This was a place to sleep after a late flight for us. No interaction with staff. Room was very good, clean, quiet. Keurig coffee and a muffin and yougurt for breakfast. Would stay again.

We stayed at the Forth Lock the night before an early morning flight. The B&B is close to the airport and the Resturant is a great place to eat. The rooms are efficient and being able to have a nice dinner in the same building is a great feature. I can see us booking the whole "house" if we were doing something in Halifax.

Our 2-room unit was ready for us, however the bathtub had not been cleaned so was not usable, and the heating fan did not work in the main room so it was cold in one bedroom room and hot in the other. bedroom The beds weren't made up with a top sheet, only the duvet/comforter, which is not standard in a hotel or guest house. The restaurant food was delicious however.

I so wanted to leave 5 stars but the shower in our room, the William, was completely unadjustable. It was either scalding hot or freezing cold and no in between. Also the hair dryer did not work (tried in different outlets).

We stayed for 3 nights and found The Fourth Lock to be an excellent choice. We dined one night at the Fourth Lock restaurant and the meal was excellent at a reasonable price. Our host was very friendly and informative as well, giving us travel suggestions. A couple minor nit picks are the bed was a bit too soft and breakfast was not ideal for someone that can't eat much sugar. The view of the lake from the deck was very nice though the road was quite busy.

We were only advised by email on the day of arrival that the dining room closed due to an event. Our room was changed to the top floor, facing the front where a Wedding reception of extremely noisy music was blaring & people shouting until 12.30 am so not much sleep. The banister railing to our room Thomas was very loose & very steep stairs were dangerous as no landing at top of stairs. Breakfast was in fridge for the following morning of a bowl, with 2 apples, 1 orange & cereal bars. We emailed the website to complain & ask for a refund, no response.

Disappointing when there is no one to greet you when you show up and then get into the room with zero charm and a bed that is literally on the floor. 2 hour wait in the restaurant for guests and we were told to come back in 2 hours and when we returned we were told the kitchen was closed. Breakfast was already in the room and included a stale dry muffin and a rotten apple. Awful stay and overall experience.

The food was delicious and the restaurant's ambiance was wonderful with beautiful views of the lake. Fablous accomodation. We had a lovely room overlooking the water. The room had everything you needed and the communal area was really nice. We also used the restaurant and the food was really good. All the staff we came in contact with were so friendly and really helpful. Especially when we went to check in as we has a small hidcup but was soon resolved by 2 of the staff quickly .. i would highly recommended this place to anyone.

There was little to no sound proofing in the room and other guests were quite loud, we could hear full conversations late at night. We could also hear the sounds of the restaurant quite clearly below us. When the restaurant was busy, there was a sign for overflow parking nearby but there were no dedicated parking spots for people staying at the inn. We had to wait about 20 minutes until people from the restaurant left so we could have a parking spot close enough to load/unload our vehicle. Nice spot, very clean, overall enjoyed the stay

There is another suite upstairs from ours, and being a wood building, we could clearly hear the floor creak and thud when people were walking around. The room is nicely furnished, has a queen bed and is air-conditioned. The bed was way too soft from what we are used to, and I got a stiff neck in the morning. No closet in the room except for a small rack with a couple of hangers.
The common room has a fireplace, sofas, some books and board games. Nice view of the lake from the patio. Breakfast consists of muffins, fruits and granola bars, placed in a basket in the room. Coffee (K cups) is available in the common room.

This is a cute and unusual little place, conveniently located for Halifax airport. The instructions for self check in are very easy, the room is private and there is a little common living room area overlooking the lake, where you can make coffee at any time. The restaurant downstairs seems to be a very popular spot for locals and I ate a very tasty vegan meal there. I stayed here for two separate one night stays and the first night (a Tuesday), the restaurant was closed, but my second night was a Friday and the noise in the room from the restaurant was quite loud. The noise from the road is also very loud, unless you keep the window closed. There is a very large amount of traffic flowing past here and at times it is very difficult to get in and out of the driveway, which was surprising.
I stayed in the Lake William room, which does have a partial view of the lake. The room was clean, but the bed wasn’t super comfortable for me. Overall I would recommend here, especially if you are on a budget, as the price is decent.

We arrived for checkin as advised but the self checkin requires an access code that we had not been provided in advance. After a bit of creative research we tracked down the needed code. That should have been advised through Expedia. Otherwise all was good.

This was sold as a bed and breakfast and so our expectations were thar we woild have a reasonable breakfast. What we got was a small basket left in our room that had a muffin, an apple and several sugar-bssed snacks. This was not close enough to being a breakfast, in our opinion.
The sounds from the room above us were easily heard in our room and woke us early at about 7 am, which was long before we wished to be awake.

Nice spot. Privacy is kind of limited if you get the small room, because there isn’t space in the room to hang out so you end up using the common area. That area is nice, but you’re hanging out with other people potentially.
