It’s very clean and convenient, and non smoking room . It appeared a bit hard to find non smoking rooms in Ningbo . The bathroom is small size for the room I booked, but I won’t complain for the price of the room. Breakfast buffet is also very good. A walking distance to Tianyi square. Over all we are very happy to stay there for two nights, will certainly come back.

The hotel looks pretty old. Carpets looked dirty and furniture's are not properly arranged. I couldn't find a socket for my power adapter beside the desk.

A/C is inoperative during winter even though the rooms are very stuffy.

The hotel has two part south which is very old and north which is better than the south, all online reservation they will be checked in the south

Hotel just next Tiayni square ( Shopping centre)
Had some Indian option in Breakfast & Dinner that was biggest Plus for Veg person like me.
During My stay Room AC was not working properly same was attended with full honesty , tempratures were checked , Since it cannot be repaired then my room was upgraded on same floor.
Hotel AC was quite good , Room tempratures can be achieved as low as 21 Deg C, not like some other Chinese hotel were it is set lowest 24 Deg.
However Scope of improvement in WIFI speed which was hovering around 8Mbps only

Good business hotel, nice gym, great breakfast

Very good breakfast. Great to see local specialities among western food. Great solution with robotic delivery service. Nice swimming pool, yet need some renovation. Room typical US style (not really a practical style). Too bad that they don't vacuum the dust efficiently. City center location. Walkable.

To be fair, I landed late and arrived about midnight.

Decent hotel but the beds tend to be a little chinese style (hard).

Breakfast was ok maybe a 3.5 out of 5.

Most things were OK but the air conditioning in the room would not work. They said three times they would fix it but never could and ultimately set up a fan in the room. I asked at checkout for a modest adjustment on the room rate and the front desk refused responsibility for the A/C citing \"government policy with regards to electricity consumption.\" The breakfast buffet was not up to the standards of other Crowne Plazas we stayed at in China.

Check in staff spoke very little English and didn’t know how to use the hotel check in software as it took about 10 min to find an available non-smoking room. Very central location. Left chocolates every night at the beds. Spacious room. Got a two twin bed superior room.

Quite a nice hotel, the staff speaks great English. However, I have never had to wait so long to check out. Why not simply ask for a preauth on the credit card for incidentals and deposit (like hotels worldwide) rather than requiring the guest to wait and wait and wait to check out. Overall though quite happy with the choice to stay here. Central and easy to get around. Lots of choices for coffee and food, both Chinese and Western cuisine. I would absolutely stay here again if I am in Ningbo.

The Tired Crowne

A great deal on Last minute but a mix up about breakfast we booked this hotel with breakfast but had to pay extra, this was embarrassing. However, management handled the situation very professionally.
The room could have been cleaner, there were toe clippings found on the floor - ewww!
Bed was excellent, windows were dirty. They only provide one bottle of water per person per day.

I stayed before. Hotel is a little dated & needs refurbishment & new softer beds. Price/location/package is fair for cost but internet speed needs to be better. wifi never good as wired. Toaster broken @ breakfast but i commend chefs offering to make imm. I think Nanyuan hotel is very slightly better . Easy taxi ride to Old Bund; Western bars/Food/pubs etc.

Mostly clean hotel. The window need washing. The room didn't smell great - kinda like cigarettes. The carpet needed steaming. Bed was clean. Towels are clean. The lighting makes it look rather dreary.

Hotel is located in the center. From outside it looks a bit old, room was good, comfortable bed. Hotel offers transfer to the airport and railway station but when we asked for it 1 day before departure they told us it is too late despite the fact it was more than 12 hours till the departure so we used taxi next day.

Bad service.

Hotel was ok, however, the service was bad. The Front Desk and Concierge are sorely lacking in training. This is supposed to be an international chain of hotels but the staff had a hard time communicating in English. Our supplier left a package for safekeeping at the front desk but it was not even properly recorded, it took almost an hour just to sort this out. How difficult is it to properly tag packages/parcels? They could have simply left a telephone message informing us that the package was downstairs. Lobby Attendants as well were the arrogant type of lazy personnel that would cluster amongst themselves rather than help with luggage. There is no pro-activeness. All in all, there is a serious issue with service, or the lack thereof.

I tried to cancel 2 days before I arrived and couldn't get anyone to answer my call or emails to cancel. then I get an email stating that I would be charged for the full amount even though I sent in an email stating that i needed to cancel. I still would like to have at least one day of my stay refunded since I tried to contact someone in plenty of time to have that cancellation made.
You have terrible customer service!!!!!

I was very happy with the Crowne Plaza City Center Ningbo. The value was great, the room was clean and the hotel is in the center of NingBo. Communication with the staff was difficult at sometimes and the breakfast buffet was catered more toward the locals. Overall I was happy and would stay there again.

I enjoyed my stay at the Crowne Plaza Ningbo. Staff was helpful, though not everyone spoke English. The room was spacious and very clean. The hotel was conveniently located for me, as I wanted to see the Tian Yi Ge. It was a short walk to see the Fenghua River or the Tianfeng Tower

A westerners oasis in ningbo.

most westerners nightmare in china normally starts at breakfast time when you go into the restaurant and ask the chef who is cooking fried eggs \"can i have a fried egg please\" and you get a vacant stare back. so you point at the eggs and hope he understand what you mean but again you get a vacant stare back so you try this several times before giving up and leave frustrated. The crown plaza Chefs can speak English, there names are Gill (very friendly and helpful) Will and Bruce (i think), But they will approach you and in a very pleasant way ask if they can get or do anything for you. This and the added bonus of 90% of the Staff in Crowne Plaza speak English with makes your stay very pleasant. they cater in western food as well as Chinese, Great bar down stairs. The Floor managers in the restaurant can be a little patronizing when it comes to rules and getting your room number off you for the bill instead of letting you finish your breakfast or dinner first in peace. I also met the Hotel Manager, who now i notice all the time in the restaurant and lobby which is a very good sign. Over all, I stay in Ningbo at least two weeks per month and for the price of the Crowne Plaza and the Level of service you get i will defiantly be staying there from now on.

Rooms are very clean. Mattress, pillow and beddings are clean and comfortable. Hotel staff are very helpful, but need improvement in use of English and ability to communicate without giving wrong impressions. Overall, very good hotel and great location in the centre of the city right opposite Tianyi Square for shopping.

Great hotel for the price. I was very happy with the room but the bed could of been softer. The best experience of my stay was the breakfast (Western style)was great, it had a great variety, it was HOT and chefs that approach you who speak perfect English to see what they could arrange for you in which I had a cheese omelet cooked perfectly. This Level of service during breakfast is hard to find in China. Where the typical Experience with Breakfast in China is walking away Hungry, Annoyed and frustrated. \"Good Job Crowne Plaza you have great staff working for you\".

The hotel is in Ningbo city center. Very comfortable. Big clean and well furnished room. Staff very helpful. Have facility to book train tickets at service center at the hotel. Buffet breakfast has good choices and quality. Reception area also is well furnished with complementary juices.

Ask for Updated Rooms

After four days on a rock hard mattress, I learned they had updated rooms with soft beds. The staff is not English friendly. Gill, the executive chef, and his brother Will are the two best things about the hotel. They will cater to your needs, and speak multiple languages.

I have seen this hotel rated on the web from 3 to 5 stars - for me it was 5-star experience. Many of the staff were conversant in English which was extremely helpful. I had all my requests from postcards to ground transportation taken care of quickly. Breakfast buffet had a tremendous selection of items. If my travels take me back to Ningbo, I'll stay at the Crowne Plaza again.
Tianyi Square is a short walk from the hotel and there is a Starbucks on the square, although it doesn't open until 8 in the morning.
The only complaint I have about my stay is that some of the hotel guests do not obey the no-smoking signs and light-up in elevators and on non-smoking floors.

Of the top tier hotels in Ningbo, this one is probably the cheapest. This one also has the best location about a block from TainYe square the center of town. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Internet speed is good. Breakfast has a lot of choices. Glass in the windows is good enough to make the rooms quiet.

This hotel a block from Tain Ye which is the Times Square of Ningbo. Good resturant choices near by. Staff is capable and helpfull. Rooms have good windows so they are quiet. Both heat and A/C are more than sufficient with controls in each room. Bathrooms are very clean. Nice place good value. Breakfast is pricy but it is worth the money. Try the hand baked soft pretzels on the breakfast buffet.

Nothing too much to say to be honest. A up to standard international branded hotel in China. Clean, Great service, average breakfast in China. Close to city centre. But if you want something newer, there should also be a lot of cheaper options with can offer a better facility, it definitely feel a little bit old. But if you want a safer option, clean and hassle free option, CP or holiday inn just never let me down.
