The staff was always very helpful. Taxi service was good.
Besides the hotel restaurants, there are not too many food options s. TGIF is by the hotel. There is a mall 1 km away, close to the convention center, with fast food and a Costa (coffee place). Metro station is close, walking is safe.

Good hotel, but subpar location.

Experience was good. But the location of the hotel in relation to the city is kind of far. I found myself taking a cab more often than I wanted. The bike is the best way to travel in Beijing.

Disappointing.

Unfortunately changed room 4 or 5 times due to the sheer noise of the building work going on in the hotel. If I had known that there would be this building work going on, I wouldn't have stayed.

One of my room changes moved me to a room which smelt like an ash tray. Absolutely terrible stay.

Shower had hair in it.

On my final evening. I got back to my room to find my room door wide open. Apparently the cleaners forgot to close the door!!!! All my belongings were open for the taking.

Nice Hotel close to Olympic park.

I was in Beijing for a conference at the China national convention centre at Olympic park. The Hotel was a 20min pleasant walk through the Olympic park each day. The Hotel was clean and neat, although most of the reception staff had limited english there was always at least one staff member close by who could.
The closest subway station is also about 20min away again in the Olympic park. (The subway is a great & cheap way to get around Beijing. All the ticket machines can be changed to English, and all signage in the subway also has english on it.
Overall had a gray stay at the Grand Skylight Hotel

This hotel is in a great location relative the Olympic Park. Communication with the staff in english was challenging beyond the very basic. I requested a non-smoking room. While there were no indicators that the room was a smoking room (ash tray) there was a distinct odor of smoke. The room was comfortable but well worn in. The lobby restaurant was great for breakfast, many choices.

Currently undergoing phased renovation. Executive room was large enough. Breakfast buffet is Asian and Western, so you'll be sure to find something that suits you. Need to get get back to the hotel and don't speak Mandarin? Draw a picture of the stadium -- it helped every cabbie, even when provided with the address in Mandarin. About 1 hr. and <100 RMB taxi to/from the airport.

Nice Hotel - Mediocre Service

I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. The space was good and I appreciated the view. The staff had a limited command of English but I don't count this against the hotel (you're in the middle of Beijing after all) but I note it for non-Mandarin speakers. My main criticisms of the hotel are:

1. No 'do-not-disturb' signs. While I was adjusting to the time change, I was woken up several days/times by the maid service. I had no way to indicate to them not to clean the room and they were very persistent in ringing the bell. The first day, the maid argued with me and did not want to go away when I asked her to come back later.

2. On my final night, I spoke the concierge to arrange a cab to take me to the airport the next day. When I checked-out the next day, they had no record of my arrangements - it turned out not to be a big deal since I was able to get a cab in a few minutes but it could have turned into a real hassle.

The check in was fast. At first I stay at 8th floor. However, there is construction work at the hotel. I was very noise. When I complain, they change my room to upper floor. Overall the hotel and room was nice. But if you want to buy some item at convini store, it a bit far.

Balanced hotel with great view on the Olympic Stad

Stayed 3 night during a tradeshow at the nearby convention center. The location required a 20 min walk morning and evening but being located right behind the famous Beijing Olympic Stadium (\"The Nest\") this felt like going for a tourist tour although I was going to work.
The hotel is clean and modern but is clearly aimed at Chinese business travelers. In my (business class) room, there was a full Chinese tea set, normally used when discussing business deals with customers!
The TGI Fridays at the first floor makes it possible to eat Western food (for those with that type of craving) but you must walk or take a cab to find Chinese food.
Finally, the only deficiency during the stay was the non-functioning air-conditioning... but I usually don't bother with it so for me it was a non-issue but could be an issue for others.

eating in the restaurants is a bit pricey, and service takes a bit too long for my liking; TFI Fridays adjacent is a good bonus for Westerners needing a taste of home
location is great, I found I could get to where i needed very quickly
Westerners tend to get given the smaller rooms; I have a Chinese wife and found on our second visit there she was given a much larger room (separate sitting area) at the same price
(room) cleaners are really helpful and friendly - the reception staff could learn a thing or two from them

Convenient to Olympic Park with pleasant staff.

This is a mid-level hotel with rooms comparable to Holiday Inn in the states. The wifi connection is free and stable. The personnel at the information desk are unfailingly pleasant and have limited but sufficient English. I stayed two weeks so the hotel upgraded me to a suite. The bathroom had a tub and stand-alone shower which was nice and large, and the water pressure was always good. The king-size bed was comfortable, although it takes some getting used to not having a top sheet with only the comforter on top. The living area was furnished with a small love seat, chair, desk, and bar area with small refrigerator.

I booked the skylight for a conference and it was clean but otherwise, just okay. Definitely skip the food (there is a underground mall near by with a lot of selection) and the internet is so slow it's practically non-existent. The fact that they sold condoms in my rooms bathroom made me wonder what kind of hotel I was in. Several of my friends booked the Intercontinental hotel that is attached to the CNCC and it's a better hotel. The plus was I had a nice view of the formula E practice.

I stayed in this hotel for 5 days during my visit to China for a conference. just 20 min drive from Beijing int airport and located in the Olympic park, it's easily accessible to anyone. It's right next to the bird's nest stadium and the view was great although that was the only one view from my room. I'd recommend getting rooms at higher floor. The staff were friendly and spoke English. only issue I had was that the mini bar was way expensive and the hotel charged me $10 for watching \"classic videos\" in the TV that was already loaded onto it. That was completely weird. The subway was 15 min walk from the hotel and taxi's were easily available 24 Hrs. All in all it was a great stay in this hotel and I recommend it to everyone, specially for conference.

Very Nice Room - Great Price

The room was very nice, the bed very comfortable and it was very quite. Only complaint was that our bar wasn't restocked everyday and the used glasses wern't replaced everyday. The staff's English wasn't great but neither was our Mandrin. We always managed to get outr point across. The staff was patient and polite. Great location next to Olympic Park and subway.

Good Location to attend conference at the Conventi

Found the hotel to be very reasonable value for money, very good view of the Birds Nest. The room and the bathroom were well maintained. Only point was that storage space was not available as there were no cupboards. Was able to find taxis at all hours, the convention centre was about 10/12 minutes walk as the most direct route through the Stadium area was closed.

Excellent choice for Convention Center

Room was very spacious and clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. Enough staff speak some English to make communication for western travelers not a significant issue. The hotel is a 15 minute walk to the convention center but it is easy to get to. Olympic Park is right behind hotel which makes for morning walks nice. Must take a taxi to get to other Beijing attractions, restaurants, etc. but taxis are readily available outside of hotel or driving by. I had breakfast buffet every morning and found the quality of food good with many choices between western and traditional Chinese. If you are attending an event at the convention center, this hotel is a good choice, especially for the price.

Pleasant walk across Olympic Park to CNCC but an hour to get downtown on the subway. Hotel had most facilities. Breakfast was slightly below the standard expected with a rather limited choice and sometimes juice ran out. Room was adequate but the bed was hard.

This hotel is close to the International Convention Center and to the Olympic Park, but otherwise I would not have stayed here. it was good value compared to some of the other hotels in the area, but really - it was nowhere near as good value as the courtyard hotel where I stayed the previous week. As with many such higher-end hotels, you pay for almost anything and everything. Almost nothing is provided without charge. So unless you have to be near the Convention Center or Olympic Park, pick someplace with more charm and character, especially closer to the city centre, the Palace Museum, and Beihai Park.

Great hotel but inconvenient unless you have a car

The hotel was very nice. Great location if you are going to the convention center or to the Olympic park area. Everything is walkable. That being said, EVERYTHING was a 15 to 20 minute walk. I was working in the convention center, so a 20 minute walk every morning and a 20 minute walk every evening. The mall in the Olympic park has many restaraunts, however it's a 15 minute walk to get there. Also the subway station is in front of the convention center, so another 20 minute walk just to get to the station. Overall, nice hotel if you like to walk. If you plan to use the subway, I suggest staying at a different hotel, closer to a subway station.

I found the hotel extremely convenient for my conference at the Beijing International Convention Centre. Other conference facilities, shopping areas and olympic stadiums within walking distance. Just be aware of taxi fares from the airport. With normal taxi it should cost around 80-100 RND. Private taxis and other services try to rip you off. One taxi tried charging 1200 from me due to bad weather, but I got another cab for 100 RND only.

Olympic park hotel on its post-Olympic years

It's not bad.

This hotel is right next to the Bird's Nest stadium (literally a stone's throw), and across the Olympic park from the China National Convention Center. If you need to be at those places and don't mind a walk across the concrete wasteland that is the Olympic park, this is a pretty good hotel.

The hotel feels (in August 2012) like it used to be a Hilton or Sheraton, but was sold to a local firm after the 2008 Olympics and has been on a long slow decline since then. Nothing bad, just lots of run down and worn edges - carpets worn through in spots, stuck hinges, shabby towels, that sort of stuff.

HIgh marks to the super-nice staff - they were always friendly, cheerful, and good-intentioned, if not always successful.

A tip: Do NOT let them stick you in a Smoking room if you're not a smoker. I should have made a fuss about this but I was tired when I checked in, took what they said was available, and regretted it.

It is technically a 4-star hotel. However, if you want to save more money, then go (literally) across the street - there are 3-4 hotels there, which are much cheaper.
Wi-Fi is tolerable for 1-on-1 videochat, breakfast is not included by default and would be costly as an addition. Good location for CNCC - 15 minute walk cutting through the stadium. This hotel was one of very few available options for last-minute reservations. Staff would happily ignore Do Not Disturb light. Kettle in the room makes a difference, since one can't drink tap water.

Great clean bed / bathroom a bit challenging

Bed very clean, new and comfortable linens, firm mattress.

Room itself clean, carpet had some cigarette burns, but room did not smell of cigarettes. AC was okay, but did little against the ever-present humidity.

Bathroom dirty behind door (hair from previous guests, etc). Grout / caulk lines in bathroom look very dirty, previously white corners look black.

Safety box key-board some digits did not work, and staff could not fix that besides replacing the batteries (with the old batteries it didn't work at all).

Wireless connectivity to the in-house wireless access point work perfectly, Internet access to the rest of the world outside of China very spotty.

Great buffet-style breakfast including Chinese and Western fare (80 yuan). Includes coffee / tea / juices.

I would stay there again. Not the best, but a good value for the money.

Great hotel close to Olympic park

The Cactic is a well-maintained place, with the comforts one might come to expect of a hotel. Perhaps one of the best reasons to stay here is its proximity to the Olympic park and the China National Convention Center, without paying potentially dearly for one of the CNCC's adjoining hotels.

My room was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. Among the nice touches were the complimentary toothbrushes / vanity items and the loanable power strip, robe, and umbrella. Though non-Chinese speakers might occasionally hit a tiny bit of issue, the reception desk solved all my needs.

The fitness room and business center are also appreciated, though the latter is quite overpriced.

Excellent deal for BJ

Unless you need to be downtown Beijing, this hotel is a great value. Located way North - next to the Olympic Stadium, it is not over priced and very comfortable. Staff is very accommodating. Room are clean and even business suites are affordable. A taxi ride to downtown will take you about 30 minutes depending on traffic and cost about $5.

I had a 5 night stay here for a conference at the Beijing International Conference Center - 7 min walk away. Great location next to the National Olympic Park with its fantastic light display at night. The front desk staff are very helpful. I was offered a choice of smoking or non-smoking room (Business Suite), though I wondered why this should be, since it was advertised as a non-smoking hotel. The non-smoking room did smell smokey initially, but not intolerably so. There was no sugar in the room and I had to ask staff several times before it arrived.

The biggest downside to this place is the Western restaurant. The steak meal that I ordered medium rare came well-done, and it seemed as tough as a piece of chuck steak rather than the better cut that it was advertised as. The Cantonese restaurant was good. The Chinese/Western buffet breakfast was good.

The North Star food mall which is about 15min walk eastward is a great place for cheap eats. Large variety of food and frequented by the local office workers - can't go wrong with that!

Taxis are easy to get and it's a cheap ride into the City center (Forbidden Palace)

If I am back for business in this area, I'd certainly come back to this hotel

Good for conference in Beijin

This is a very decent and reasonably priced hotel .
At first we were intimidated by the smell of the room which had been a smoking room prior to our arrival. The concierge promised that if we go out for a while, the housekeeping will \"do something\" and it will be ok, and indeed by the time we came back from dinner, the smell was gone.
We stayed for a week, during which the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is good, particularly if you are attending a conference at the convention center. I would stay there again.

This is a practically almost new hotel, the bed is super comfy, very hard to find comfy bed as normally all the hotel in china has hard bed.
And we can see the birds nest from the view on our room.
If you don't mind catching taxi, then the location will be good.
One Problem, no convenient store can be seen from this hotel.

Near Olympic Birds Nest- CNCC (national conferenece centre)

If you want to be near the CNCC / Olympic area of Beijing this is well placed - I'd stay further in if you want to do the historic sites...though the subway is easy from here - it involves many changes.
Never found the grocery store (which would have been handy) and not overly impressed with local restaurants compared to those in Dongcheng where I first stayed...
lovely walking through the flood lit Olympic park area from the subway / the CNCC at night - felt safe walking as a woman on my own , as many people around, well lit...
Hated the electronic self -player grand piano in the rather smokey lobby! Easy to get taxis from this hotel.
Room - fine - comfortable but characterless like most international hotels - I was so happy that i'd started the trip with a stay in the Double Happiness Hotel in the Dongcheng area - fabulous character hotel with excellent english -speaking staff.

Although the hotel was nice from the lobby to the rooms, my room was on the non-smoking room with an ashtray in it and smoke smell in the room. There was no shower curtain for the first day as they said it was being cleaned and when it was replaced the next day it smelled or urine. Not my idea of good housekeeping. Staff was very friendly but spoke broken English. Breakfat was very good and general cleanliness was ok. I am not a picky traveler but some things concerning the hotel were just a little off.

Great hotel right on the Beijing Olympic grounds next to the famous Bird's Nest Stadium. Can't beat the location. We stayed there during the Olympics and it was a fabulous location. Ask for a room that has a stadium view. Easy walk to tour the Olympic grounds.

Excellent location to view and visit the Bird Nest Stadium

My purpose for staying in this hotel is mainly for visiting the famous Bird Nest Stadium and Water Cubic. One night is enought for me to walk around the Olympic Park three times, including an early morning walk. If you prefer to visit the Beijing's city, you may select another hotel. This hotel is full of local tourists with lots of tour buses parked outside. It was very difficult to get to the hotel's entrance when I took a taxi from Airport. Even the taxi driver suggested me to get off earlier and walked with my luggages across the street by foot. Hotel's staffs are very friendly, but with limited English. This is fine to me as they are very helpful anyway. From my room I can directly view the Bird Nest Stadium, as it just locates outside the Hotel's backyard. Amazing, right? It is so great, especially for the night view. It is so wonderful and worthy. Room is clean and comfortable. Price is reasonable. Breakfast is good and cheap. Internet is included in the price.

Next to the \"bird nest\" stadium. Breakfast buffet had various choices of Chinese and Western food and tasted good.
Unfortunately the room has some smell which was not comfortable.
Staff members at the reception speak some English but the answer could vary depending on the person (e.g. appropriate time to leave the hotel for the airport.)

員工很有禮貌，辦事速度也挺高。這是我印象比較深刻的地方。房間也很舒適。酒店的自助早餐種類蠻多，可是味道可以更好。

Das Hotel war von der Ausstattung grundsätzlich sehr gut. Leider wurde unsere Buchung nicht gefunden und es hat mehr als 1h in der Lobby gebraucht bis wir ein Zimmer bekommen haben. Das Personal war zwar sehr bemüht, dürfte aber die Buchung von Expedia nicht in der gewünschten Form übermittelt bekommen haben.
Wir haben zwar dann ein kostenloses Zimmer-Upgrade bekommen, wo jedoch die Klima-Anlage defekt war. Beim Aussteigen aus dem 10. Stock hat man schon gemerkt, dass 33 Grad am Flur waren. Im Zimmer sind wir dann auf 40 Grad gekommen. Die Klima-Anlage hat nur warme Luft abgegeben, sodass wir beide Fenster öffnen mussten, wo die Außentemperatur bei ca. 3 Grad war.
Im Restaurant hat keiner (weder Kellner, noch Restaurant-Manager) Englisch gesprochen und die Verständigung für ein einfaches Menü, als auch der Weg zur Toilette war sehr mühselig.
Ebenso funktionierte die Feedback-Seite bzw. Kontakt-Seite von Expedia auch nicht. Der Text wurde zwar eingegeben, aber der Button zum Absenden des Formulars hat nicht funktioniert (Klick ins Leere)

不満あり。帰りに空港行きのタクシーをフロントでお願いしたが、スタッフが呼んだタクシーが値段が高い配車でした。通常１２０元程度が２４０元ほどの支払いとなった。

周囲に店がない

仕事でした。ホテルは良いのですが周囲に何もなく、ホテルのストアも遅くまでは空いていないので、夜着の場合は飲食物を空港などで入手しておく必要がありますね。

Never again...

Never again, the carpets in the room were not cleaned, the beds uncomfortable and after 9 pm it was not possible to get a drink at the bar. The staff almost didn't spoke english...

鳥の巣一望

北京オリンピックメインスタジアムの隣に在ります。
初めての利用ですが、少々老朽化が目立ちます。
今回は他の方も含め３部屋借りましたが、バスルームの黒カビが目立ちました。
後は滞在中に急に寒くなりましたがエアコンが非常に弱かったです。
恐らく寒くなる時期に合わせて効くようになると思いますが・・・
鳥の巣（スタジアム）側の部屋は眺めが様ですが、正面側の眺めは至って普通です。
フロントでは少々の英語は通じますが、日本語は通じません。
朝食は一人1500円ぐらいですが、中華がメインです。

The reception gave me the room at the lowest level when checking-in noon time. That room's window is blocked by the conditioner on the roof of the other part of the building. I had to request to change to another room. It is hardly for me to believe that there were 7-8 mosquito on the ceiling or curtain and I had to request to change room again!!! The third room still has one mosquito on the ceiling. I'm angry for 2 things. One is that the lowest level's room should not treat as superior room. I paid the FIT rate which is surely higher than the group booking rate. How can the hotel try to occupy it in this way? The second issue is the hygiene of this 4-star hotel. Shame!!!

定了套房，房间挺大的，窗外就是鸟巢。早餐很好，服务也好。离商场和地铁要步行走15分钟的距离，总体很满意。

Ordentliches Hotel direkt am Olympia Park

Alles soweit in Ordnung, Bad renovierungsbedürftig aber sauber, U-Bahn ca. 15 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar, Frühstück sehr gut, bei längerem Aufenthalt aber für uns nicht abwechslungsreich genug.

Väldigt bra service, däremot är en del av personalen inte så bra på engelska. Hade utsikt över Birds Nest. WiFi på rummet, som en dag fungerade sådär.

太差了

非常不好的体验，一共预定了四晚，住了一晚就退房了。不可以退款但还是果断退房，我希望以后可以有个住户体验然后决定是否可以给退款因为真的太差了。check in的时候说我没有预定然后查询了半个小时结果是酒店的写错名字才没有查到我们的预定，住了一晚，地毯都是脏的，门也锁不上，房间有烟味，卫生间也脏的。非常差的体验。

Abgelebt und lausigste Serviceeinstellung

Hotel war im Umbau, dies wurde nicht kommuniziert, erst nach dem Einchecken. Entsprechend war ein ruhiges Arbeiten auf dem Hotelzimmer nicht möglich. Auch nicht während des Wochenendes. An einem Tag begann das Hämmern um 6.00.

Das Wasser wurde zwischenzeitlich in Folge der Massnahmen abgestellt.

Dem Wunsch nach einem ruhigen Arbeitsbereich woanders (Businesshotel!) wurde nicht entsprochen.

Das WLAN funktionierte minutenweise und dann wieder über längere Zeiträume nicht. Dem Wunsch nach einer Lösung wurde nicht entsprochen.

4성급이라 보기에 어려운 호텔

영어를 못하는 종업원, 온도가 고정된 에어컨, 8층에서도 도로의 클락션 소리가 들리는 객실, 윗층은 공사중이라 낮에 심각한 소음, 느린 WiFi, 마트 가격의 10배 정도로 비싼 미니바, 물때가 낀 청결하지 못한 욕조와 샤워기.

酒店位於鳥巢，水立方旁邊，但臨離地鐵站比較遠，步行要15/-20分鐘，酒店員工很有禮貌，會耐心聽取你的意見.今次住特大雙人床房，房很大，和比較新，整體上還可以吧！

Großhotel direkt am Olympiagelände in ca 200 Metern Entfernung zum Eingang, leider sind die Metrostationen ca 600m entfernt und nicht besonders beschildert

En plus du wifi, qui est un désastre, personne ne parle anglais. Je n'avais pas d'eau chaude dans ma chambre, j'ai mis plus d'une heure à faire venir quelqu'un car personne ne comprenait le problème... Peu de sourire, un service exécrable

편안하게 쉴 수 있는 호텔

오전에 도착했는데 체크인을 할 수 있어서 좋았습니다. 직원들은 친절했고 청결도도 비교적 괜찮았습니다. 다만 컨벤션센터에 걸어서 가기는 좀 멀었고, 지하철역이 멀어서 택시를 이용해야만 하는게 단점입니다.
