The facilities were great, 3 hot tubs, the sauna is amazing, the view is beautiful and to do the cold plunge into a lake is very special! We ended up staying here another night as got stuck during a snow storm and think we were all happy about this! Such a beautiful hotel to get stuck in. The staff are wonderful, so helpful and friendly. The food is delicious - highly recommend to miso chicken & the fish. The kids dinner menu was great. The decor of this hotel is stunning! Highly recommend.

Best hotel my husband and I stayed at in Iceland. The hot tubs and sauna were a relaxing and wonderful treat. The hotel was in pristine condition. Do yourself a favor and eat at the hotel restaurant. The meal was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. We enjoyed the midnight sun drinks, carrot ginger soup, carmelized goat cheese, and PLEASE have the blonde for dessert. This hotel was incredibly.

Northern lights were out twice the night we stayed and saw them right from our room’s window. On site restaurant is really only main place to eat in area so book dinner reservations

This was the hotel I was most excited about in Iceland and it did not disappoint. The location and property is beautiful. The hot tubs and sauna were such nice amenities. We had dinner at the restaurant on site which was beyond delicious. Our room was very comfortable with so many thoughtful little touches to make us feel right at home, especially enjoyed the towel warmer. I loved this place.

Our stay at Glacier Lagoon Hotel was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel truly welcomed. Every team member was incredibly well-mannered, attentive, and genuinely kind. Their professionalism and warmth made a huge difference in our experience.

Due to weather conditions, we needed to stay an extra night, which allowed us to experience two different room types: a Standard Room and a Family Suite. Both were incredibly comfortable, spotless, and beautifully maintained. The Family Suite, in particular, was exceptionally spacious and comfortable—perfect for a relaxing stay.

The food deserves special mention: simply the best. Every meal was delicious, well prepared, and thoughtfully presented. Dining at the hotel was a highlight of our stay.

The sauna was another wonderful surprise—spotlessly clean, relaxing, and the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring.

Overall, Glacier Lagoon Hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. Exceptional service, amazing food, immaculate rooms, and excellent wellness facilities. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.

This is a beautiful hotel, spa area is included and very beautiful. I like to be fully transparent on reviews for others considering a stay. My only complaint was the restaurant, I felt like the food was not very good, it was the most expensive meal I had over 10 days and nowhere near the best. I would stay again though because the spa and property are beautiful.

We loved staying here, for 2 nights! The restaurant is absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was very tasty! (beef, cod, pork). The property was well maintained, very clean and absolutely gorgeous! 3 hot tubs, with a great view (even in the fog) made relaxing a piece of cake. I do wish they had mini fridges in room but they will store cold items for you at the front desk. The rooms were well laid out, for drying out clothes, the shower was great with good water pressure and clean! Bed was comfortable as well. Only complaint would be for the breakfast buffet- cook the eggs longer or even have an omelet station for the price. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again!

There’s no bell service for bags. No bell carts in sight, which isn’t awesome if you have a fair amount of luggage for an extended trip. But the staff is friendly and helpful.

Perfect Spot to Enjoy Glacier Lagoon/Diamond Beach

We had an excellent stay at the Hotel Jokulsarlon. Sadly, the country was in a major weather alert situation so the views you would typically see were not visible. Despite this, we were able to still do a Glacier Lagoon boat tour and enjoy the hotels outdoor hot tubs. We also enjoyed a wonderful meal at the restaurant. On check-out day, the sun came out and we did get to see what the normal setting is and it truly is spectacular. The rooms are super nice and they provide slippers and robes for the trip to the hot tubs. We enjoyed our visit to the area very much and are glad we stayed two nights. This enabled us to have a second chance at the Diamond Beach. It is beautiful in any weather but extra so in the sun. We stayed in a Glacier View Room. They also offer Mountain View Rooms which is also nice given there are 4 waterfalls spilling down the mountains. I really enjoyed the sitting areas near floor to ceiling windows where comfy sofas and chairs are provided to enjoy tea or coffee or a cocktail. Speaking of which....the Midnight Sun martini (Orange gin, white wine and aperol) has to be one of the best cocktails I have ever had!

We only stayed one night and feel like the hotel is pretty nice but not worth the premium price point. The good:
- Hot tub + sauna with amazing views
- Clean rooms
- Nice views
- Gym & wellness room

The bad:
- The room seriously smelled terrible. I'm not sure what it was but it was a strong B.O. smell. We asked the reception if they had air freshener for us and were told \"you can speak to my manager in the morning\". Pretty crappy customer service if you ask me...we arrived at 8 PM and were leaving at 10 AM so the morning would be the full duration of our stay.
- The rooms are hot. The heat wasn't on and there was only a small window that we kept open 100% of our short stay. They give you a tiny little fan that we also kept on 100% of the time. When we looked at the rooms from the hot tub I'd say 90% of them had their windows open.
- Nitpick: I don't care about having the tv welcome me with my name but I couldn't help but notice ours said \"Welcome Chris K**ly\"...I went to the front desk to tell them not to put my name on the TV since I don't my name stuck on a screen for future guests. The front desk didn't say \"yes I'll remove it\" but instead said that the \"housekeeping sometimes gets lazy and doesn't update it\". Very weird response imo for such a high price point...just...get rid of the name?

Depends on your hotel vibe but my wife and I thought it was pretty nice but incredibly overpriced. If you want American hotel vibes and not cottage vibes this may be your place.
