Room not in order- air conditioner non functional and dripping water. Bathroom Exhaust had very bad aroma - poopy smell. Towels very old with Stains! The General Manger was very understanding and made room Changes. However my Feedback: poor room quality inspection prior to allotment to the Customer.

Terrible experience. The mattress provided by the hotel staff was infested with roaches, which was absolutely unacceptable. The elevator button for the 8th floor was not functioning, forcing us to go to the 9th floor and carry our heavy luggage down the staircase every single time. Despite our struggles, no staff member offered any assistance. Additionally, there were no bathmats in the washroom, and when we asked, the staff suggested using towels as a substitute, which was highly unprofessional. Overall, it was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel, and I would never recommend this place to anyone.

We have stayed at The Shalimar Hotel, every year for last at least 30 years now, as it was good for all the amenities and staff were very friendly and looked after us very well! This time, there were too many issues, which I have submitted to the hotel on their feedback firm and I was very verbal too with complaints. Not staying on our return to Mumbai, which we had booked with Expedia, and cancelled it today.

This Is my 5th times that I’ve stayed at Shalimar Hotel, and I loved it.
Staff is extra courteous and very helpful and friendly.
Overall Excellent Services.
While I’ll certainly return back to stay in future, I’ll definitely recommend to collogues and friends.

Beautiful old hotel that gets a lot wrong. I booked a non-smoking room, and they had none left. So room smelled. They changed my room which improved it a bit, but another room they showed me smell SO STRONG of perfume.

Old hotel that needs a lot of maintenance. Beautiful old marble. 1/2 shower didn't work. Small corners of cleaning need to be done. Breakfast was very weak. Safe was not screwed to wall, and battery kept dying.

The hotel is well situated and the staff is friendly and helpful
My room however was small as were the closet and the little window with a blind that didn't work
The hotel advertises rooms that are probably nice but mine wasn't.
The breakfast buffet was average maybe a little better on Indian foods
On the whole my appreciation is quite benevolent

Nothing special about this place, average. Didnt get breakfast which is known for complmintary breaky. Got discount on nothing. Even the accomodation price fluctuated for different day. When i booked, it was one price per night. I will never stay there again.

Comfortable hotel with international feel

Comfortable stay. Hotel was what was expected although I would not describe it as \"boutique\". Good position at Kemps Corner and easy to get Uber or local cab. Rooms were comfortable and reasonable size. Staff were helpful. Hotel let down by breakfasts which were rudimentary and coffee on both days very weak. Fortunately the bakery on etc ground floor serves excellent coffee.and could have been in any city

Allowing for cultural differences is an issue. We loved the staff enthusiasm. We had to put up the \"do not disturb\" sign as we were having the door knocked on 6 times a day. The door card had to be adjusted everyday as you could not use the elevator without it. The quality of the apartment was okay the bar was limited and the tea and coffee was meagre. The inhouse restaurant was fantastic and the staff could not do enough for you.

I was very disappointed in the way the front staff organised my finial accommodations bill and services bill I received when checking out. There were amount take from my bank account that were not authorised, this is in appropriate practices. I will be take this matter further will all parts involved. Comfortable hotel but process not user friendly

The room was very comfortable and food tasted good. However, the checkin and checkout process was the worse from what I have seen so far in other hotels. It took us almost 20-25 mins to check-in and around 15 -20 mins for checkout. We could have missed our onward flight. The staff are very polite but the front desk team, though polite, in my opinion are inexperienced. They were charging us more, when already pay at hotel was fixed for an amount including taxes. Moreover, the hotel policy dictates payment while check-in instead of check-out.

The Hotel dosent qualify for a 4 star. A 3 star is fine.

Shalimar Hotel

Was a nice clean hotel, I found the staff on the front desk, not especially helpful, I was there for dental treatment and was wanting a quick tour, sightseeing trip. The guy went on to Google, I informed him that I was quiet capable of doing that, and walked away and ended up seeing only the dentist and nearby shops.
The maitre d in the restaurant was especially helpful, especially finding me soft food to eat. The rest of the waiters need a bit of chivving up. The breakfast selection was mostly Indian food, but you could order any sort of eggs. I would have preferred more fruit, some mangos and bananas would be good.
The District bar was my favourite, I usually went down early evening and had a few drinks, the local community are there and were very friendly.
I would stay there again.

Convenient location - easy access to Peddar Road

Had good experience in Gulmarg restaurant. Staff was courteous and service excellent.
One recommendation I would like to make is the bathroom glass facing the room should have a retractable curtain so that while taking shower, privacy is maintained. Right now person in the room can see a person taking shower.

The Shalimar Hotel will never get better

My initial reaction to my stay was to leave and forget but I feel obliged to add further warnings to previous complaints: not clean, staff unhelpful, facilities poor; I must reiterate all. To these I add the most alarming, the air-conditioning unit leaking on to the television and connected device and wall soaked with condensation. I informed the staff, warning of a fire hazard; they seemed unaware. That night I was told confidently it was fixed; it was worse. Complaints regarding the lack of cleanliness (stains on the floor, filthy surfaces, ants), if they addressed any it was not noticeable. I gave up; their approach is charming reassurance but no action. The staff had every opportunity to put things right but chose not to. I have stayed in other exceptional hotels in Mumbai; the management could learn from them. The breakfast staff were reasonably attentive and deserve some credit.

House keeping needs to be improved - ie. cleaning of bathrooms. As found black mould around shower cubicle. Also, suggested to have some fragrances in the foyer, as there was a foul smell coming in the foyer.

The room are OK but the facilities are quite bad and limited. A super tiny tined gym... To be used only by a single guest at time.
Breakfast ok but bring your warm clothes with you because you will freeze. There will be more than 35 degree outside but you need to freeze inside. Such of waste of energy and for what to be disconfortable?

Hopeless and rubbish people. Just want to cheat guests. I have never come across a hotel in my entire worldwide travel experience where the hotel asks for entire trip payment in advance. The breakfast spread is absolutely rubbish and the manager incharge is only interested in seeing you go. Wifi is totaly unstable. Even the laptop for guests use at the reception does not work. Would never stay with them again. Strongly recommend people to be careful before booking a stay with THE SHALIMAR HOTEL MUMBAI

We did not enjoy our stay at the hotel as the standard of the services, cleanliness and general hospitality does not relate match with their rating. They can cheat you if you are not careful. Our first day was horrible, we were not given the room that we had booked and instead were given a substandard room and charged the same rate. When we threatened to shorten our stay to one day and look for the another commendation that is when they promised to shift us to the desired room on the second day.

Amazing roomservice, gotta try the sheeshas

So I went to Bombay for a wedding while there I stayed in the hotel, this is amazing value for your money, location is superb and the staff are amazing! All requests were fulfilled with quality and expertise! Only had two minor incidents with the staff however that was swiftly resolved and the rest of the stay was perfect! Furthermore when your there you gotta try the sheesh, it's the best you can have while your there and everything is increadibly cheap already, but if you head out it's even cheaper which is insane!

Anyways definitely recommend to stay here best place to be, if not staying at a 5star hotel

I had made a confirmed booking for a double room with complete payment 3 months in advance . At the hotel reception staff was rude and given 2 separate single beds and told it is subject to availability. It felt like been put through another scam by trip advisor and hotel. The hotel is very good 3 star equivalent in general with narrow aisle etc but definitely not a 5 star as advertised. Rooms otherwise were clean and spaciousness

Clean, Nice Hotel in Mumbai

Excellent mid-level hotel... clean, comfy, and nice customer service. The breakfast was delicious, too. The only drawback was that the on site nightclub means the hotel's ground floor is popular among affluent Mumbai hipsters in the evenings. But I didn't hear a peep up in my room on the 6th floor, so even that wasn't so much of an issue.

I recently booked 6 nights of accommodation at the shalimar hotel and due to a website error I had to do 6 single night bookings I emailed them to make sure that I was gonna stay I the same room for those 6 nights and I booked a room with a queen size bed they emailed me back to confirm that it was not a problem to stay in one and the same room for those nights however when I got there they they wanted to put me in a room with 2 single beds and make me move to another room the next day!!!!!!!!!!

I refused to accept this and they had to quickly clean another room upgrade from what I had ordered (luckily someone had vacated earlier) that took an hour and a half and I ended up consuming 2 beers in the downstairs bar which I immediately told them they had to make them complementary I showed them prove of the confirmation they had send me and after quite some time arguing then agreed to make those drinks complementary.

Give me a good reason why I should stay there again.

The restaurant staff were great. They went out of their way to serve us and they made the stay worthwhile. Sad how Dentzz Dental treat guests at the hotel who no longer wish to use their dental practise. Those guests were treated poorly because of Dentzz influence. Dentzz Dental treated me and other people like dogs.

Rooms are highly overpriced. The buffet breakfast has very limited options. The gym is haardly worth it. Just one treadmill and a few weights in a small, dingy room. The bed was very uncomfortable and the room isn't soundproofed

The first day of the stay was not ideal as my laptop was just not connecting to the wifi and the hotel technical team could just not set it right. But this was completely rectified the next day and I had a fantastic wifi connection over the next few days! The high points of my stay was a customer friendly team, a good Indian breakfast spread and great convenience in getting taxis at the doorstep. What could be improved is the quality of the lift as it is dark inside and does rattle a bit as it goes up. Overall, quite a pleasant stay and would look at this as a favorable option for future stays.

Good hotel conveniently located.

They didn't get the \"no smoking and need two separate beds\" message from Expedia I had requested, but they corrected the problem for us without charging extra. The hotel staff were courteous and accommodating. Breakfast, included in our stay, is very good with a wide selection of local and western choices. Would definitely recommend this hotel and consider staying again on a future trip.

Hotel is at convenient location and rooms are comfortable. Very disappointed with breakfast. Poor service and hygiene of the staff. Noticed cockroaches walking over bread and breakfast table. When pointed it out to manager he just remove them and sail is ok now they will not come back!! Also need variety of breakfast. Need better service from staff. I have noticed that breakfast service is going down the drain. WiFi speed is poor too.

Great Value + Convenient Neighborhood + Good Food

We got in pretty late - just after midnight. Check-in was rather painless, though we didn't get the room we had originally requested, but on calling the front desk they immediately rectified the situation. Room Service is around the clock, which we were grateful for given the time we got in - good food overall. The stocked minibar helped as well. Overall - I feel like I got my money's worth and then some. It was half the price of some of the other comparable south Bombay options and more central than them. I will definitely return

This hotel does not appear to be 4 star from outside. Not the best area from location point of view. Service is erratic. Small dinning area and very limited and repetitive breakfast. But ok in so far as serving a purpose and quite clean.
