Very disappointing stay… Hotel overcrowded. The breakfast area was extremely busy, to the point that we had to sit in a separate dining area.

On Saturday afternoon at 13:00, we requested water to be delivered to our room. When we returned after 22:00 that evening, the water had still not been delivered.

At the same time (13:00), we requested a plug adaptor for the hairdryer, as the only plug point near a mirror is a 3-point plug while the hairdryer is 2-point. Up until now, no plug has been brought to the room.

In addition, the curtains in the room are not properly hooked. Very untidy for a 5 star place.
No porters assisting with luggage.

The facilities were clean but it’s outdated. The furniture in my room were worn and need replacing. The walls had marks on them in some areas too. It’s not a bad option but I feel it’s overpriced for the condition of the furniture

I arrived after dark and was happy to have a clean quiet room, and in hotel restaurant. The bar was quiet and not staffed, given this was off season this was staffed lighter than may have been during busier times of the year. Light renovations were ongoing to improve the building non impacted me. Wish I had arrived in day light to better know my surroundings. Great location near the beach and beach restaurant. Pool overlooking the ocean was nice, too windy to enjoy. The food at dinner and breakfast was good and room comfortable. Staff was great to coordinate airport pickup/dropoff.

The worst stay ever at a Radisson Blue.

Foul smelling water dripping from the vent in the room and no water for a day (the only place in the area so it wasn’t widespread). We were moved to another sea facing room and there was a cockroach. Other people in our party also had cockroaches in their rooms - the rooms are dirty.

The restaurant would not give the bar ice cream to make dom pedros that we asked for (it’s the same premise) so we went to Mac Donalds and the bar staff made them for us.

THERE IS NO SERVICE OR INTEREST WHEN YOU STAY HERE

This hotel should not have the Radisson name. Radisson WAS my preferred hotel but no longer after this stay

Our check-in was easy and seamless, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. However, our room was unacceptably warm for most of the evening, despite a technician confirming that everything was in working order. The walls of the bathroom were also alarmingly dirty in a few spots. There was also no printed information of any sort in the room that we could find-no area guides, no information about hotel services or amenities, or anything else. We tried the dedicated channel on the tv for that information as well, but didn’t find it there either.

The service was impeccable. The staff greeted me by name before even providing my booking. Throughout the stay staff were friendly and helpful. The views are gorgeous .Slight improvement could be made such as placing the curtain on the opposite side to maximise the view and having a square toilet seat on a square toilet. Would recommend.

Not usual standard of a Radisson.

The photos of this hotel make it look far better than in person to be honest! There were signs in the lift advising of 'soft refurbishment' being undertaken which would have been helpful to know upon making the reservation. Not what we expect from the Radisson brand.

The photo shown of the bar area is not what we saw - there was a make-shift bar in the corner and a large area with no furniture in so we can only assume that they had ripped out the main bar as part of the refurb. It was very odd and looked a bit abandoned/empty so not a comfortable or relaxing environment to spend an evening in.

We booked top of the range suite. Room was nice and spacious. The room felt like it was empty, all the caboards in the kitchenette was empty, not a glass, bowl, cup or spoon. The bedroom door was broken and could not close. I had to put a pillow infront of the door as my husband was still working in the living room. Only one bathrobe in the room. Water was brown and was hard to believe you can bath in it. Window was broken and could not proper close. Bath tab water pressure was so slow the water got cold as you waiting for the bath the fill up.

My recent 9-night stay at the hotel from 24 December 2024 to 2 January 2025 left much to be desired due to several service issues. Housekeeping repeatedly failed to replenish water bottles during room freshening, requiring me to call for water up to four times on multiple days. This is a basic standard that was glaringly overlooked.

Breakfast service was chaotic throughout the stay, with numerous complaints from guests about lost seating and the restaurant being unprepared for the number of bookings. This disorganization was evident every morning and detracted from the experience.

The room itself showed a lack of quality control. Curtains were falling, requiring maintenance to address the issue only after we had settled in. Additionally, the gym toilets were not cleaned during our stay, and no clear instructions were provided at check-in on how to access the gym smoothly.

Other disappointments included the children’s TV service, which was unavailable for the first two days, further highlighting the poor service standards. Despite these issues, I must commend the chefs for their excellent food quality and culinary expertise. However, the service staff’s inefficiency undermined the efforts of the kitchen team.

Overall, the poor service and lack of attention to detail made for a frustrating experience, overshadowing the positive aspects of our stay.

spent an overnight stay here and the place was super clean , there was a vast selection at breakfast and despite arriving late we were still able to get food from the room-service menu

I stayed in this hotel two years ago and it was perfect. I was disappointed this time around as it seems that everything, including the service, has deteriorated over the last couple of years. No more complementary sparking wine upon arrival, seating in the dining room and bar areas were worn and dirty, windows were malfunctioning, hairdryer was old and functioning poorly, shower had stains, service was slow. Not worth the money in my view.

What an awful experience, the service and standards are not anything I’ve known about this establishment. From security levels where lifts were not working or had access to anyone. The fire alarm going off in the middle of the night endlessly which increased my anxieties and stress levels ended up cancelling my meetings as I was sleep deprived and worried for my safety. I am not sure about returning at this stage it was such an utterly bad experience.

Guy who checked me in was clueless, this Morning from 8am the room next door to me sounded like a construction site, with no common courtesy checking with the surrounding guest if it’s okay for the maintenance team to be making such a disturbing noise. When bringing up with reception the lady was not interested at all. Just said sorry she wasn’t aware.

Check in experience was not good. Had booked 4 rooms total. Was told I only had 2 rooms. Front desk did not do anything to solve the problem and totally dismissed the fact that I had confirmation numbers. They were even rude to the hotels.com staff that tried to contact the hotel to resolve the issue. Hotels.com staff was even hung up on. It took several phone calls to resolve it. Meanwhile my traveling party sat in a cold reception area freezing until it could be resolved. Many of the lights did not work in the rooms once we got to the rooms. One room did not have running water. Some plugs did not work. The elevators were very slow and not conducive to accommodate a hotel that size or the amount of people staying there. The fire escapes and stairwells were in horrible condition. Most were blocked or had looked as though homeless people were living in the stair wells. Half eaten food and trash were littering the stairs. Ropes and poles were blocking access to one of the floors. Doors were locked. Basically if there was a fire many people would have died. The building is a death trap. The amenities were not 5 stars. And definitely you do not get what you pay for. I will say thought the staff in the restaurant was accommodating on a very late night. And the security guard was very friendly. The hotel is refunding a one nights stay because we had to check out early.

It was not so pleasant as there was an electricity issue in the area their generator was not working well and some plugs, air conditioners and Tv were not working and on top of that they arenot doing anything to apologise to us as guests who paid full price for poor service and ny room was not cleaned and when i reported it was not taken serious instead trying to find a way to blame me. Management is needs to improve and also communicating with their guests.

it was our first break in over 2 years and we were highly excited to be coming to Gqeberha and to stay at our favourite hotel in Gqeberha The wonderful Raddison Blu.
OMG this hotel is so poorly run compared to our last stay, the reception was luke warm, the room was grubby and the door stuck, we were accused of keeping an iron that we used which in fact we had put back outside our room as instructed, the breakfast area was shocking, we arrived each day around 9:30 and there was no cleaning done on the floors, every day we had to clean our seats and surrounding floor area from the mess, the tables were not cleaned thoroughly and the floor managers never greet their guests, there is no sense of a warm environment any more as all the personality has been removed from the breakfast experience we expected, we can see that there is a lot of work experience employee's which is great but they need much better training as we are paying guests not a training school, as example we saw a youngster flipping eggs using her fingers OMG, another youngster cleaning the foor was just going through the motions and not really paying attention, basically this Raddison is devoid of good management and supervision character and warmth I could go but overall if this hotel is a mess and is by far, by far the worst Radisson we have ever used.

I would expect that the Radisson Blu Hotel will live up to its brand name but unfortunately not. The staff were amazing but the room itself. Booked for a superior room but was given a standard room, not even a couch chair to sit on. Only 1 pillow on the bed and hairdryer was broken with wires exposed to shock a person. Tv remote didn't work, housekeeping could not resolve so was told to manually change channels and volume. Requested for another iron as the 1st one didn't work as well.

Good day

to begin with, I was given a room where the basin was damaged, the water hole would not open for the water to go down the drain, the telephone was not working, therefore you could not call reception, the tv reception was distorted. They responded by stating that they would send a maintenance to sort the issues out, we waited from 15h00 to 19h00 for the maintenance guy taking into consideration that we could not use the basin as a pool would have been created considering the drain hole wouldn't open.

We must for an upgrade and was put into a bigger and better room only for the TV remote not to work. That was sorted eventually.
