Its a decent resort style hotel in the Oasis chain. Not particularly close to anything, but thats fine when all you want to do is relax by the pool. There is no beach - beach in Praia is blah, better to go to Sal or Boa Vista for quality beaches. Room was correct, nice balcony overlooking the water and view on Fogo volcano, which was neat! AC worked well, wifi was sometimes spotty but ok in general. Good towels.
Front desk staff were helpful and responded to a request to fix the sink to drain properly and refill the soap dispensers (but this should be managed by the housekeeping anyway).
Breakfast was very good, large variety of items. Supper was another story entirely - takes AGES to get any attention from a waiter and then another hour to actually get food. All sitting in the dark, because there's very little indoor dining area for supper (that I could see) and the outdoor seating has no practical lighting at all.
Pool was nice, but always super windy so basically no use. Also not heated so only good during summer.

Very disappointed in Management's customer service. Flight cancellations by Cabo Verde Airlines both coming and going required reservation changes. Hotel would not accommodate changes even with 3 and 5 day advance notice--blamed Hotels.com yet refused to work with hotels.com requests to allow changes. They said we must cancell the entire reservation and rebook, but \"there are no reservations to book\". Result was we had to pay for 6 rooms (3 rooms for 2 nights) on each end of our reservation that we could not use. Will not reserve here again. Also, we paid for a \"garden view\" which was a hedge and the parking lot and road. We have stayed here numerous times, reserving 3-5 rooms for up to a week. They do not treat returning guests with any consideration. Cannot recommend to others. New hotels being built in the neighborhood. Thank goodness!

Like other reviews said, they can't seem to handle the basics. Arrived around noon, was told checkin was at 2pm. Came back at 2pm, but had to wait 30 minutes. Others were waiting much longer and every time Iv was in the lobby there were many people waiting that didn't look very happy. This hotel has potential, but not with the current management.

Understaffed hotel that needs an upgrade

This is a hotel that needs an upgrade in its overall conditions. I believe most of the staff are hard working/over worked, but the front desk staff appear a little aloof and not very concerned when patrons have a concern or complaint.

The hotel is older and needs repairs and updates. The curtains and cloth furniture had stains. The floor was dusty and i had to use the wipes i brought to clean the floor on mu hands and knees. The reviews that said the beds were hard are absolutely correct. Two out of the three beds were as hard as a rock. The shower leaked water all over the floor. One of the shower heads did not work. The service at the restaurants was really good and the workers at the restaurants were very attentive and nice, and the food was good. In our travels were seen the same hotel chain in Sal and Tarrafel and they were completely different. The owners need to desparately give this location some attention. We have tonhead back to this location for the end of our trip and i am not lookimg forward to it!

We liked the location and view, the service was often overhelmed. The level of service and amenities provided does not match the comparatively high price of the accomodation. The gym was bellow any imaginable standards. To order two drinks at the pool bar took often 45 minutes!

Danger! Protect yourself and Don’t stay here!

On our 2nd day there, someone broke into one of my family members room and took all of their valuables. I found it interesting that they were the only ones in our party to be placed on the 2nd floor. They had a room that was not near the cameras. The hotel had security guards that walked back and forth on the back side of the rooms. If this is the case, how is it that the security guard on duty didn’t see what happened.

Stay Away, Not Safe

The 2nd day we arrived, our son's room was broken into. The thieves stole close to $5000 of value between cash, 2 laptops, games, clothing, and a backpack. Someone pushed the back door open. The safe in the room was not working. The hotel was not very cooperative until they knew we had family that works at the police station. the hotel is not very secure and the back doors can be easily pushed open. It is not a safe location. There are a lot of loiters by the entrance and the hotel does nothing to stop them from harassing guests.

Good choice, although a bit overpriced

Stayed here twice during business trips.
The hotel is my preferred choice in the area, however the food isn’t always the best.
Some rooms still need redoing, but they seem to be on it. Parts of the hotel feel neglected (floor by pool coming apart, the one cable machine in the ‘gym’ is borderline dangerous, and there is always a massive hosepipe laying across stairs and pool area.
Staff mainly friendly. Would come back.

Good: Close to airport and two beaches, quiet part of town, near a great restaurant with tuna steak on hot rock dish, friendly staff, delicious breakfast buffet.
Bad: Expensive for what you get, shower didn't drain and had little to no hot water, toilet took an hour to refill, AC unit light lit up the room like daytime all night long.
Overall: I'm betting there are hotels around with all the good and less of the bad, and will stay somewhere else next time.

I stayed at the hotel four nights and things sort of went downhill after the first. To start, hot water in the bathroom was always lukewarm - it never got very hot and would get cold during a shower at times. Then it seems like there was a problem with electricity: I received a note - slid under the door - the second night about a power outage scheduled for the following day. That day the phone stopped working and didn't function again until my departure two days later so I had to use my mobile phone to order room service. Speaking of food: whereas the buffet breakfast is nice and plentiful, room service is not worth the price... Nothing I ordered was impressive or very tasty. Lastly, an issue with AC made the temperature fluctuate between cool and warm/humid the last day. So, overall I'm giving the hotel 3 stars because the location is great, decor in the lobby is nice, room was clean, and all the staff members I met were very professional. That's it. PS: I had to send my clothes to the laundry (and pay) for them to be ironed.. This is inconvenient. Please reconsider this.

It was overall a nice stay, but for a single woman traveler, seen coming out of the hotel for a walk, you are approached by men. It was easy enough to avoid by taking a taxi for $1 during the day and $2 at night.

Room was clean with nice view of sea, but there was a walkway between the room and the sea, so we had to keep the curtains closed for privacy. Amenities were good, property was clean (other than flies everywhere in CV). Service was decent although not overly friendly. Bed was hard and fairly uncomfortable but didn't keep me awake. Exercise room under renovation and therefore closed.

Overall a good stay

A good stay overall. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived due to a storm and instead of putting the people in our bungalow into another room - they moved us. Oh, and it was flooded.

Other than that it was all good. Food was very good and had an excellent range. Staff were nice however there is no shops in the complex apart from gift shops which don't sell anything like chocolate, coke etc.

Le personnel, tant à la réception, nettoyage, restauration et piscine ne semble pas heureux. Pas de sourire, pas de bonjour à l'arrivée, pas de remerciement pour avoir séjourné à l'hôtel. Très pauvre service. Nous avons demandé un lit d'appoint pour notre fille, après quatre demandes, toujours pas de lit. Nous avions réservé au même endroit après un voyage dans une autre île et avions demandé une chambre supérieure. Encore une fois, problème avec le lit d'appoint. Nous avons été obligé de demander trois fois avant que le lit arrive...à 22h30. Ameublement très désuet même dans une chambre supérieure. Les deux seuls points positifs de cet établissement est le petit-déjeuner copieux et la vue superbe sur l'océan à partir du bar/resto. Nous visitons souvent le Cap Vert mais nous ne retournerons jamais plus à cet établissement.

Das Hotel ist für die Insel sicher in einem recht guten Zustand. Zwischen Neubau und bereits Renovation gab es alles.
Die Anlage ist weitläufig, aber über die Festtage ziemlich laut durch die Umgebung. War aber zu erwarten.
