It was good hotel, Staff is very friendly and helpful. It is by the beach, unfortunate when we went, it was high tide so my son did not get chance to play on the beach or the sea but the hotel beach front got sand area with sun-bed. The hotel got kids club, they got few things for kids to do it was useful to have when you have kids.
The hotel need a bit maintenance as the last 2 night of 11 night stayed , the room we stayed in for 9 night already the AirCon stopped working and we had to move twice but the hotel staff did speak to me that they got maintenance plan happening soon.

All in all it was a good hotel, we had a good time there and definitely we will stay here again.

It’s ok, but only ok. Far too expensive for what you get and not a five star hotel.
Cleaning was done after 5 pm almost every day same time we wanted to use our shower. Forgot some kind of towels every day. We had a pool villa and before cleaning it was way too many leaves all over. Not nice. Restaurant forgot our order a few times. But the most annoying thing was that there was absolutely no chans to get a sunbed by the pool our whole stay.

Great property nice people, beach was not useable during our stay but it seems there isn’t much beach anyway. Pools and ponds and landscaping give the property a nice upscale ambience. If you like elevated resorts with not to many rooms and individual big rooms or bungalows this is the place to be. The Breakfast is unmatched, one of the best assorted one you will find. We will definitely repeat . Thank you

The property is in a lovely setting where I would say the rooms are the highlight. We had a pool villa and it was very well appointed with an indoor and outdoor shower. It was very nice. The property is large but not too large so it can still feel intimate. The front office manager, Pimchanok made our stay extra special and took care of us. The staff are all very nice and very attentive especially to servicing room requests. They are prompt and efficient. However at the dining venues there are language barriers that lead to misunderstandings. They always come through in the end as they are very focused on pleasing their guests. Thank you for a nice stay.

Oh wow what a place… the photos do not do it justice. It’s tranquil heaven. Not over crowded, our lagoon terrace suite was just superb, so spacious and clean, the most comfortable bed, no noise from anywhere and an outside shower (inside one too) as well! Hua Hin is a great choice if you like to relax in the day and prefer a bit of city experience in the evenings… I can wholeheartedly recommend-we’ll be back next year.

Lovely hotel with a lot of green. Staff are very nice, polite and helpful. They are also quick on feedback. When we first check-in to the hotel, terrace in the room was a bit dirty due to some leaves from tree. After we told them, they immediately sent someone to clean. The room is clean and spacious. Breakfast is okay with variety of options. The restaurant „Baan Dum“ offer great Thai food with live music in the evening. The only downside would probably be the fitness that some equipments don‘t seem to get taken care of and the air-con in the fitness room smell. But other than that it‘s a great place to spend time for your vacation and private time with your love one. Property is inaccessible to the sea.

Perfect location for a relaxing vacation

Fantastic stay. I had in my mind the picture of a perfect location and relaxation, and we had that at Movenpick Hua Hin. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially Ducky who checked in on us everyday to make sure we had everything we needed.

We stayed at the resort for 6 nights during the off-season (September). We were lucky with the weather and not crowded at all.
The hotel/resort is quite unique as no normal hotel rooms. Only suites and villas.
The Resort is a bit old but very well maintained both the grounds as well as the rooms and all of the staff are well trained and friendly.
The resort is a little distance from Hua Hin downtown and no restaurants nearby. The Resort only has 2 restaurants (1 Thai and 1 Western) and both are very expensive.
Short taxi/Grab/TukTuk ride to Downtown Hua Hin (about 200 Bath).
All in all a very nice place and i am sure we will be back

Overall felt like not right for the price you are paying - water walk ways broken pool surroundings dirty one pool was even not cleaned for a while ( water greenish or do they call it emerald pool for a reason ) once you left the room it was just not feeling any special for the money you spent there. And I stayed in many many similar priced places

Lovely courteous and helpful staff and beautiful hotel grounds with a traditional style to the property.

The food was so good in quality and portion size, so very good value and recommended. Nice touch too the hotel does a complimentary chocolate hour late afternoon (but to perfect the kind gesture it there should be tea and coffee included too, IMO).

Really nice spa experience too. So ver my relaxing and worth the cost.

We had a private pool villa which we didn’t use that much as the sun never really stayed on the pool area for long enough so worth considering when choosing pool villa or other room options. However the villas are very private, comfortable and relaxing.

The grounds are just beautiful and manicured sensitive to the tropical surroundings and feel. Job well done by the ground keeping staff.

Drinks a bit overpriced and a 24h or late lobby bar is needed since the “beach” bar closes at 10pm so thereafter room service is only option which isn’t as social if part of a group.

But overall this was a genuinely pleasant stay and would go back when in Hua Hin.

Our stay at the Mövenpick Asara resort in Hua him could not have been more perfect. Our private Villa with pool was immaculate and perfect for our 1 year old son. Although we didn’t get to interact with the housekeeping staff, they always went the extra mile to make our stay wonderful, leaving gifts for us and our son and adapting to our needs. The restaurant staff were the highlight of our stay, always friendly, helpful and professional and provided us with amazing children’s meals. Whilst all the staff were amazing, we would especially like to thank Cindy, Nan, Sao, Bella, Thip, Cake, and Boom who couldn’t have done more to make our son’s first holiday so amazing. They all truly went above and beyond their duties and we already miss them.

It seems like the hotel didn’t get the room information from Hotels.com. I have to show the staff about my reservation details that included breakfast and dinner. Moreover, I got only the half board dinner which means I can choose only two menus from their list even I called them for before booking. Staff told me I can choose one for appetizer, one for a la carte, and one for dessert:( However, staff at Kampu restaurant were very nice and helpful, especially Khun Kik.

This was a lovely hotel. The room was nice and I loved the outdoor shower. The hotel was very busy! I liked everything about our stay except for the check in which was absolutely awful. We had to wait 45 minutes to get a room. It was phenomenally busy and many Thai customers were allocated rooms before us. Sadly, this would deter me from going back to the hotel again.

Great place & beautiful location right on the beach.

Covid restrictions closed the pool & fitness room, which are the two things (besides the room) that we use the most when on holidays.

Special thanks to Khun Man who gave us a free upgrade from Suite to Private Pool Suite.

Location is convenient however this part of Hua Hin does not have any beach at high tide
Paid for upgrade to pool villa as rooms are close to sea side. Well appointed rooms with good amenities.
Dinner at hotel restaurant was very poor standard and would recommend other local options as alternative

It was a great stay. Would definitely recommend the hotel for the price point-- it was good value for money.

While the resort is on the water, it does not have a beach so if you are looking to swim in the ocean, this would not be for you. On the flip side, if you are looking for a quiet stay by the water, it is ideal and the heavenly sounds of the waves and ocean will put you right to sleep.

A few small points:
--We stayed while the leaves were falling a bit-- so the pools attached to the cottages and the big pool could have done with a little bit of tidying up.
--There were very few salads/veggie dishes for room service-- so if that is something that is important to you, it might be worth keeping in mind.
--When checking out, I was asked twice on different occasions if I used the minibar-- then after a good wait was told that they are going to check to see if there was any usage, which felt a bit uncomfortable and made me think then why ask in the first place? It felt like they either didn't trust us or weren't listening. Either way, it was a somewhat unfortunate way to end our stay since we were otherwise quite happy with our stay.

Loved the presidential villa, so much space and elegantly designed rooms. The villa pool was excellent and the private beach space phenomenal. We especially loved the beach swing over looking the ocean.
The speciality restaurant was nice, and the staff friendly ( although somethings were lost in translation).

Small but pleasant property with incomparable ocean view. Loved the infinity pool by the ocean. Staff would always stop to wai and sawasdee whenever they encountered you.

However, my only real gripe is that the water in the hotel’s several ponds seemed quite dirty. Not sure if this is normal or because of lack of maintenance. We stayed in a pool villa and the pool often had dead bugs floating in it.

Also, not enough trash cans in the hotel room!

This was a stunning hotel. We had a private pool villa which was exceptional. Utter luxury and just what we wanted. The garden is quite shaded so had to keep moving the sunlounger to stay in the sun and probably managed sun 11:30-16:00 (April). Tended to move to the main pool later in the day for more sun.
The main pool is also beautiful with plenty of sunlounger availability looking out over the sea.

The restaurants served very tasty food with a wide choice of both Thai food and western options. Prices were very reasonable.

Whilst I don't want to detract from how lovely the hotel is but it was just missing something. I think this was mainly service. It lacked the attention to detail that we've had elsewhere.
For example eating at the Baan Dum, seafront restaurant. The setting is beautiful (although very windy!), but we ordered two cocktails and two bottles of water but got one of each. We then waited ages for someone to take our food order. When the food came it was very nice but no one came back at any point to check on us or ask if we wanted any more drinks. We there then at the point of walking out when we managed to summon someone to get the bill.
Likewise in the room. On a couple of occasions we had to wait over 30mins for ice to come after ordering.

The breakfast buffet was also excellent in terms of quality and choice but let down a little by staffing with not always someone to greet you to a table.

Overall staff were lovely but just didnt seem enough of them.

Mosquitoes is a big issue - my husband and I got stung multiple times. Hotel need to look into this even if the theme of the resort is \"tropical rainforest\". Staff are helpful and friendly. Food at Kampu restaurant is good - pleasantly surprised that their duck confit is really tasty! Good breakfast spread but they could improve on the service by taking the initiative to ask guests if they would like to have tea or coffee rather than waiting for the guests to ask for it. Ocean bar is supposedly open but not manned by any staff and no drinks or food are served in the pool area which could be a disappointment for some guests. Location a bit far out from main city (10mins by car), no F&B outlets on the immediate vicinity.

NO BEACH AT THIS HOTEL!

The hotel is good, but do not be fooled by descriptions such as \"Beach Umbrellas\", \"Beachfront\", and \"Airport Shuttle\" etc. THERE IS NO BEACH. IT IS IN FRONT OF THE SEA, BUT NO ACCESS TO A BEACH. The Shuttle is to the local, tiny Hua Hin airport and no further. The description on Hotels.com is flawed. When you tell the hotel, it blames Hotels.com, and when you tell Hotels.com they blame the hotel for the description. Had there been an accurate description, we would not have booked this hotel.

The property is OK but I would not stay there again with all the selection in the Hua Hin- Cha-Am area. The property may be considered 5 star but having spent a week in the Dhara Dhevi in Chiang Mai, also a 5 star resort they are not remotely in the same league. The room was nice but hospitality and the staff (not all but enough to take notice) was lacking in courtesy and knowledge. No one was rude but not very pleasant either.The food was just OK . Breakfast not bad but the 2 restaurants lacking in quality and not great service, the 2 very nice pools did not have staff, and no concierge to intelligently answer questions about things to do. The check in crew handled that cordially but really not to satisfaction. The hotel is OK grounds and room nice but overall not to my liking.

A Five Star building site....

Room was fine with everything you might need. Although the WiFi was dreadful, unusable most of the time. The room overall was grubby, and in need of a deep clean, and the TV was unwatchable.
The resort is being up graded, and so great swathes are off limits. This is pointed out on the web site, but I missed it. If I had seen it I would not have booked to stay, and until the work is done I suggest you don't either.

Stayed in the Deluxe 1 bedroom pool villa for 3 nights. The villa was very nicely furnished and well-maintained with a lovely outdoor setting next to the pool. The resort is outside the center of Hua Hin, but a shuttle van is provided through two scheduled timings during the evening from the resort and back from the night market, which require prior reservations.

THE HOTEL COULD BE BEAUTIFUL BUT IT IS DATED AND NEEDS A RENOVATION. THE STAFF WAS TERRIBLE. FROM NO BAR TENDER AT THE HAPPY HOUR HOTEL BAR, TO OUR TOILET NEEDING TO BE FIXED THREE TIMES AND BROKEN WIFI IN OUR ROOM --- THE STAFF WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO A 5 STAR LEVEL. THE MOSQUITOS ARE ALSO TERRIBLE ON THE HOTEL GROUNDS.

Room was very spacious and well furnished and decorated, even had a balcony overlooking the pool.

Happy hour drinks at the beach pool area lovely!

Also next door is a great restaurant called baan dum (there's a gate to it near the presidential suite). Amazing food, location and service!

Great, overall

Overall great stay.
Room is big, private pool is rather small (as expected). Nice swimming pool but the hotel's \"private beach\" is not exactly a beach — you don't have access to the waters. But view from the beach is spectacular.
One consistent problem: Mosquitos. Even inside of the room with mosquitoes incense. Could be annoying at times.

Beautiful Resort by the Beach

Asara Villas are nestled amongst beautiful gardens with the main pool & restaurant overlooking the beach. For us this is the perfect location for a relaxing holiday to recharge the batteries.

Nice boutique hotel in Hua Hin

This tiny property is filled with all friendly and enthusiastic staff. They are keen to offer solutions to your request. Even we only stayed in one day, they were kind enough to let me have late check to accommodate my time in Water Jungle. I also tried their supreme satay in afternoon tea.

Beautiful but expensive for food, massage etc

Beautiful property, great pool, great breakfeast and coffee. Friendly staff - especially the pool guys are very on to it. Also loved the Thaiboxing class.

On the downside, this resort takes full advantage of the fact that they are out of town and guests don't have many options in terms of restaurants, massage etc. We have travelled in Thailand a lot, and were quite chocked at the prices. For example, double/three times the price for standard food dishes (e.g. chicken cashew nuts cost 420 compared to 150 at most places) plus an extra 17% in service charge and taxes. My son is only 5 years old and not a big eater, and they charged 250 a day for his breakfast regardless. Most days he only had one piece of toast from the buffet, so that's quite an expensive piece of toast...

Going price for Thai-massage is 250-300/h . Asara charges 500 for 30 minutes on the beach, or 1600 for an hour at the spa. Also, kid's activities have been free at resorts we stayed at before, but Asara charge for everything e.g. painting, arts and crafts.

There is supposed to be a free shuttle in to town but in reality it's only a 10 person van going once a day, which is way too small to service a hotel of this size. Two times out of three when we tried to book it was already full, and we had to pay 400 each way for a taxi booked through the hotel.

A tip is to look up what time there's low tide, as this is when you can walk along the beach and find other restaurants and massage.

Peaceful away from the main bustle of Hua Hin

We stayed in a suite with plunge pool. The accommodation was of high standard. We appreciated the privacy of our garden with pool , sun loungers, table and chairs. Most of the time we spent at one of the two infinity pools and by the beach.
Breakfast was good. The restaurant was a little disappointing in the evening; partly with little atmosphere as most people went into town. The 'curry' we chose was devoid of spices, much better and half the price in town.
There are two shuttles to town in the evening are helpful although taxis cheap anyway.

Noise from adjoining room

Fine when noone in adjoining room but when occupied difficult to sleep as can hear coughing, snoring and other noises through the walls

I love this pool villa!

This place was amazing! We had a private pool villa at a great rate (thanks hotels.com!) top-notch resort. Everything was perfect! Great resort for kids. Friendly staff, kids activities, coloring pages at dinner and a great kids menu - not to mention amazing pools everywhere!

Relaxing stay.

Picked this hotel at last minute owing to short notice change of plans. Went by previous reviews. The staff here are the greatest asset. Absolutely brilliant.

The grounds are well cared for however maintenance needs to be better maintained. Bathe rooms and outer walls of the buildings need repainting but I witnessed some work being carried out but more needs to be done.
