A large, modern hotel with large grounds for tennis and exercise. The hotel and its large $5 per day parking lot is conveniently located right at the entrance to old town Tomar. Its a 10 minute walk from the hotel to the center of Tomar with dozens of shops and restaurants. 20 minute walk or 10 minute car ride to the Templar castle complex.

We chose this hotel as unlike most, it had a pool - infact 2, 1 inside and 1 outside. We had a great room - large with seating area and a view of both the pool and the castle. Superking bed which was very comfortable. Disapponted no iron available. It is, by comparison to others in Tomar, a large hotel and whilst its used by coach tours its quiet whilst being in easy walking distance of the beautiful town and its attractions. There's a good choice at breakfast although the coffee machines take ages. The hotel don't seem to promote the restaurant for evening meal so we didn't try it. Would stay again

After driving through Portugal and Spain, I was thrilled to be able to park in a lot next to the hotel! The staff was friendly, the hotel is walking distance to the historic center (where there are lots of restaurants and shops). You can also walk to the Castle and Convento. Tomar is such a nice town; we were sad to leave!

Loved the easy parking, delicious breakfast and view from our room overlooking the river and park. Walked to the square and enjoyed the Art in the Streets fest and a great dinner on the parade route. A great luxurious base for exploring the area

This is a large and luxurious hotel that's a great base for exploring the area. The rooms are comfortable and huge, the staff helpful and competent, the facilities (pool, pool table, etc.) really nice (the indoor pool is quite something, though we didn't need it in the summer). Breakfast delicious in the Portuguese manner---we never tried the restaurant for dinner but it looked fine. The Templar castle/monastery is well worth a visit in itself, and Tomar has some nice restaurants. And Coimbra, Nazare, and the monasteries at Batalha and Alcobaca are all within about an hour's drive.

Hotel Dos Templarios is very well located in a quiet and safe area, which makes it convenient for exploring Tomar. However, the hotel shows its age — the facilities are outdated, and overall maintenance is poor. Staff interactions were functional but lacked warmth and professionalism. With some renovation and improved service, it could truly live up to its potential.

Three days in Tomar

Traveled to Tomar and spent three nights in the wonderful Hotel Dos Templários. The staff was great, our 2 rooms (travel with family) were great with lovely balconies and views into the town of Tomar. We did a couple of day trips from here to nearby caves and Castelo Almourol and of course visited Tomar. Pool was great on the warm days. Hotel staff even brought my son some birthday cake as they knew by our ID used for checkin that his birthday happened while we there. A nice touch!

Beatiful hotel in a beatiful area with green and river indoor (SMALL) and outdoor pools a spacious lobby and spacious nice rooms with balcony. Only issue is the relatively poor breakfast especially for vegetarian. Not big choice and not good stuff.

Overall, really beautiful place and worth the splurge. There was no WiFi in the room and the staff did not care or offer solution or compensation. Some of the staff were a little short/curt and it was not due to language barrier. I ordered a drink at the bar and provided my room #. The bartender then asked me my name and double checked it was in fact my room. I had been to the bar the day before and was not treated the same way.

This hotel was such a wonderful experience that we extended our stay for two extra nights. Plenty of secured parking at very good rates and the breakfast was easily the best we had during our two week stay. The town of Tomar was lovely with wonderful restaurants and sights. There were also lots of fun shops. A very good home base from which to visit other centrally located towns and tourist sights. Highly recommended.

She’s a grand old lady just needs updated carpets. Everything about this hotel was classy, the employees, surroundings, the outside grounds. Highly recommend this hotel. Close to all the sites you will want to visit. Sure glad we had the opportunity to stay here .

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. The staff are always friendly, the breakfast is great and caters for all tastes. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well-kept. The grounds are also well maintained by what seems an army of gardeners. There is plenty of parking. One negative though, which my partner always comments on, is the unevenness of the carpet in the bar area, her being not so clever on her pins, is always weary of trip hazards.

Great hotel, clean and safe, old town Tomar is right accross the street. Clean pool, great bar, we traveled every day so the breakfast buffet came in handy before hitting the road or going on tours. Very happy with our stay at the Hotel. American Airlines lost our bags, on day 3 we returned to our room and found that our bags had magically arrived, thank you for helping us, we had a awesome time in Tomar.

Wonderful hotel with many facilities and a great breakfast, but unfortunatly I could not experience all of it as Tomar was too beautiful to spend time in this great hotel, I only had two days and there is too much to see in the area to enjoy the hotel in that short time.

For some reason I would say the hotel has too many facilities for a place people visit to enjoy the history rather than the holiday.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm glad to stay in a hotel that had more than I could ever ask for.

If it were not for the front desk woman with brown hair and glasses our stay would have been great. She was relentless and annoying, taking up a good amount of my time arguing about my reservation. She needs to learn about customer relations and PR.

Otherwise, the pool and room were spectacular as was the bar tender. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant and the close proximity to town.

I though charging for the thimble sized coffee in the room was a bit much. Do I didn’t drink it.

Amazing hote with wonderful staff

Fantastic hotel and staff. This is absolutely the best place to stay in Tomar and we loved the pool. Our duplex room was stunning with amazing terraced. So comfortable and the beds set up for the children were brilliant.

Beautiful hotel, large and modern. Our room was very good, with a balcony and a nice view of the Templars' Castle and the river. Good buffet breakfast. The only disappointment was about dinner at the hotel's restaurant. The menu was very limited and the food was tasteless.

And, being a house in Tomar, it was mandatory that everything should remain the same, as much as possible, while change took place, so all the valuable architectural elements have been carefully preserved. At Casa dos Ofícios, we are inspired by that passion for doing well what there is to be done and we honor those who have done so in the past.

Each of our 14 rooms looks at one of the many arts and trades which in the past have shaped the history of the city, adding up with their daily labor to the monumentality of one of the most beautiful cities in Portugal. We don't aim at compromising your rest with thoughts of work; we have not aspired to blend an hotel and an ethnographic museum; and we certainly don't intend to sell you “handcrafts” of dubious origins.

With something like small cabinets of curiosities, we just keep and display fragments of the ways used to do one's best in several activities, memories of a not so distant past and of those who helped in building the setting of our present. It was and is also through their work (and that of so many others) that Tomar was and is made, in this pleasant and leisurely way of exercising the art of existing.
