This place was amazing. I had a fantastic ocean view. I visited mother's day week and the ocean was clean turquoise waters. The staff Juliana and my cook friend Feliciana were so friendly and helpful. My favorite bartender Damian was one of the best. He was very professional and lots of fun. I had a butler named Jorge that helped me and the family in everything we needed. Overall experience it was amazing amd I will come to this beautiful place. I recommend it 1000/1000

We had a swim out room which we enjoyed, this was the best part of our week long stay. Room was clean. Wait staff terriable, drinks are garbage, my husband recived food poisoning. They were doing repairs so we got to listen to jack hammering all day everyday. Two of the resturants where closed down. Beach is full of seagrass. Resort us very boring. Best part is at check in they are trying to sell you a time share. We went to the concierge for excursions and both were not as he described at all, waste of money.

The hotel had three of its 5 restaurants that were closed for renovation. This was not mentioned when I made the booking or even at check in. The hotel map listed the restaurants so we were surprised to find them closed. The rest of the hotel was ok. In our room the bathroom did not have an exhaust and the faucet design was bad and water spilled out into the floor.

Overall we had a great time, I would say the lack of availability at the restaurants was very disappointing leading us stuck to eat at buffet many times where we did not want to. Buffet was difficult to find good food that would satisfy hunger. Lots of carbs not enough protein options. Ended up eating salad most of our stay. When we did get a chance to eat at the Italian restaurant food was phenomenal. To make reservations for any restaraunt you had to wait in a line in the lobby for three hours only to be told there are only 20 available spots in total so you wait for no reason and waste your day. All I’m saying is for the price, the food makes sense. Overall the views and location was perfect room was nice and comfy bed.

The employees were great but the food was not even mediocre. Two restaurants are closed and we were forced to eat Buffett over and over. Food left a lot to be desired. If you like food this is not the place. Resort itself seemed in decent condition. Needs a lot of work in some areas. Wasn’t horrible but I will not be going back.

The pool was nice its small but fine, the adults only pool is very small and boring. The food is not terrible but it becomes very repetitive, boring and bland after day 2 theres the buffet and italian place so not a whole lot of selection. Another complaint would be there was construction happening starting as early as 8am which if we were notified would be fine but nobody mentioned anything, its the loudest drilling noises happening and there was no being aware of what was happening or any inconvince token. The staff most were nice guys on the rooftop bar thought we couldn't understand them so when we ordered shots they called us putas and when confronted he changed his story and proceeded to leave the bar. The staff were not accommodating at all, alot had issues with attitude which is so different than hotel ive stayed at. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone as there's better places to stay at with a much lower price tag. Save your money and book somewhere else where you can actually enjoy yourself and not be stuck in this place. Normally i can make the best out of a stay that doesnt meet your expectations but this one was so terrible i had to write a review.

We had an amazing vacation. We loved everything about this resort, even though it’s under renovations ! We had an ocean front plunge pool room and it was amazing! Both pools had great views of the ocean and the main pool always had music and activities.
Food options seemed limited but everything we ate was delicious. The Veranda Buffet was always well stocked and our servers Gregorio and Rolfi were just great!
The rooftop bar was a great place to spend the eavening, our sever Damien was so attentive and friendly.
It’s definitely not a “party” resort but we always found plenty to do! We can’t wait to return!

The staff was amazing. Always very helpful and pleasant. While the food was just average the views and the service made up for it. Hector at the main pool bar was fantastic. The funtastic crew kept the music and activities going all day. Our butler yajahira was just the best.

Room was beautiful. The bed however was uncomfortable. We had the grand Master Villa with plunge pool. The plunge pools need more attention to cleaning.

Our stay was from April 20 to May 1 - the weather was perfect and the hotel's beach was well maintained.

The best part of our stay would have to be because of the staff - from housekeeping to front desk, maintenance to bartenders and most certainly the hostess and wait staff in the buffet, Italian restaurant and the coffee/gelato bar. This hotel should know what they have in their gracious, well trained staff!

What would have made our stay more enjoyable was if all of the restaurants were open. During our stay the Mexican, Asian and Seafood restaurants were closed and under construction. Additionally, the Cassis lobby bar was also closed. We were looking forward to our first AI where we didn't need to make reservations.

The quality of the food and drinks were above average most days so no complaints there.

We spent most of our days at the Adults Only pool and the service poolside and at the bar were top notch.

We had a great room on the fourth floor and the room was well-appointed and was very quiet and the views from the rooms can't be beat.

Overall we had a great, relaxing stay and would recommend this resort.

The ac in our villa got not cooler than 28 Celsius and it took the staff two days to move us to another room. We had a butler that was no help at all about getting the room changed until the second day of complaining. After changing our room to not what we paid for they failed to offer any kind of refund for the price difference in the rooms. We paid for a ocean side villa and got put in a king tower room.

Resort under construction which can be heard from rooms and beach all day 7 am - 6 pm. Environmental fee was $5 per room as per staff when we called before arriving, ended up being $28 per room at check in. Staff were not clear about room bracelets with a small plastic room key attached (bad quality ribbons that kept ripping and needing replacement). After 3 replacements of the bracelents we removed them and just used the key as we would a normal hotel. During checkout staff said they will be charging as we didnt have the ripped ribbon bracelets (which we werent told to keep) we returned the keys and had to argue with the manager almost missing our scheduled airport transport. The all inclusive resort had 3/5 restaurants open, 1 being a steak house you had to pay extra for... The pull out couches in 2 of the livingrooms were broken and unusable, made entirely of springs. Things were falling apart in our rooms like the tap water faucet, AC barely worked in our 3 rooms, showers were semi warm and weak pressure. The lifeguards kept asking us to not swim mulitple times a day as the waves were strong but we were just along the shore and a hit further in so the strong waves wouldnt hit, the resorts on either side had full beaches and people swimming at all hours. Staff do not communicate with each other and told us different things constantly. Confusing and disappointed experience.

The hotel is very nice. Jessica was amazing!!! The only downside is the food. Not sure why there are so many people saying the food is great. All I can say is the cereal and desserts were good. Other than that, well, we had better food at the airport. But that doesn't mean we won't be back. We know what to expect for food at an all inclusive hotel. This wasn't the worst, but pretty close. Too bad because the place is amazing! And did I mention that Jessica was fantastic? Went above and beyond! When my wife managed to get sunburned the very first day she gave us some aloe straight from a plant I believe, and it worked wonders. 20 out of 10 stars for her :)

Unfortunately for me, the hotel is currently under construction or renovation. The room right next to mine was being worked on, and I could hear all the noise from the machinery and feel the dust right inside my own room. I went to the front desk to ask when they would finish working on that room—hoping they might move me to another one—and they told me they had finished the exterior work and the following day, they would only be working inside the room. This turned out to be a LÍE. The next day, they were stripping paint from the walls and pouring cement; all that debris and dust ended up falling onto my side of the pool area and onto my balcony. I wasn't able to sit outside at all during those days because of the ongoing work. The logic is this: if you are going to be working in a room, do not house a guest right next to the construction site. There were other empty rooms available—why didn't you move me to ensure the guest's comfort and privacy.

Under construction the entire stay. That means HEAVY DRILLING AND HAMMERING from 8am to beyond 6pm EVERY DAY. Awful guest experience, all staff/mgmt claimed ignorance for every point raised (just plain dishonesty and deflection so not to have to remedy). Communication was abysmal, like telling us at check-in that the hotel wasn’t under construction, that these were “hotel improvements”. On our last night, had no water (again not communicated and when called it was like yeah no big deal it should be fixed soon), so they moved us to a different room, which was just ok (had cold to luke warm water). Extremely evident zero cares were given. RECEIVED A TON OF LIP SERVICE yet no real compensation. They did give us a late checkout, hoorah. Thousands down the drain. Hotel is old and outdated, hence the rush to renovate their “luxury” hotel. Met repeat guests who said they used to be great years back and can’t believe what it’s become. —Absolutely awful.

We had a very beautiful view from the Villa that we stayed in. Staff were very helpful and friendly. They made our stay extra special. The gounds are very clean and beautiful. The pools were always clean as well. Renovations were taking place while we were there so 2 of the 3 restaurants were closed. They did their best to make up for it by offering seafood for lunch and italian for dinner at the one open restaurant. The buffet had good salad, fruits and sushi but i felt the other options could have been better. The resaurant food was good quality and enjoyable. Overall i would have been much happier if the hotel had communicated about the renovations prior to us going there. The number and type of restaurants played a big part in my selection of hotels. But it did not hamper my vacation. I tried to make the best of it regardless. Our butler Yajahira was excellent. Servers at all the restaurants such as Felipe at Andiamo and Alicia at the Verandah were fantastic every time. All servers and bartenders, including at the juice bar were so nice. Overall, i loved my stay.

The property has a beautiful layout with a separate adult pool. The rooms are well kept and maintained. It’s located close to amenities and nightlife.

This resort has some constriction going on this time for renovations, therefore, only limited to two restaurants and a snack bar rather than the 4 restaurants.

Overall this resort is fabulous! I would give it about a 4.8. The small deduction is primarily due to the fact that there was construction going on towards the end of our trip and, because of it, 1 of the bars and 2 of the restaurants were out of commission (which is problematic when there are less than a handful of both). I would have minded less if I’d been told in advance of the plans for the construction at booking; the fact that I wasn’t informed of anything was more frustrating than anything. (The construction noise would have been obnoxious if we’d been closer to the pools, but thankfully we were in a villa and were thus far enough away that it wasn’t bothersome).
Otherwise everything else was 5/5! The room, the food, the beach, the pools, the spa - ALL of it was incredible.
I would go back in a heartbeat and would recommend this place to absolutely anyone.

We first want to recognize Salvador for his outstanding service at the adult pool and beach. He even brought me a variety of drinks when I didn't know what I wanted. He is so kind and helpful. And thank you to Damien at the rooftop bar for making great drinks and putting up with us!
Pros:
The location is excellent, with a stunning, long stretch of beach. We were able to swim in the ocean every day we wanted. There was never an issue finding chairs, though the resort wasn’t very busy during our stay. The grounds are beautiful—lush, green, and very well maintained—with iguanas everywhere, which added to the tropical feel.
I was most concerned about the food due to mixed reviews, but it ended up being great. We had fantastic meals at both the Mexican and Italian restaurants—some of the best we’ve had at an all-inclusive. The staff was attentive, and the entertainment was fun. We especially enjoyed karaoke, though we wished there had been more variety in the music. The overall vibe of the resort is laid-back, but there

We enjoyed our stay. The oceanfront villa was absolutely incredible. That said, the food could definitely be improved.The three-star rating is mainly due to our experience with the staff. We felt somewhat uncomfortable and pressured to attend their membership presentation. It was presented as a 90-minute session, but it ended up taking closer to two hours. If it’s offered to you, I’d recommend politely declining from the start.

There are not too many activities available but this is a great place to spend a holiday if you don’t want to party. The food was not great. Most of the time it was just too salty. There were a few that made it extra special: Jessica (supervisor at Buffet), Yuliana (host at buffet), Hector (bell hop), Julio (excusion expert), Salvador (pool server), Jesus (server). They all made sure we had everything we needed while we were on the resort and were always smiling!
Definitely will be recommending to our Family and friends!

We stayed at the hotel for 8 days and in general it was a good stay.

Beach is fantastic.

Food was okay, it wasn't mind blowing by any stretch but did the job. The special restaurant food was more creative, but hit and miss at times. We frequented the Mexican restaurant for lunch and dinner, they had some good dishes there and for dinner it tended to be less busy than Italian or Asian. Here I gotta mention that the hotel has a very strange system for special restaurants that I have not seen anywhere before, and it's just bad. If you are not a VIP club guest, you have to wait in line to get in, then they tell you come back in an hour, then you wait some more in line, while people with VIP can make reservations. It took us 2 hours to get into Italian, that was super frustrating and bunch of guests were getting hangry, to which the staff replied go to the buffet. I don't see a reason why the hotel can't make it a booking system and accomodate everyone. There is absolutely no reason in this disorganization and especially on people's vacations.

Rooms were good, nothing special, but comfortable.

Entertainment was decent at night on several occasions but again one of those things that just kills time but nothing mind blowing. Daytime activities are meh, very unexciting.

All in all it was a decent value for money stay but nothing luxurious by any means.

We had an absolutely amazing family vacation at the Grand Park Royal. The view from our room was stunning, the beach was breathtaking , plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas. My kids had the best time with the entertainment team playing beach volleyball games around the pool , activities at night - thank you to Dario, Carlos, Fernanda, and Joshua for making it memorable for us! The pool is beautiful, the food is great especially the fish restaurant at lunch, the Mexican at night, and the Asian restaurant we’re all great! The buffet is decent at night but the breakfast buffet was wonderful especially the fresh omelets every morning. The snack area around the pool was a hit for my kids with hamburgers hotdogs and fries all day. . All the staff throughout the entire resort were always so kind and friendly very attentive and always smiling .
I loved that there was just the right amount of entertainment during the day without it being too crazy or loud so that it still felt very relaxing .

It was an amazing resort. We loved the fact it was a calmer environment, not as crazy or loud as other resorts even though we were traveling during spring break time. The food was delicious, the pools were clean and the staff were exceptionally helpful and kind. I highly recommend and will hopefully be coming back myself in the future!

Thee staff was friendly and helpful. Approaching my inquiries with smiles, accommodations and professionalism.
One of the young men , in particular, I think his name was Marcelino, was amazing. I was brought to the office, next to the showroom with a minor problem and watched how well he diffused a situation that presented with 2 adults demanding the use of a wheelchair for their adult son.
I appreciated the use of water bottles and easy availability for refilling, of drinking water at the elevators! I’m sure this eliminated a lot of waste.
Both pools were lovely, and had bars but it was nice to have a quiet , adults only pool bar for a more low key environment. I had a very enjoyable stay.

Whatever you do, do not agree to the presentation about their program for members. They initially said it would be about an hour to an hour and a half long. It ended up being a little over three and a half hours! They drag it out even after saying no we did not want to join. After the final “no” you get the cold shoulder iThen we were told we would have our bali bed on the beach front reserved for us and come the day of there was no more available. Terrible communication and obviously their reservation policy needs work.

The pool location was great and everything is well laid out and beautiful! The seafood was great here. The Grand Park Royal provides excellent value. It is a very balanced resort. In all categories it excels. Not too big, not too busy, the staff gets to know you, etc. The entertainment manager, Dario, is exceptional. I really would book it again if a knew Dario was still there!

We had a clean room, and a wonderful view. But the first day we were there all of the power outlets stopped working inside of the bedroom (we had a suit). I told the staff multiple times and nobody ever came to fix the problem. Our airport shuttle was great, and food was decent.

The view from the room was amazing. The room was comfortable and always cool. The food was awesome in every restaurant with amazing and attentive staff. The hotel staff was very welcoming and helpful. The pools and pool bars were great. The overall atmosphere was fun with a variety of activities and/or relaxing throughout the day. I expected the party atmosphere to continue late into the night, but found the evenings were always pleasantly peaceful.

This is not a 5 star luxury resort. The food quality is bad and it was served cold. Drink quality were bad too. No drink menus available either. Things like even getting yourself a cup of coffee and food at the pool is restricted. The waking paths through the resort area and around some pools was extremely rough that you cannot walk barefoot. On day 2 my cover up was stolen off my beach chair when we were in the ocean. This place is definitely not worth the money, is not a luxury resort and very disappointing. We will not be coming back ever again.

Our stay started off rocky but it was not the hotel’s fault, there were college kids staying above us and probably had too much to drink that one of the kids ran into the sliding door and woke us up at 3am terrified of noise made by glass shattering. I hope he’s ok. We stayed in a Jr suite villa with plunge pool. The room category came with a butler. Our butler was really nice and made our beach bed reservations and restaurant reservations, it was an amazing experience. The food wasn’t super great but not terrible. I would really have liked if they had more Mexican food as snacks instead of hot dogs and hamburgers. At a previous hotel we have stayed they had tacos and quesadillas and guacamole for snacks… just a suggestion. The beach was beautiful and the pools were nice. The staff was really friendly and helpful and I enjoyed my conversations with them. I love Cancún and can’t wait to go back.

Was there early March for 1 week. With wife and two teens. We enjoyed the stay. The beach is beautiful. The “fantastic” crew really does a good job at keeping people engaged and the entertainment during the day positive. The food was good as well. Some restaurants definately better then others and the buffet was decent. Overall the property was clean and staff was good. Seemed like sometimes the bar staff at the pool was a bit overwhelmed but still did their best.

This is the cleanest resort or hotel I have ever stayed at. Our room, restaurants, common spaces, washrooms, pools, and event spaces were all clean and in excellent repair. The staff is amazing, very attentive and knowledgable. The food was delicious in every restaurant, changed often.

Gluten free - 2 of my family members have Celiac disease and after a small hiccup on day 1 it was a very seamless dining experience. Suggest identifying your dietary restrictions to the resort before you travel, then speak with a Concierge and each restaurant Supervisor on arrival. Each morning, we identified at which restaurant we eat lunch and dinner so they could be prepared and it worked well. Not a single gluten exposure, very very grateful.

Accessibility - If you are a wheelchair or rollator/walker user, you might have difficulty at this resort. The floors in the buildings are shiny tile, slippery when wet, but the outdoor walkways are all large, flat rocks with eneven surfaces cemented together creating a cobblestone effect. It is difficult to pull suitcases over the stone so the bell hops drive you on golf carts. Yes, the staff will happily drive you but that impacts independence. I have joint replacements and needed to use hiking poles, as many of the uneven walkways are long ramps. Also, the shortest number of stairs to reach the beach is 4+ 4 with a landing in between and no handrail. The stairs with 8+ stairs have rope handrails.

The resort itself, and the ambience of the resort is beautiful however, they only have three dining options for restaurants and the buffet never changes it the same every day very low quality for buffet food and not the best quality of food in general. I would recommend to stay here but to go outside of the resort to eat if you want real good tasting food overall for the money it’s OK. I don’t recommend if you’re gonna be staying there long to stay there but if it’s a short trip, it should be fine. I’ve definitely stayed that nicer resorts with lots more food options.

The beach and pools were nice. The view from our room was nice. I enjoyed my massage. The food in the Italian Restaurant and Hibachi was good. The food in buffet was cold, wasn’t replenished enough, and seemed like the same things and not enough variety. The hostesses were friendly in the buffet. The staff when you first arrived and at front desk were only friendly at first because they are trying to sell you something. After that they didn’t really speak and not really friendly at all. The activities were fun and Joshua did a great job. I did have a butler Jessica assigned to me who set up reservations which was helpful. We stopped at concierge for more towels and coffee that they send would send up but never did. The phone didn’t work for room service after they answered my call then no answer. The rooms were very outdated. The floor in our room looked dirty. The bathroom shower area was very small and hard to maneuver around with the toilet so close. They really need to upgrade resort.

Over the years i have stayed at all different resorts. All have been great. My major complaint here was the food. Breakfast was fine. The lunch options not so much. If you went to the sit down restaurant your food was cold the same with the buffet and most dishes not edible. Dinner buffet was not good. The hobachi and the Italian restaurant were good but not great.
The lounge chair in our room was well worn and dirty. The room and other chairs always felt damp probably due to the condensation drippings from the air conditioning vent in the ceiling.
They tell you, you don't need reservations for the restaurants, but anyone with a reservation gets taken in first.
You need to get up early and put your towels on the beach chairs that you'd like. I don't think there's enough chairs to accommodate the amount of people that stay there.
Think of mentioning, they were closing for renovations. I wish we had known that when we booked our holiday.
