My wife became sick during our stay. The staff was incredible from the late night guards who helped me with new bed linens at 3:30 am to the girl working the front desk who helped me with a taxi to the pharmacy for meds. The wait staff in the restaraunt prepared tea for my wife. I cant say enough good things about this hotel. Thank you so much for all your help

Room was huge - king bed, and not one chair or coffee table. Bathroom fixtures were terribly old and mold around the shower and tiles. Poorly furnished for sure. Bed was comfortable but only had bedsheets. Had to ask for two blankets. Breakfast was good! Quiet area.

The hotel was very convenient, steps from oasis and all shops and restaurants. I suspect property was gorgeous twenty years ago but I think it likely hasn’t had much for updates since then. It has very nice bones, garden, pool were nice but the rooms definitely could use some renovation, very dated. We didn’t spend time in the room as it was small and very basic but it met our needs for the one night we stayed. Air conditioning was great but toilet was very sensitive, didn’t flush well and we had to ask for it to be fixed within an hour of our stay. I will say we asked for it to be fixed and it was within ten minutes. Breakfast was nice in the morning, basic but hot and had toast and eggs and fresh fruits. All in all the property was nice, service great, location great but the rooms could use some renovations to make it a great resort. For one night would recommend staying there though. It met our needs fine.

Overnight stay in Huacachina

Huacachina is an amazing place. Mostly hostels but the DM Mossone looked to be a higher quality. Easy check in and beautiful gardens in the central courtyard. Our room was a really good size with a huge comfortable bed. The resort is lively and we could hear a lot of partying from adjacent hostels. Despite this had a good night sleep and the breakfast started at 06.00 so we were able to eat before our pick ip to Nazca at 06.45. The breakfast was buffet but had a good selection of fruit, cereals breads and scrambled eggs. We did have a quick swim in the pool which was a good size and lovely and quiet.

I can honestly say this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff, the lack of cleanliness and quality of the room and the food at breakfast were all well below the standard you would expect.

Upon arrival I gave over my passport to aid in finding the reservation, the gentleman wanted my boyfriends passport and continued to tell me we didn’t have a reservation… I explained the reservation was in my name not that of my other half, but he continued to search for his name, after 10mintues of him rudely telling us we didn’t have a reservation I asked to see the list off him and found my own name, he eventually conceded that we did have a reservation and gave me a key. When I asked where our room was another member of staff appeared took the room number and marched off leaving us in his wake as we navigated the cobbles with our bags!

The room itself was terrible, light fittings and plug sockets hanging off the wall, with exposed wires. The plug sparked when you plugged anything in!

There were no towels in the bathroom, and although there was aircon, you couldn’t have it on while sleeping as it sounded like a jet engine taking off! There were also a number of woodlice in the room!

Upon checkout we handed in the key and we walked around the corner to continue our onward journey only to be chased down by a member of the staff in his car who was shouting at us in the street for stealing their towels… I was speechless !!

A beautiful, quiet hotel with a stunning inner courtyard. Our room was basic and the furniture could do with an update but overall comfortable. Appreciated the a/c, extra blankets and fluffy towels. Great shower pressure with hot water. Definitely a great place if you're a family or couple looking for a quiet place to stay, versus the loud party atmosphere at Wild Rover Hostel. Super walkable and close to the main boardwalk around the oasis. Highly recommend!

This is one of the largest hotels in huacachina. The facility is beautiful. The room is sizable and comfortable. The staffs were nice with a security guard at the entrance. Easy check in and check out process. The breakfast was decent. Unfortunately, our room was located in the back that’s near a loud restaurant or bar. The music was quite loud until about 10 am. Other than this issue, everything else was great.

It’s a big nice style building with a beautiful garden in the courtyard, close to the lake and surrounded by huge dunes. Bedding, towels,etc were clean. The staff is super friendly and cordial. Breakfast was great (fried eggs, sausage, cheese and meat, fresh fruit, breads and fresh juice).
Being located in such an old building this hotel definitely has problems- it’s pretty outdated, the toilet was clogged when we got there (once we reported the problem though the staff got to the room immediately to fix that) and there was barely any hot water for a morning shower. They provide only bath towels, no hand towels or a foot towel and the floor is very slippery for wet feet. The swimming pool (which was the main reason why we chose this place) was closed at the time of our arrival (around 7.30 pm) and didn’t get to open till 10.30am in the morning, and since we had to leave at 11 am there was no way for us to use it.
But being located in such an old building this hotel definitely has its problems- it’s pretty outdated, the toilet was clogged when we got there (once we reported the problem though the staff got to the room immediately to fix that) and there was barely any hot water for a morning shower. They provide no hand towels or a foot towel and the bathroom floor is VERY slippery for wet feet. The pool (which was the main reason why we chose this place) was closed at the time of our arrival (around 7.30 pm) and didn’t get to open till 10.30am in the morning after we left.

Muy amables las personas en el hotel, aunque al principio se confundieron y me dieron un cuarto que aun no estaba limpio, pero solucionaron el problema y se disculparon. Y si alguien va recuerdo que hay que pagar un impuesto extra cuando haces el check in, pero no es mucho. Me encanto el jardin esta hermoso y se siente una paz enorme. Te lo recomiemdo. Pretty grounds, perhaps it was a monastery before so it is old and outdated. The room didn’t have hand or feet towel and I had to ask for it. Seems that they are understaffed because we asked for a drink at the pool and after 30 minutes we had to cancel because we were going back to our room. Pool was ok. At night they kept the lights off in the halls so we had to use our phone flashlight to see the way to our room. Breakfast was average.

This property definitely fell short of our expectations; though the check-in process was relatively painless (they speak very little English, if any), the rooms were not as we expected. It felt like walking into a motel; the shower was moldy and there were a few spider webs around the room. The bed comforter/sheets didn't feel clean, and overall cleanliness was lacking.
The courtyard was beautiful, and due to cold weather we didn't get to use the pool.

The property is very nice but this is very misleading. The room are dirty. I found many insects in the bathroom, the water of the shower was cold after about 2 minutes and the water could not go in the shower drain, it was blocked. Rooms are disgusting. Breakfast had very limited options, even if this was a buffet, this was the worst I had in my travel. They definitely need to remodel the rooms, for this price, it does not worth staying there at all.

Loved the location right on the oasis. This is a historic property, the first resort in the area. We really enjoyed the pool area. Bird song woke us every morning due to the beautiful garden in the courtyard.
It is an old building with a lot of wear and tear and cleanliness in the bathroom was an issue due to presence of ants.

The hotel is in a nice colonial building. However, the rooms haven't been maintained for years - cabinets are broken, or even missing (we only had a bedstand on one side of the bed).
The main complaint about the hotel is the noise - there was extremely loud music from a nearby bar until early morning.

We enjoyed staying at the DM Mossones. The hotel was centrally located near the shops, restaurants and lake. When we walked through the main entrance, we were pleasantly surprised by the lovely and peaceful garden plaza at the center of the building. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was small but nice. The attached bathroom was clean. My wife really liked the breakfast buffet that was served at the hotels restaurant. My biggest gripe was the lack of electrical outlets in the room and the lack of a heater in the room, which apparently is common in Peruvian hotels. Overall, the hotel was great and we would stay there again.

Security at front entrance didn’t recognize us and each time would ask our room number even though we had walked by 5 minutes earlier. Security almost wouldn’t let me into the pool because I didn’t have my room key ( partner was already in the pool area with room key). The stay was ok, which honestly is being generous. Very overpriced for the area. The room smelled of smoke and had very little ventilation and natural light. Also, the first room they put us in, you couldn’t lock the door. Rooms are really basic, look like individual rooms you could book at a hostel, was surprised it was a 3 star hotel. We were not informed of a free breakfast. Overall pretty disappointed in our stay. We admittedly didn’t go to the pool or use the pool, which may have been the highlight of the hotel. The hotel is located in a great area and had a beautiful courtyard, but the rooms leave a lot to be desired.

Nothing like the pictures!!! Buggies running up and down all night. Place is dirty. The breakfast was the worse people’s kids were sticking their fingers in the milk , fruits , can’t say about anything else because it was all gone....

I definitely won’t go back and I hope others see this and think twice before spending their hard earn money..

The first thing about this place is that pictures on the web are a fraud these pictures are back probably 40 years ago, our first day was raining and water was pouring in the hallways and this water got into our room, plus water was pouring in the washroom from the roof.
The repairs in our room were not been kept up to date, the carpet was dirty and ripped, the board frames were broken in another words this was a disaster. The restaurant service was terrible, very slow , they have no place in the restaurant to prepare the bills they have to go to the adm .office to get it done. I requested a partial refund but they just ignored me
I won't recommend this place to nobody.

The lovely gardens in the courtyard are a constant source of tranquility. That being said the pool is kind of a disaster. With a relatively small investment it could be fixed.

The hotel is not so well maintained which seemed ok for the start. During our stay it was raining and the ceiling started dripping water over the bed. The hotel staff was not quick nor helpful in providing a solution, they had no rooms available so offered us to move to another room with a leak in it or a room with no ac that was super hot from all day.
Every night during the stay we got up due to mosquito bites as the room is not sealed well. The toilet had bugs and flies in it all the time.
I must add that after the nightmare night of rain water on our bed and water dripping from the ceiling they denied a request of any sort of compensation! Shame on that place...

I believe one of the best hotels in Huacachina, you can have a quiet night, but close to all the fun at night. Clean, ok beds, free parking (I had a rental), the only downside was I had to leave before breakfast started (I let them know the night before) and they didnt even have coffee available. Great place to stay after a long drive and if you have to do the sand dunes tours in the afternoon.

The room was quite expensive and not worth the price. I was really disgusted by the experience. There were stains on the sheets, something that looked like dried up vomit near the toilet that had not been cleaned, a disturbing odor, the TV did not work, the noise from outside was so loud and I couldn't get the windows to close, there was hair all over the bathroom upon arrival and the shower curtain rod literally fell on me as I was exiting the bathtub/shower. When I complained the next day, absolutely nothing was done to compensate me or refund me for anything. I was simply offered access to the lunch buffet and no apology was given. 100% the worst hotel experience I've ever had.

One of the more pleasant hotels in Hauchina. It’s quite large, though could use updating. The town is pretty dirty with all of the surrounding sand, but the hotel does its best to stay clean. It is not a party spot!

A little shabby but likely typical for Huacachina. Clean and presentable but they could afford to invest in some upgrades, like new carpet in the rooms, and a mirror in the bathroom (there wasn’t one). Restaurant was good! Ground are lovely.

Beautiful Oasis

This building is amazing. The courtyard is peaceful and and a great place to relax by the fountain. The location is excellent right on the water and close to everything. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and the dining room is very large and spacious with dining out on the terrace overlooking the water.

Huacachina is a small place and it is sometimes hard to find a hotel there! We are glad we booked DM Mossone. The room has no view, but the property itself (and the bar) overlooks the lake and it was so nice to sip the free welcome Pisco Sour on the veranda! The rooms were huge with large king-size bed. The only hip-up was that the employee lady who presented our room to us said the contents of the fridge were included in the rate, but at the end we discovered that there was a separate charge for them, like a mini-bar. No one really apologized for their employee's mistake.

The rooms are a little dated but the room and the bathroom were very spacious and clean. The grounds are beautiful and the location is very good. Mostly quiet except for Saturday night. Very loud music till 6:00am in the morning,😜 but the other nights were fine. If you are in your 20's, though,it's a fun time on Saturday nights

The courtyard is very nice. The hotel looks grand but the room definitely needs some upgrades.
The room main light does not work and I told the staffs about it immediately after I entered the room (about 2pm). Two staffs came and flip the switches to confirm that it does not work and that was the last I saw them. Light wasn't fix when I checked out of the hotel. Comparatively for the price I paid relative to what the other hotels charges, it could be a lot better.

Disappointing

The grounds of the hotel were stunning, an old hacienda with gleaming floors and amazing gardens. But the rooms were dark, dingy, old, dated, the paint was peeling, plug ins were falling out of the wall, etc. Upside was that they were at least clean. The service was fairly prompt but it doesn’t seem the hotel caters to foreigners as no one spoke English at all. The food at the restaurant was horrible. And on the second night, raging dance music began sometime after midnight and didn’t let up until well after 3am. Wouldn’t recommend this spot to travellers without Spanish or with standards of cozy or even halfway modern amenities.
