This Motel 6 is exemplary of a clean, comfortable and affordable motel. I highly recommend without hesitation. My previous trip to this particular motel found me leaving an item in the room. Their staff kindly boxed it up and sent it to me. Really outstanding service.

Unless you're a smoker stay away! The rooms are so heavy with old cigarette smell that everything you own will smell like cigarettes within a few minutes. The property exterior grounds are in very sad shape and the entire property needs an overhaul. It is what it is but I couldn't take the smell and ended up going across the street within hours of checking in. I was getting physically ill from the old cigarette smell.

Probably the most cleanest M6 I ever been. The room was freezing cold but easy to use the air conditioning. Room with a nice perfume and not the classical smell you can find in other hotels where the air con is always on. Surely I’ll get back there my next time in the area.

There were two good things about this property: first, the staff I interacted with were very polite. Second, I listened to a podcast about people who had died in Joshua Tree, and it turns out that one of them stayed at this hotel the night before his death, so that engaged me with the show! Otherwise, this is a disaster of a property, and I’m kind of surprised it’s still open, starting with the cockroach that ran across the lobby the very first minute that I walked in. It needs much more than a simple remodel, it needs a full gut.

They don't clean the rooms every day when you're in them. They probably did it one time with me.And that was all. They don't really scrubbing any of the toilets change any of the sheets or change the trash I was there for about five days .

Yes , you could ask the staff to do it , but why do I have to ask them.

They do have water and coffee downstairs If you want it . besides that they don't have anything. There is no breakfast , so don't think about that. But you know what , though it's good for the price. So i'm happy with that. If it keeps the price down low good.

We spent 5 nights at Motel 6 in 29 Palms. PRO'S:
The staff was absolutely wonderful and helpful.
The maintenance man fixed 3 issues we were having as soon as we let the front desk know we were having issues.
Air conditioning worked great.
Beds were clean and comfortable.
Shower worked great.
CON'S:
The grounds were not very clean.
The floor in our room was not clean.
The room in general could have used a good cleaning.

Room was run down and scuzzy, small flying bugs coming out of the bathroom sink. Towels were stained or unwashed- one had hairs stuck in it, several more had stains or smudges, and all of them attracted the bugs from the sink. Neighbors were loud, playing music all night, and it seems like a bunch of people live here vs just staying for a night or two. Swing lock was broken (found this out when we tried to open the door after using it and it was stuck) and the door looked like it had been broken into before. We survived and don't seem to have picked up any bugs in our luggage, but if we hadn't prepaid before we arrived, we definitely wouldn't have stayed here.

I arrived at 2:40 PM, and was told that I would be charged an early arrival fee because I didn't wait until 3:00 PM. No apology for their \"requirement\", no suggestion to grab a meal before checking in. The \"manager on staff\" seemed inconvenienced that I arrived. My first interaction with the people of Twentynine Palms, and it colored my whole experience in this city. Wouldn't stay at this motel again on a bet.

First...young lady at the front desk was amazing! So nice and helpful. Made check-in a breeze. Parking right in front of our room for free. Room had AC, a fridge and microwave. Price was fair. I give it a 4 overall as I'm reviewing at the level of hotel that this is. Problems with the room - biggest was it had 1 plug socket available behind the TV for the whole room to use - phones, laptops, etc and none near the beds. That was a problem, especially nowadays with all the tech. The TV only worked manually and you needed to figure that out. Light between the beds was broken...button pushed in to nowhere. All that being said, we booked it moments before needing it so that was a bonus.

The property is very run down and you can tell the locals use ir as a party or long term stay location. Terrible water pressure and water wouldn't stay hot. Beds were VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. Would never stay here again. We booked this as a rest/recover spot after exploring Joshua Tree and was so very disappointed that we couldn't get the rest we needed to enjoy our trip.

Two live roaches found in the room, and we only stayed one night. The room layout was very strange and inconvenient, and my husband (5’10”) could not stand up in the shower because the shower head was too low.

The room was absolutely disgusting, dirt and grime everywhere the floors were sticky and behind the bed was filthy with grey stuff, the air conditioner was peeling and falling apart, we had to carry our 75 lb bags up 3 flights of stairs because the elevator was down. There were people doing drugs and being sketchy and to top it off the manager was so extremely rude. I will never be coming here again. We had originally planned to stay for 4 nights and got out the next morning because of how bad it was annd how unsafe it we felt. Also the bed was so uncomfortable sleeping on the floor would’ve been better. There were no blankets just sheets. And the door didn’t latch all the way, we had a hard time opening it and a very hard time getting it to close and lock. We spent about 25 minutes trying to open the door, and the manager was so rude and nasty. Do not book with the motel!! By far the worst experience I’ve ever had in a motel.

This motel is a solid option if you’re visiting Joshua Tree and just need a place to sleep at night. The location is convenient and fairly central, and it’s especially close to the North Entrance of Joshua Tree National Park, making it easy to get in and out of the park and explore the surrounding area.

That said, it’s definitely on the more basic side—don’t expect any frills. The room felt a bit older, but it was clean and had everything we needed for a short stay. One thing to note is that the room did have a slight cigarette smoke smell despite being a non-smoking room. It didn’t bother us too much since we were only there for one night, but it could be an issue for those traveling with small children or anyone with respiratory sensitivities.

If you’re planning to spend most of your time out exploring and just want a simple, reasonably priced place to come back to, this is a good option compared to others in the area.

We wanted to like this Motel 6 - price, location near Joshua Tree National Park. The condition of the property just would not permit this unfortunately. We had to wipe down surfaces before placing our things on them. The bathtub looked like someone had been cooking meth in it! The MASSIVE cockroaches we killed were the final straw.

We recommend spending a few extra dollars and staying elsewhere.

Motel 6 has a reputation for being a trashy motel. But, the photos looked much improved so I thought, \"maybe they're rebranding.\" Here's the honest truth: no room ever looks as good as the photos. That said, I was really impressed by how decent the room was and how much I felt Motel 6 had stepped up their game. So, inside the room, my expectations were exceeded. Outside the room, the exterior of the hotel and the additional clientele were still on parr with the less-than-savory reputation. Also, our second night there, I flipped the switch and the lights went out. I'm guessing a fuse. They had no one to fix it. So, they gave us another room with no additional compensation. Obviously, it would have been worse if they hadn't even given us another room. Even so, it was still really inconvenient to have to pack all our stuff up, move to another room, and unpack it all again.

When we first were assigned our room and entered, it was obvious that the room had been smoked in. We went back to the lobby and asked to be assigned a non-smoking room. When we went in our new room assignment, the room did not smell as bad, and had an air freshener.

The bed in the room was set up on a frame, and had a cover, but the pillows did not have covers on them (not to be confused with pillowcases, which were present). We ended up going to Walmart and getting cheap pillows instead.

The floors were a little sticky, but were swept clean.

There aren't many hotel options in the Joshua Tree / Twentynine Palms area, so this had to do. It fits the definition of a budget hotel.

I recently stayed at Motel 6 and wanted to share my experience. Overall, I have stayed at this location multiple times and have usually had positive interactions with the staff.

Caren has always greeted me with respect and courteous service. She is consistently pleasant and professional, and it makes check-in a smooth and welcoming experience every time. Sara is also wonderful. Whenever I stay overnight, she checks in to see if I need anything and is always kind, helpful, and a joy to interact with.

Unfortunately, my interaction with the manager, Emilio, was very different. He came across as extremely rude and unfriendly. Hospitality is a customer-facing role, and the way guests are greeted sets the tone for their entire stay. His demeanor was not welcoming and did not reflect the level of customer service I have come to expect from this location.

I appreciate the excellent service from Caren and Sara, but I hope management addresses how guests are treated so that all visitors receive the same respectful and friendly experience.
