Demotivated and grumpy staff who procrastinate and act negligently, seemingly to pressure guests into tipping. They lied about fixing my AC after I called them five times. I ended up spending my vacation on a sweaty bed, getting bitten by bugs on every exposed part of my body.

This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had from a hotel that claims to be five stars. I’m a well-traveled guest, and this stay completely failed to meet even basic hospitality standards.

Very BAD Front disk employee called \"Hagar\"

I have visited the hotel from the 8th of June till the 11th of June 2025 ... on a family trip.
One of my family members has allergy from sun lite my wife went to the front disk \" Called Hagar in her morning shift on the 10th of June \" asking to give us a pharmacy number that can deliver the medicine to us.
She gave us a number, but it was not working so we asked her again for her support she answered us in a very rude way \" i don't have any other number\".
She didn't even bother herself searching for another pharmacy number.

My wife googled a pharmacy nearby and made the order by herself.

On the next day the 11th of June our departure day, she was also in her shift i have requested to send me the bellman on 10 am because i was in a hurry to checkout her answer was \"you need to remined me before you need the bellman by 5 min, cause i don't guarantee that i will remember your request\".

I have submitted a complain to her supervisor to take action cause such a team member will spoil the efforts done by her collogues to satisfy their guests.

The hotel is satisfactory in terms of its location and amenities. However, I believe it could benefit from some renovations. For instance, the television in the room was outdated, and the remote control was damaged. Additionally, I was unable to connect my Apple TV device to the television in the room. When I contacted the room service, they informed me that the television was an older model and that they were unable to connect the Apple TV device. While the television channel selection is not particularly impressive, it is sufficient for a short stay of two nights.

Beautiful hotel, gorgeous beach,azur blue water with beautiful sandy beach and mountains in the back ground are breathtaking. landscape with multiple fountains..Food was delicious with different vareities every day. staff was very courteous and helpful. Room was very comfortable bed is very comfortable. nice views from the balcony, weather was amazing.The only only issues were few flies, which was addressed with management and they said is a temporary situation caused by the surrounding desert and they are dealingwith it. the other issue was overcharging for items we thought were complementary, which should have been labled with a price. there was no such list of charges in the room

Restaurant staff are so friendly and accommodating. Excellent variety of food each day. Big thanks to Chef Hany, Chef Islam at the Sushi Station and Chef Mohammed at the Pasta Station, yum!
Rooms were always well kept thanks to Mohamed Saleh.
Rania at the Spa was great (Egyptian massage and Moroccan Hammam).
Will definitely visit again.

This hotel is a absolute dream come true! After traveling in nothing but dirt, mountains and construction you end up at a gorgeous 5 star resort. The rooms are all nice and great views. The Red Sea is perfect for swimming and water sports. There are cabana style areas with umbrellas and chairs. Food and bar service to the beach. The pool is the best part with a swim up bar with food service and cocktails, infinity pool and the back drop is a spectacular view of the mountains! I would return to Egypt if only for this location. Oh yes, the food was the best dinner I had on my whole trip!

This is a two-star hotel on five-star grounds. The pool, gardens and stunning beach setting are as advertised. The remaining parts of the hotel are super dated and in dire need of upgrades. Hotel rooms were dirty, with long hairs seen throughout and the bathrooms were stunningly in disrepair.

Worst limo service..they ruined our New Year's hol

They wasted my family's time and destroyed our expensive holiday at the neighbouring Grand Beach Hotel which is only 30 kilometres away due to delays of more than three and a half hours in supplying a limousine we ordered early to take us to the hotel. They destroyed our happiness and it also turns out that the limousine service is not affiliated with the hotel although it is located inside the hotel as it is very overvalued, which is not worthy of the reputation of the old Movenbeck Hotel

Mövenpick here is not Swiss

Mövenpick is a Swiss chain, but this hotel was bought by the french. I missed the Swiss touch. Went w friends, was caught guard that unmarried friends of opposite gender are not allowed even to enter the rooms of the other. Put a coldness on the stay. However, the hotel was good, the place was nice. Went in early January, when it's cold - given that, it was quite nice, a good little escape from Cairo.

Overall it was a good stay! The superior room we stayed in the main building was just ok, it would do with some refurb as some tiles were broken/lifting up when walking and the bathroom for sure needed a freshen up (sink glass moving, silicone mouldy, toilet & bidet chipped). The dinner was ok, would have loved to see more vegetarian/fish options and perhaps some more international cuisines. Breakfast was good, fresh crepes/pancakes made in front of guests would have been appreciated and also extending it until 10:30/11am as some people would not wake up early on holiday!
Some sun lounges at the beach were super old and need replacing and it would be nice not to have AC on in the lobby and corridors on 24/7 when there’s no need.
It would also be nice to get some free snacks & fruit + water throughout the day.

Location is great, as is the beach. However, it is unfortunate that the sea is \"closed\", swimming prohibited, before 09:00 and after 17:00 - there may be no lifeguard, but let people swim!

Second downside, is a \"24-hour-rooms service\" that is closed at 11:00 AM, so it's impossible to order an early lunch. \"Try again later\", is the answer you get - at this level, \"try harder.\"

The hotel and its grounds are lovely, the accommodations are comfortable and clean with everything working properly, and the breakfasts and dinners in the hotel's restaurant are outstanding. This hotel caters mainly to Egyptian guests (mainly, it seems, whole families) and so there will be none of the late-night partying and drunken reveling so often encountered in the resorts further from Cairo which have mainly American and especially European guests. The hotel is located in a picturesque setting with many private villas flanking it. The nearby area of Ain Sokhna, however, is heavily industrialized and is a badly polluted eyesore.

Outstanding hotel turned awful in 5 years!!

This property was amazing 5 years ago, 3 years ago it was Ok!. I am just back and it turned very bad. Toilet smells awful and sink is blocked. Everything looks old now. TV Screen is so small for a beach front suite. This place need to be remodeled or even repaired.

This was one of the most disappointing experiences I have ever had with a hotel for the following reasons:

1. I contacted the hotel for an early check-out two days before my trip and no response was given
2. Two hours after arrival, we were given a room on the 3rd (top) floor for a one night stay with no elevator even though my partner wasn't able to walk due to a medical condition.
3. The room was not clean, curtains have stains, carpets are smelly and at least 20 years old, woodwork is damaged and in poor condition, all surfaces had cups and food remain stains
4. The bathroom was filthy, smelled bad and rust was everywhere in the shower cabinet, wasn't cleaned before we checked-in and hair from previous guests was everywhere
5. The terrace doors had broken locks and couldn't be locked which means they couldn't seal the heat or protect against intruders
6. The A/C was the noisiest one in the world and could barely cool the room down below 27 degrees
7. The pillows were stiff and hard to sleep on
8. Dinner buffet is below average, it had too many options but the quality was compromised, the BBQ was basically chicken and Liver!

The infinity pool was good and clean with a nice view. Services and personnel were very helpful and decent at all locations so probably the only plus.

Overall, this is a very overrated and overpriced hotel and I can't understand how it holds Movenpick name when there are much cheaper and much better alternatives a few kilometers away.

Comfy hotel, my request to get a ground room was fulfilled.
Food quality and service were nice. All staff during breakfast and dinner were attentive, helpful and smiling.
What we didn't like was the closure time of pool and beach which was 17:30 & 18:00 respectively taking into consideration that check-in time was at 15:00 and you have to checkout at 12:00.
Hotel has to reconsider again the checkin time as it is normally 14:00 in all hotels (local and international) I checked in before , also for the pool I see extending the working hrs while providing a life guard would really be great.

Overall experience was v good and would like to return back.

I enjoyed my stay with my family. The room was nice and big, albeit a little dated. We had a good view of the beautiful garden outside. There was free WiFi, but it was hit or miss. The food was pretty good, not exquisite by any stretch. The infinity pool was fantastic - the best thing about the place. The beach was ok. Pebbles and stones on the shore but that disappears after a few meters into the water and is replaced by sand which seemed to be sticky from oil spills or something. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The resort is in the middle of no where, so unless you have a car, you’re stuck in the hotel. There are no taxis or public transportation around. At night, there is in-house entertainment in the form of live singers for adults and fire shows and other programs for kids. Overall it was a pleasant experience. Would I come back though? Doubtful. It’s one of those places where once you’ve seen it and enjoyed it once, it’s time to move on!

My fiancé and I recently stayed at your Moevenpick hotel resort in Ain Sokhna Egypt. From 12/14/2017 to 12/18/2017 I am American so I am very naive to the Egyptian laws however my fiancé knows them well therefore we reserved 2 separate rooms with king size beds. Most of the staff was great. However I did have unpleasant stay due to several circumstances. When we first checked in I requested connected rooms they declined. I said that is fine, so I requested rooms on same floor close to each other because I feel safer in a foreign country with him nearby. They declined the staff put my fiancé 2 floors up. We then entered the rooms and found the beds were 2 full size beds instead of King Size as I reserved. I went down to the staff and let them know I reserved 2 king size beds. They said they don’t have them I asked as soon as they do please give us new rooms they said they would. They never did. As I got settled in I noticed the room was filthy. I then walked up to my fiancés rooms to check it out and his was filthy as well. While I was there the staff called him directing him to have me leave his room!!! They had been watching us on Camera!!!!!! I then proceeded to tell the staff that our rooms were dirty I got no response I told them twice and there was no response to the situation. I went to my fiancé room one other time just for 5 minutes to talk to him about something and he got another phone call saying we notice a woman entering your room. Being targeted on camera .....

It was just one night and I did not experience every aspect of the hotel. What I did like is location. cleanliness, pool bar staff, and breakfast. Areas that caught my attention as areas for improvement include reception staff who were lacking friendliness, room flooring (including bathroom), and variety of main courses in dinner. As a sea-front resort, I was expecting for example to see some fresh seafood items.

For quiet & relaxation, go Saturday thru Wednesday. Staff was quite attending in all areas. Food & beverages at the pool restaurant a 5, breakfast a 5, dinner 4 and all well presented. Extra wide balconies were great but beware if one does not like charcoal smoke, intense from 5:00-7:00. Very comfortable and generous sized beds and the showers had great pressure. Beach was very calm and the pool comfortably cool. We will return during the latter part of October. The sauna was excellent but the boating options a 3.

Fabulous resort on the Red Sea close to Cairo :-)

The staff was so accommodating at Check in when I asked to be moved to another room. The resort and the food was outstanding!! I look forward to returning again. The beach are was fantastic and I felt like I was treated like the Queen of Egypt. Thank you for every thing!

Ideal for short break

Overall the experience was enjoyable but would not recommend for a longer break. Food was average but they do have a variety. The mosquitoes seemed to like the UK Blood. Hotel staff were helpful and provided bug spray but this didn't seem to keep them away...

The animation events in the evening need to be altered as they displayed the same every night but nevertheless it was better than nothing I guess!

The massage centre was average. Sauna and steam need much improvement but massage was good and staff are friendly.

A few day escape f

Together with friend and family, we enjoyed a few day escape at Moevenpick Hotel & rResort in El Sokhna, on the Red Sea. A small well planed landscape, wth a large Parkin area, isolated kinder garden and a huge swimming pool. The hote provides: delicious easy to digest food, attentive and helpful staff, comfortable and quite rooms, sunny sand beach and fresh cool breath in the evening.

Good hotel we love it

Enjoyable , meals are excellent , pool spacious ,sea has 2 or 3 corals for surfing and within hotel marked zone is clean from stones. Air conditioning in our room was not good but not bad

Nice location and staff, very bad food

We enjoyed the location, the pool and the beach. The staff members were friendly. The animation party at night was awful, very boring. Most of animation team members are bored themselves and weren't smiling during shows and activities.

The worst thing is food. Very small variety, and no taste at all in dinner. However the waiters were friendly.

What we enjoyed most is the deluxe room location and the terrace. But we didn't like its cleanliness at the beginning.

Poor hotel but nature is nice

The hotel is not renovated since a long time. Room is not good. Dimensions of a lot of things in the room was very strange and suitable for children:
Safe space is too too small ,
Cupboard is not enough for two people.
Bathroom sink height is very low ! !
Mosquitoes are every where ! !
Food is not good

Everything was excellent

The hotel was great, the pool and beach were fantastic and the food was the best I've eaten at any resort before. Staff was very helpful and accommodating, I give the Movenpick Resort El Sokhna my highest recommendation.
