There is a maintenance work going on inside hotel and they start from early morning, and you cannot sleep and relax all day you cannot properly sit inside room. for kids club they closed, sauna room also out of service and jacuzzi also out of service in between. so overall its not well managed we left the hotel day before our checkout due to all this and even after our checkout receive call 2 time are you ready to check out

Returning to the Danat Al Ain Resort, formerly known as the Intercontinental Hotel Al Ain, felt like a nostalgic journey for me. Having grown up spending considerable time in this hotel, it was heartwarming to see the familiar building, now beautifully upgraded while still retaining its charm.

The staff at the resort were exceptionally friendly, making my stay feel more like a homecoming. Their welcoming and attentive service truly enhanced my experience, reminding me of the many reasons I cherish this place.

A standout during my stay was the Arabesque restaurant. The culinary offerings were superb, combining traditional flavors with a modern twist – a perfect representation of the resort’s blend of heritage and contemporary elegance.

I highly recommend Danat Al Ain Resort for anyone visiting Al Ain. Whether you're returning like me or discovering its delights for the first time, the resort offers a unique and memorable experience, steeped in warmth and luxury.

The only person good in the facility is Mr. Mahmood... rest all including all Housekeeping and receptionist were below average... they gave us a room where the table was dirty the sofa's were dirty... and when they shifted us the Ac in the hall was not working.. dissatisfied with the 5*hotel

Do yourself a favor, stay somewhere else.

The hotel is old and the rooms are outdated. The furniture is worn. The walls are very thin. We have stayed here twice and had three different rooms, each was very loud. We re-booked the hotel because it had a great rate, but we regretted it. The staff was professional, but they don't have much to work with.

I think this hotel is better for families. I was traveling alone and there was constant noise. Children running and yelling in the lobby, in the elevators and in the hallways. The parents weren’t much better. Talking loudly in the hallway early mornings and late evenings. Over all my room just looked old. It was clean, but it definitely needs an update, especially considering the other hotels around Al Ain. I wish I had stayed somewhere else. I Don’t recommend this hotel if you’re alone or want some peace. Probably great for families though.

A relaxing family stay -good with kids

A short break for our family of 5 with our elderly mother. The restaurant staff were very helpful and accommodated our needs. Special thanks to Okye in the restaurant and Roberto (who cleaned our room) who went over and above to serve us. A big thanks to Augustine (valet staff) for his sound trip advice!
Despite breakfast being a little hectic (school holidays and post- Christmas), we had a great time.

My mixed opinion

The hotel was great overall although some things were old the hotel’s furniture was good and the hotel was beautiful the staff were extremely friendly, helpful, welcoming and professional as well some of the staff we saw really helped were Arrel, Helen, Fatima, and Okey. This hotel really lacked good hygiene in places such as the public bathrooms and services but the rooms were extremely clean. This hotel is great for families with a reasonable price overall 8 out of 10

The room was dated, the bathroom had mould in. There was no other milk than full fat and semi skimmed which is a problem if you can’t drink cows milk. The staff were unhelpful. The tv in my room didn’t work

As Expedia vip expected good treatment during check in but there was no benefits for being a vip member and no benefit to book a vip hotel agian if they didnt honor the membership..
Last time for thos property with all the lies during check in telling this is the last room with king bed and no upgrade because only twin beds available

The location is amazing ! Its a different world. Can hear birds chirping which is not common in UAE. I loved the swimmings pools too. It was like a mini aqua park with water fall and water gun splashing. Overall great relaxing time v spent. Only wish the bathrooms smelt nice and i found a cockroach!! The bed was cozy and nice. Since the trip went well, i would ignore the minus points. Would definitely recommend this place.

Stayed over Eid so it was sold out and they could not cope with how many people were staying there. No valet on arrival and just took our own bags into hotel. On checking in at 16:15 was told room was not ready but eventually we were upgraded to a one bed villa which was lovely but no cutlery or glasses in the villa. Pools were lovely and staff in hotel, Mcgettigans, Indian restaurant were lovely. Only had breakfast one day as it was total chaos at breakfast so got our own coffee and crossant from the onsite coffee shop. I think if not a busy holiday period would have been better organised.

the hotel is very clean with amazing pool area but unlike other five stars hotels as those in Dubai there is no available drinking water by the pool which is outdoors in a temperature about 45 C and when you ask the stuff they tell you to go inside to drink from the water dispenser , there are no tooth brushes or paste inside the rooms

Kind of dated hotel BUT best outdoor SWIMMING pool I have seen in the UAE as it is cooled! Looks like a 25 meter pool with diving blocks and lane lines but most importantly in August and the water temp was an appropriate 80 degrees. Sure feels good when it is 100 degrees plus out and it was very clean.
Also, there is the happening McGettigans bar with a decent choice of beers on tap.
Down side: room service Salade Nicoise was horrid (but hte pizza was good).

The Danat Al Ain is a nice hotel that has everything one might need for a few days stay. The grounds and the pools are nice, but a bit dated. We were there on a holiday weekend. It was crowded. There were not enough chairs around the pool, so we sat in the water at the pool bar most of the day. The service is very nice and friendly. My Expedia reservation said \"Pool View\". The room was not a pool view room and when I questioned it, they seemed to know nothing about that; even when I showed them the reservation on my app. The check-in and check-out process takes much longer at this hotel than I've ever seen. The front desk people are all very polite, but there is a lot of walking back and forth from the office to the desk. I'm not sure why. I reserved the second night though the hotel, itself. For some reason, I had to come right away to re-reserve it. When I got to the desk there were three lines. I don't understand why it had to be that minute? They already knew I was staying.The hotel is somewhat out of the way and righ not the Oman border, but you won't notive once inside the resort. Overall, the nice people, the three bars and the variety of restaurant choices are nice. As an added bonus, there is a liquor store on the property, if you're staying for a while.

I booked this hotel based on the Expedia recommendation of a VIP+ hotel . What I got was a 2 Star experience .

I has reserved the room with the option of Pay At Hotel . However , on the morning I was supposed to check in , the entire amount was charged to my Credit Card without checking if I intended to check in !
While booking I was entitled to a 10% Discount by Expedia. The 10% discount was not applied. On check -in I was informed that I have a AED 100 voucher that I must spend on the 1st Day of my stay. However , on checkout I discovered I did not get the credit as I had not used hotel services on the 1st day although we had dinner at the Oasis restaurant . Oasis restaurant though on the hotel grounds is not considered part of the hotel ! Why wasn't i informed at check in? Oasis restaurant experience was also disaster.

We had requested for a baby cot for the room on check -in but received it only at 11pm at night after shouting at Reception , Housekeeping & guest services about the delay . The room assigned to us #515 had a bright spotlight aimed straight into the room rendering keeping the curtains open or sitting in the balcony useless .

The hotel does not have all the facilities as advertised , it is a loosely knit congregation of restaurants and services .So you do not get a seamless experience in the hotel . Everything has to be paid separately .

I blame Expedia for my bad experience due to false advertising.

We spent a few amazing days here. The room and swimming pool were great. Congratulations to Chef Tarek and hisTeam on delivering every day great food to taste!! I am a bit disappointed with the checkout process. The team didn't want to hear that the bill was not correct. We were under paying our stay. I made a point to return to the reception and show them that we should be paying back some of the not paid bill - although the bill was somehow explicit. I have also asked at the check in that breakfast was included, and that I would pay for it upfront, but the request was not attended. Everyday there was some kind of confusion as our room was not on the breakfast list. But hey... We enjoyed our stay.

We planned our 2 days visit to Al Ain from Dubai and booked Danat Al Ain Resort using Expedia. Hotel is at very convenient location from bus stop and you can get taxi from there almost instantly. Most of visiting places are nearby including Al Ain zoo. There is also Al Ain supermarket within 10 AED reach by taxi incase you would like to purchase some stuff or did not like food. Tanjore has excellent menu on Indian foods.

Overall we are very satisfied with hotel, staff and facilities.

Overall, the facility was nice. The reception and pool staff were rude and did not communicate well with us. Paying $20/day for Wifi was ridiculous; which started us all off on a bad foot. Breakfast was not included, also a bummer.

The hotel is a classial resort, you have big rooms, and pool.
Only complaint is, I booked first one night and then extended one more night, but had to re-check in again even though hotel was already paid and confirmed. Small thing that management could have addressed easily to give better customer feeling. There was free fruit on the first day, but not on the second day. Room is a bit dark.

The hotel has a lot of facilities and great pools, rec areas. The staff were for the most part very nice, and their restaurant staff were absolutely wonderful.

However, my hotels.com booking included free wifi which was NOT honored by the hotel. The hotel made me pay for internet and told me I had to call hotels.com (they gave me a number to call, which was for a dental practice in Florida) to get permission to remove the internet charges from my bill. (Hotels.com has yet to respond to my complaint!) Thankfully I hadn't paid extra for things like breakfast or dinner - I'd be very wary of booking any additionals via third party websites, as the hotel doesn't honor these.

In addition, my room had only one working electrical outlet, which made charging my electronics difficult.

Before booking we were trying to decide between the Rotana and the Danat in Al Ain, both of which are \"5 Star\" eventually we settled on the Danat given that it had plenty more facilities to keep us entertained during out stay.

The Danat is definitely not what I would clasify as a 5 star hotel, our standard rooms were dated, particularly the bathrooms. Overall I would give the hotel 3 stars. Later we vistied the Rotana hotel and this looks much more like a typical 5 star hotel.

Where the Danat redeems itself is the pool area, gym, squash courts, tennis courts etc, all of which is 4*.

The hotel was clean, the staff were very friendly and supportive.

In summary we were happy with our stay, as the price was fair for the quality of the hotel but to avoid disappointment on arrival understand that this is NOT a 5 star hotel.

Good hotel in nice location

The staff was fantastic, very helpfull and nice. Made the stay well worth it. The conditions of the room we stayed in was ok, it is obvious that the hotel is not new but it did not bother us. The pool is very nice, the food was good and the kids play area was good as well.

In the long run we will not remember that the carpet in the room was not brand spanking new but that the staff was fantastic.

Bathroom it is since 1980 didnot changed. Still has old style and water mitxture. Hey Manangment change the Bathroom compeletly please we are in 2014.
ALso, there was DJ event that last till 3pm. Please if anyone would like to check in the hotel, ask if they rent the place for any DJ or music band, that going to bang on your head till late night. I think the hotel management was looking for more money over comfort of the guest to rent out the space to loud DJ.

Worst Hotel Ever !!!

There was a family in the other room with children, woke up @ 6 am. made a noise, as if they were playing next to my bed !!! It was very annoying. the rooms are not sound proofed at all !!! the hotel is very old and most shocking issue, was that the toilet seat had no water dispenser (SHATTAF) !!!

On top of all of this ... When I contacted the hotel personnel they didn't even bother to do anything. knowing that I can hear the phone in the other room was not ringing !!!

Great getaway for an affordable price

Dana Al ain resort was a good bargain vacation stay.we were a family of four but we were all adjusted in a single room on 2 queen sized beds without paying extra thanks to the reception clerk.The location is not far from the centre of the city. The rooms are clean and we'll maintained.unfortunately the rooms are not well insulated against the sound from the corridor. Room service menu was terrible and we got a very bland chicken curry the first night of our stay.there is a large choice of cuisines if one prefers to dine in.The pools were a bit crowded.play area was inadequate.we could not find authentic Indian food for the entire 4 days of our vacation in Al Ain!! The people at the concierge service were very helpful regarding the location of the various tourist spots around the resort. All in all a memorable vacation at Dana Al ain.

Isolated hotel, pleasant location, very nice staff

Room clean, service was great, greeted by everyone, well informed, swimming pool clean. Not luxurious, but clean and affordable for an over all good stay.

Very nice resort with amazing pool

We checked in early which was no problem. Service in the restaurant was a bit slow, even if it was empty, but room service on the other hand was very fast and helpful. Check out took very long, due to not enough staff available. We requested a call back regarding a late check out, but nobody ever called. Pool was very nice, huge facility with different pool as well as a very nice pool bar (closed due to Ramadan). Location is very nice, 10 min drive from the city center. All in all a very nice hotel to which I would return any time!
