The adult pool had active construction going during day time. It was very noisy so we couldn’t stay at the pool.

I never write reviews but I feel I have to We stayed at the Grand Park Royal Hotel We had a beautiful ocean view After checking in we were met by a lady -didn’t get her name- she told us about not have an Italian nor seafood restaurant and if we want a steak we would have to pay at that particular restaurant The buffet had an Italian day and a seafood day I don’t like either but I managed to find something to eat Was very disappointed all that lady said is that she would talk to the supervisor We didn’t get a discount on our room Which I wasn’t looking for but they didn’t have two restaurants open the swim up bar was under construction. The lady didn’t give us any information about the daily activities but for some reason or another we found out on Monday about them having bingo every day then a show afterwards I feel we should have been notified of all the changes—-the hotel was super clean and the staff was amazing But I will not stay there anymore We left and we never received an apology from the supervisor nor was there any attempt to contact us.

We LOVED our stay at The Grand Royal Cancun. We were celebrating our son‘s 21st birthday and Father’s Day for my husband the hotel organized decorations in our room for a fee which we had agreed before we arrived. My son was thrilled and very surprised. They dropped off an off a complimentary cake dessert also for him. The hotel itself was beautiful with 3 pools (2 family & 1 adult only pool) we had 2 choices for restaurants at night (buffet or Andiamo Italian) which if you think 2 you might think it’s not enough but we found the selections and food quantity especially at the buffet plentiful especially if you were after snacking on pizza, burgers, hot dogs and nachos at the snack bar . Drinks were all different colors and plentiful lol . Entertainment was fun especially the bingo with nightly shows. There is also a cafe that has coffee, pastries and ice cream . We did entertain the ‘welcome meeting’ and sat in on the vacation club membership unfortunately it wasn’t a good time for us but I’m sure others will enjoy it and join. Make sure you shop at the gift store in the hotel the prices were great and the staff lovely don’t think you’ll get a better price at the airport on the way home because you won’t. I could not complete this review without mentioning the AMAZING staff they made the vacation for us they are some of the nicest friendliest people you will meet and don’t forget to tip them they deserve it. We are now looking to return we can not wait to go back .

It was a puddles of water on the floor when we checked into the room and every time it rained. The room was extremely hot the controls for the ac was set on one temp. The lobby at this hotel was small. They also did not have good choice of food and they limited use to drinks at a n all exclusive resort. This hotel also does not provide entertainment for their guest. We had a pretty big group , so we provided our own entertainment and made it fun for us. We ate outside of the resort and also had to buy drinks to bring back to the resort.

El hotel está en remodelacion y habia mucho ruido.Todos los dias batallaba con eso. Hice mi reservacion con mucho tiempo y nunca me mandaron un correo donde me informaran que el hotel había sido venido y lo estaba remodelando, por lo menos deberían hacerlo en etapas donde mantengan a los clientes alejados del ruido. Uno va para descansar y con ese ruido se estresante mas De los restaurant solo estaban abiertos dos y pasar 7 dias comiendo lo mismo es frustrarte.. e Creo que esta caro para la calidad del hotel.

They will try to hassle you to sign up to their scam “vacation club” but if you look it up on BBB site it’s a horrible thing to sign up to. They will try to do anything to get you to sign up. Just say you’re not interested in anything of the sort. The sliding door window was loose and there was strong winds which would shake the window and make horrible noise not letting you sleep.

Realmente me gustó que está muy limpio y muy bien ubicado restaurantes, villas si necesidad de recorrer distancias muy largas, no me gustó que en cuanto llegas haces tu checking te presionan al máximo para que vayas a sus tiempos compartidos, como molestan con eso, son muy acosadores por favor dejen de hacerlo uno va a pasar unos días de descanso no necesita estrés en la vacaciones y todavía se enojan si no agarras sus tiempos compartidos y sobre todo te prometen lo que no van a cumplir

El lugar es muy lindo y cómodo . El cuarto estaba muy limpio todo el tiempo gracias a la gente de limpieza . Todos los empleados muy amables y serviciales. El buffet particularmente a nosotros no nos gustó , siento que podrían mejorar en eso. El restaurante Italiano Andiamo fue el lugar que elegimos para desayunar, almorzar y cenar excelente la atención y la comida. La cafetería que estaba cerca del buffet muy buena también. We had an exceptional stay, and the level of service exceeded all our expectations.

A special thank you to the butlers, Oscar and Jesica, whose professionalism, kindness, and attention to every detail made our vacation truly unforgettable. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our stay was perfect.

The service in all the restaurants was outstanding. We would especially like to recognize Jesica, the Buffet Captain, who went far beyond her duties to make every dining experience special. Likewise, Chef David demonstrated remarkable dedication, talent, and hospitality that made each meal memorable.

We could say so much more about the incredible staff, especially the waitresses and team members at the beachside restaurant. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care made us feel welcomed and valued every day.

The front desk staff was very slow and not very helpful. They had the concierge explain the map of the hotel and this person focused on saying “You can’t wear sandals to the restaurants.” The problem was that most of the restaurants were closed for construction. I been here several times. Loved it the first few. This time, several of the restaurants were closed for remodeling. The SPA/Gym ladies would kick us out 1-2 hrs earlier than closing so they can clean up early and leave early. Gym and saunas are super nice and clean though.
This time it was less waiters for the crowd that was accumulating throughout the week. They were overwhelmed and couldn't tend to us the way they normally would. Not their fault. Just a staffing issue and management issue. The few restaurants remaining were simply overcrowded and overworked. One of their nice, full bars was closed and so there was only a handful of cocktails to order.

I think I may give them a try again. I will wait till they finish these changes and call ahead to see if all the amenities are available.

We have stayed at this resort before and absolutely loved it, which made this visit disappointing by comparison. There is currently a significant amount of construction taking place that we were unaware of prior to arrival. While the hotel attempted to work around it, the overall execution was not handled particularly well.

The biggest issue was the air conditioning in our room. It would not cool below 25°C, even overnight. Maintenance attended three separate times before we finally got the room down to approximately 22°C. While this may seem minor, for the price point of these rooms—and a resort positioning itself as Diamond-class—this falls below expectations.

The staff were the highlight of the stay. The servers, bartenders, and housekeeping staff consistently went above and beyond and truly elevated the experience through their professionalism and friendliness.

Unfortunately, the timeshare presentation was another negative. We were told it would last 1–1.5 hours, but it stretched to nearly 3 hours. The initial representative was pleasant, but the later sales staff became increasingly aggressive and dismissive once they realized we were not interested.

Overall, this is still a beautiful resort with good food and amenities, but at the moment the experience does not fully justify the premium pricing.

We had the most magical time! Our butler was truly a blessing. He was very helpful in making our reservations and reserving our Bali bed for us. He also left me a wonderful birthday surprise. We were so sad to leave.

The wait staff were kind, helpful, attentive, and all around wonderful servers.

My only complaint is that the water did not get hot in the shower.

The 1st thing we didn’t like was when we first arrived, we were tired and hungry from traveling. The hotel had workers try to sell us another stay. So we had to sit and hear their sales pitch. We just wanted to unpack and relax. So it was super annoying… The property had 4 restaurants according to the web site. Two of the restaurants were closed. The third restaurant was a steak place but it wasn’t included in the all inclusive you had to pay to eat there. So that only left the Italian restaurant open. So you could either eat there or the buffet. So not a lot of options. The food was really good at the Italian restaurant but if you wanted wine with dinner you had to pay for the whole bottle. We were just confused because we thought the resort was all inclusive.
They did have activities each day for the kids which was really nice.
The beach was right next to the resort which was very accessible.

I’m only able to go away once a year and I look forward to the food like most people probably do on vacation. It wasn’t the hotel‘s fault. It’s Expedia‘s fault because they should’ve told us before we booked it. I am writing a review and complaining to Expedia and expect a portion of my money back or I will never use them again. The hotel was amazing and did what they could to make up for it because we were so upset again it was not the resort that made the mistake or the false ad advertisement. It was Expedia.

If all you care about is a pretty beach and ocean views, then, stay here. But if you expect luxury, good food, quality drinks, helpful staff, or a relaxing atmosphere,don’t waste your money.The staff was barely helpful and never once helped with luggage. Plain rooms, the food was TERRIBLE, cheap atmosphere, watered down drinks with no premium liquor options and loud guests everywhere.Come to find out on our LAST day that this place is basically a timeshare resort for locals and they also sell day passes, which explained why it felt nothing like a luxury resort.We booked 7 days expecting a luxury all-inclusive experience with multiple restaurants, unlimited food/drinks, and great service. Nope. False advertising!!They only stock your room with 2 beers and 1 meal per day. With no exceptions. There’s basically one restaurant plus a buffet that made me sick — and apparently many others too. The food was so disgusting.We stayed in a swim-up room, but it’s directly by the main family pool, on one end and a hallway on the other end so forget peace and relaxation. We literally had to book excursions every single day just to enjoy our vacation.My boyfriend had to arrange my bday and proposal setup at another resort because this place offered nothing romantic. Oh, and if you want the steakhouse, you have to PAY extra., we ended up booking 2 nights at TRS Yucatán at the end of end of the trip, and the difference was day and night. We will NEVER stay at Grand Park Royal again. The Worst!

Only 2 restaurants were all inclusive. The third one requires paying extra. The others were under remodeling. No water bottles in the room. Had 2 refillable bottle you had to refill yourself at the water fountains outside which had bad tasting water. Food was decent and staff was mostly nice but sometimes not as nice. Check-in included 1.5 hours of back and forth between multiple desks and were asked if we liked to sit in on their membership pitch during the check in which was tiring. Pitch was supposed to be 90 minutes but ended up being in the meeting for 5 hours. Room we had was outdated but very clean and no room smell. Humidity was controlled very well in the room which is not the case for most resorts we stayed at. The views from the room were very beautiful. Sauna was closed almost 2 hours before closing time. Pools were closed at 8 which is pretty early. The only thing going for this resort is the location at the beach and proximity to the mall. Everything else lacks compared to other resorts within 30 minutes radius.

This was our second time here and we won't be back. It is not a BAD resort, but what is offered at Grand Park Royal isn't the value it once was. They don't have the taco stand anymore (replaced with a terrible burger and hot dog stand), the restaurants are adequate, but there are better values out there to be had, particularly for kids. We did not bother with the Kids Club as most of the activities were things our kids were not going to be interested in. The Cafe is one of the best parts about it, the foam party was surprisingly fun, and the spa (massages) was a great experience.

I recommend springing for a room with a butler - ours, Yajahira was the absolute best part of the resort for us (family of 4) and went out of her way to make us feel at home.

Overall, it was a good time for us coming from snow in Canada, but as I mentioned, we won't be coming back for a third time. There are better, more fun and amenity-filled options out there for our needs.

This is a nice resort on the beach, with decent food/drink options but the customer service could be better. They push you to attend their “vip membership”tours, but it is essentially a timeshare presentation that takes about 3 hrs, where you are badgered to purchase a plan. The hotel is currently under renovation so only 2 of their 6 restaurants are open, and there is noise during the day due to construction. Also, we paid for butler services, but were advised that our butler would be away and only after we spoke to management numerous times, the hotel decided to honour the services we paid for. Expedia’s “VIP perk” of a spa discount was not honoured.

Everything was great when we arrived and checked in. Once we where done we headed to the check in point to meet with our guide he gave us a rundown on everything and said we'd get coupons for any activities we'd want to do but we had to go do a \"special breakfast\". We agreed, until the next day when we arrived to the meet up point we went to breakfast at one of the restaurants with a person working at the hotel he had breakfast with us which we had agreed to but weren't aware of what it would all come to... he started with a story of his life getting information about us, knowing we where tricked into him wanting us to purchase a \"membership\" we let the talk about it and explain it we denied it from the first guy and then he told us to give us a second for him to bring his \"supervisor\", his supervisor came up to us and started by asking us how his worker treated us we gave or honest answer and then again his \"supervisor\" tried to push us into buying a 19,000 membership. We again denied the offer and he went as low as 3,000 with us denying again after that his attitude shifted to a rudeness towards us asking us if we couldn't afford it... (we are but we had already denied the offer as we where just there to spend family time) we told his that wasn't any of his concern and he got visibly angry and upset things didn't go his way. Just disgusted at this, the food is not so great either. Staff in general are helpful. It's an ok place but would not recommend.

This place was amazing. I had a fantastic ocean view. I visited mother's day week and the ocean was clean turquoise waters. The staff Juliana and my cook friend Feliciana were so friendly and helpful. My favorite bartender Damian was one of the best. He was very professional and lots of fun. I had a butler named Jorge that helped me and the family in everything we needed. Overall experience it was amazing amd I will come to this beautiful place. I recommend it 1000/1000

We had a swim out room which we enjoyed, this was the best part of our week long stay. Room was clean. Wait staff terriable, drinks are garbage, my husband recived food poisoning. They were doing repairs so we got to listen to jack hammering all day everyday. Two of the resturants where closed down. Beach is full of seagrass. Resort us very boring. Best part is at check in they are trying to sell you a time share. We went to the concierge for excursions and both were not as he described at all, waste of money.

The hotel map listed the restaurants so we were surprised to find them closed. The rest of the hotel was ok. Overall we had a great time, I would say the lack of availability at the restaurants was very disappointing leading us stuck to eat at buffet many times where we did not want to. Buffet was difficult to find good food that would satisfy hunger. Lots of carbs not enough protein options. Ended up eating salad most of our stay. When we did get a chance to eat at the Italian restaurant food was phenomenal. To make reservations for any restaraunt you had to wait in a line in the lobby for three hours only to be told there are only 20 available spots in total so you wait for no reason and waste your day. All I’m saying is for the price, the food makes sense. Overall the views and location was perfect room was nice and comfy bed.

The pool was nice its small but fine, the adults only pool is very small and boring. The food is not terrible but it becomes very repetitive, boring and bland after day 2 theres the buffet and italian place so not a whole lot of selection. Another complaint would be there was construction happening starting as early as 8am which if we were notified would be fine but nobody mentioned anything, its the loudest drilling noises happening and there was no being aware of what was happening or any inconvince token. The staff most were nice guys on the rooftop bar thought we couldn't understand them so when we ordered shots they called us putas and when confronted he changed his story and proceeded to leave the bar. The staff were not accommodating at all, alot had issues with attitude which is so different than hotel ive stayed at. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone as there's better places to stay at with a much lower price tag. Save your money and book somewhere else where you can actually enjoy yourself and not be stuck in this place. Normally i can make the best out of a stay that doesnt meet your expectations but this one was so terrible i had to write a review.

We had an amazing vacation. We loved everything about this resort, even though it’s under renovations ! We had an ocean front plunge pool room and it was amazing! Both pools had great views of the ocean and the main pool always had music and activities.
Food options seemed limited but everything we ate was delicious. The Veranda Buffet was always well stocked and our servers Gregorio and Rolfi were just great!
The rooftop bar was a great place to spend the eavening, our sever Damien was so attentive and friendly.
It’s definitely not a “party” resort but we always found plenty to do! We can’t wait to return!

Our stay was from April 20 to May 1 - the weather was perfect and the hotel's beach was well maintained.

The best part of our stay would have to be because of the staff - from housekeeping to front desk, maintenance to bartenders and most certainly the hostess and wait staff in the buffet, Italian restaurant and the coffee/gelato bar. This hotel should know what they have in their gracious, well trained staff!

What would have made our stay more enjoyable was if all of the restaurants were open. During our stay the Mexican, Asian and Seafood restaurants were closed and under construction. Additionally, the Cassis lobby bar was also closed. We were looking forward to our first AI where we didn't need to make reservations.

The quality of the food and drinks were above average most days so no complaints there.

We spent most of our days at the Adults Only pool and the service poolside and at the bar were top notch.

We had a great room on the fourth floor and the room was well-appointed and was very quiet and the views from the rooms can't be beat.

Overall we had a great, relaxing stay and would recommend this resort.

The ac in our villa got not cooler than 28 Celsius and it took the staff two days to move us to another room. We had a butler that was no help at all about getting the room changed until the second day of complaining. After changing our room to not what we paid for they failed to offer any kind of refund for the price difference in the rooms. We paid for a ocean side villa and got put in a king tower room.

Resort under construction which can be heard from rooms and beach all day 7 am - 6 pm. Environmental fee was $5 per room as per staff when we called before arriving, ended up being $28 per room at check in. Staff were not clear about room bracelets with a small plastic room key attached (bad quality ribbons that kept ripping and needing replacement). After 3 replacements of the bracelents we removed them and just used the key as we would a normal hotel. During checkout staff said they will be charging as we didnt have the ripped ribbon bracelets (which we werent told to keep) we returned the keys and had to argue with the manager almost missing our scheduled airport transport. The all inclusive resort had 3/5 restaurants open, 1 being a steak house you had to pay extra for... The pull out couches in 2 of the livingrooms were broken and unusable, made entirely of springs. Things were falling apart in our rooms like the tap water faucet, AC barely worked in our 3 rooms, showers were semi warm and weak pressure. The lifeguards kept asking us to not swim mulitple times a day as the waves were strong but we were just along the shore and a hit further in so the strong waves wouldnt hit, the resorts on either side had full beaches and people swimming at all hours. Staff do not communicate with each other and told us different things constantly. Confusing and disappointed experience.

The hotel is very nice. Jessica was amazing!!! The only downside is the food. Not sure why there are so many people saying the food is great. All I can say is the cereal and desserts were good. Other than that, well, we had better food at the airport. But that doesn't mean we won't be back. We know what to expect for food at an all inclusive hotel. This wasn't the worst, but pretty close. Too bad because the place is amazing! And did I mention that Jessica was fantastic? Went above and beyond! When my wife managed to get sunburned the very first day she gave us some aloe straight from a plant I believe, and it worked wonders. 20 out of 10 stars for her :)

Unfortunately for me, the hotel is currently under construction or renovation. The room right next to mine was being worked on, and I could hear all the noise from the machinery and feel the dust right inside my own room. I went to the front desk to ask when they would finish working on that room—hoping they might move me to another one—and they told me they had finished the exterior work and the following day, they would only be working inside the room. This turned out to be a LÍE. The next day, they were stripping paint from the walls and pouring cement; all that debris and dust ended up falling onto my side of the pool area and onto my balcony. I wasn't able to sit outside at all during those days because of the ongoing work. The logic is this: if you are going to be working in a room, do not house a guest right next to the construction site. There were other empty rooms available—why didn't you move me to ensure the guest's comfort and privacy.

Under construction the entire stay. That means HEAVY DRILLING AND HAMMERING from 8am to beyond 6pm EVERY DAY. Awful guest experience, all staff/mgmt claimed ignorance for every point raised (just plain dishonesty and deflection so not to have to remedy). Communication was abysmal, like telling us at check-in that the hotel wasn’t under construction, that these were “hotel improvements”. On our last night, had no water (again not communicated and when called it was like yeah no big deal it should be fixed soon), so they moved us to a different room, which was just ok (had cold to luke warm water). Extremely evident zero cares were given. RECEIVED A TON OF LIP SERVICE yet no real compensation. They did give us a late checkout, hoorah. Thousands down the drain. Hotel is old and outdated, hence the rush to renovate their “luxury” hotel. Met repeat guests who said they used to be great years back and can’t believe what it’s become. —Absolutely awful.

We had a very beautiful view from the Villa that we stayed in. Staff were very helpful and friendly. They made our stay extra special. The gounds are very clean and beautiful. The pools were always clean as well. Renovations were taking place while we were there so 2 of the 3 restaurants were closed. They did their best to make up for it by offering seafood for lunch and italian for dinner at the one open restaurant. The buffet had good salad, fruits and sushi but i felt the other options could have been better. The resaurant food was good quality and enjoyable. Overall i would have been much happier if the hotel had communicated about the renovations prior to us going there. The number and type of restaurants played a big part in my selection of hotels. But it did not hamper my vacation. I tried to make the best of it regardless. Our butler Yajahira was excellent. Servers at all the restaurants such as Felipe at Andiamo and Alicia at the Verandah were fantastic every time. All servers and bartenders, including at the juice bar were so nice. Overall, i loved my stay.

The property has a beautiful layout with a separate adult pool. The rooms are well kept and maintained. It’s located close to amenities and nightlife.

This resort has some constriction going on this time for renovations, therefore, only limited to two restaurants and a snack bar rather than the 4 restaurants.

The staff is friendly and accommodating.

Second time coming to this resort and 2 restaurants were closed along with one of the snack bars and the swimup bar was also shut down. It was open for 2 of the 9 days we were here. Was not as welcoming as the first time.

Overall this resort is fabulous! I would give it about a 4.8. The small deduction is primarily due to the fact that there was construction going on towards the end of our trip and, because of it, 1 of the bars and 2 of the restaurants were out of commission (which is problematic when there are less than a handful of both). I would have minded less if I’d been told in advance of the plans for the construction at booking; the fact that I wasn’t informed of anything was more frustrating than anything. (The construction noise would have been obnoxious if we’d been closer to the pools, but thankfully we were in a villa and were thus far enough away that it wasn’t bothersome).
Otherwise everything else was 5/5! The room, the food, the beach, the pools, the spa - ALL of it was incredible.
I would go back in a heartbeat and would recommend this place to absolutely anyone.

We first want to recognize Salvador for his outstanding service at the adult pool and beach. He even brought me a variety of drinks when I didn't know what I wanted. He is so kind and helpful. And thank you to Damien at the rooftop bar for making great drinks and putting up with us!
Pros:
The location is excellent, with a stunning, long stretch of beach. We were able to swim in the ocean every day we wanted. There was never an issue finding chairs, though the resort wasn’t very busy during our stay. The grounds are beautiful—lush, green, and very well maintained—with iguanas everywhere, which added to the tropical feel.
I was most concerned about the food due to mixed reviews, but it ended up being great. We had fantastic meals at both the Mexican and Italian restaurants—some of the best we’ve had at an all-inclusive. The staff was attentive, and the entertainment was fun. We booked an oceanfront room, on arrival we were told that room was not available. Staff tried to say they had upgraded us to a largerr room that was garden/partial oceanview. I declined and wanted the ocean front room i booked. They claimed it was not available.

We enjoyed our stay. The oceanfront villa was absolutely incredible. That said, the food could definitely be improved.The three-star rating is mainly due to our experience with the staff. We felt somewhat uncomfortable and pressured to attend their membership presentation. It was presented as a 90-minute session, but it ended up taking closer to two hours. If it’s offered to you, I’d recommend politely declining from the start.

Very clean and calm resort. The beach was excellent, and the pools are pristine. The staff are excellent. There are not too many activities available but this is a great place to spend a holiday if you don’t want to party. The food was not great. Most of the time it was just too salty. If the food were better, I would definitely return.

The staff was incredible! There were a few that made it extra special: Jessica (supervisor at Buffet), Yuliana (host at buffet), Hector (bell hop), Julio (excusion expert), Salvador (pool server), Jesus (server). They all made sure we had everything we needed while we were on the resort and were always smiling!
Definitely will be recommending to our Family and friends!

We stayed at the hotel for 8 days and in general it was a good stay.

Beach is fantastic.

Food was okay, it wasn't mind blowing by any stretch but did the job. The special restaurant food was more creative, but hit and miss at times. We frequented the Mexican restaurant for lunch and dinner, they had some good dishes there and for dinner it tended to be less busy than Italian or Asian. Here I gotta mention that the hotel has a very strange system for special restaurants that I have not seen anywhere before, and it's just bad. If you are not a VIP club guest, you have to wait in line to get in, then they tell you come back in an hour, then you wait some more in line, while people with VIP can make reservations. It took us 2 hours to get into Italian, that was super frustrating and bunch of guests were getting hangry, to which the staff replied go to the buffet. I don't see a reason why the hotel can't make it a booking system and accomodate everyone. There is absolutely no reason in this disorganization and especially on people's vacations.

Rooms were good, nothing special, but comfortable.

Entertainment was decent at night on several occasions but again one of those things that just kills time but nothing mind blowing. Daytime activities are meh, very unexciting.

All in all it was a decent value for money stay but nothing luxurious by any means.
