I was debating between several islands within the Maldives. I am SOOOO happy my family and I choose to stay with The W. The service was absolutely impeccable, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my wife and 3 year old daughter (especially Ms. Hadi and Mr. Ali). Our overwater suite was stunningly beautiful. The water sports and activities were experiences I’ll cherish forever. The coral reef around the island was breathtaking and like none of I’ve ever seen before.

Food quality and service level is top-notch!

We stayed in a water villa for 3 nights with half board. The breakfast was standard international buffet of decent standard. Once you sat down, the staff will ask for your selection of drinks and breakfast orders (e.g. eggs, local maldivian food, indian food selections, etc.) and the rest is via the buffet option. Tbe dinner options were amazing!! Half-board comes with 3-course meal where you can select from the existing menu. Fire restaurant serves very good grills, Fish restaurant serves excellent seafood with very nice plating and the Kitchen restaurant provides various cuisines. The quality of the food is very very good! Needless to say, the service standard is also very high! All the staffs were ready to provide any information/help you need and you can simply text the frontdesk via Whatsapp to order in room dining, make requests or ask questions. The island has a resident Hawksbill Sea Turtle and Grey Heron. Other than the colourful reef fishes, we also spotted blacktip reef sharks, nurse shark and whitetail stingray! Everything was perfect during our stay just that the island is on the smallish side but the food quality and service level was really top-notch! Will totally recommend couples and families to stay with W Maldives.

What a magical experience we had at the W Maldives!!

From the moment we arrived in Malé, the W team at the airport (Ismail and Ahmed) made us feel like VIPs, taking care of our all needs before our seaplane transfer to the resort on Fesdhoo Island.

Every day we spent at the W Maldives just made our experience that much more unforgettable; whether it was the dining, learning about Maldivian culture and the W Maldives from Chunky Mathew (our W Insider), doing activities like snorkeling or riding the Sea Bob, or just relaxing in our over-water retreat. Everyone that worked there were so friendly, accommodating and just genuinely eager to make sure our stay was as enjoyable as our possible.

I also have to give a massive shout-out to all the guys who took time out of their very busy schedules to fit in a game of volleyball with me - Raadhif, Ajey, Ramesh, Raaif, and Faaig from the Loss Prevention team, Iyaan from Finance, Ali from watersports, Kadek from F&B, and Mark from Energy. Thanks for the fun times, gents!

If you are looking for an amazing beach adventure look no further than the W Maldives. From the moment of landing in the sea plane to the snorkeling and seeing amazing fish species to the amazing dining options, amazing room accommodations to the very caring staff; this is the perfect vacation location. I say book it as soon as possible. We are glad we did!

Property is not what it used to be.

Be careful if you book more than 2 people. Even though the rate includes Breakfast on Expedia when you book 3 people or more, they charge you $100 a day for each person over 2 even if included in the rate.

Lots of language barriers even when English is being used.

Breakfast quality and selection is not what it was in 2020. Lots of fresh juices, fruit, meats and breads were not available. Raw/Cold Bacon that was not Ham.

Stale cereal that was not changed until it was mentioned again the next day. Accompanied by warm milk.

The BBQ at night option is amazing. Spices and utensils missing.

Stay away. This is not the W it once was.

Unforgettable Honeymoon

As many have said the staff is one of a kind and truly makes your vacation. House reef was amazing. Resort was very accommodating of all our needs and wishes. Would absolutely stay here again. Only thing to note is to be careful of what is included and what is not with certain food and boarding options as they can be confusing or not direct.

Beautiful W. Great Views Mellow Vibes

Great property well kept for the most part even though its a bit old. Very clean and the cleaning team does a good job of keeping the inside of the rooms clean.

Fantastic food in all of the 3 restauraunts. Friendly and polite staff. Very mellow vibes. F&B manager is lovely, its not often that you get the f&b manager taking your order at lunch and recommending things to do.

Lovely scenery , nice house reef and the spa was great. Not much to do other than laze around and snorkel which is great if you want to detach.

If youre planning on doing activities plan them before you come and budget accordingly because its a hefty price tag for anything you want to do. Water sports although available are overpriced in my opinion, youre probably better off doing that in another destination where u can enjoy it without it breaking the bank.

The whats app chat service where u can ask for anything from room service to booking the spa is fantastic ans something ill miss on my next holiday.

All in all had a great trip. Would recommend it for a short trip and head somewhere else to enjoy water activities.

The overwater villa we stayed in was really nice. The view from the room is stunning. Water is very clear and the marine life was very diversed. We enjoyed snorkelling around the island. The house reefs were in good condition with countless species of fishes. We were lucky enough to see a shark of around 1.5m long and a very big sea turtle. The experience was very memorable for us.
The setting of all facilities was nicely designed. The beauty of nature was embraced and celebrated by the architecture. The staff was all very friendly, helpful and conscience of your needs. The only downside to us is the limited choice of food and the high price compared to the quality. Other than that everything is perfect.
One side note: we were disappointed by the behaviours some of the guests. They stepped on the coral reefs outside our deck for half an hour. Not only did their act damage the reefs, our privacy was also infringed. We also saw garbage like cans and bottles (believed to be from some of the villa) floating on the ocean. It was sad to see these irresponsible acts that destroyed the paradise!

This resort and the people working there are amazing. I could ask for the moon at 2am and they would’ve found a way to get it to me. The people, the food the service is out of this world. You get what you pay for, this place is pricy but you will get all your money’s worth.

Wow. My wife and i travel alot... but this was special one. We take room 228 with pvt pool and view to the ocean. It was perfect vacation. The crew was amazing, ALL of them was super nice and kind... I don’t remember all the names but sanji from the pool was great! The breakfast was great too, and chef faruk was so kind with a pvt service! In the gym was a great trainer, the Russian dj was superrr good!!! The location and the people makes it on ot the best. ALL my friends see the pics and crazyy to go there too! My wife was super happy.... (happy wife happy life!) I give W 10 from 10. Perfect.

I just came back from W Maldives this morning with my sister. it was a girls getaway of 3 nights in Ocean Oasis and we were totally feeling disappointed on W on their poor service and arrangements. We won't come back again and only would recommend others to try other hotels like Four Seasons that always provides top- notch service.

Poor Seaplane arrangement:
We got night flights and we had to stayed at Male for 1 night. We have been emailing W our flights details 2 weeks ahead and try to have them arrange early check in for us and notify us our seaplane schedule. However, W retreat only told us they wouldn't know the seaplane schedule till 1day before our check- in day. We sent another email right before we got on the plane to ask them to notify our seaplane departure time to the hotel we staying at Male, and they didn't. When we check in at Hulhule Island Hotel, the hotel staff there helped us to check with W retreat by a call and finally know our early morning seaplane departure time.

Upon arrival:
when we arrived W around 9 nish, there was a nice Korean lady showing us around. we won't remember staff's name since they don't have name tag on. We decided to try Away Spa, it was nice but not cheap just like everything else in this hotel, $522 for two. However, the spa has poor privacy since they only have open shower on the deck and there were two persons snorkeling in front of our spa villa. Enjoyed best 6 days of my life in this resort, really impressive for the moment of arrival with my wife.
Staff welcoming, friendly, and informative. Room and facilities all clean and well organized. SPA had very good hands !
Restaurants and bars having good variety menus and delicious items.. plus u can make wish for whatever u want if not in the menu.

we liked relaxing here and there, but the daily activities were very attractive, so we do at least 2 a day and never get enough :D

Good service and fast response upon request. Care about the guest feeling and the try to do the best they could. Very few kinds of coral and fish, not sure whether it is a kind of geographical problem. The food is expensive and the seafood was not fresh enough.

Nice Hotel. Service is hit and miss

Nice modern hotel. Most of the staffs are good but a few of them need more training for sure.
The seafood buffet at Fire is good, but not so much variety. One of the cook go out his way to cook us a plate of scallops that make us feel very special. Waiters at the Fish is not so attentive at all. Some of the buggies drivers are driving a bit too fast. No water or cold towel is served to you at the pool side, but you still can get it from the booth close by. Overall, the hotel is 5 star, service is about 4 star.

I would like to note that we tried the accomodation in BEACH OASIS I OCEAN OASIS LAGOON VIEW as well. Of course if you want to entirely feel the magic of the Maldives you must stay in the house into the sea. The beautiful fish are in your feet and the diving - just a step from the veranda to the water! Visiting the restaurants and the lobby isn't a problem because everything is fully organized, fast and pleasant.

What I dreamed for

We travelled to the Maldives fo the first time and I have read everything the previous guests had written before choosing the hotel. It seemed increadible to me that since approaching the airport lounge your guests felt like VIP not only because we've been to far more beautiful and luxury places like Mauritius, Cape Town, Europe, etc. The comments were great and I chose to celebrate my Birthday there.
This is a place that has nothingin common with any other place in the whole world. The feeling from the very first moment when you step in the island is like you are embrased by an endless beauty and luxury.
The team is higlhy trained and organized, checking in and checking out do not take any time, the personnel really has guests' needs on their mind. The cleaning of the bungalows is permanent and of great quality, always conforming the presense of the guests.
The cuisine in my opinion can meet the expectations of the most demanding customers - starting from the reach breakfast and reaching to the hgh level of the FISH RESTAURANT. For those who would like to take a rest from the sea delicacies I would reccomend FIRE - the meat there is coocked wonderfull, very delicious.

Every staff made you feel special. They were dedicated in their work and did everything to make the stay very comfortable. The sore thumb though was the yoga instructor. Avoid taking yoga classes. Unless the resort replaces this person.

Paradise on earth, but get ready to pay for it

For our honeymoon, my husband and I spent 5 days at the W. It was paradise on earth; the beaches were pristine, the water activities were amazing, and the food was really incredible. The W really comes through with the customer service; one night my husband and I came home to find housekeeping had arranged rose petals in a heart shape on our bed and lit candles in our bathroom. We also received a free welcome bottle of champagne upon checking in, a nice perk for honeymooners.

I know this is probably unavoidable to an extent since this is an island in the middle of the Indian ocean, but the biggest drawbacks were the prices. Everything is imported, and you definitely pay for the plane ticket your meal rode in on. For example, a bottle of Finlandia vodka that would normally cost $15 in the US costs $100. Since you are prohibited from bringing alcohol into the Maldives, that duty free liquor you brought with you will get trashed at the airport. Every meal cost a minimum of $100, and really nice dinners at Fish can easily cost $300. One couple we met splurged for the 4 course dinner at Coral and they spent $700! You've really got to pay to play here; a 60 minute scuba dive costs $180/pp. The upside is that you can use the resorts water equipment for free.

Overall it was a great honeymoon, but a week in the ocean oasis villa, plus food and transportation from Dubai ended up costing us about $10K. This resort isn't for the frugal, but if you've got it, its worth spending here.

We stayed for a day in the water villa and was amazed by the property instantly.
Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful \"except\" for a few that have got really bad attitude.We really hope W could do more with training of the staff as it carries the
Legendary Starwood name.
Other than that everything is perfect, perfect retreat to anyone.

What an amazing hotel! I never write hotel reviews but was so impressed by the hotel, the room (wow), the bed (amazing), the location (paradise) and especially the hotel team who couldn't do enough to help with everything...I've never eaten so many free ice creams! Definitely a 10/10 experience - pure paradise!!!

Very good hotel in a paradise but food not so good

The hotel itself is a clearly WOW. It' s on its own island which is a real paradise for divers, snorkelers and swimmers.
Only the hotel restaurants are not so good at all. The best restaurant is clearly FIRE, the other two are just mediocre while FISH is clearly not recommendable at all. The waiters there are not attentive and don't execute the orders as given and the food was also not worth the price and not well. Here they need clear improvement.

Tivemos uma excelente estadia no hotel! Absolutamente todos os funcionários foram extremamente cordiais e solícitos. Estávamos chegando de uma experiência de péssimo atendimento no fairmont Maldivas, mas o W compensou! Atendimento realmente de 5 estrelas
A ilha é maravilhosa! House Reef espetacular com dezenas de peixes e corais. Vimos tubarões e tartarugas fazendo snorkel ao redor da ilha! Foi uma experiência incrível.
O quarto é ótimo também. Bonito, confortável, espaçoso.
Apenas pequenos detalhes que poderiam ser ajustados é que achamos que a piscina do quarto poderia ter algum aquecimento e o revestimento da piscina era muito áspero, dificultando ficar sentado na parte da hidromassagem. A cama era um pouco dura também. Mas nada que tenha atrapalhado a estadia.
Poderiam ser colocadas mais cadeiras e guarda-sóis na área da praia, vários dias gostaríamos de ficar na praia mas não tinha onde sentar.
A área da piscina central é ótima! Com bar molhado, gazebos muito agradaveis, pena que não tem vista para o mar devido à vegetação.
A comida era excelente. Várias opções e saborosas.
Com certeza voltaríamos a nos hospedar no W. Adoramos!
Se puder, faça o passeio para a ilha privativa que fica na frente do hotel, é sensacional!
