I loved the Harmony Motel! It was a home away from home. The pool was lovely and very cold even if the temperature was 105 degrees outside and nice and cool inside the room. I got to check in a little early which is always great. Ash, you are a special lady! Your kindness goes above

Quite rustic by my standards: polyester sheets & comforter, outdoor patio-type light in bathroom w one plug in its base as only bathroom outlet, except for rubber mat shower floor felt slippery/film, old and less-than-efficient window unit as only AC. Unit was clean though and kitchen was functional for sure. Small fridge even had a frozen ice cube tray.

To be fair, 29 Palms is not exactly a town of lux accommodations, but still…

We were a little early from our drive from Las Vegas so we thought we'd try to see if our room was available and it was!! Check in was easy and the woman at the front desk (sorry, I didn't catch her name!) was friendly and accomodating. Our room was spacious and the kitchen was equipped with pretty much everything one would need for a short trip. I was especially thankful for the large fan since I like to sleep with one and plus it was cold at night (but hot through the day) where we only needed the fan. Check out was easy too - I just texted that we were leaving and left the keys in the room. Overall, we had a very nice stay.

Really engaged owner and cool gift shop with local crafts and books. Of course, U2 stayed here years ago and its rustic desert charm still exists. Beds are firm and great for sleeping but you’ll want to wake up early for the sunrise view.

Poor cleanliness - toilet not cleaned, hair in the shover, food from previous guests left in the fridge.

The water in the bathroom only ever got warm (not hot) and the water in the kitchen for dishes only ever cold (never even warm).

The bed was comfy and the heating worked well, kept the room warm during the night.
But no blanket on the bed, just a bed spread. Hair on the bed between the fitted and flat sheet.

No complimentary tea or coffee.

The motel itself overall has a cool vibe, the outdoor area is nice. It is a shame some of the basics and hospitality are missing.

Classic old school motel experience. large rooms with kitchenettes, vaulted ceilings, yet enough vintage \"vibe\" to make the stay unique. Best feature is the large jacuzzi amidst the lovely manicured courtyard, perfect for stargazing. Great amenable host who looks after each guest personally. A welcome reprieve from the Airbnb \"same town\" experience so much of Joshua Tree has become. Can't wait to stay here again!

This is a classic example of you get what you pay for…so to be fair the stay was very reasonable. However, they really need to upgrade the bed linens…it was kind of like sleeping at someone’s grandmothers house.
To me the bedding needs to be of “Hotel” quality. The comforter was also very stained…. In addition where she had us pull our car around to the back required a 4x4 vehicle. I think she had spots up front if you had a car. She is all business and not very welcoming. All of the windows were also open when we arrived…the room did have a musty smell to it. It was cold outside so there was really no reason to have the windows open. But overall it was just OK.

Very nice place to stay while visiting Joshua Tree National Park. Check-in was easy and the staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable and we really enjoyed having the full kitchen.

Was a well maintained older hotel. The outside property area was well done. Enjoyed the sitting area in front of our room. I also liked it had a kitchen area. We had a few issues. The first was they did not have hot water hooked up in the kitchen. Hard to do the dishes correctly without hot water. The Hot tub was just warm water, would have liked it to have been hotter. I also wish there would have been an Ice machine. That said I would stay there again.

Ash, the manager (owner?) was so friendly and accommodating. Very 60’s vibe, old fashion motels reminded me of my childhood. The room was very clean, simple decor (liked the wall colors) compatible with bed linens (loved the breathable quilt bedspread) and the beds were comfortable. Great pricing for the area as well. Table and chairs outside each room to drink a glass of your own wine and taking in the views.

We enjoyed the fun and creative design of the property overall and the unique rooms. The view from our patio was beautiful. We felt a bit away-from-it-all even although it was just off the main road. The motel is close to the North entrance to Joshua Tree National Park which usually has much shorter line at the entrance at the west side of the park.

Good little spot just off the main hwy. Owner/front desk very nice and had paperwork ready when we arrived to check in. Basic motel but everything was neat and clean. Full kitchen but we only used the fridge. I would have given higher score but AC was loud and not adjustable. It was either all the way on or all the way off. Overall a good place to stay.

I love the garden and the fact that you can get a kitchenette. There is a supermarket nearby, and it is very close to the North Entrance to Joshua Tree.

During my recent stay at the Harmony Motel in 29 Palms, charm and the need for maintenance defined my experience. The motel's nostalgic ambiance initially appealed to me, yet it needed some care. The assistant manager was friendly at check-in, even preparing the air conditioner. However, she left the windows open, causing the room to be excessively warm until late at night. The next morning, she confused us by asking if we were staying another night, despite our prepayment for three nights. A day before departure, the housekeeper entered without knocking, apologized, and left. I confirmed it was a mistake and later received an apology from the assistant manager. Our spacious room had a kitchen with a stove, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, and utensils. Mostly clean, but the kitchen walls and floor needed a thorough cleaning, and dead bugs were present. The small bathroom lacked hooks. The bed was fairly comfortable, but the pillows were old and flat. The window air conditioner struggled during hot periods, and Wi-Fi was extremely slow.
The motel grounds were charming but neglected: scattered leaves, broken pathway lights, an uninviting pool area with a makeshift fence, dirty furniture, and cloudy water with debris. Check-out involved stripping bedding and texting an unknown number, which felt inconvenient. Despite these issues, the motel was quiet and comfortable with its proximity to Joshua Tree National Park, about 7 miles away, being an advantage.

Needs a remodel.

The gardens are lovely, and the place looks cute. When I first walked in to Room #6, it felt like I'd gone to visit Mamaw: the room is original to the early years of tourism and has the feel of an old house. In keeping with that old-timey theme, there are no electrical outlets except in the kitchen (I blew my hair dry in the kitchen!) and I couldn't use my c-Pap machine for sleeping. The bed is bad and the pillows are horrible. The bathroom is teensy-tiny; I'm a biggish woman, and I had to be careful not to damage my hip on the corner of the vanity sitting down to pee. The shower is large but had an odd memory foam kind of mat that seemed creepy to me. It's an oddly utilized space best suited for skinny men, seems to me.

I wanted to like this motel, but I couldn't wait to leave. I count it as an experience I don't have to repeat.

Small sofa in bedroom with multiple windows. Lovely mountain view. I was at end unit Number 6. Manager was friendly, courteous even when I came late after 10pm office closing hour. She gave helpful restaurant suggestions and even rescued essential equipment I left behind, running to my car. It was a much better experience than your average motel. Highly recommend.

Harmony Motel is an absolutely lovely motel, at a great rate. I stayed for a total of 3 nights, in two different rooms. It is situated slightly outside 29 Palms, a bit back from route 62. So there is probably a little less road noise than some of the others that are right on the highway. Every room faces the rising sun (not the highway), with their own patio space with table and chairs. They are spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the showers have more than adequate water pressure. The parking is close, and the owner was thoughtful in making my rooms accessible.

The first room had use of the shared kitchen, with its library (if you're a U2 fan, this is extra fun). It is stocked with plates and utensils, small pots, full fridge and freezer, microwave, and toaster over. Coffee maker. Anything you'd need while on the road. The second room had its own very spacious kitchen, with all the amenities. Including a stove.

The pool was comfortably cool to balance the blazing heat. The grounds are decorated tastefully in a way that feels like a mini-retreat. The only reason I gave 4 stars for the property is the rooms are a little dated, and some people may want something that looks top of the line. But if you appreciate the individuality of that era of motels, you'll love it. Literally no complaints. The owner is lovely. This is a GREAT value. I will come back whenever I go to Joshua Tree NP!

The motel is exactly what you would expect from the website and Expedia website. The room we stayed in was large with an attached kitchen. Everything was clean. Even tho it was a \"full\" kitchen, the frig was small. There was a coffee pot but no coffee or filters. The bathroom was small, shower decent, little packets of shampoo and conditioner. Location is close to the Oasis entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. There is a hot tub and pool but we didn't use either. Expedia reservation said we could check in by 10pm. We were driving from Ventura and wasn't sure with traffic, if we would get there in time. I called the motel to let them know. The owner/manager said she was a small motel and was only staying open to 930pm. Fortunately we got there by 9pm. I don't know what would have happened if we were late. Would she have offered to leave a key for us? She's in the hospitality business so a little more hospitality would have been appreciated

We stayed one night at Harmony Motel to attend a concert at Pappy & Harriet’s in nearby Pioneer Town. The room was clean, simple and nice. It as an adorable desert bungalow feeling on the exterior. There was a pool & jacuzzi that looked in good condition but we didn’t bring swimwear to try out ( plus it was cold at night).

It was quiet and private only a couple of units on the motel property ( about 6). The king bedroom had a nice small kitchen in the joining room with full sink, small fridge stove / oven and kitchen table. We didn’t need to fix food for overnight but it looked to be kept up clean and
was a nice option. It had AC & a wall furnace for heat. It was cool at night so we had the little heater on. A great stay overall I’d recommended it to friends & chose to stay there again if I was going to Joshua Tree area.

It turned very cold for California and the room didnt have enough heat to keep us warm. So bad I got up and turned the oven on and sat in the large kitchen. The vaulted view was broken down wood fences and corrugated tin panels.

This is a no frills place. It's fine for one night, but I wouldn't recommend longer stays. It could use some major updating. The outside furniture is in major need of attention. The mattress feels old and worn. But, it was clean(ish) and the room was a decent size. An easy drive into Joshua Tree. The motel is short staffed, so the owner seems to be wearing many hats. Pool and hot tub are still closed, unfortunately. The most concerning aspect of our stay here is that someone used my credit card number to make unauthorized purchases right after I had used it to check in. That has not been fun to deal with.

Loved staying here for a quick overnight. My partner and I attended an event in 29 Palms and the Harmony was the perfect fit. We loved how quiet the property was, the pool was right in front of our room and we had it to ourselves for the afternoon. The owner was right on the property and made us feel welcomed.

This motel has no extra bells and whistles, but we were happy to support a small independently owned business and it was perfect for what we were looking for. Also, after looking at the site, we saw that U2 stayed here while recording their album \"Joshua Tree\"?!

Good enough for Bono, good enough for us. Thanks!

We reserved a room at Harmony minutes after completing a 6 day backpacking trip in Joshua Tree. The place is convenient, clean, cute and had everything we needed at a very affordable price. Plus U2 stayed there, how cool! Support small business, stay at the Harmony Motel!

Awesome unique historic hotel close to Joshua Tree

Quaint historic charming six room motel close and in between two convenient Joshua Tree entrances. Lovely landscaped grounds with lots of unique touches and warm lighting at night. A lot of thought and creativity has gone into the landscape and the rooms. Rooms are large and nicely decorated. Awesome and well furnished kitchen space and spacious hot shower. You may have to let the water run for a bit if it has not been used in awhile but it was not an issue for us after the first time. The hot and cold on our faucets were opposite and once we figured that our after initially getting hot water in the pipes it was only a couple of minutes. We had two comfortable full size beds. There was a bit of traffic noise but not so much that it affected our sleep or enjoyment. Two nice comfy outdoor chairs and mosaic tiled table right outside your door where you can view the sunrise. Pool is closed for now. Owner is kind and helpful. She is very conscientious about keeping rooms cleaned and using good safety measures to protect patrons and herself from Covid. Lots of restaurants in Twentynine Palms but more farther away in Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley. The Twentynine Palms entrance to Joshua Tree Park is very close and most of our hikes were easy to access from this entrance. We loved staying here and highly recommend. U2 Stayed here when they were working on their Joshua Tree album. Cool!

Still a favorite, even if not as great as it was.

This is my 5th or 6th time staying here and I'll be back for more. It's such a great location and vibe.

Was very disappointed that the pool and hot tub were closed and I wasn't notified before arrival. Also, the community kitchen was locked so had to cook without lots of basics (salt, pepper, oil) that I wish had been provided in the room's kitchen.

The grounds still look great, even if the room could use a refresh (better pillows & towels, bigger TV, more outlets). WiFi worked well and giant bed was appreciated!

Harmony Motel great stay!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the harmony motel. The owner, Ash was very friendly and accommodating. The location was perfectly located right near the 29 palms entrance to Joshua tree and right down the road from a yummy spot for food, The Joshua Tree Saloon. Recommend for all!

Do not recommend

Do not recommend- had my wallet stolen when door was locked? Owner not willing to discuss said call the police if you have a problem. Road noise is awful
