twins. Our room is in bad need of renovation. Termites have had their fill in this room. Holes in the wood on the windows, a termite pile under one of the beds. Curtains did not close on the front side of the room. The curtain was hemmed at an angle so when you closed it there was a foot of window exposed. black algae in lower pool.
I paid 2 extra nights in fees to have a third guest and EVERYDAY we only received 2 towels.

BUT with all that said I still had a good time there. If your thinking it's a resort it's not. It's as close to living like a TICO as you can get and still have AC at night.

This place is pure magic! A hidden away gem in the jungle. The pool is wonderful, and the staff were great. Tons of cute geckos, funny iguanas, and gorgeous birds everywhere. If you are looking for fancy, go elsewhere. If you are looking for a unique, fun, and comfortable home in the midst of the diverse flora and fauna of Manuel Antonio, look no further. Clean, friendly, and true to the spirit of Costa Rica.

My only (small) issues were that there were no toiletries provided, as they said there would be (no biggie-I had my own), and it would've been great if there was a way to keep a tab at the bar/restaurant.

AC broke on 2nd night, they moved us to another room where the breaker for the AC also broke, it was complete crap service. When I complained about the issue they simply said \"there is nothing we can do about it\".

The property details advertised on expedia did not match the property. There is no plung pool for each room , no kitchen , barely any light in the rooms , My kids room did could not be locked so was very unsafe. No toiletries were provided . I requested for shampoo and the owner point blank said no. The rooms are very dated and the AC barely worked my room. There are too many steps to go the rooms and the description says its wheelchair accessible .. not sure if they plan to carry the guests upstairs . On seeing the condition of the hotel when I asked to move out the next day and requested that I be charged for 1 night stay instead of 2 nights , the owner refused. Please do not book here . We left the hotel in middle of night since it was so bad though they 'upgraded' us the 'queen rooms' from standard room. Lot of false advertising . I will be calling expedia to have them remove the false advertising from expedia website so that others don't get fooled like we did and pay ridiculous prices to book this hotel

Our room was nothing like the property listed. Pictures must have been taken a long time ago. Windows covered in pain, tile falling off, locks broken, dirty/stained sheets and towels, etc. Also, very important to know, there are a million stairs, you’ll have to cover about a 100 steps every time you’re leaving your room or heading there. When it rains, these stairs are a scaring rink. Parking is very tight and the road near the property is unsafe, it takes some effort to pull in and get back on the road.

En general el servicio es regular, si el plan es solo llegar a dormir y estar todo el día en la playa entonces es aceptable. Sin embargo, me parece que al hotel le falta que le hagan bastante mantenimiento y que se encuentra descuidado, por ejemplo, nos costó demasiado abrir la puerta de la habitación ya que estaba medio trabada, así mismo la ducha no funcionaba, salían pequeñas gotas y eso dificultó bastante poder bañarse, así mismo cuando dimos aviso de la ducha nos dijeron que eso se podía arreglar hasta que nos fuéramos.. o sea, no solucionaron, además las puertas de la ducha estaban en mal estado. La piscina no se veía en muy buen estado, se veía que le faltaba limpieza. Por último, al gallo pinto le faltaba salsa lizano, culantro y cebolla.. definitivamente podrían meterle mas sabor. En general como dije si solo quieren dormir ahí pasa la prueba, sin embargo yo no volvería.

The place is ok. We were upgraded to an ocean view for $32 extra. The place is expensive for the rooms they offer. The room can use some better cleaning especially in the bathroom. The towels and shower curtain are over used. Eventhough we were 3 people, the room is only condition for 2. Two towels, two chairs in the balcony, two glasses.
It feels like they have things just to say they have it but they dont really have a purpose. The mirror in the batroom and shower caddy are so high that shorter people cannot reach. There is not enough space for hangging wet clothes. The curtains are so wrinkle you can't close them completely. The balcony had 2 folding chairs not very comfortable.
The pool needs some painting and on our last day we couldn't use it because no one came to clean it and it was full of bugs.
On the other hand the breakfast and view were great.
Would'nt recommend for families. There is a lot of stairs and balconies are not safe for children.

Nice, affordable spot near Manuel Antonio

La Colina was in a good location right in between Manuel Antonio and the town of Quepos. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful and even upgraded our room to a beach front view. Be warned though, there are many steps to get to the rooms so if you have a lot of luggage, this may not be the best option. The breakfast in the morning was very good, although on the weekend it took a very long time to arrive. They also have a steakhouse restaurant. The front desk staff were helpful in calling about tours for us and there is parking on site. The room was pretty nice, although we did have a lot of ants coming in, but that is most likely just due to the location. Overall it was a nice stay.

This is a very good no-frill hotel. We highly recommend if it works with your budget to upgrade to the ocean view rooms. Wonderful to sit out on the patio in the morning and evening watching the birds and the ocean. These rooms are significantly less noisy than the jungle rooms. The staff are great. The location is a short walk to the bus which will take you to the beach. A variety of restaurants are walking distance away. No beach towels or coffee maker are provided and the safe is an additional cost. Lots of steps to your room if that is a concern for you. Loved waking up to the sounds of Howler monkeys and songbirds.

Nice hotel in Manuel Antonio

This hotel is close to the beach.Natasha was accomodating and welcoming though we checked in late.The restaurant at the hotel was still open and we had good dinner.Understandably , insects noted on the floor due to tropical environment(comes with the territory- not an issue) .The base of the toilet in room #6 was leaking and also water was noted leaking from the left side of the bedroom ceiling.Reported the situation to Nastia upon checkout and she called repair right away. Will recommend this hotel to friends and family and will not hesitate to book again in the future.

Needs a little updating. For the price it was ok. Could use a door handle on the inside of the door instead of fighting with the deadbolt to get out of the room. Watch out for the upstairs a/c unit as it drips right over the doorway. Huge scary looking spider and web over walkway to the pool.

I do like the property overall....good food, friendly staff Nd good rate for the person on a budget. Free breakfast in the morning was good as well.

You could see the wild animals right near your room. The location is perfect in the middle of Quepos and Manuel Antonio.

Room with a view

Mike, the owner and chef par excellence, was very friendly, helpful and charming. The hotel is on top of the hill, we had the top room and killer views of the sunsets.The food in the restaurant was excellent but quite pricey. It has a nice friendly vibe with super cool band performing on Wednesdays. Not far from town and beaches, but has two small pools.Lots of stairs!

Don't read I want to keep this place a secret

This was one of my favorite hotels in Costa Rica and I've stayed in quite a few of them. They upgraded me to a ocean view room which made it so much more special and what a sunset we had that night, it was breathtaking. The breakfast was delicious the pool was fun and unique but definitely not a lap pool. Everyone seemed to be talking to each other and having a great visit. The staff were off the chain helpful. I would like to go back before I end my trip and stay in room 9 or 10. They have the best view of the ocean and jungle.

Great economical base camp

This is a no frills hotel but clean and comfortable with plenty of hot water.
Views are amazing. Monkeys were on the balcony in the morning. Would recommend for an economical base camp. Hosts are very accommodating and friendly.

Wouldn’t go back!

The pool was green our entire stay. The AC died and the mama get said it was our fault for not turning it off when we went out. Never an apology.

The staff went above and beyond especially the young man who works reception in the mornings and afternoons who no doubt has the best customer service skills EVER! For a first time trip to Manuel Antonio i couldnt have imagined anyone else being as helpful!!!
