I had such a wonderful time at this amazing hotel!! I was a single female traveler in March 2026, and I felt safe and secured here. I even had the opportunity to take a quick dip in the pool. The top floor restaurant overlooking the Taj Mahal is amazing! Thank you to this lovely place.

Room was pretty dirty , tables had black dirt , linens were not clean and had black and brown spots . They have glass water bottles which they fill with “ mineral” water and seal it . Charge for any extra water .
Breakfast bakery items were terrible with no taste . Servers barely came and asked how were things .
Not happy with visit , not recommending!

Very poor Gym and Recreational Area.

1. They have a pathetic gym which has not been upgraded since the hotel was build in 1963. Very poor machine and they are a hazard and can injure the user.
2. They advertised a recreation room, which was a disaster, the pool table was broken the sticks we too old and broken, they must be 50 yr old and the air hockey table electric connection was broken and there was an open electric wire which could have been hazard for my kids.
3. The staff was very nice and friendly and helpful.

Not much to look at on the outside but the inside is gorgeous. We arrived spectacularly early, but they were still able to check us in. Unfortunately we weren’t then given any information about breakfast timings/locations, WiFi, the pool being closed etc. However this was quick to work out. The evening food in the Indian restaurant was exceptional, and the buffet breakfast was good too. Lunch buffet was quite expensive but expected. We were there on Republic day, and invited to the ceremony and later breakfast. The staff were wonderful and this also meant we were introduced to the manager. Shame that the pool was closed but I do appreciate it is winter! Shame not to stay longer. Very clean, very comfortable, very helpful staff.

This hotel is also a wedding and event venue so the lobby can be crowded during an event. However, the room was quiet. The furniture are a bit older but it doesn't bother us because we didn't spend much time in the room. The hotel has a lot of amenities such as the pool, spa, and a game room.

We stayed here for 2 nights with family. The grounds were gorgeous and the hotel lobby was warm and inviting. The premises were very clean and well maintained. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. The breakfast buffet and dinner buffets had a lot of variety and something to please every palate. Excellent value for money. The star rating said 5, which is without a doubt a mistake. While the hotel did feel safe and was priced reasonably, it was quite dated and not what we expected. The rooms do not look like the photos. Also, I went with a friend and we requested a room with two twin beds, which they delivered. However, they were two twin beds pushed together sharing blankets.

The best part about the hotel was the fact that there are many little shops and vendors on premises, which made for some fun and convenient shopping.

Extremely poor service quality at the breakfast. Ordered some food, waited for 15 mins and then the waiter asked me to go and get it myself. Waited for 15 more mins at live counter with no success. The credit card machine wasn't working at the check-out and the check-out process took 20 mins. Didn't get the room that I expected. Overall, it's a pathetic stay, wouldn't recommend if someone's looking for 5 star hotel.

We requested for smoke-free two twin bedrooms but we were given two rooms with a king bed and one room smelled of smoke. They themselves realized and changed the room. However, they never made any effort to offer us twin beds or apologize.

During check-in staff asked for passports for even 1 yr old for security reasons!! Perhaps this is the policy of the hotel.

The hotel and service were generally excellent, and of course Agra has a multitude of wonderful attractions - with the Baby Taj and Agra Fort (both wonderful to visit) as well as the incomparable Taj Mahal. The hotel had a good tour office and a nice swimming pool. The only let down was the buffet restaurant which was both too busy and disappointing, whereas the main restaurant was very nice.

I had booked this hotel considering it is 5 star. I would rate this as a 3 star hotel. The Hotel Lobby was nice. The morning breakfast was good. However I was utterly disappointed by the dinner experience in the Mogul Restaurant. We ordered a non-veg soup around the table. It was provided after 30 minutes of wait and was a vegetarian. Waited another 15 minutes for replacement. Waited 45 minutes more for dinner and ended up getting the wrong order again. All in all a very frustrating experience. For a 5 star hotel I would have expected better service specially at the prices of dishes in the restaurant.

Hotel tried to slip in additional charges for "new year" upon booking (having not displayed additional charges in their price on either expedia or booking.com), and then again upon arrival (despite us having written agreement from the staff to not charge us via email). We booked multiple rooms for 6 people, we ended up only traveling with 5 people and required one less room - and we didn't mind paying for the unused room but then the hotel came up with some very elaborate reason why the other rooms are only for 4 people and thus charged us extra for an "additional person". Finally the check in process took over 40 minutes. Overall: nice hardware and location but horrible and marginally dishonest service.

I will not recommend this better choose Radisson or Jaypee.

Every part of our stay was enjoyable, from the welcome upon arrival, the assistance settling into our rooms, the meals, the help organizing our visits to the Taj Mahal and the Fort, and the availability of breakfast very early in the morning so we could get to the Taj before sunrise. Where the hotel went above and beyond was when they shipped a jacket to me that I'd left in the room before departing. I'm grateful for their extra efforts.

I booked the hotel with certain doubts based on what other guest were saying and I must say that I really loved the Shiraz, the hotel keeps that luxury of old times, it really makes you feel you are in India. I loved the decor, my room was super spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is awesome and even you can see the Taj Mahal at a distance from the restaurant at the top. Service wise, everyone was so polite and respectful and efficient. Special Kudos RAMESI at the front desk, always helpful and always smiling. I would book this hotel in a heart beat on my next visit to Agra

Cons The room was a bit dated and you had to pay for the wifi in your room.
Pros the staff are very nice and helpful, good location, i felt safe and it wasnt noisey even tho there was a wedding on in the gardens but i could hear it from my room. You can have free wifi in the lobby.
I would recommend this hotel again just because from my research it appeared to be the best hotel in its price range.

Front office team needs to be more quick and responsive, i had issue both at the time of check in and check out. During check in after taking room keys for waiting 15 minutes at the front, the key was found not functioning so another 10 minutes at the room gate along with our bags and everything, see the pic attached?? now same at the time of check out, had to wait for 15 minutes despite of information in advance. If there would have been Que, i could understand but all counters are vacant and hotel staff are standing idle but to complete the check out process, they have kept only one counter operational now we are waiting in queue to settle bills.
Also, breakfast was not fresh, the food quality has go down, the idli were cold, Jalebi was not fresh infact the foreign client sitting next to us were upset of choosing Clark Shiraz, they were not happy with quality and hygiene standards.
Room fridge was empty no confectionery!!

Older luxury hotel retains its authentic charm

Clarks Shiraz was for many years, the premier hotel in Agra. Now there are other luxury hotels, and so the competition is intense. Clarks remains a very nice hotel. It is old fashioned, in a good sense, and it has retained its character. It has multiple restaurant choices and a nice shoppping arcade. The rooftop restaurant is excellent, and breakfast offered many choices. The landscaped grounds around the hotel are lush, and there is a beautiful swimming pool (unheated) with plenty of loungers and towel/food/drink service. Service is excellent at the hotel. I was upgraded to a beautiful suite with Taj Mahal views, and I was allowed a late checkout and use of the pool until my late afternoon departure. The lobby is always bustling as there are many tour groups who stay at this hotel. Unfortunately there is no free wifi in the rooms, and so the lobby is always full of people accessing the internet.

Not 5 Star - Tired Building/Unexceptional Staff

If you want/need a 5 star experience in Agra, find other accommodations. The poor experience began at check-in. Our presence was not acknowledged by the front desk staff for 13 minutes, they had a paperwork crisis keeping all but the one assisting another couple occupied. No mention about breakfast even though I was confident that it was included in our rate. The paper key cover had been reused from a previous guest. At checkout, I was charge a 5.3% "convenience fee" to be charged in USD when I expressly asked to be charged in rupees.

Except for a new TV, room doesn’t appear to have been updated since original construction in 1964. Only 1 outlet for phones/computers except by unplugging TV/lamp or using the bathroom outlet. We requested twin beds, but were given a King, but the “King” was actually two twins pushed together, with twin sheets placed crosswise the head and foot, but the cover (no top sheet) was actually two twin comforters, so there was an overlap in the center. No flat top sheet is apparently common in Indian hotels, but I expect 4 & 5 star accommodations to have higher standards for comfort and sanitation.

Food was adequate and appropriate for a breakfast buffet, although baked goods (muffins and danish) were stale. Service was lacking - had to flag the serving staff down numerous times for coffee and tea and refills.

This isn’t a five star hotel. Reputable booking agencies should rate this hotel at best 4. I won't go back.

I had heard about this hotel for a very long time from relatives who had traveled to Agra. The wifi was not free in the room, only in the lobby.
The lobby was so full, I came down and passed by a few times, but the sofas were few and far between and no place to sit and use wife.
This hotel needs to be updated!

Very close to Tajmahal north gate. Old property with very dull looking rooms, not refreshing at all! Did not obsverve that my booking do not include breakfast, disappointed to know after check-in. Have to send confirmation mails couple of times as hotel did not have my booking reference! No wifi for free. Mughal restaurant is very congested with over priced menu. Later learnt that many good hotels exists with better offers.

We visited Agra on 27th June for a weekend tour and booked two rooms in the Hotel. We found the Hotel very well maintained with huge campus premises, excellent staff, nice and spacious rooms and good food. It was like having 5 star facilities at the price of say 3 to 4 star. I will strongly recommend this Hotel to all those looking for hotel accommodation at Agra. The Hotel stay made our weekend trip to Agra very pleasant.

No free wi-fi and the in-room wi-fi came at a very hefty fee. Despite what's listed as amenities, there was no self-serve laundry. Our TV in the room didn't work initially and they had to send a technician to get it working. I think the air conditioning is central so if the hotel doesn't have it turned on, your not getting it in your room as we didn't. The breakfast buffet is very expensive but had a nice variety of food.

The hotel is removed from the town but if you're willing to go for a bit of a walk there are some restaurants nearby (although not many). The restaurants within the hotel have a hefty tourist mark-up. When we looked at the menus the dishes were marked up roughly 100% as compared to normal restaurant prices.

I think for what it was, the hotel was over priced. Given the chance to re-do things, we might have tried a different hotel.

Out of the city a little in green quiet area.

Useful base from which to visit the Taj and Fatepur Sikri.

Very good breakfast and dinner in their upstairs restaurant.
