For that price and name of Hotel we were expected better standards. Washrooms were awful. Outdated. Toilets didn’t flash fully. In bath tub we couldn’t close pug for bathing a child: shower didn’t work fully either.
What a disappointment and waste of money!

Everything about the room was excellent, service at the front desk was great as well as the restaurant in the evening. The breakfast service was poor at best, only one waitress who was constantly apologizing for the slow service as she was alone, we ordered pancakes as they looked appetizing. Poor choice as they were uneatable. The waitress did remove them from our bill but not the point as we were then out of time and still hungry. Did not like the breakfast service.

We arrived at the hotel around 9:30 pm after a 2-hour long drive through a torrential rainstorm. We were tired and stressed out. There was a line to check in and only one employee working the front desk but she was incredibly efficient and we only waited a couple of minutes. Our room was spacious, clean and really well laid-out. We asked for a late check out (1:00 pm) was which accommodated. We loved the grab and go breakfast bags in fridge next to the check in desk and thought they were a good value at $8.95. While we didn’t use the hotel shuttle, it appeared to be well run and very reliable. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Great for a quick stay over. However the rooms (on the 5th floor at least) are PAPER THIN! I could hear the guest in next room every word he said, every snore, everything. So I’m sure he could hear me. Made me feel uneasy and no privacy. Thankfully it was one night quick stay over. Loved the shuttle amenity. Great Uber eats availability, even in snowy weather late at night ✅

I arrived at the hotel around 1:30 am. There were several people stood around, seated at tables and two sleeping on a couch. The internet was down and people had been waiting for 2 hours to check in. I was told by those already waiting it could be 5 am before we could be checked in.

The gentleman at the front desk handled the situation with professionalism. He answered questions as best he could and worked diligently to manually check people in.

Manual check-in involved checking digital reservations, copying numbers down, running off to physically confirm that a room was available, photocopying ID & credit card information and then escorting people to rooms and letting them in with his master key.

He was apologetic and while he could not do anything more than he was doing, I was astounded that other employees were not called in to help with this process.

It was after 3:30 am when I finally was able to access my room and was given a $30 discount.

Gentleman on duty (I’m sorry I didn’t get his name) was an absolute rockstar! The property itself has fallen short for me 2 out of 3 stays.

If I can help it, I won’t stay here again.

We arrived at 1:00pm and thought we would get lunch at the hotel. Their restaurant/bar were closed until 5. We were woken at 11:30pm that night with a fire alarm. We had smelt a sewer smell in the hallway all day and reported it. I called about the fire alarm and was told I could stay in my room because it only went off due to someone lighting a cigarette in the men's bathroom. Would not recommend this hotel.

Everything was great except for the bathroom. The tiling looked like it was slapped on by an 8 year old.
The shower didn’t totally turn on. Half the water was still coming out of the tap.
I often wonder if people who don’t book through the hotel get inferior rooms.
Bed was very comfy and the TV was huge, and carried all the sports stations we were looking for.
Staff was very friendly.

Overall good stay before and after our trip south. Hotel offers free crib which is great but it’s very old and made of metal which scared my baby was going to hit his head and it took the staff awhile to show up with the crib. They could use with upgrading to a play pen.

My kids had a blast in the pool. It was a little on the smaller side, but nevertheless still fun. Breakfast buffet was so good. They had a little bit of everything and was always full stocked. The staff were all amazing and so kind. We absolutely enjoyed our stay. And next time we are in Halifax, we will for sure be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn

We stayed here before and had a great experience. Location is great and rooms are clean and comfortable. Last night however, was a regrettable experience for which we will not return.

Our room had no hot water in the tub. An issue that can happen anywhere, but the manner in which it was dealt with by the lady at the front desk was appalling.

We were told to run the tub for 15 minutes. When we returned to the front desk to say the problem was not yet resolved, she was on the phone and still had yet to call maintenance. A cupón for breakfast was offered.

We were told there were no other rooms available, yet she was still checking in other customers. After being offered a room under construction for showering purposes, we declined and engaged Expedia.

The lady told Expedia that the issue was resolved. It was not. A vacant room was found and once again, it did not have hot water and we were told maintenance was not answering the phone.

There was some back and forth at the front desk with the lady who remained clipped, unapologetic and downright rude.

Between Expedia calling the location and a gentleman named Jae talking over, another room was found, albeit 2 hours later and we settled in after 12am.

We are grateful to Expedia (and Jai at the hotel) who helped find a solution. Jai was helpful, professional and apologetic for the situation.

The lady at the front desk could benefit from conflict resolution and problem solving skills. She is not the face of a Hilton.

Bad bad experience. Children running around. Followed by someone slamming a luggage cart into my door while I was sleeping. They left the cart there. Staff came up and removed the cart. And I was told to speak to the manager on check out. The Manager wasn't on that early so I was told they would call me Feb 16. No one called. I called on the 18th and spoke with a manager who said they would work with Expedia to start the refund process. I was told I would see the money on my account 3-4 days. 1 week later I called and spoke to a different manager who said they would look into it and call me the next day. They didn't. I called the next day and they said they were gone for the day and they would call me the next day. Next day I called and was told the manager would be in later and would call me as soon as they arrive. Surprise, they didn't. I called after waiting for over and hour and spoke with a manager. Who offered me 25% back and tried to offer me points. I want what was promised to me on Feb 18th, the full refund. I am waiting for a call back again.
Nice hotel, inconsiderate guests and incompetent managment.

Great little hotel with everything you need. The room we have was huge, since it’s a pet friendly hotel it would be great for dogs and there are also adjoining rooms available. The restaurant is good, the staff is great, though the small store they have is a bit understocked at times. But would recommend it for a brief airport stay using their shuttle, otherwise you will definitely need a car since it”s a good driving distance from the airport and nothing else is in the area.

The heating control was terrible. It was either stifling hot or really cold. As soon as the heat was turned down the fan blew icy air throughout the room. It was not possible to turn off the noisy fan and it kept me awake all night.
The bathroom is tired-looking with moldy grout in the shower but the soap, shampoo, towels were fine.
The restaurant (very expensive) is beside the main doors to the hotel which were constantly opening and closing so cold wind blew in and you had to wear a parka. We had to order takeout and take it to our room. The shuttle bus is nearly full from guests at other hotels before it arrives so you have to wait for several to come before you can take it to the airport. Since it only comes every half hour you could easily miss your flight.
