Breakfast was nice. You can tell the owners have put a lot of care/work into this property. My only complaint is the curtains need to be blackout; the exterior lights shown into my room all night.

Really enjoyed our stay!! The cabin was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious with lots of hot choices.
Only suggestion would be to put information about WiFi, breakfast and local information in the room itself. We had to hunt to find this as internet was spotty and the link provided in our email didn’t work. Otherwise it was a delightful stay!!

This was a cute little getaway for my wife and I. The cabins were in good shape but stickers on the wall to tell me that the water in the shower was backwards doesn't tell me they are well maintained. There was moldy coffe grounds in the coffee maker and the ac didn't put out cold air. The fan had no remote or setting for you to turn it up so it was set on the lowest setting barely moving air on a hot july night. The hot tubs worked but definitely not cleaned they even had a message on their display that said 16 days over due for cleaning. There is no staff on site you have to contact them through a messaging service but no one responded at all. This is a great concept, but for the price you pay for these cabins, they should be better maintained and staff should be easily contacted.

Upon arrival the room is just as advertised. It’s a very nicely decorated and updated room and bathroom. The small window unit kept the room cold. The bed was soft but not too soft…I found it very comfy. 2 out of the 4 pillows were nice. The shower was nice..no complaints there. Available breakfast: hot eggs, bacon and seasoned potatoes along with the carb. items that you can toast, biscuits & gravy, cereal, some grab and go items. Juice, milk and coffee. The only complaint was that our particular room #24 is situated directly below the living quarters of the owners I'm assuming. Around 2-3 am my husband and I was woke up from the banging coming from above. Then again at 5:40 am. I had a hard time falling asleep so I did not get very good rest due to being woke up several times from noise above. The property was quaint & updated. Just request an upstairs room or rent a cabin and the noise from above won’t be an issue!

We had a wonderful stay! The area is beautiful, the location is excellent, and the cabin was cozy, comfortable, and perfect for a couple. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed.
We didn’t use the hot tub because we spent our time relaxing at the Pagosa hot springs resort instead. We only saw the staff once when we arrived, but we were busy exploring the area and didn’t need anything during our stay.
We noticed that some of the other cabins accommodated guests with large dogs, so it seems each cabin has different rules and sizes. Our cabin did not allow dogs, which was fine since it was on the smaller side and best suited for two people.
The location is fantastic! There’s a small, peaceful lake nearby, the hot springs are only about 8–10 minutes away, Treasure Falls is about 10 minutes away, and Walmart is just 18 minutes away. We also found several great restaurants within about 18 minutes, including Thai Pagosa and Faire Society Café & Patisserie for an excellent breakfast.
Overall, it was a comfortable, quiet, and relaxing place to stay, and we’d definitely recommend it.

First, I am totally not dismissing this hotel. It was an interesting and different experience for us, and we're retired. We did not meet any staff until just before checkout, when we were asked if we needed any help. The vending area had no vending. The hot tubs were two outdoor hot tubs that were on an uneven deck, and were like hot tubs you'd have at home. Most all of the rooms face the state highway, so there is some noise. We were on the first floor and the noise above us was a lot, but didn't keep us from falling asleep. Our room was VERY clean and the mattresses and bedding very, very comfy. There are no nearby services. The property has been remodeled, repurposed, and updated. Stay here, especially for a night or two (or more if a cabin but I don't know what to expect there). This is not a Palmer Hotel, or a Marriott, etc. It's someone's dream and business and worth the stay.

They automatically checked me in and gave me all the information I would need for my stay. The breakfast was very nice. The location was so beautiful. Don’t stay in any one room other than the cabin options. The other rooms feel too tiny, claustrophobic. There wasn’t much space to bring your bag in or get in the door with hitting the bed. Otherwise cabins are great! Stayed night one in cabin slept amazing, night two regular room second night power out from 4pm to 1:30am. Didn’t sleep so uncomfortable

We were disappointed with the amount of space. There was hardly room enough to move around and not even a chair for sitting was available. We booked through a third party and I suppose that is why we had such a small room. Looking into another room the next day gave us a surprise. There was much more room! The place was clean and easy to get into, although not having an office on the premises was different for us. The breakfast was good and we enjoyed it. We do like firmer beds, however. This one sank just a bit. Of our four days in motels/hotels on the way to Pagosa Springs, this was the most expensive and smallest room. Pay more to get a better room seems to be the results of this stay.

My turn offs were: parking - where our room was I could not see our vehicle which made me a bit nervous but not a huge deal. The bathroom wasn’t totally clean. When I went to shower there was hair all over the bath which was a turn off. The bathroom trash also wasn’t empty . Whoever stayed there before us obviously vaped in the room because of the smell and vape trash left in the bathroom. Then the noise - it was noisy with people coming and going all hours of the night.

Check-in was done through texts and an "officeless" procedure. A room key-code was texted to me before my arrival. Letting myself in, I found a very small but clean room that had clearly been remodeled recently. My room was in a back wing of the lodge away from the highway, which seemed quieter. Instructions had indicated we were to park in our appropriate parking space (same as room number) but I found no parking spots with markings. No matter, there was space available. The Lodge is 4-5 miles from town and there was no type of food (vending or otherwise) at the establishment, so if you don't want to venture back to Pagosa Springs for supper, make sure you have food with you! Walls of the units seemed rather thin, so I could hear other folks' televisions well into the night. Overall, my stay was fine. Breakfast was good. The country setting appeals to me. I would stay there again.

Staff was friendly and accommodating.

A down fall would be the walls and ceilings were not soundproof at all. Pretty noisy. Luckily I could get over that.

Lucky I brought my own coffee maker.

All in all, I would probably stay again.

The best part of our stay was breakfast. The food was varied and delicious and the attendant was really nice. The dining area was clean.

The only thing I didn't care for was check-in. There isn't a front desk/lobby, so you have to call a number and wait for the person to put you in the system. That took about 20 minutes.

We booked two nights under separate reservations due to a change in circumstances/plan. I contacted the property via text as they requested, and asked them to combine the reservations so we didn’t have to move rooms etc and could use the same door code. Mind you there is no office to go to, just an online check in system and texting. The confirmed the reservations merged, perfect.

Fast forward to our second day, suddenly the door code expired (at the 11 am check out time, even though they were supposed to combined) and couldn’t get back into the room. Texted the office several times to try to get a new code/completed a new check in page online and got no response. After about 30 minutes of several texts and no answers, i called the phone number (which I had previously called regarding the reservation
Concern and got no answer) they answer, and give me the new code. Sounds good. Go to enter the code, still doesn’t work. Thankfully one of us is in the room at this point and my husband was on the outside and able to be let in. Several texts about the code not working, never got an answer or a response, i asked if they could make sure the code was activated, nothing. The code never ended up working. So we were essentially stuck inside since we wouldn’t have been able to get back in.

This place is great! The cabin is lovely and quiet, and the breakfast is a free hotel breakfast that's worth eating! The cabin was clean and very cozy. The hot water does take a minute to warm up, and our cabin had a kitchen outlet that wasn't working and phone charging ports on the nightstand that also didn't work. This was not at all a huge deal, especially when you look at the very reasonable price of this place compared to many hotels in the area. We loved it and we'll be back for sure.

Only 1 hot tube other locked, shut off at 9pm . Hit water to shower took a bit to get like way over 5 minutes almost got out started to freeze before it warmed up an not hot just warm. As a base camp, this property worked well. The cabin was clean and the bed was comfortable. The water pressure and temperature were good. The wi-fi was pretty weak, which we were warned about early in our booking. There does need to be some work done on the property itself. The roads were ok but everything else was really just sparse. We never could figure out where the private hiking trail was. I don't quite know how a person would actually play Frisbee golf because they would have to throw around the cabins and parked cars. We had no interaction with staff except for when we went to breakfast. The breakfast was average and the people who were there were friendly. Would stay again for a short stint, but not for a long trip. This place can be a gem with just a bit of work on the grounds.

Waited an hour trying to get checked in. Lady on the phone didn’t offer to come greet me, let me into the office (closed at 8- I checked in at 8:38 pm and told her I need to badly use the restroom!). Blamed poor internet for not letting me get into my room but made no attempt other than “sending a check in text” to assist me. Was VERY rude with me when I requested to cancel stating, “I guess if you can’t wait a few minutes to get checked in!” I had waited FIFTY THREE minutes at this point. I will not attempt to stay here again!

Overall our stay was enjoyable, I loved the setup of the room and the aesthetic.

The checkin process was a bit awkward. I got two texts with checkin info with different codes. I read the checkin text to say we could message for requests during our stay. We were short on towels and messaged but no response, not a big deal we found towels at the spa.

Last thing is just that only one of the hot tubs were open, it would have been nice to have the second as there was another group there when we arrived.

Wine opener is needed in kitchen supplies.

We enjoyed staying here. The bonus was that the room is renovated and clean. The breakfast in the mornings is excellent. The lodge is right next to à lake often visited by Canadian geese and ducks so they can be heard which is nice. The only negative is that it’s hard to sleep in late because we believe the building is older and you can hear everyone’s footsteps going down the wooden path and up the stairs (we were in a room next to the stairs).

I recently stayed at High Creek Lodge & Cabins and overall had a good experience. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, and the room itself was cozy and comfortable. It’s a great spot if you’re looking to relax and enjoy the area.

That said, there were a few cleanliness issues. Some of the dishes were dirty, and the room could have used a more thorough deep clean. With a little more attention to detail on housekeeping, this would easily be a 5-star stay. Overall, still a nice place with a lot of potential.

If you’re headed to Pagosa Springs, do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place.

I booked what was listed online as a “standard queen” room. I have stayed in many standard queen rooms before — this was nothing close to standard. The room was so unbelievably small there were maybe 12 inches of space around the queen-sized bed. There was no dresser, no luggage rack, no closet space — absolutely nowhere to put bags or personal belongings. The only option was to stack everything on the floor and tuck it as close to the bed as possible just to be able to walk around.

I have never been in jail, but I imagine a cell would be more spacious and accommodating than this room.

The shower was another disappointment. It never got hot — only lukewarm at best. After a long day, a hot shower shouldn’t be too much to ask.

And don’t plan on looking presentable while you’re there. There is no iron and no ironing board anywhere in the room or on the property. So if you stay here, plan on staying wrinkled.

Customer service was nonexistent. There is no human contact at this place whatsoever. I texted the host to ask if there were any possibilities of upgrading to a larger room, hoping for some kind of assistance. I waited…and waited. Finally, on day two, I received a text from the hotel’s number. I thought it might be a response addressing my question. Instead, it was simply a message reminding me that I needed to be out by 11 a.m. the next day.

No follow-up. No acknowledgment.

The checkin and checkout process was easy. The room was clean and nice but the frig didn't keep stuff cold, only the freezer worked. They were just a text away if we needed anything.
The breakfast was fresh, hot and yummy every morning and there is also grab and go breakfast if you prefer. Parking is fine too as long as the other guest follow the rules. Wifi is iffy at times unless you are in the breakfast area due to the location and of course the mountains. Nice location and cute little place.

Clean room. Good shower. Comfortable bed. Working HVAC system. Kind staff, while preparing breakfast, provided me with two cups of coffee extra early, well before normal opening. Much appreciated!

Muy bonito lugar lo único malo es que no existe una recepción, tienes que llamar y también no hicieron la limpieza estuve dos días y por alguna razón no tendieron las camas ni me dieron toallas limpias Pero estaba muy bonito y limpio así que no tengo quejas nos la pasamos muy bien 100% recomendado. Si me volvería a quedar aquí
