We had a really great time. The water villas are picturesque and offer a secluded section of the island that only the water villa guests have access to (which is great given there aren’t so many of them). The water villa beach is super for swimming. Special shout-out to our butler, Raj, who couldn’t have been any more helpful throughout our stay. We would definitely return.

The water villas consist of two separate rooms, each with its own deck. The room is quite spacious and has a beautiful deck overlooking the ocean. Snorkeling is amazing next to the water villas and there are various water sports and scuba diving activities available. We did snorkeling with manta rays, which can be quite scary at first, but definitely a fun experience (and completely harmless).

The island is quite small (700m from one side to another) and can be reached by seaplane, which is a 45-minute trip from Male. Besides scuba and water sports, the island has a gym, a spa and a reflexology center. The massages at the Chinese reflexology center are definitely a must-try (but do book in advance).

As a guest of the water villas, you get access to the bars and restaurants of Adaaran Select Beach Villas, plus the Water Villa Restaurant, which offers nice views towards the ocean and an a la carte menu. The staff at the restaurant are all very helpful and they try to go out of their way to cater to your needs & wishes. Sakuni and Ayman were very friendly and made our experience even more wonderful.

All on all, we had a great time. A little touch-up wouldn't hurt the facilities (the rooms, gym, spa, restaurants), as they're a bit old-fashioned.

Stayed in one of the prestige water villas for 9 nights. Not one thing to complain about. It was the greatest vacation I have ever taken.

The villa, the butler, the fine dining staff, The bar staff, and everyone at the spa were exceptional.

Well worth the 25 hours it took to get there each way.

Great service and beaches. Seeplane transportation is a bit combersome, especially on the way in. The main disadvantage is lack of 24/7 options for food , the schedule to get food is very strict. Another missing part there is no waiters/drinks on the beach. The rest was awesome

The description on the website could not do justice to the actual resort when we arrived. The villa was superb. The fine dining was excellent. The beach and snorkelling areas were amazing. Broadly speaking, we had a wonderful stay at AP Water Villas. Our “butler,” Raj, tended to our every need, and the restaurant’s wait staff were lovely as well. The food was top notch, and the chef was always willing to accommodate my specialized food requests (as a vegetarian). The water villa itself was spacious and clean, and snorkeling in the ocean which surrounds the villa was amazing.

Downsides included:

*The receptionist was rude/unfriendly (not a great way to start your holiday after 24 hours in transit);
*The resort’s manager (as well as several male staff) completely ignored me, addressing only my husband in conversation (for example, about how our stay was), despite the fact that it was me who booked and paid for the vacation;
*The fitness facilities are extremely dated and insufficiently air conditioned, despite being reasonably busy;
*The resort allows smoking throughout, which as a nonsmoker was off putting (especially re restaurant areas);
*The villa jacuzzi is fed by a geyser which is insufficient to fill it with hot water (rendering it somewhat useless);
*There’s no swim up bar or wait staff at the water villa pool, which seems odd;
*The water villa restaurant serves instant coffee, which is bizarre given the quality of food and drink otherwise provided.

All in all, we had a lovely time and would highly recommend staying here. My advice is if you stay here, raise any desires/concerns/etc with your butler and he will do his best to address them.

A dream honeymoon

We just got back from our honeymoon where we stayed at the Adaaran Water Villas for 10 nights - the trip was nothing short of a dream. Aside from the gorgeous scenery and views, the service at the villas was impeccable. Each time we left our room we would come back to a made-up room. They would be in there several times a day! The villa itself is gorgeous - the room is very spacious, and of course the deck is what makes the villa special. It has a see-through glass floor, jacuzzi, a table (the all-inclusive package comes with in-room breakfast!), and of course the stairs into the ocean.

I have always dreamed of spending my honeymoon in an overwater bungalow, and I am so thankful that we chose to spend our honeymoon at the Adaaran Water Villas. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I preface this review as a 10 year hospitality veteran with leading hotel chains - Marriott & Hilton. My travel to Maldives was for our honeymoon. Our stay was in the Water Villas for 9 days.

The team here is highly lacking true hospitable gesture in all they do. They are extremely reactive and not proactive at all. Several examples are having to ask for a refilled beverage at dinner, offering alternative options if one does not like what’s on the menu, stating I would not come back due to different issues then they were willing to address them.

The drink package - this is a story in itself. There are two sides to the island, the water villa side and the rest of the island. On the water villa side there is a restaurant, lounge (with only chairs - like one would have on their outdoor patio, board games and books and a pool. If you purchase the premium (or gold as they refer to it sometimes) all-inclusive package be aware that the cocktails are only included on the villa side of the island. The reason I spotlight this is because all entertainment, shows, activities, etc are on the other side of the island where the other 200+ rooms are. You may get a drink on the other side, but it is like 5 cocktails with the cheapest liquors one could use, cheaper beer and wine.

Ruan (chief) asked us the next day to please take time to sit in the lounge to write a review and we would be rewarded for it - unethical for sure.You cannot ask your guests for a good review by bribing them

The concept of the over the water villa and having the Indian Ocean as our backyard was memorable and unforgettable. Overall the condition of our villa and the common areas were well maintained as evidenced by the handymen and landscapers that worked diligently everyday that we were there.

My only point of contention was the ability to freely enjoy the restaurants. To be clear, the water villas are the most prestigious residences compared to the the villas located on the island, and there is a significant price difference. We stayed in the water villa for six days which included the fine dining restaurant that was full service. From the beginning my wife and I wanted to experience the other restaurants especially the buffet during breakfast and lunch to break up the monotony. I still don't fully understand why they have a policy to call ahead of time when nearly 50% of their expansive dining room was empty. The third time we ate at the buffet restaurant three of the buffet servers approached us quite aggressively asking if we made a reservation with our butler. When we explained that we did they gave us a look as though we were lying and tried seating us in a highly trafficked corner table near the host podium. Again, nearly half of the large dining room was empty and we felt their actions were somewhat retaliatory and petty. Needless to say we didn't feel comfortable eating there that day and filed a complaint with our butler.

Please, CONFIRM with the hotel, not once, not twice but at least three times regarding the transfer from the airport to the hotel. We had it confirmed twice, both through e-mail and phone but STILL they did not register our transfer so we had to sit in their lounge for 8 HOURS.
We arrived 07 AM in Male Airport and knew that the flight transfer was sometime between 09-11.00 but when we arrived to the counter after recieving our luggage they told us THAT WE HAD'NT CONTACTED THE HOTEL regarding the arrival time to arrange a transfer so they told us that we will be in the next transfer which was around 3-4 PM...

I showed the staff our confirmation but still nothing, we had to sit in the lounge for 8-9 hours for the next flight, this was the worst ever experience we've ever had during a trip.

Next issue, our flight transfer back to Male from the hotel, they knew our flight to Dubai was 11 PM (23.00), still they put us on a early flight, so around 1 PM we were forced out from the hotel to fly back to Male airport, when we arrive, they sad that they dont have departure service so we had to wait in Male Airport (check in counter area) from 2PM to 8PM (6 hours). We saw some other guest from the hotel in the airport, they arrived 6PM with a later flight, so the hotel forced us out early so we basicly missed out 2 days in the hotel, both the first day and the last day.

Other than this two issues everything was great, the staff, barmens, the food, everything was excellent.

Everything at this resort was absolutely INCREDIBLE. Extraordinary location, food, and service. There is not a single thing that disappointed with the exception of our butler who was not as attentive and responsive as other butlers our fellow travelers had. I expected more from him but other than that I can not even being to tell you how incredible the entire experience was from start to finish.

Upon arrival we were greeted by three individuals and transported to the private part of the Island/Resort, upon entering the room you could tell that they truly took pride in their rooms, decor, and cleanliness.

The restaurant is exceptional and the menu changes every day, the breakfast is simply what we. looked forward to every day. We were so sad to leave.

Would have been great for romantic couple

The setting was very private and picturesque. House reef was nice and can be access from the room. Room was very well-equipped and beautifully decorated. The island is very small and has no access to anything outside. So if you are a solo traveller like me who want a lot of activities, education and adventures, or going with a family with children who need to be constantly pre-occupied, the resort doesn't have enough activities and attractions, unless you pay for many excursions. However, if you go as a romantic couple, this place gives you a very beautiful and relaxing setting.

Perfect Oasis (wonderful people, scenery & food)

My husband and I traveled to Meedhuparu for our honeymoon and WOW, what an incredible experience.

From the very first moment (the sea plane views) to arrival, we were treated like royalty by the kind staff.

We were greeted by our amazing butler, Adam, who saw that we had everything that we needed to have a wonderful week. Adam was so helpful and attentive and we really enjoyed getting to know him better. He also organized our week and made it so we didn't have to worry about a thing. He was the definition of excellent customer service.

The villas are amazing - perfect privacy with the most beautiful views. You can even snorkel right off the back whenever you want! I would highly recommend getting up early to watch the sunrise on your deck.

The food was incredible. We were skeptical going in but were left delighted with each meal.

Breakfast - a lot of options but make sure you try the Island breakfast - it's unreal. Fresh roti, coconut milk rice, dhal, and curries. Also, the best fresh juice ever!!!

Lunch - a three course meal with lots of great options. Make sure you at least get one plate with the fries - they are amazing

Dinner - five courses (with 2 palate cleansers) - amazing. Always get the fish dish and my husband loved the lamb. The chef does a great job of providing a balanced plate with lots of flavor.

Most of all we loved our servers. We mostly had Nazeeh and Mohammed. We always had fantastic customer service and enjoyed getting to know them!

Trip to paradise!

This island is a good size and there are some regular hotel facilities on the island. We didn’t know what to expect as we had never been to such a remote place. The water villas are superb. I can’t say about the beach villas. The staff are axcellent! Very ententive and pleasant. Our butler Adam was good and helped us out. The only issue we had was we had to spend our first night elsewhere due to issues with the villa, that was a pain after such a long journey.

Great experience with this hotel/resort. The room was kept in great condition and had no issues. On a particularly stormy day we got some rain in (under the door), but this was easily fixed placing a towel down and only occured once. The room was very clean and the staff cleaned it twice a day. The Butler helps arrange anything that you want on the island. We had great dives with Divepoint there and had 2 1 hour massages at the chavana spa on the island. Food was amazing at the water villa restaurant, staff was very friendly and helped ensure you enjoyed yourself.

We traveled 30h from NYC just to come to this resort. I would do it all over again. Me and my husband had the time of our lives. We had the water villa bungalow which was very private. Our butler Raj was wonderful! Went out his way every chance he could get. Didn't experience anything negative at all. We just got home and are planning our trip back lol.. here's a tip. Bring your own sunscreen and soaps. Sunscreen was $35. We enjoyed the all inclusive food and drinks. Lots of fish and different kinds of birds. Reminded us of the show \"lost\" lol.. had a great time thank you addaran and thank you Raj for making our honeymoon amazing.

Beautiful Resort, Excellent Staff

The beauty of the Maldives is enough to take anyone's breath away. Add to that the impeccable service we received for our 5 day stay, and you have the perfect vacation for relaxation. Our butler Chandan was polite, friendly, unintrusive, and EXTREMELY helpful. He single handedly catered to all our needs and made awesome suggestions for how to enjoy our time at Adaaran.

Pros: Chandan is an excellent butler. Water bungalow was clean and in good condition. Ocean access and snorkeling is very easy.

Cons: If you're of African decent, you may get the occasional rude guest and awkward stares, otherwise Adaaran Prestige is paradise.

Perfection.

My trip to the Maldives was on my bucket list as a celebration for my 50th birthday. The overall experience far exceeded my expectations. From the moment we landed to the final minute of departure we were treated royally. The service of our personal butler Rajesh, was exceptional, a warm smile, attentive and genuine, patient and accommodating. It really added a very nice feel to the trip.The bar / restaurant staff, Handulla and Azhar particularly provided excellent and attentive service. Their work ethic, and interest they showed when serving was superior.
The quality of the food at the restaurant was of a very high standard, great variety,perfect size portions with flavors and taste out of this world. Koudos to the chef.
The villas are maintained very well and clean, with detailed house keeping and a great turn down service.
The private beaches literally are to yourself, the most we had on the beach at any one time was 4 people! The pool area excellent. I cannot rave enough about this experience.
As far as negatives, it is a not a place for children. The focus and ambiance is purely on couples. The infinity pool should also be for adults only and no children or pool toys allowed, it kind of takes away the moment.
I would definitely recommend the water villas to my friends and family. Highly recommend paying the extra and go all inclusive.

We felt like royalty from when we got off of the float plane until check-out. Staying in the water villas rather than the other part of the resort, we got to enjoy a very exclusive experience. The villas were superb, offering a great view and a large deck to enjoy. Great snorkelling right off the steps of our villa; saw a new species of fish every time we went out, and were even lucky enough to see a turtle. The beach and pool were nearly empty every time we went, leaving it for us to enjoy on our own. The food at the restaurant was excellent, with a good variety to choose from. The staff were all great, especially our regular waiter, Mohamed. A beach dinner, spa treatment, and sunset cruise were all included if you stayed more than three nights, and were all great. Highly recommend!

I wanted to get my wife the vacation of her life for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. I didn't want to be looking at the pricetag, as that would tighten my grip on the level of pleasure that I wanted her to have and to feel. I booked the Adaaran Prestige Water Villas on the looks of the hotel and the reviews that it got.
First off, when we got off of the Sea Plane ride (AWESOME VIEWS), the two staff members ushered my wife and I to a large golfing style cart and whisked us away to the check in counter for the Water Villas. The other people on the plane were for the sister hotel (4 star) and they walked to check in.
During check in, they gave us an iced tea that out of this world. We were treated like king and queen. Then we went back into the cart and they drove over the overwater roadway to our room, where we met our butler, Chandan. He was fantastic and he took care of our every need.
Now, the food is out of this world at the Water Villas. The Chef comes out at night to talk to you. The best part is like the butler, the waiter in the hotel is assigned to your room, so he serves you almost all meals. He becomes knowing of what you like and dislike and he can make suggestions for you. Ours was Freeluck and he is the most charming and sincere young man. He was the treasure of our trip. They have a huge amount of things going on with the kitchen and they will amaze you. ALL INCLUSIVE IS SPECTACULAR.

Perfect honeymoon getaway!

After a lot of research, we chose Adaaran Prestige water villas to spend our honeymoon in Maldives. We were delighted right from the start! The property is very well maintained and offers privacy and stunning views of the sea. The water is very clear and the reef offers good snorkelling options. Our butler, Yamin was efficient and very helpful. He also organized a special dinner and cake for my husband's birthday. It was a very memorable stay and we would love to be back!

Villas were nice but food was really bad. Not value for all inclusive. Hot dog was given for breakfast.

This was our 6th visit to the water villas and we were very satisfied with all aspects of the hotel. The rooms are great and kept perfectly clean by the hard working and friendly room boys, the food is good overall, although I think the range of food available is a little less varied than previous trips, but again the waiters are very good and friendly.
Overall the hotel is very good, and any minor issues are more than compensated for by the outstanding staff, especially our butler Asif who ensured we had everything we wanted

Honeymoon on the Villas

You really get what you pay for! It was an amazing stay! Beachside dinner, excursions, snorkeling, couples massages! Food was amazing! The staff was magnificent... our butler Yaamin was truly great, very relax and easy going. Restaurant manager hasajith was awesome and whenever at his restaurant his staff is great, in particularly Freeluck and Hamdula! Great staff for whatever your needs maybe... Rooms cleaned 2x a day!! Beautiful views everywhere you go! Cannot go wrong with this place!

Nice rooms but just staff who were doing their job

Stayed in the water villas for 3 nights.
Room was pleasant, not too old with nice views and direct access to the sea via a ladder from the room.
There was a sunbed and jacuzzi at the balcony. Jacuzzi was slightly old and dirty.
Rooms were cleaned up twice a day with plenty 6 towels at any time.
There was a complimentary mini bar which was replenished daily.
Bed was slightly hard and bedsheets were abit rough.
Each room came with a butler which I find that they are just doing their job but will not go the extra mile.

All meals and drinks were included and it came in the form of fine dining.
You are able to order more than 1 main dish for each meal.
Service staff was also just doing their job, will not make you feel at home.

Activities were lacking. Not much entertainment except 2 common girls singing which was not up to expectation.
Sea sports were extremely expensive.
Massage was expensive and I find it not worth it.

Failed to see any special fishes like baby sharks etc. Only able to see the common fishes which got a bit boring by day 2.

Checking out was not too pleasant. Felt like we were just being thrown out. Caucasian lady fetched us via buggy to the sea plane waiting area. When we reached, she just said to wait in the room for the sea plane. No good byes or anything.

Dream Vacation

I stayed at Adaaran Prestige Water Villas in July 2016. My trip to was every bit of amazing. We loved our Butler Raj his service was outstanding. He was there to help us with any and everything we needed. I loved everything about the resort from the food to the staff. The waiters at the Water Villa restaurant was also excellent. The food was delicious. I'd definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking to travel to Maldives.

Paradise? Come on! More than that!

Me and my wife stayed at Adaaran Prestige for our honeymoon for five days between October 25th and November 1st 2015. (so we have fresh info guys!) That was an amazing honeymoon and we think that everyone should see this island and Adaaran Prestige Hotel.

The staff were very helpful, food which is very important was fantastic, rooms were clean and we felt \"private\" during our whole holiday. Also the sea, the atoll, the beach as well as the nature of the island was amazing! Our villa (room 812, \"sunset\" room, highly recommended!) was located exactly over a coral reef. We saw lots of gorgeous fishes and marine creatures even \"under\" our water villa and the small guys were so amazing that we were fascinated with them and surprised about how so many beautiful creatures (of which we even don't have any idea about their names) live in such a clean and wonderful environment!

Our butler, Asif was a very kind and hardworking guy and took care of our every need immediately. We also met with the (if I'm not mistaken) Sri Lankan chef cook, who is a nice man and cooks the very delicious, 5-star and well-presented meals. (Man, those were the best beef we've ever tasted! We salute you!)

In short, everything was exactly perfect, that was a real dreamy pleasure holiday and was really relaxing!
Look forward to visiting that paradise-on-earth as soon as possible!

Our stay at the Adaaran Prestige Water Villas was fantastic. The location was sensational , with our villas directly over a tropical fish laden coral reef.
Our butler, Raj, took care of our every need and ensured our stay was a delight.
The multicourse 5 star sit down meals were presented beautifully and were delicious.
The island itself has all the amenities including scuba, sailing, jetskis, fishing etc to ensure our stay was as active or restful as we chose.
A beautiful location and a great place to relax.
