The Westin is my go-to hotel every time I am in Beijing. The service is excellent and everyone is very friendly. I was especially impressed by the cleaning people who kept our room in immaculate condition and made sure we had all we need for a very pleasant stay. I should say The Westin holds a special place in my heart as I met my future wife there and a stay for us is a trip down memory lane. Thank you to all the staff for making Westin the best hotel in Beijing!

Upon our arrival, we approached the staff at the restaurant on the second floor, which serves breakfast, as well as the front desk staff, to ask for recommendations for nearby restaurants for a late dinner. We were quite disappointed when they responded that they had no information to offer, and they did so in a rather cold manner.
Having worked as hotel employees at the Westin in Singapore in 1986, we still remember how much the hotel emphasized the importance of service during our orientation. They instilled in us the belief that \"people make a difference\" when it comes to hospitality.
It was surprising to see how the level of service at the Westin has diminished, as it no longer seems to prioritize the needs of its guests.
On a positive note, the housekeeping team was outstanding. They cleaned our room quickly and provided plenty of water and toiletries. I went for a walk after they cleaned my room and returned to find everything spotless again!

This is the first hotel which I need to stay so long - 8D7N. Hence I read the reviews carefully when I was deciding which hotel to book. My family and I were very pleased to have stayed in Westin Chao Yang. The staff we met were all very polite and helpful. The family deluxe room has two queen size beds. I could loan amenities such as a fan, a humidifier and different types of pillows and I could adjust the temperature for a comfortable sleep at night. The pool was heated to 28 degrees and it is 1.2m to 1.5 m deep with a life guard. There are also hot and cold \"spring water\", steam and sauna rooms in the female restroom with shower rooms and lockers. I did not order breakfast and asked hotel concierge for help for direction to places for breakfast and buying local products. It is easy to get transport around through DiDi. The hotel is currently doing some maintenance work but noise is bearable. I will definitely like to stay in this hotel if I visit Beijing again.

Very nice and clean 5 star hotel with a great price compared to the US. The fitness center and pool are state of the art. Also the breakfast buffet covers any taste from Asian, US to European. The only two very minor issue I had was that I was not able to get credit on my Marriot rewards account since I did not book the hotel via a phone app. Also when I wanted to sit next to the window during breakfast I was told that I can‘t and that people are not seated there. I was placed in corner. 5 min later all of the window tables were taken by other guests.

It's a good 4 star experience with a great Sunday brunch. Lobby is very crowded and noisy though. Impersonal staff do little to smoothe over the Chinese police state passport and visa checks. Also had to wait an hour after check-in time to get room. A good option if you want to feel anonymous

The two biggest issues were the heating/AC which didn't function properly and the internet which was hopelessly slow. These failings were so fundamental that it undermined all of the other good things about the hotel.

Best Bed in China but bad service
First, if you are doing business in Beijing and your meetings are on the east side, this is a great location. Good airport access. Subway just out the front door. Second, if you travel a lot in China you know that many hotel beds are no softer than the floor. The Westin's bed was among the very best--if not the best--I have ever slept on in china. The pillows were crummy though. And the service---which usually is not that important to me--was astoundingly bad. Housekeeping didn't even clean my room TWICE until I called in the late afternoon to request it. A/C required fixing and then went from very hot to very cold. No adjustment allowed.

Beautiful Experience in Beijing
We spent 2 days at the Weston in Beijing and found the hotel and staff to be exceptional. The room was oversized, similar to what one might expect in the U.S. The views were terrific from the 28th floor, over looking the city sites. The staff was amazingly professional, courteous and could not have been better for us. They arranged a tour of the Great Wall, which we will never forget!

I have stayed in many beijing hotels. This is my favorite. The gym is great - big and everything you need. Breakfast is great - the bacon is crispy and they know how to make an omelet. The steak house is the best in town.

I only stayed a single night, but it was a great choice for the two of us and our 4-year-old. He loved the pool, which was clean and tidy throughout. The room with a king-sized bed was perfect for the three of us. Restaurant options were okay. We had the Grange Grill for dinner (A+), but the breakfast buffet choices at Seasonal Taste was just okay - nothing to write home about. Suprisingly, I found that the food on offer at this Seasonal Taste was not on par with my experience at other Westin locations. Staff swooped in as soon as we walked through the front door on arrival. No complaints.
