It was pouring rain during our stay here so we were really happy to be able to just walk over to Normandin for supper and a coffee and ice cream cone at McDonald's on the way back.
Breakfast was great and including both hot and cold items.
The only thing that would have made it better would have been a room on the ground floor (should have phoned and asked for that).

The room smelled so badly of cigarette smoke that my eyes burned and I could taste it. The staff made no effort to accommodate or offer a discount. I have stayed in comfort inns before and do not expect luxury but this was unacceptable.

Was promised an electrical plug-in for my car - half the parking spots are not serviced and those that are all feature problems with delivery. Disappointing. Outside is way worse than inside - room was fine, but the \"first impressions\" issue is a problem. And fix your sign for Pete's sake - half unlit makes for problems finding the location...

Like the location as it was near the stores we wanted to shop too. Our overall experience was good except for the woman’s attitude at the breakfast area. We were informed that there was free warm breakfast from 7 to 10am. We arrived 20 mins before 10 and she seemed annoyed. She was putting things away even as we were serving ourselves and was slamming the cupboards. Needless to say, we did not leave a tip but we did cleanup after ourselves and left our area clean.

The staff was very nice and helpful even though my/our french was limited. (Some places in Quebec arenot very accomodating to non-French speakers) The room was comfortable and clean and the place was nicely kept up. The free breakfast was a definite plus. really nothing not to like from my perspective.

Nous avons passé 4 nuits dans l’hôtel. L’hôtel est bien placé et très simple, mais le problème c’était que dans la description ils n’ont pas mentionné que le déjeuner était servi dans un sac et toujours la même chose (tous les jours). Je sais qu’à cause de la covid ils ont passé pour une situation compliquée, mais la transparence est aussi importante pour garder la clientèle et la confiance. J’ai paie pour un service de déjeuner et non un sac avec un muffin, un yogourt et un fruit en conserve! J’avais l’option de reste dans le motel à côté, mais j’ai choisi l’hôtel à cause d’un bon déjeuner. Par contre, je sais que la situation de la COVID est temporaire, mais la transparence à mon avis est super importante, si jamais je besoin d’aller une autre fois à Alma, je ne resterai pas dans cette hôtel!

Perfectly OK once check-in confusion was resolved

The check-in was chaotic; they initially claimed that we did not have a reservation and that they were 100% booked. As we were pulling up our Hotels.com confirmation on a computer in the parking lot (using McDonald's wifi from next door), they finally located our reservation. Then they gave us a room that had not been cleaned. We had dinner at the sports bar next door and came back and were assigned a different room, which was 100% acceptable (and cleaned). They insisted that we pay even though we had pre-paid through Hotels.com but the charge never hit our credit card so I think they eventually figured it out. The confusion was definitely exacerbated by our limited French fluency and the clerk's limited English fluency.

The area around the hotel was pretty bland, but the sports bar next door had pretty good food for dinner.

All in all, a reasonable value for the money.

A nice hotel!

We literally booked this room at the last minute-we were across the street when we made the reservation, and were able to immediately check in by a very courteous employee when we arrived. Our street-facing room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Breakfast was hot and plentiful, with the person responsible for the service paying attention to details of food and guests. Its a very good place to stay.

On the main strip

Quiet and fairly clean, what you would expect from this type of hotel.

Not a large selection but a good breakfast and good location.

However, did not expect to sleep on a bed with a fresh blood stain on the sheets. That sort of spoils the rest of the stay. It's funny as they advertise promoting the environment by changing bath towels and linen every 3 days, one would think they would change the linen once the room has been vacated as well.

I will know better... no more Comfort inn' s, even if that means having to travel longer distances.

The hotel and staff were great, but we had a late check in and our hotel room had no heat on when we first arrived and it took over an 1hr to warm up as it was -25 celcius outside...

Other than that, great hotel experience.

A gem

This hotel could be used as an example of how a simple hotel should be, and should be run. The staff extend themselves to the needs and wants of their guests. The hotel is spotless, cozy, attractive, comfortable, well located quiet ... everything you'd want this type of hotel to be. Attractive rooms with VERY comfortable beds, and many little extras which make you feel special. A gem!!!
