The hotel is under renovation. Reception is apparently made in one of the hotel rooms. Workers are working even at 11 PM disturbing the guests and hotel staff is not able to stop them even after repeated requests. I had to personally go and make them to stop the work. This was my first stay here and I would not like to return. As a courtesy, hotel must declare about renovation work online so the guests are aware what they can expect.

1 night stay, first time at this hotel and certainly the last time.

Several issues
-room had strong smell of urine throughout the stay inspite of the diffuser in the shower/toilet area
- airconditioner didnt work and not sorted inspite of fault being reported (we are talking about Chennai where nights are usually hot and humid)
-booked taxi for airport drop at time of check in for early hours of the morning for 4 passengers. Reiterated to lobby manager about the typenof seat needed for seating 3 passengers in back seat. Hotel provides taxi for 3 passengers (front passenger seat and 2 rear individual bucket seats) asking us to \"adjust\" !!!
We had to get our 10 year old sit on our lap for the ride to the airport to get there on time as there are no other taxi options available at short notice...
- food in restaurant (buffet) mind blowingly hot. Very poor quality cocktails

Overall, it was certainly not worth the 30000 Indian rupees paid for a 10 hour pit stop at this hotel.
Will certainly be avoiding this hotel in future

When I pay more than 8000/- the minimum I expect is good air-conditioning, cleanliness, and n noise. The AC in my was thundering for whole 3 days I stayed. Towels are horrible with stains everywhere. Actually I want to give a 1, but the cafe and the service rendered has pushed the rating to a 1.5. I never suggest this to any of my friends.

Property is strategically located and well connected. Problem is that the property is very old and badly needs renovation. Bathrooms are in very bad conditions and Air-conditioning makes lot of noise. Restaurant food is good.

Receiption staffs are not aware of how to work. Still cannot understand why they are asking for AADHAAR card then asking for Passport again asking for AADHAAR card.

Interior are mainly covered by interior-film, meanwhile they have renovated with the cheapest way.

They given me room where ac was making big noise and I noticed dust coming out. The response from front desk was poor, they send a person to clean when I was in the room. Then they changed the room as more dust was noticed. The dinner and breakfast is served with minimum options and same menu every day. I believe it is over rated ....

The check in experience was bad. Even though i had booked well in advance, i was told there was not booking on my name. I showed them the proof of booking. Even that didnt help. Finally they agreed.

The service at the hotel and the information provided with respect to the food at the hotel was wrong.

Traffic noise at front of hotel seemed appreciable louder than back.

I stayed in room 510 in which the bathtub probably had a leakage or maybe the drainage line could not handle the volume of water. The result was that there was water on the bathroom floor as well as in the room when I came out. Clearly housekeeping needs to do a better pre-check while alloting rooms to the guests.

Overall, the stay was good. There were two issues I had. One was that I needed a power adapter. I called ahead to try and have one put aside but was assured it would be ok. When I got to the hotel, I was told the adapter was being used by another guest. Because I had lost my portable charger, I was not able to charge my phone which had my flight information on it.

The other issue I had was the shower curtain was very short and water got all over the bathroom floor when I took a shower.

I stayed two nights at lemon tree. The room was comfortable, well furnished and cosy. The most impressive aspect of the hotel is the attitude of their staff in the restaurant. They were quite friendly, serving with a smile. They had a concept called silent Saturday, as a tribute to deaf-mute people. The displays on the walls of restaurant and lobby were interesting.

While we appreciate the staff & service, the bathroom taps, dustbins, cleaning of WC, ventilation in the room (windows are permanently closed) need your attention. Please check and make it right. We really had to adjust.

Overnight stay for airport connection

Good hotel and room. Not too far from the airport - about 15 mins. Helpful staff, restaurant maybe overpriced but not bad. Bed was comfortable and clean. Free WiFi wasn't really good. Overall quite satisfied.

This is actually a 3 star hotel, and in India there are 7 stars, and so a four star rating in Expedia is very misleading. The hotel is not very clean, but for a 2-3 star hotel it is ok if that is what you are expecting, the prices were way too high for that level of quality. I moved to the Hilton, and was very satisfied.

Be weary of choosing this hotel unless...

I was made to wait in the hotel lobby after a 6 hr drive, just because the hotel desk never got an email from Expedia on my reservation - which is fine. But they rudely refused to entertain my request to sync up with Expedia in confirming my reservation. Finally Expedia stepped in to help me after a phone call. This was further followed by lack of room availability which took more time to sort out. Eventually it was a good 1+ hour grueling wait in the Lobby before I got the keys to my room ! Will never return here.

A Welcoming Hotel

Lemon Tree Hotel, with more than adequate blend of friendly staff, clean rooms, wide and tasty choices of restaurant dishes, amenities, and both a business center and exercise room was the perfect place for our group of six to stay while in Chennai for almost a week. The price was reasonable for the balance in offerings the hotel provided.

As of October 1, we were told that Lemon Tree will provide free wifi throughout the hotel for its guests for the duration of their stay. For our group of 6 business travelers, Lemon Tree offered us comfortable, functional, and well priced lodging. We intend to stay at the Lemon Tree when we return in a few months.
