had a very nice stay at Hótel Jökulsárlón. The hotel was clean, the room was comfortable and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall, I was very pleased with the accommodations.
The only negative experience was during dinner at the restaurant. Our waiter never stopped by our table to ask how the food was, whether we needed anything, or if everything was satisfactory. At the same time, he appeared to be checking on the surrounding tables regularly. This made me feel overlooked and somewhat uncomfortable. I can't say for certain why this happened, but it gave the impression that we were being treated differently from other guests.
Aside from that dining experience, the hotel itself was excellent, and I enjoyed my stay. I would recommend it for its clean facilities, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff.

The property is amazing. Very beautiful. The room was so nice, they have thought of absolutely everything. The bed was so comfortable. The hot tubs are outside with a large natural pool for a cold plunge and there is also a sauna. Our dinner was 5 star. The food was so delicious. We would highly recommend.

1. Excellent location to Glacial lagoon and \"Diamond Beach\".
2. Restaurant is exceptional...cocktails, food and atmosphere exceeded expectations.
The Not so Good-
1. Room had a strong odd B/O smell. Tried to ventilate with open windows, fan, and several spritzes of perfume...to no avail.
2. Even though half of Iceland sits on geothermal base....this hotel does not seem to have hot water. A Luke warm shower was disappointing.
Perhaps these were one offs...

This hotel is top notch. Beyond beautiful with wonderful amenities. There are 3 hot tubs and a sauna with beautiful views. There is also a small pond to take a cold dip in if you dare! The breakfast was delicious and the service was wonderful. The lobby is beautiful and a comfortable place to hang out in. Parking is included.

The room was spacious and quiet. The bathroom was perfect and the coffee in the room was appreciated. It was replenished each day. The room cleaning service was also very nice.

The only con for us was the room had a strong smell like body odor. It was extremely apparent as soon as we opened the door. We debated on informing the hotel but thought it would be remedied by opening the window. It was not fixed by opening the window. We then thought it was too late to inform the staff. This con is slightly on us for not informing staff. But we were tired when we arrived and didn’t feel like dealing with it.

However, the bottom line is that this hotel is beautiful, with great service, and I would highly recommend staying here for a luxurious experience in a remote part of Iceland.

Nice hotel that was conveniently located to a couple activities I was doing. The three hot tubs and sauna directly tied to the cold water lagoon are fantastic. The problem with this hotel as I found that the front desk staff were patiently disinterested when I arrived. With the largest issue is that there is nowhere else to eat in the vicinity and the hotel charges exorbitant amount for drinks and meals. We had the tasting menu and together with 2 glasses of wine the price tag was near 400 CDN. The service staff in the restaurant were plate, attentive, and efficient. The food at best, average, but way overvalued. You are clearly paying extra for the view and the hotel’s belief that is a high end resort. The poor bartender on the main floor was completely overwhelmed and we had to wait 15 minutes for drinks. Well other staff stood on the stairs talking. The next night I stayed in an another hotel not too far away in a town. The food was significantly better than the total stay was less than half of when I paid to stay indeed here. This simply isn’t good value and I would recommend that guests to the area look elsewhere

This was the best property we have stayed at in Iceland so far. Everyone was helpful and personable. Beautiful rooms with views of the glacier. Hot tubs were a great place after a day of driving or sightseeing. Erik our waiter was fantastic and made this feel like a home base more than a hotel. Their bar is quite good as well. Pick “kiss of death” off their cocktail menu and you won’t regret it.

The facilities were great, 3 hot tubs, the sauna is amazing, the view is beautiful and to do the cold plunge into a lake is very special! We ended up staying here another night as got stuck during a snow storm and think we were all happy about this! Such a beautiful hotel to get stuck in. The staff are wonderful, so helpful and friendly. The food is delicious - highly recommend to miso chicken & the fish. The kids dinner menu was great. The decor of this hotel is stunning! Our stay at Glacier Lagoon Hotel was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel truly welcomed. Every team member was incredibly well-mannered, attentive, and genuinely kind. Their professionalism and warmth made a huge difference in our experience.

Due to weather conditions, we needed to stay an extra night, which allowed us to experience two different room types: a Standard Room and a Family Suite. Both were incredibly comfortable, spotless, and beautifully maintained. The Family Suite, in particular, was exceptionally spacious and comfortable—perfect for a relaxing stay.

The food deserves special mention: simply the best. Every meal was delicious, well prepared, and thoughtfully presented. Dining at the hotel was a highlight of our stay.

The sauna was another wonderful surprise—spotlessly clean, relaxing, and the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring.

Overall, Glacier Lagoon Hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. Exceptional service, amazing food, immaculate rooms, and excellent wellness facilities. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.
