This hotel is a real gem.

This hotel is the best hotel we have stayed in for a very long time. All of the staff we came in to contact with were fantastic nothing was too much trouble for them they are exactly what hospitality is all about. The hotel is spotless and the quality of the food is amazing. We had breakfast and dinner I would 100 percent recommend this hotel. We can’t wait to return.

What a great hotel. LOVED IT!

LOVED this hotel so much I returned on the same trip for two more nights.
The rooms were fab, individually designed, clean, with fab bathrooms. Not at all noisy, even in the road side rooms. Lots of lovely staff. Well designed exterior areas, although I wasn't keen on the white loungers (personal preference). Only negative was the pricey parking. It is possible topar very close for a third of the price.
Oh, also in an amazing location and extremely close to the village and all the amenities.

Superb modern hotel within easy walking distance of the town’s attractions. The bedroom was very well equipped and the king size bed was fabulously comfortable. As we had torrential rain during our stay, we were glad of indoor garage. But for the rain, we would probably have tried one of the many nearby restaurants as the hotel only has a limited choice cafeteria but the food and service were excellent and very modestly priced. Breakfast was copious and delicious. We will return!

A real gem in Santillana

Good location, excellent welcome. Room was large and the pool and outside bar area were very relaxing. Very good breakfast buffet but the best impression came from the superb staff who were all really friendly, helpful and actually looked as though they enjoyed their jobs. Easy walk into town

A beautiful hotel.

An amazing stay. We only booked one night as we were travelling on the ferry back to the uk the following day. The hotel was so lovely and the staff were very welcoming. We had cocktails and wine in the lovely garden when we arrived. A lovely place to sit. Breakfast the following morning was the best we had during our trip to Spain. We will definitely stay again. Oasis in a busy town

We stay at this hotel a few times a year. Needless to say we stay here because we love this hotel. The staff is absolutely amazing, welcoming and warm. Each stay feels like coming to visit really close friends. Hotel is clean, comfortable and beautifully appointed. Beds are super comfy which is a must for me. Great breakfast. This adult only hotel is exactly what we needed after a week of discovering the north of Spain. A boutique style exclusive with jacuzzi inside room to relax. Very clean, comfortable and breakfast was excellent and varied selection with choice to order eggs or french toast included in buffet. Highly recommend.

This was our second stay within a year. We came back because we absolutely love this property. The staff is what makes this property so special. The hotel itself is small, comfortable and beautiful. Everything is completely comfortable and too of the line. Should be a 5 star hotel. Nothing else compares i to this property in Santillana Del Mar. Book and don’t hesitate. You will not regret a moment of your stay at this hotel.

We had a fabulous stay at hotel Cuevas in Santillana del Mar. The front desc staff and the staff throughout the hotel was very friendly and helpful. They anticipated our every need providing warm blanket to sit outside in the cool evening to making gluten free bread for breakfast. Ivan was exceptionally friendly and we enjoyed conversing with him.
The hotel is beautiful inside and out. The room is modern and the beds are very comfortable. You will need for nothing at this hotel.
Additionally hotel in within a stone throw away from the historic part of the village of Santillana del Mar. If you feel like exploring further the hotel offers free bikes. We would defiantly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful newly renovated hotel, we loved the wall covered with vegitation. The room was very clean and had everything you need, comfortable bed and very big bathroom. Hotel is a few minutes walk from old town. The receptionist helped us to make dinner reservation to a recommended restaurant, breakfast was good and on checkout we were given a bag with water and cookies \"for the road\". We had a wonderful stay and will definatly stay again.

Hotel Cuevas was our standout hotel experience of our trip to Spain in July. The service was excellent, staff were so friendly and welcoming. The hotel decor is just stunning and quirky which is refreshing. The outdoor pool area and bar in the converted VW were gorgeous. We loved the welcome drink on check in and loved the travel bags to take for our onwards journey, very thoughtful and appreciated. We recommend this hotel highly and only wish we had stayed longer.

Fantastic stay, twice visited, planning a third

I stayed here whilst on a business trip, I found the hotel by chance as previously I had stayed in Torrelavega. A few weeks later I stayed again, they knew me as I walked in by name, and the staff in the restaurant remembered me aswell. Not to mention being given a gift when I left, a couple of bottles of water and some chocolate biscuits, in a hotel branded bag. I have stayed in hundreds and hundreds of hotels from premier inns, to Hilton’s and Marriotts. This by far was the most personal experience, and is the first hotel I have thought to myself, ‘I will be bringing my partner here’. And that is exactly what I’m planning to do. I cannot give the hotel more praise.

Wonderful hotel

Hotel Cuevas is a modern, minimalist, elegantly furnished hotel. The hotel staff goes above an beyond to serve its clients. The restaurant food was great. Though we did not used the outdoor facilities they look impressive. It’s a few steps from the Santillana Del Mar shopping area and 3 min drive to Altamira Museum. We really enjoyed two days there and would love to return soon!

Great location and hotel. The services were excellent. Bed was super comfy and the balcony was perfect.

It is only 5 min walk to the centre of the old town with loads of great restaurant.

The staff were great! Especially loved the free hot drinks and sangria in the evenings!

The Hotel Cuevas is the perfect location to spend time in the beautiful and historic town of Santillana del Mar and to visit the Cantabrian countryside and coastline. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful pool and garden area with quirky VW camper bar, hot tub was a plus after a long day walking. Hotel served delicious bar menu and breakfast freshly prepared every morning. Can't forget to mention the unbelievably comfy bed. Highly recommend this modern hotel set in a very traditional Cantabrian town.

Una auténtica joya en Santillana del Mar



La experiencia en el Hotel Cuevas ha sido excelente. Las habitaciones son modernas, muy amplias, limpias y especialmente cómodas, con una decoración cuidada al detalle.

Las instalaciones del hotel son simplemente deliciosas: la piscina, el jacuzzi exterior y la sorprendente casa del árbol con zona de relax crean un ambiente perfecto para desconectar. Se nota el mimo con el que está pensado cada espacio.

El trato del personal ha sido exquisito, tanto en recepción como en el bar de la piscina, siempre atentos y amables, cuidando cada detalle para que te sientas como en casa.

Además, la ubicación es perfecta: a un paso del centro histórico de Santillana del Mar, ideal para visitar la Colegiata y perderse por sus calles empedradas. ¡Totalmente recomendable y con ganas de repetir!

Para repetir una y mil veces.

Para una experiencia en pareja es el hotel ideal. La localización me parece idónea, no está en el centro donde la aglomeración, pero estás a un paso del mismo. Servicio atento, educado y muy eficaz. La habitación (con jacuzzi) está muy bien decorado y es muy funcional. El detalle del concierto de arpa fue inolvidable.
Todo genial, nos ha encantado la zona y el hotel, seguro que repetiremos.
