Good location is all I have to say positively, advertised city view but no such window, looked at a wall. Old furniture falling apart, the only drawers had mold and dirty rags under the bottom drawer. Didn’t even unpack my suitcase! Old bar fridge on the floor and an old stained threadbare chair. No microwave and an crappy little coffee maker. Place needs major renovation or even replacement for better use of space. Might have a fancy name but I cannot advise people to pay what they’re charging for their rooms!! Pictures are available if one needs proof.

Decent clean rooms, and a great Tempo restaurant and lounge/ bar with amazing staff.
The fitness facility is incredibly warm, windows screwed shut, had to talk to manager a couple of times to get the air conditioning on, even then it’s a hard work out… fitness area is also quite dirty, one worn out mat, a very dusty dirty floor,easy to see not regularly cleaned and some days no towels available, despite being in there as soon as it opened and despite bringing this to management’s attention.
Also very frustrating is that our key cards needed to be swapped several times as they would cease allowing us room / gym entry, despite not being near our cell phones as management indicated might be the problems.
Elevators also not regularly cleaned and smelled bad.
We personally would not return, there are many other hotels to look into .

It was was freezing in our room the heat didn’t work we went out and when we got back to our room the floor was full of blue board someone came in our room did maintenance on the heat and didn’t bother cleaning the floor I complained the night manager came up and seen the mess and didnt get anyone to clean up the mess and he told me that he would do something for us in the morning I went down and they wouldn’t do anything about all of our laybacks they said that you guys had to do something about it and I told them that it didn’t have anything to do with you guys it’s them that screwed up and didn’t clean there mess but they still wouldn’t do anything for us I think we should of had our room at no charge worst experience ever will not be back

Rooms are very dated and worn down. Have a musty smell, with no heating/cooling in the rooms, and windows don’t open. Location is good, but getting from the parking garage to the hotel was like navigating a maze.

The staff are very friendly. The hotel is lovely. They do include a breakfast (not much for vegans except toast and fruit, but choices for non-vegans were plentiful). There is also a coffee shop in the lobby which is very convenient.

Air conditioning didn’t work. Room was too hot. Was advised that they didn’t have maintenance available. Had to pack all my things and move rooms at 11pm and the staff were not helpful at all. Location is great, and pedway access is good, but the hotel is run down and staff were not great to deal with.

You have to oark a block away from the hotel
The hotel requires a deposit that can only be paid with a credit card. No debit or virtual visa. The room was very expensive and very outdated. The furniture is old and the finish was coming off. The toilet didn’t flush properly. Not a good experience and I will not be back. I booked the room in December for $235/night but when I got there to pay for my reservation the price had gone up to $339/night.

The shower in my room would not adjust temperature (no cold water) or turn off once I turned it on. I had to leave by the time maintenance was able to come up. The AC in the room was also very noisy. I was able to get a refund for night #2.

I already file a complain about my terrible check in and the issue I had. They finish my bad experience when I checked out. I already asked for the Air port transportation on Friday and I confirmed the time and car size. I changed the time yesterday night after suffering to get the front desk understand my request and she finally confirmed. I confirmed the time and the car size this morning. Today at 11:30am when I’d didn’t see my car I checked with the front desk and they said the car is waiting for you. I said there is no SUV. They said the car is smallest sedan available Toyota Prius.
I refused the service as this is not what I request. I still insist that I need at least one night refund for all the issues I had with this hotel.
They can contact me if they want or Expedia should get me the refund.

Gym adequate with some broken things, very hot in there from sauna/pool.

Bedding very mediocre - polyester and no real duvet, just a dirty looking one covered by a sheet.

No cleaning services for rooms unless staying 4 and 5 nights.

Quiet and peaceful.

Excellent water pressure in the shower. Staff were efficient and professional. They handled everything promptly. The location is a major plus, with easy access to the waterfront and downtown Toronto.

Cons
The room itself needs improvement. The mattress was uneven, with a noticeable “sinkhole” in the middle that made for an uncomfortable sleep. Temperature control was inconsistent. We were either too cold with the system on or uncomfortably hot with it off, with no middle ground.

Soundproofing was extremely poor. We could clearly hear full conversations from the next room, including a detailed discussion about a cheating spouse and demands for them to move out. This wasn’t just muffled noise, it was clear enough to follow word-for-word, along with hallway conversations, which made it difficult to relax or sleep.

Furniture felt outdated, and some pieces didn’t function properly (e.g., drawers that wouldn’t close). Parking is paid and accessed through Scotia Square, which was difficult to find and unnecessarily complicated on arrival.

Overall
Fine for a quick overnight or business trip, but not ideal for a longer stay due to noise, comfort, and room condition issues.

The staff were very helpful, but there were mice running across the floor of the restaurant, the adjoining room doors had a big gap so it was very noisy, and there was black mold in the bathtub. It is an older building and I understand the difficulty in controlling these situations, but I probably wouldn’t stay again.

The rooms are dated but clean. No microwaves in the rooms and smaller than standard mini fridges make this place very inconvenient for a 4 night stay. My biggest annoyance was that the very limited gym was unbearably hot (well over 30 degrees celcius) and while maintenance did come to try to adress the heat it could not be fixed, and they were unable to open the windows or unlock the door to the terrace to let some cool April air in...
Also having no coffee in the lobby in the mornings is hugely inconvenient! The restaurant attached keeps inconvenient morning hours. Being unable to get coffee before 8am on site is frustrating and atypical in 2026.

Parking was difficult. A distance from hotel. Hotel room was a little noisy with the air conditioner. Had noisy neighbors from 0300 am till 0600. So got little sleep. Room was clean. Walking distance to restaurants and most tourist things to do.

Great location & the staff are fantastic. My room was sufficient but very dated and worn. The chair had spots so worn that the pattern/colour was non-existent. The floor lamp was broken (tbf I never informed them as there were other lights).
This is an old hotel but it doesn't have to look like it. A refresh of the rooms would do wonders!

Third time staying here. Its perfectly situated for restaurants, activities and the waterfront. Especially like the indoor walkway system that connects the hotel to Scotia Square (small mall with tims, mc ds etc) parking and waterfront. Clean rooms, well maintained pool and gym, friendly, helpful staff. Thanks!

The Good:
It was available on short notice after a fiasco I had at another hotel I had booked but they didn't have mu reservation.
Price was right given the short notice, location and what others nearby were charging.

The Bad:
The room has not been touched in literal decades. Awful flimsy furniture that looked like they got it from a second hand shop. old green carpet, terrible wall paper etc... You can just tell they have put $0 into improving the hotel since the 80s or whenever it was built. Could be much better but just is not.

As always, the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. They accommodated me when I asked for a later checkout time, and were able to answer my questions re: bus fare/times. It's really convenient to be able to catch the Airport Express bus on the other side of the street from the hotel and be taken (in a roundabout way) to the airport.

My room was spacious and had a view of the harbour and of the NSCAD building, but there was hair from someone else's stay on the shower wall and I noticed on my last day that the bedsheets had stains on them. Also there were a lot of extension cords just laying on the floor around the room; perhaps necessary because it's an old building and there aren't enough outlets, but it looks bad.

No parking. You have to carry your luggage through a mall and park in a parking garage a few blocks away.
My key cards wouldn't work all weekend. We would continously have to go to front desk for them to fix it.
Their rooms take you back in time to 1970. Very old.
No cleaners go to your room unless you stay for atleast 4 nights.
There is no free breakfast. You have to eat at the restaurant in the hotel.
Staff could have been more friendly and helpful.
Would never recommend this hotel.

Amazing old hotel. Room was huge. Front desk employee Simzan was excellent. I came down after seeing our room to let her know how amazing it room was and she moved us into the Princess Suite that was absolutely incredible. Loved this hotel and look forward to staying again.

A little cheaper than some of the other hotels in Downtown Halifax. No parking on site means you have to park & walk across the road using a Pedway indoors. Medway also takes directly to the Casino & harbor front. Boston Pizza located one minute walk indoors, plus a restaurant & food court 2 minutes walk indoors as well.No free breakfast however. Clean rooms but not entirely soundproof, & the swimming pool isn't heated. Staff is wonderful. Make sure to get your parking ticket stamped at the hotel front desk if your parking at the Scotia Centre.

I appreciate this is an aging hotel and it's been 5 years since I stayed here previously but absolutely nothing has been done and it was showing it's age 5 years ago. There is a reason why the hotel was de-branded by Delta. On a positive note the location is great and I HOPE they do re-invest this property and make it great again because it can be.

Air conditioning in the Room didnt work. Room was quite stuffy and warm at night. Sleeping was really uncomfortable
Called front desk for someone to come look at it. A Young Girl showed up. Gave us a Fan. It didnt solve the problem. If I stay there again I will be making sure the AC is working before I accept the room.
