The room is very clean and spotless,. The housekeeper cleans room and changes the sheets every day.

Front desk staff and the manager are very friendly. they offer help anytime I ask.

I like the breakfast buffet.There is a lot of variety food that is very fresh. There is the staff who cooks on side as well .

The location of the hotel is perfect. I can access public transportation at short walking distance. I can find a lot of different restaurants, shopping center at a few minutes walk.

I enjoyed my stay. Silly.

The room and facilities were good though shame about the gym and no pool but they were being renovated. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is in a great location from the metro and shopping centres.
The staff are very professional and really accommodating even with the language difference with Google translation it worked a treat.

Comfortable hotel and next to Deji shipping mall.

One of my favorate hotel in Nanjing town, the room is not big but complete and so comfortable. I like the strategy location, opposite the Deji shopping mall, food choice, easy access to subway and the hotel rate is competitive. I will definately stay here again for my next visit

Amazingly to my surprise to find the 5-star hotel.

It is centrally located in the centre of city, very close to subway metro station, shopping malls & restaraunts.

The reception staff Mr Cheng & house-keeper Ms Lu on Level 5 were very attentive, professional & friendly to help me to check in & settle down.

I stayed in a room with the city view but quiet at night. The room was very clean , bed & pillows were super comfortable.

There are a fitness centre & a swimming pool in the hotel which seem to be under renovation.

What a great find in Nanjing. Central hotel deserves all the stars they can get. The location was central, next to subway and lots of restaurants around. There's also a big network of food court in the basement of the hotel, connecting all major hotels and shopping mall. The room was very clean and so comfortable. Thanks to executive housekeeper Kemin Zhang and her team. Front desk team was also super helpful. I don't speak much Chinese but they sure went above and beyond to help me get around. We love this hotel. Foreigner friendly, especially Charles Hao, the General Manager. He is very attentive, helpful, gave us a lot of good advice on your trips and it’s memorable. Hotel staffs are very accommodating, always smiling and eager to please. We r very happy throughout our trip. Breakfast spread is excellent! Room is very clean esp the toilet. Enjoyed our stay! Will choose this hotel again. Location is very good, you can get anything from Deji Plaza. Beds and pillows are very comfortable.

We stayed here years ago and this place was pretty average. So this year (2024) we were not expecting much but were surprised at how it has changed and really increased its level. Everything was so dramatically better. Everything in the room was newer and clean. The bathroom fixtures were newer and spotless. And with it being an unusual 105 degrees outside every day, the AC had no trouble keeping up with it. Even with construction going on outside, our room was completely quiet. It was like a completely different new hotel. The staff was professional and polite and if we had any issue it was addressed quickly. The location is convenient and only a few minutes walk to the subway at Xinjiekou. Lots of restaurants and shopping available close by too. The breakfast buffet was also a treat and provided many options. We will definitely stay here again and would recommend it. At this price it is quite a bargain.

The pool was under maintenance and not available. Maybe the management should list that information earlier so that I can book a hotel with a functioning swimming pool.

The beds are twin-size beds.

The rooms are in two rows, one facing the main streets, and the other facing inside. Obviously the inside ones are quieter. I hope this information helps people who will book them in the future.

I would give Nanjing Central Hotel a five-star rating.

During our stay, an emergency arose with my family, and the hotel staff were incredibly helpful in promptly calling for an ambulance. Within 5-10 minutes, the ambulance arrived and swiftly transported my family to the nearby hospital, which was only 1-2 kilometers away from the hotel.

The room was impeccably clean, with a modern and new ambiance. The housekeeping staff on level 10 were exceptionally helpful and polite.

We opted for the hotel breakfast buffet during check-in, paying RMB 50 per person. It was not only delicious but also thoroughly enjoyed by my kid.

Overall, if I ever find myself flying to Nanjing again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel.

As for drawbacks, the gym facility was unfortunately under maintenance for over four months, which was disappointing as we were unable to utilize it.

The hotel looks very nice when first seen. however, the design is not practical, there is no privacy at all for showering, because there is no door at the dressing area. As soon as stepping out of the shower, the naked body is seen by your roommate (well, husband/wife is okay, but will be embarrassed if friends or other family members) . also, there is only one hook over the counter, but the space is not long enough to hang changing clothes. it seems the focus was not at the user but the look.

Very well located hotel with fine staff. But you can see right away that the hotel is very Chinese made. Everything looks good on a surface, but when you start looking closely, there are many problems: something doesn’t work, needs maintenance etc. In the shower we had some bugs and flies, Gym is a total disaster! The equipments are very old and not functioning. Pool seems to be dirty.
Breakfast is very fine.

Excellent service. They’ve proactively upgraded us to a better room. They have a specific person helping us to bring our luggages & led us to our room. On our 1st night, we went out for a walk right after check in, came back to our room, found a surprise waiting for us, which was a folded towel animal with a hand written welcome note with 2 free drinks. On our 2nd & 4th night, another 2 folded towel animals waiting for us in the room again which put a smile on your faces. On our way to check out, we saw the house keeper, she proactively thanked us and asked us if we have enough water bottles, if not, she’ll bring us a couple. At the check out counter, the girl proactively asked us if everything was ok. And gave us another surprise, 2 bags of Nanjing stones for good luck. Excellent service, I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

Booked two rooms of different room type. Got a free upgrade for the cheaper room. Received free yogurt upon check-in and the room was in good condition too. The staff was friendly and helpful. Had to pay deposit too, which was not stated on the booking. Only thing to look out for is the hotel breakfast. If you booked a room with breakfast, make sure to clarify if the waitress say that your room number is not on the list and suggests that you can enjoy the breakfast while they deduct the cost from your deposit. Might have been purely a mistake for me, but good to take note of it.

My room's air conditioning was not working during my third night of stay. Quick response was taken by the management staff to rearrange an upgraded room immediately to minimize my affectness. Senior management staff appologized personnelly about the inconvenience caused. This reflects their management and service has achieve to a superior level though the hardware are required to be upgraded simultaneously.

There is no room really quite, we smelled smoking all the time even within non-smoking area. They have construction ongoing at nonsmoking area from 1st to 3rd floor, so any rooms above are quite noisy during the day. The overview rooms which are facing the street are quite noisy during the night, the interior rooms which face lobby with restaurant are noisy too. It is not suitable for family stay for sure. Even the staffs are quite friendly, but overall experience is awful. I brought two kids switched four times in three days in order to find a less noisy room...

I booked a deluxe room for 2 adults and 1 child. The room was super tiny and was an awkward layout with sliding doors hiding the bathroom and closet. We complained about the size of the room so we upgraded to a suite for 300 yuan per night. The suite was wonderful and very reasonable upgrade cost.

Great Hotel in a Great Location

We stopped off here for a couple of nights after a work conference to see more of the city. The hotel is perfectly located in Xinjiekou, at the centre of the city's metro system, which makes it very convenient to travel to/from the airport and rail station as well as Xuanwu Lake and the Confucian Temple. The room was clean and up-to-date in decor, although it overlooked the dining area so there wasn't much of a view or privacy. The breakfast buffet contained both Chinese and Western options.

- Checked in at around 2pm, the room is not ready. There was a miscommunication wherein 2 people said that the rooms are not ready, but 1 person said it is. Since keys were issued to us, we went ahead and visited the room. Lo and behold, the room was not clean... I don't think they should be handing out keys if the rooms were not ready. After coming back, all is clean.

I choose this hotel again when I travel to Nanjing last weekend because last time my friend booked this hotel for me and I love their new renovated european style room very much. So I booked it again by myself this time. But when I arrived the room I booked, I was so disappoint because that room was kinda old chinese style which was totally different from the room my friend booked last time. Then I went to the front desk asked and they answered that the room my friend booked was their new renovated Excutive room (located on 9th or10th floor), while the room I booked this time was Delux room. I was very upset but nothing could change because I already prepaid by online booking. Maybe the front desk stuff realize it, he offered me a free upgrade to the Excutive room right away. Now i love this hotel even more and would recommend it to anyone going to Nanjing. P.S: the location is great and wifi is free : )

Beds were particularly comfortable. We had a \"suite\" which included a small kitchenette w/sink, microwave, and fridge, but no dishes. Bath included a deep relaxing bathtub (no jets) w/bath salts and a separate shower. The \"living room\" was a comfortable easy chair and ottoman in a small corner \"room\" that was essentially the space in which we put our suit cases and also had the closets. There was also desk space and plenty of plugins.

I've stayed in 4-star hotels in Xi'an, Beijing, & Shanghai, and the Central Hotel in Nanjing was the best one out of all of them. Great location near several shopping areas and night life. The bed was very comfortable (firm but not too hard) and the bathroom had a separate tub and shower unit- with the showerhead on the ceiling. Nice toiletries. Breakfast buffet was included and consisted of variety of Chinese & Western items, which were delicious. Staff was extremely helpful and attentive. I would definitely stay here again!

I have stayed at the Central Hotel before and always been impressed with the way that the hotel has gone out of its way to make my stay enjoyable. The room had been newly refurbished. The bed, unlike some in China had a beautiful soft mattress, pillows and was very comfortable. The assistant manager rang after I had settled in to see how the room was. I did not eat at the buffet restaurant this time, but instead invited friends to the New Natural restaurant, a Chinese style restaurant. The food was Sichuan style, very tasty and spicy!

All in all a great stay.

The rooms here have an odd design -- you enter through the bathroom -- but the furnishings are top notch, the bed is super comfortable, the desk elegant and practical both. Gigantic buffet breakfast, very attentive/helpful staff, and a location in the heart of fashionable downtown Nanjing. Two blocks to the Xinjieko metro station. Excellent lap pool in the basement (although when I was there it was only open 2-8 pm). The inside rooms overlook a seven-story atrium with a wall of glass on the farther wall. Highly recommended.

Upgraded with Chinese character

I stayed at the Central Hotel last weekend and was thrilled to see that the rooms had been upgraded/modernised with a very comfortable western style bed, lovely silky sheets and comfortable pillows. This hotel is very handy to XinJae Kou where the subway is. It is also opposite the Deiji Plaza, a luxury shopping mall. I didn't go to the hotel restaurant this time, but previously the buffet meal of an evening and breakfast buffet have been excellent with a great variety of interesting food. This time I visited Element Fresh, the new Shanghai based restaurant, very close to the Central Hotel. Shopping for electronic goods such as cell phones/computer gear is a great possibility in Ju Jiang Lu, again very close by. It is just as cheap or even cheaper to go through Expedia, and I got an upgrade and a late 3pm checkout( without asking).

The only negatives- the check in procedure could be managed a little better. It takes quite a time, and it would be good to see the staff acknowledge that people are waiting to be served- perhaps a few more staff on duty might help, as the two were struggling to get through in an acceptable time. The swimming pool has limited hours.
But all in all this is not much to complain about and I will be staying again!

Unexpectedly awesome experience!

I checked in here not expecting much, but I was totally impressed by the service; the staff were really nice and helpful. I was upgraded for free to an executive suite. I ended up staying a lot of time in my room due to the insane heat outside, but enjoyed it nonetheless. The room was clean and feels very high tech with a great view of downtown Nanjing. Wonderful experience; would definitely recommend and come back here again!

Lacking at critical points

When travelling for business one’s focus and expectations are different to that of when travelling for leisure. The overall comfort was adequate however the hotel suffers greatly at levels of overall cleanliness, unpolished service and “strange” planning. To top it all the staff did not have control over the local smokers who seemed to ignore the no smoking signs everywhere.

Good location

There's nothing particularly superior about a superior room: not one dresser drawer, basic shower, no robes. I had previously stayed here and that room was much better. Hotel is in a good central downtown location, across the street from the Deji Plaza with eateries and metro. Concierge is very helpful, staff is pleasant. English-speaking reception.

Good example of local 5 star hotel

Excellent service from the staff, very helpful and courteous. Enough English speaking staff members too. Decent breakfast buffet; mix of western, chinese, japanese food. Good location for downtown. Room is comfortable. If you get a room facing inwards the indoor atrium balcony is a nice touch; you can open the doors and not feel so claustrophobic in the room.

New, clean, and friendly

The hotel is located right at the shopping district of Nanjing. About 7 minutes walk from xinjiekou subway station. The entrace was a little bit hard to find because the door is not facing the big street and the lobby was on the forth floor. The staffs there were very welcoming. They even called to check if we need anything. The room was not big but clean and new.

The only drawback it was really hard to fly a taxi in the area...don't expect there are taxis waiting at the hotel door coz this is not a very big hotel.
