Nanjing visit

This hotel is very nice and a great location. Very near Fuzimiao and lots of food. It is connected to Aqua city mall. Has a nice pool, gym and sauna. Also the breakfast is very good. Will stay here again. Felt very safe here as well.

The hotel is OK, nice location. But I booked a day earlier and arrived the next day and negotiated the refund, they said they could do nothing about it. The staff, you don't feel welcome at all.

If you are looking for a nice location, then it's. Otherwise, nothing special.

Convenient shopping, restaurant, metro station SanShanjie 三山街站 and tourist attraction (Fuzi Miao) 南京夫子庙 nearby. Best place to stay only off the room run down old tiles crack and stepping old carpet. The room services is good. Swimming pool not for adult but sona and gyms okay. Stayed 6 nights love to go to Confucian Temple Area (Fuzi Miao) 南京夫子庙 shopping area looking at the crowd night scenery.

Located near the Confucius Temple area, and surrounded by ugly old apartment buildings, this property is showing its age on many levels. The whole decor is very 1980’s. Bathroom in our room is very worn with major drainage problem in the walk-in shower. Breakfast is decent with mixed Western and local choices. Nearest Metro is 10 min away by walking through a makeshift pedestrian alleyway next to a construction site. Hotel guests are mostly local business travelers.

Staff were nice, most spoke English. When I arrived the AC wasn't working in my room but called up and got it fixed straight away. Room itself was fairly standard, got all the basic amenities (towels, shower gel, slippers, umbrella etc.) Location was very good, about 5/10 min walk from 2 metro lines and close to lots of shops / food.

The reception service is good. But the staff is kind of lazy. I asked about direction to the nearby mall, she just pointed to a totally wrong direction, letting us walking outsider for 5 minutes, while there was a door next to the mall.

The hallway is not air-conditioned, making it very hot.

This hotel is a good location but that's about all it has to offer. The room wasn't comfortable and the thermostat was broken. In the middle of the night my room was 26 degrees and sweltering. The room service staff didn't understand anything on their own menu. Eventually I settled on toast which they managed to bring without butter, then I had to wait another half an hour for that too. Overall not a great stay, thankfully I was only there for one night.

Perfect Experience for this American

This hotel experience was perfect. The room was clean and comfortable and near Confucius Temple and lots of shopping. We were able to communicate with staff, despite only speaking English, and had no issues receiving what we needed. We ate room service both nights we were there and everything we had was delicious and priced reasonably. I would recommend this hotel to any Westerner or traveler headed to Nanjing.

The hotel was very nice, the room was dated but nothing to put you off. Although if you not a fan of combi bath/showers probably not the hotel for you. The staff were brilliant and the location is amazing, in the tourist area and attached to a really nice mall if your into that sort of thing but only a short walk to the nice local hidden gems.

Awesome stay in Nanjing

We visited Nanjing on the Dragon Boat Festival in June. We thoroughly enjoyed Nanjing and will visit again. There are lots of great sites and museums. The hotel was situated in a great area. The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. The concierge was great with many helpful suggestions, maps and printouts of what to see and cost in getting there. (taxi, bus, subway, walking) There room was very comfortable with a few english tv channels. The carpet was a bit worn, the bathroom finishing needed some work and the blinds closing off the bathroom from the bedroom (yes very common in China) did not close fully.The breakfast was super! We will defintely vist here again.

The room is spacious, comfortable and with a goos view. It is situated near River Qinhuai where the boat trip is a must-do thing in Nanjing. However, my first experience in this hotel is unbelievable. The front desk contacted the room service and distributed a room to me. But when I went to the room, it was very messy and hadn't been tidied up. The room service came at once and cleaned up the room at once.

It was just ok. The location was good. The staff were friendly and could speak pretty good English.

The business centre was terrible, with constant loud noise from phone set to ring insanely loudly. The computers were slow and the chairs were broken.

The hotel restaurant was freezing, with no heat on in December. People were actually wearing their parkas to eat. The food was poor.
It was the most hilariously awful exective lounge I have ever seen! Laughable!
Free laundry for club floor and free mini bar (excluding alcohol), so that was nice!

But all in all, it was ok. It was a Holiday Inn, in China. So too much cannot be expected. I probably would not stay here again, but it was not a terrible experience.

there are much better hotels to stay at. this hotel is old, poorly maintained, and the breakfast is terrible. The catering equipment in the breakfast room is so old, was so off putting i could not have any breakfast, so i went to the Starbucks in the adjoining mall. Definitely would look for a newer hotel next time. I sat in the executive lounge and kept smelling cooking oil. Compliments to reception staff however, because when i complained about the foul smell (of cooking oil)! in my ROOM they moved me to a suite. And concierge was helpful.

Excellent service of concierge staff who went the extra mile to get a taxi for us. Traffic was bad at that time (ard 2pm on Sunday) and he helped call taxi and even went out to the street to get one to ensure we are on time to train station. Bravo !

Great hotel in Nanjing

I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights during the Youth Olympic Games. Staff was always very helpful and spoke good English. Staff would always give the cab drivers our daily destinations which was very helpful as they don't speak any English! The hotel was only 2 blocks to the metro and is connected to the Aqua Mall. There was also another mall across the street. Confucius temple and a large market was located only 2 blocks away. The restaurant served a great buffet at every meal. The hotel has 2 towers. B tower had bigger and newer rooms but A tower rooms were still very acceptable and clean. Highly recommended!

Nice hotel close to many touristy attractions.

Hotel was easy to find and attached to Aqua City which is a well known shopping area. About 10 mins walk is a couple of touristy attractions and many things to see and buy as well. Transport was easy with a main subway station within just 15 mins walk. The staff was really helpful and know enough English to have a verbal communication with you. Room was clean and tidy. Only one little minor complaint was the AC wasn't strong enough. I turned it to get the room really cool but it never went to that point no matter how low I put it but it wasn't much of a problem.

Overall the Holiday Inn Nanjing offers great comfort at a reasonable price when staying in Nanjing. A newly refurbished pool and free internet, both Wifi and cable were nice new treats since earlier reviews. Recommended for those who need a little extra comfort. All the contruction work in the area is a drawback, but it will ultimately lead to a new subway station next door.

The lobby was very warm as were the rooms. We thought the breakfast was included in the price of the room. The food was really good as was the laundry service. The water was not warm in one of our rooms....this was corrected.

The location is quite good, right next to a large mall and near the major sights. Americans, who are only used to Holiday Inns in the US, will be in for a very pleasant surprise. My only complaints are since Internet service is very cheap now, this service should be free. Including breakfast would improve the feeling of hospitality, too.

Mildew bathrooms..

I stayed one night at this HOliday Inn... The hotel is nice, good size room, pretty new hotel. However, was not completly happy with 3 things:
1) Internet is not free. On hotels.com says that the room includes internet (non-wired), but when i checked in, they did not want to grant what the website says. They said that they are not responsible for what an external site writes or offers. Hmmm.... I was speechless! I ended up paying for it because I didn't wanna deal with the front desk manager's unwillingness to fulfill customer's request, eventhough, it was not our fault.
2) Breakfast rate was expensive... not even that good.. it costs around USD $20.
3) The worse part - MILDEW bathroom! Gosh, it is a very new/upkeeped hotel but bathroom has no ventilation at all... STRONG MILDEW smell... it was super-bad...

I was visiting Nanjing and was extremely impressed with the level of this hotel.

The price was extremely reasonable and it is really a 4 star hotel up to western standards. The facilities were very good with direct access to a mall with a large choice of restaurants.

It is also in the downtown and close to a subway station.

I am very satisified with their service. The check-in process was outstanding. The front desk people are very polite. Our family arrived the hotel very earlier, but the the front desk tried to find rooms for us and also upgraded our rooms too. Hence, we can change our clothes and go outside for sightseeing. In the next day, the sky is raining, the bell boy went outside to find a large taxi so we can put our family 4 luggages in the taxi. I was very happy for their service. I will stay there next time.

Great hotel with great location

The hotel was good enough to even be a 5-star hotel. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The building is very new and everything is well maintained, the size is huge for a normal deluxe room. Location wise, it is connected to a shopping mall, which makes finding food to eat after a long day of sightseeing very convenient.

This hotel is highly recommended for anyone who comes to Nanjing!
