A lovely and tranquil property. It is located in a park, surrounded by a river. The staff is very nice, as are the rooms. They have an indoor and outdoor pool as well as a sauna. The breakfast is excellent in a nice atmosphere. There are about 16 or so parking spots next to the hotel, but a parking lot just over a walking bridge which is close by.

This a very cool hotel. The room had very cool features like a motorized skylight window, shower want in the toilet (bidet style). and very nice appointments.

The food was good in the restaurant and the service was too until the \"Rick Steves\" tour group arrived. Then we were basically ignored. If you see a sign in the restaurant for a tour group, either eat well before they get there or eat elsewhere.

Good size room which was very clean, as was the bathroom. Fridge, safe and coffee machine in room. Bathrobes and slipper, soft drinks also in the room. Staff all friendly, helpful and efficient. Breakfast good, hot and cold buffet. Parking available. Easy walk to centre of town, a couple of minutes across the bridge.

An attractive hotel on an island in the river running thru Tomar. It is surrounded by parkland. A restaurant on the ground floor, which has excellent food, and rooms above. Our room was dual aspect with a the luxury touches we like. Bath robes, slippers, good quality toiletries and scales. The room had small fridge with complementary water & soft drinks. Nespresso coffee machine with pods and a good selection of tea . Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast again very good buffet with hot and cold dishes. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking adjacent to the hotel.

This was a nice property, but before I go into details I need to emphasize that even though I had read in advance the issues about finding this facility, and I had all the instructions with me, we STILL had trouble finding it. Google maps will lead you to another hotel - Hotel dos Templários - and even with their front desk explaining the (very common) mistake, it was still a bit of a challenging driving to find that 'pedestrian-looking' bridge that leads to Estalagem de Santa Iria. However, once there it is a nice place to stay! It's very pleasant being situated in a park instead facing a street! The room was large, with a large bathroom too. Small but pleasant indoor/outdoor pool area, and breakfast was one of the more substantial of those we had during our trip. Nice views from the breakfast room. We were able to walk to the town centre from the hotel, and walking back at night, had a nice view of the lit-up castle on the hill.

What a beautiful hotel! The staff could not have been more gracious and helpful. The room and bathroom were lovely, the water hot, the towels fluffy. In-room robes were a nice touch. The breakfast was beautifully presented, delicious, and plentiful. Patricia, our main concierge, was beyond helpful and charming. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and stay there again.

A favorite

This was our favorite stay of our many weeks' trip throughout Portugal. It is a charming European style hotel with a modern twist. It felt like a home away from home. The staff was so very friendly and knowledgeable about Tomar and surrounding area. The hotel is situated on BEAUTIFUL grounds that we strolled several times during our stay. This is a place to enjoy and refresh, and we can't wait to return one day.

Loved this Hotel! It was our favorite of our six hotels on this trip. We stayed three nights. It sits on a beautiful park and river with easy free parking. We loved our room, the deck, the park, the river, the restaurant. David and the rest of the staff took great care of us. They were always trying make sure we were comfortable. So beautiful! Terrific amenities such as indoor/outdoor pool, massage therapist, fresh squeezed oj and papaya and fresh bread, amazing pastries and farm fresh eggs each morning. And soooo walkable! All the staff - guest services, dining staff, housekeeping were kind, helpful, gracious, and welcoming!! The hotel is set in a park on the river with walking bridges to each side. And our balcony looking over the park and river and phenomenal views of Knights Templar castle, which is within walking distance from the hotel.

Lovely balcony and nice room, bed was super comfortable and shower had great pressure - it had everything we needed. The spa is cute - though pool is definitely not big enough for a swim, we enjoyed the sauna and jacuzzi. Staff were great and it was nice to be surrounded by a park.
Breakfast was passable, rather than great, but it was inexpensive, so cannot complain :)

Hôtel remarquable situé au milieu d'une île. Empruntez le petit pont à côté de la roue de moulin, même si au premier abord le passage semble interdit : c'est bien l'entrée de l'hôtel. Chambre très confortable, bonne literie, machine Nespresso, grande salle de bain. Le service est impeccable : une pensée pour Patricia qui a pu nous changer de chambre suite à une défectuosité de la climatisation et qui est charmante en plus d'être d'un professionnalisme exceptionnel. Piscine avec jets pour le dos et sauna très agéable. Déjeuner très bon.

Excellent hotel,

The hotel is on an island with the river which runs through Tomar surrounding it.
On our arrival we could not see how to get onto the island and into the hotel grounds in our car, necessitating a phone call to the hotel reception. We were directed to drive over what appears to be a pedestrian footbridge which has a large ‘No Entry’ sign, but if look carefully, underneath is a very small sign saying ‘except for access to the hotel’, which we hadn’t previously noticed.

Once in the hotel grounds parking is easy and the hotel is set in lovely surroundings. On entering the hotel we were greeted by the hotel receptionist (Patricia) who immediately made us feel extremely welcome. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. Our room was superb, and our balcony overlooked a green space and trees at the front of the hotel.
The bed was comfortable, everything was spotlessly clean and breakfast was delicious.

All the staff were extremely pleasant, helpful and courteous. In fact something I really appreciated was the attention to detail, for example the staff noticed from my check-in details that my birthday fell during our stay there. Neither my wife or I had said a word so it was a complete surprise on the morning of my birthday they gave me with a slice of cake with a candle.

The hotel is also centrally located so you can easily walk to explore the town and visit the castle etc.

We very much enjoyed our stay here and we will definitely stay here again when we visit Tomar.

Overall our stay was lovely and the hotel is conveniently located within beautiful grounds. A few things to consider for improvement though; the shower leaks onto the bathroom floor which soaked up the towels every time we had a shower. The bathroom floor therefore became very slippery, which could be quite unsafe if someone did not have fast reflexes (I almost slipped a few times). Although the staff provided a new floor towel, the old, soaked towel was not removed. The spa is lovely, but the temperature of the water was not warm enough to be comfortable to relax, so we were unable to enjoy as much as we wanted to. Staff was accommodating with a request for an iron for clothes (although usually my experience is that hotels often have these in each room).

Great view surrounded by beautiful lake and lovely trees. The entire is enhanced by the beautiful autumn leaves. One downside is the swimming pool is a little small. Nice staff and good service. It’s a short stay but I highly recommend to stay here for at least two nights.

Hotel was lovely. Room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the park. Bed very comfortable. Staff very friendly. Right in the Centre of Tomar so very easy to walk everywhere.
A little difficult to find as it’s hard to see the hotel as it’s set back in the park and there is no signage. You drive over a bridge that looks like it’s no access. Plenty of parking once we found it!
Spa small but great. Sauna, outside jacuzzi and small in door pool. We used it both days we stayed.
Breakfast buffet ok. You can order eggs freshly cooked.
We would stay again and we loved Tomar.
