We had a wonderful stay at Center Grand Resort. The property is truly stunning, with beautiful landscaping throughout. We were particularly impressed by the thoughtful garden art arranged by the grounds team—it added a special touch. The staff were consistently kind and welcoming, and we appreciated the easy access to the pool. The housekeeping was thorough, and the private beach was lovely.

Our only suggestion for improvement would be the gym, which felt a bit small and limited in terms of equipment. We hope this is something that might be expanded in the future.

Centara Hua Hin is just not the same nice place anymore that it used to be. We’ve stayed here numerous times since 1980/81 when it was still the Railway Hotel. These days it appears to be a bit too money-hungry. The main opportunity for improvement at this point is, in my opinion, to be honest with the guests and notify them in advance that there is a major construction project going on which eliminates the nicest pool and guests have to look at an ugly temporary wall instead. Offering rooms at discounted prices during the construction process would be another appropriate option. Because of these drawbacks it was probably our last stay at Centara

The staff is probably the most courteous and professional I’ve experienced in many years. The only minor negative about the resort is that the room was lacking outlets and the lighting was dull. Also no hand held bidet sprayer next to the toilet. I understand they are keeping the historical charm of the building and they’ve done a great job with that. The garden are amazing.

Grand Old World Charm on the beach.

Centara is such a convenient hotel to all the amenities of Hua Hin.

Access to the beach is great and if you’re not interested in the beach the pools are all excellent options.

The hotel itself is grand with incredible old world charm.

All the town has to offer is within a 15 minute walk.

Beautiful decor that recalls the 19th century heyday of aristocratic Siamese tourism by the Chakri dynasty court, which gave Hua Hin its start. The whole property feels classy and elegant, decorated with many antiques and good simulacra of Franco-Siamese architecture of the colonial era. Comfy beds, great bathrooms, nice pool area and easy beach access.

We go the HH every time we visit Thailand for short getaways but have always stayed at the Hilton. This time we decided to stay next door and were not disappointed. Awesome resort and definitely will return.

Fun Visit to Hua Hin

The Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin provided us with an amazing stay. We had a basic King bed accommodation with a partial ocean view. It was a wonderful place to be. This historical campus preserves its interesting past but is also kept very much up-to-date with two large pool areas and right next to the beach. The staff was incredible, and the hospitality shown was excellent. There’s even a daycare for young families. The food selection was very good and the cocktails were well made. It is also minutes walk from great places to eat, drink, or get a spa treatment in Hua Hin proper and to visit the night market. The hotel was also very secure and well-monitored it was already a safe town.

Mixed review. The room was amazing and dpacious with an enormous bed and I had a great view overlooking the sea.
The housekeeping staff and the team at breakfast were also very friendly and always greeted, but the rest of the staff were a bit stand offish, especially at the pool.
I went to The Club one evening to get a coffee and something small to eat, but was told they only had a buffet and it was mostly for club members, even though the sign clearly says hotel guests welcome. It was suggested I go somewhere else, which I did and did eat again, other than breakfast, at this resort.

Excellent hotel at a great location right on Hua Hin beach! We received an upgraded room (JR Suite?) very spacious with a massive balcony overlooking the pool and sea. The 2 pools were very nice and water temperature was very refreshing but not freezing! The sea was VERY warm! Very nice beach and you can walk out quite a ways! We ate at the pool restaurant a couple of times which was very good. This was the second Centara Grand we stayed at (stayed in Pattaya as well). Highly recommended!

Somewhat faded grandeur

Grand 1920s colonial style hotel. Reasonably well maintained but my room was tired and various things didn’t work well (door, plug socket). Room also fairly small by today’s standards in Hua Hin and old style fittings in bathroom.

Demographic is almost entirely white European couples aged 65+. Creates a peaceful environment but may not be for everyone.

Coast restaurant good. Breakfast a wide choice but lacking a little in some areas by today’s 5 star hotel standards (eg nuts and seeds). Old coffee machine; a newer one would make better cappuccini.

A gap of eight years since I last went, apparently. Front desk didn’t note I’d been three or four times when asking me if was my first visit there. In eight years, nothing has changed: no enhancements, same gym machines, old fashioned sun beds etc. I suspect the many returning clients like the no change thing but the competition has moved forward a lot in eight years. With some investment and imagination, the hotel could probably broaden its demographic. If it wants to. Maybe it doesn’t.

I sense returning clients are well looked after. At times, we couldnt get apparently vacant sunbeds and had to find another pool because ‘users returning’. This shouldn’t happen or at least set ‘returners’ an 60-90 minute absence time limit.

We stayed in one of the villas with a private pool. Big, comfy bed, good water pressure from the showers, jasmine scented soaps / shampoos were very nice. The outdoor tub was excellent and filled very quickly (less than 5 minutes). Very relaxing atmosphere and they did a great job separating all the pool areas to make it feel like a smaller hotel, despite it being a big resort. Garden areas were beautiful and well maintained. If you're staying in the villas around NYE, be prepared for some noise as the villas numbered in the 400's and 500's back onto the public beach where revellers will be lighting fireworks until early hours - not recommended for light sleepers - but it is New Years after all so celebrations are to be expected. No issues with noise from Jan 2nd. Good food options for Vegans and vegetarians.

An absolutely beautiful property and the staff was among the best anywhere. Really wonderful. We originally got a villa but decided we'd rather have a room and the staff helped us to move to a beautiful corner room with a sea view. And this was on Christmas Eve when there was little availability. Also, the breakfasts were superb, as well as the restaurant near the beach. The only disappointment was that there was no bum gun and this is one of the most Thai properties I've ever experienced. My Thai girlfriend really struggled with this. Apart from that, we had a lovely stay.

This is an excellent hotel, full of charm, and human sized. It was very good to see a variety of restaurants and bars, all on the ground level, each with its own atmosphere and staff uniform. Staff were unfailingly polite, friendly and efficient. There were plenty of outdoor loungers, free to use, and with staff on hand to indulge your every whim. The period charm is well preserved, although this means that our bathroom was a little old fashioned, but adequate. Our room looked out to the sea, made better with a terrace attached. I would certainly visit here again.

Back to Hua Hin Thailand and third time lucky arriving at this impressive hotel reception with the most welcoming of welcomes, cool drink, classic check in and personal greeting from the manager Jan before being whisked away on the golf buggy to our large pool villa located across the beach road. We felt like we had arrived home. Please see our previous reviews and enjoy our update here.

The villa was large, private pool just as large as last time, with a comfy outside day bed for breaks out of the direct sun. Inside, a very comfy super king bed, and ample storage, perfect for longer trips or larger families, easily sleeping up to 4 persons. Rustic charm, unique and definitely not branded like the chain hotels nearby. A really nice base for a visit to Hua Hin, located right in the middle of everything and Grand by and in nature.

Check out was friendly and private, located in the villa section, bags taken care of from the room to departure. It was sad leaving here but I won’t forget the smiles and waves from the manager and staff as we left this great hotel.

The real gem here is the staff, with service now 5 star plus. Land of smiles starts here by far, nothing is too much trouble, guest centric and thoughtful service, especially in the club, staff remembering likes and dislikes and ensuring comfort by directing sun canopy’s and fans when needed. The Centara Grand is our Hua Hin home away from home and we will be back.

This is our new favourite resort hotel in Hua Hin. The colonial style of the building and old fashioned friendly service give the impression of stepping back in time. There’s a choice of charming cafe, beach bistro or more formal dining, all excellent. The hotel is very central and has stunning sea views and easy access to a public stretch of beach where monks receive offerings at dawn every day. Centara is brilliant value for money compared with similar resort hotels in Hua Hin. You can see why many guests return year after year.

We stayed in a private villa and have to say that this was one of the best hotel we stayed in Huahin. The room is really nice and clean with terrace space and pool that you can relax. The villa area is separated on the other side, so it‘s a bit far from hotel facilities but there‘s a buggy service 24 hour and you can still walk around. The good thing is it‘s private and very quiet in the area. Around the property, there‘s a shopping street area that you can walk. All staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and food are great and there‘s variety of options you can select. Would definitely go back again.

There‘s some small ants walking around table but this probably because the villa is located around the garden area and it‘s quite nature. It’s quite minimal but would be better if it can be prevented.

What a lovely classy hotel with old world charm. I feel I have traveled back in time to an by gone era of grandeur and elegance. The staff is courteous and welcoming. The rooms may not be up to the modern day comfort standard but everything is functional for a relaxing vacation. The garden grounds and the building architecture are the gems of this resort. I love wandering through the beautiful marble and wood corridors and porticos and the extensive lush gardens. My favourite places are the quiet library and the charming railway museum which serves as a lovely parlor to enjoy an afternoon tea. There are many quiet places in the hotel ground with comfortable chairs to read and relax after a day at the beach or pool. The beach directly in front of the hotel is clean and suitable for swimming. You can walk along the fine sand beach up and down for miles. The location is very convenient as one can walk to the vibrant night market or the train station within 10 minutes. The restaurants on site are food with reasonable prices (about the same prices as trendy restaurants in Bangkok locals go to). We had to change our pre booked car back to Bangkok and the hotel staff was very kind and assisted us finding another car last minute. I enjoyed our stay here very much. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to experience classic Thai hospitality and something much more than the cookie cutter hotel experience.

Our ocean view room was literaly next to the beach, spent lots of time on spacious balcony enjoying the view and peacefulness.
The old world furniture is fantastic, breakfast was 10/10, singers and musicians in the Elephant bar wonderful, staff in this bar excellent.

Centara Grand hotel at Hua Hin

We decided to drive from Bangkok to Hua Hin to spend the weekend at this nice colonial beach resort; beautiful garden, excellent service and very relaxing massage. Exquisite food at the poolbar.
