This property is charming, well maintained and nicely decorated with antiques and curiosities. Its a short walk to the beach and I highly recommend it. I would have appreciated if the bathtub was working (water was turned off) as I like to take baths but with the understanding that is wasteful I was okay with this that small inconvenience.

A real hidden gem in Goa, three location is perfect, only 5 minutes walk from the beach where there are plenty of chilled beach shacks serving reasonably priced good and drinks, but the hotel is far enough away that it's totally peaceful at night and is very secure with a guard on duty 24/7.

The hotel itself is in a beautiful old heritage building and the staff all work incredibly hard to keep it clean and beautifully cared for, while our room was spacious and very comfortable.

However the standout for us was the staff, they did all they could to help us arrange a driver, clean our room, print documents we needed etc. It really was a 5 star experience and we would love to come back.

Special shout out to Freddy for his peerless service and great sense of humour :)

Characterful, friendly and charming hotel. Peaceful setting, rooms very clean. We had a bit of a problem with the hot water on arrival but they were quick to attend to this, and in fact moved us to a better room the next day. Taxi from airport all went to plan and they also organised a taxi for us onto our next destination. Breakfasts were fine with a choice of english style or Indian.

It's just beautiful

The hotel is a wonderful escape from the dust and dirt of the outside the gate. It means you can experience true goa with the tuc tucs, cows, mopeds and dirt knowing that you will sleep in a clean bed with AC. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the pool area is kept clean and relaxing.
You can see the Portuguese influence and enjoy watching the fish peacefully swimming in the pool in the middle of the hotel.
A wonderful place.

A great oasis hotel

This was a great little hotel, a little oasis hidden away in a beautiful kept garden with a lovely fountain. Gated access and a guard who was lovely. The food here and restaurant was excellent and I can recommend the pina collada. The swimming pool was a very good size, and a lot of the times we had it to ourselves.
For people who are not sure, please try this hotel, as once you have settled in and found what you like to eat etc you will not want to leave. The bedrooms are well equipped and spacious. One to resist time after time.

Quiet hotel in good location which is close to beach and local shops/cafes/bars. Room spacious and clean. Breakfast ok, nothing special. Due to receive free bottle of wine on check in which never materialised - staff didn't some overly fussed in resolving.

The Hotel is nicely located - not very interior at the same time not in traffic and noise pollution. Great efforts taken by Hotel executives to ensure a clean surrounding. This is located at a nice area which has some life such as market, restaurants etc and hence easy to move around. Since we had a 'Rent a cab', we found it extremely comfortable to come and go out of the area.

Great Relaxing Stay

We stayed in the hotel during the last week of April which is an off season for Goa as there are very less travelers (Indian and Foreigners both). The hotel was barely booked but the staff was still very alert, attentive and responsive in our needs during our stay. It was a complete homely experience for us during each and every encounter with the staff. Johnson the GM inquired about our stay almost everyday and the Bartender/Breakfast Server Babuli made sure we had everything what we asked for. Receptionists are very polite and helpful in every aspect needed. I have traveled almost 15 countries till now but this hotel leaves an good impression.

About the hotel: The hotel is a small homely cottage located 2 mins walk away from the Calangute Beach on one side and the main market on the opposite direction. My wife and I liked the location because it not on a busy road and thus maintains the calm and relaxing atmosphere. It is very well guarded and safe with a guard on duty at all times with the gates closed.

Nice Hotel closer to amenities

Nice hotel. If you like Indian breakfast (fried bread, curry, cutlets etc) you will love the breakfast. The rooms were comfortable and cosy. The hotel staff were polite, one of the restaurant staff beginning with B was overbearing and we felt pressurised to eat in their restaurant by him. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has lovely interior décor. The hotel has a policy of no children under 12, so be vary of it. Overall, a lovely stay.

It's a beautiful hotel the staff are brilliant rooms are tastefully decorated and it's a oasis amid the bustle of Calengute close to both the beach and Holiday Street where there are bars and restaurants. Tends to be a bit money orientated, taxi to Arjuna market from hotel cost 750 INR but only paid 250 to return, late checkout cost increase very rapidly past standard hours, cost 2500- 4000 INR or even upwards of this. There tends to be a lot of food and drink items unavailable even though they are on the menus ie no burgers,,
chicken salad, spaghetti bolagnase, tonic water, breezers and other drinks which can be very frustrating.

Very Pleasant Stay

I stayed for five nights in November 2015 in the middle room category which is located within the main hotel.

My room was a good size and was kept spotlessly clean throughout my stay. The bed was comfortable and it was nice having an outdoor seating area.

The bathroom is also a good size with bath and walk-in shower. Hot water was plentiful after a couple of minutes and water pressure was good. They do need however to invest in new bath towels as the ones currently supplied are becoming threadbare - the ones supplied poolside are much better quality.

The staff were all professional and friendly. The manager Johnson helped arrange a bespoke tour for me using the hotel driver Vasu and hotel car. Breakfast is basic but okay. The bar has a good menu although some spirits were occasionally out of stock.

Wifi is free but coverage and speed are intermittent. I bought a 3G card in town to supplement. The pool is a good size and very clean.

Beautiful Oasis in the centre of Calangute

We spent 5 nights at the hotel after having travelled around India for three weeks. It was a beautiful haven oozing with charm and peacefulness which is exactly what we needed after a hectic time.
The staff were very welcoming and one night after knowing that I attended a cooking class the waiter asked the chef to cook a meal from his village to give us a typical Goan experience.He then proceeded to write down the recipe so I can make it at home knowing I had an interest in cooking.The meals were beautifully prepared with fine attention to detail.
The hotel and grounds were immaculate and we really enjoyed speaking with the staff.

Family vibe with a short walk to the beach.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Calangute at the Casa Severina. The staff were extrememly friendly and always greeted us everytime we saw them. The room was generously spaced and very comfortable. The location was a very short walk to the beach and the staff were extremely helpful in planning possible adventures whilst we were there. It allowed us to relax and enjoy our time in Calangute and think about the important things, like drinks to be ordered.

The restaurant area served up some good food offerings and it was a pleasure chatting with the lead waiter/chef there. Location is a bit far from the station, being located in the north of Goa, but there is no shortage of bookable day trips to explore the north and south regions. We did the experience checking out Old Goa, a spice plantation and some of the beaches.

We had a wonderful stay at calangute...hotel was accessible, clean, good location, close to the beach.

We hired a car so getting around was easy.

Good Heritage property and good location but need

Well maintained heritage property and meets all basic requirements. Staffs are courteous. However no one picks up phone at the reception. People are not sure of the reception extension some says 9 while other says 111. Wi-Fi connection is weak. There was no attendant at night to cater to your requirements. I required a bottle of water and called reception at 11:30pm. No one picked up the phone. I personally went to the reception, no one was there at the desk. Finally I found the receptionist at the kitchen merrily chatting with a chef. Food taste needs improvement. Buffet spread needs improvement. Foods are pricey. Spa is worthless, no one should opt for it. Saying so, the plus points are mentioned below:
5 minutes away from Calangute beach and 2 minutes away from market and restaurants.

Lovely hotel. Very clean. Old Portuguese house , decor in Portuguese style furniture. Would return anytime. A little oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Calangute. Really loved it. Staff friendly, especially house keeping manager 'Thomas' . Reception staff understand very little English so lots of misunderstandings. Also trips and taxis more expensive in hotel and charge tax on everything, so better to book outside of hotel for trips etc.

Was in Goa for work and decided to take wifey along. A very relaxing stay away from the hustle & bustle of the city life.The standard room was very comfy. The beach is about 5 minute walk. Only issue I faced was with no wi-fi connectivity in the room. The hotel could also be a bit innovative with their menu not much to choose from. Quiet location.

My husband and I visited Goa for the first time in March, spending 3 weeks there. After reading reviews on several Hotels we decided to book Casa Severina. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of our room and the Hotel in general. We had our room cleaned with clean towels every day and clean sheets on a regular basis. Most of the staff went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible and were very helpful, especially the young boys who cleaned our room and also the boys who served breakfast and worked at the bar. The location of the Hotel was in a quiet spot, but just 5 minutes walk in one direction to the beach and the other direction to the shops, restaurants, taxi,s etc; Not sure when we will be going back to Goa but if we do we would certainly stay at the Casa Severina.

A Little Paradise

The Hotel, staff cleanliness and ambiance is excellent. We stayed here 23rd March for 3 weeks Used the pool every morning which was heated and was cleaned every day and towels were provided. The Hotel even provided towels to go to the beach free of charge The rooms ( we stayed in junior are excellent) very spacious. The Hotel is only a short 10 mins walk to the quiet and clean side of Calangute beach. Definitely stay here again.

Clean, modern B&B

Overall, the stay was very good. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. It had a large A/C unit that kept it very cool. We had 3 breakfasts and 1 dinner at the hotel. The food was good and the variety was OK -- basically what you would expect from a family run B&B. The hotel has a nice outdoor pool. They also have complimentary bicycles which was very fun. This hotel is about a 15-20 minute walk from the beach. This wasn't bad for us because it was so hot (late September) that we didn't spend much time there.

Gorgeous boutique hotel

Brilliant little hotel. We stayed in room f12 which was huge, with a gorgeous big balcony and filled with antique furniture. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and ensure everything is extremely clean and well looked after. The grounds and interior are gorgeous, really unique and the whole place is very tranquil. The swimming pool too is lovely however as the beach is only a short walk away it's very quiet, so perfect for relaxation. The only problem is to get anywhere is down a bit of a dirt track but I think this is the same in most places and taxis are really cheap and easy to come by. During the day this is no problem and the beach is only 5 mins away or you can use the complimentary bikes.
Breakfast is ok, but the lunch/ dinner is good and drinks are really cheap!

Adequate but could be a lot better!

The place is small and looks charming, but on closer inspection it is a little rough around the ages.

I would describe my room as adequate. It badly needed a repaint and the house-keeping wasn’t very good, with many things in the room covered in dust and in need of a good clean! My bathroom was nice, with a good hot shower and the flat screen in the room was very good. Nevertheless, overall I would say the rooms are adequate, but could be so much better if more attention to detail was given.

Another negative is that the breakfast is very poor indeed, with low quality ingredients used – it really could be improved hugely.

Overall the staff are pleasant, although some do not speak much English at all. They do not volunteer information, instead you have to ask everything you would like to know. As a visitor, it’s always nice for hotel staff to welcome you, offer a map and suggest where you might want to go.

The location, like a lot of Goan properties, is away from the main down a very bad path, full of pot holes and is very poorly lit at night. I was assured it was safe, but I definitely didn’t feel safe walking back at night.

Overall I felt with just a little more effort with everything (the room decoration, the house-keeping, the food and service) this place could be really superb. For now I think it’s just about a 3 star.

Excellent rooms and friendly helpful staff. Food quality was good though was a bit pricey. They have well maintained rooms, lawn area and pool. The only downside of the hotel is its accessibility to the beach. Its a 5 minutes walk but the path is not well lit and that may not be a pleasant walk after dark.

The worst stay ever...

It was the worst stay that I have ever had in a hotel.Here are the 3 noticeable points:
1- The receptionist was a lady with an attitude. She said that we are useless and she does not want to talk to us.
2- Out of 3 rooms we booked, one had bed bugs. My firends who stayed there were bitten by bugs and woke up in the mid-night with their backs swollen. The manager said that he didn't put the bugs in the bed. And this is the best service that he can provide.
3- The complementary wine bottle was served the second day after 4 phone calls.
4- The breakfast was nothing more than just bread, butter and omlette. Rest of the items were useless.
5- There was a power failure every10-15 mins. AC would not turn on when the power is back. So we had to wake up like 10 times in the night to turn on the AC.

After reading the reviews, I thought it will be good compare to other hotels but to my surprise. The front view, staff cooperation and of course the room was awesomely fantabulous. Wooden construction and classic items placed all over the hotel made it mesmerising. Friendly staff with accurate and cost effective solutions for shopping and hiring a vehicle. Overall we enjoyed the stay and definitely will visit again. Book in advance to get the best deals online only.

Wonderful Stay.

Lovely stay in authentic Goan/Portuguese style hotel. All staffs are very polite and helpful right from manager to watchman. Rooms are pretty clean and interiors are good. This hotel is bit inside from the main road & roads leading to hotel are narrow and in bad shape other than that nothing to complain. Good hotel, but far from beach and not great road

Hotel was nice, had a nice look and feel to it. However, since we checked in at 4.30 PM the previous day, we asked for a late checkout at 12 PM instead of 11 AM. The hotel was adamant not to allow us that as they had a booking for that same room, which they were quite adamant to allow an early check-in (before 1 PM). They agreed to 11.30 and eventually we checked out at 11.38.

Arrival was praising and the superb interior.

After long hours travel from Delhi to Goa, the hotel was so beautiful that the exertion gone. Sweet warm welcome with a soft drink and room full of all facilities make you feel more jolly. But one thing was disappointing and its the food court where the small insects were moving around the food that seems unhygienic.

I went to Casa Severina with my girlfriend in June- off season in Goa. The staff was very friendly and helpful at check in, the room was clean, in good condition, nicely decorated, comfortable, and their free wifi was fast, and very helpful for us to check email and make travel plans. Breakfast was good, and the staff was also very helpful in arranging us a scooter to rent to ride around Goa. The hotel itself is very beautiful and tucked away off the main road. It's very peaceful, and just a few minutes walk to the beach. We had a great experience, and it was a great value, and we would definitely stay here again. Casa Severina greatly exceeded my expectations.

The Hotel is a bit away from calangute and baga beaches, but in the heart of the town. Not a problem to get there anytime of the day. Easy to get vehicles for rent from shops very near the Hotel. The Hotel is not a very big property, but a small and comfortable place to stay. The staff were pleasing and ready to help and did a commendable job. Food is good. But limited choice for breakfast buffet. They have made maximum use of the limited space in the property.

Mesmerizing hotel with warm service

We stayed in this hotel for 4nights and had the most memorable time. The hotel has worked for details in architecture and it surprises u to see every part is a piece of craft including dustbins which are made up of bark of tree, flower pots shaped in tortoise, so on. Rooms were very well maintained and were clean and had a welcoming feel to it. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and live up to their tagline \"COME AS GUEST... LEAVE AS FAMILY\" . Will recommend it to all my friends & family.

Colonial Feel

The hotel looks like an old colonial Portuguese house. The rooms do not disappoint with their revolving fans and efficient air conditioning. The staff are friendly and helpful. Evening dinner is good value and extremely tasty and the cocktails are excellent (especially the caiprinha!).

Good place to stay!!!!

Good service. The room was well maintained and it has all the facilities in it. It has so many attractions nearby. The hotel has a very quite atmosphere where you can have peaceful nights. Food is average but in many places its the same, I will opt for it for sure next time,

hotel staff is very friendly.
rooms are very clean and bed sheets and curtains do not stink unlike other hotels.
we booked a junior room for two people. breakfast is not good. options are many but the taste is not good. we never had lunch or dinner here so no idea about it. overall experience was nice excluding the breakfast and the coffee and tea that you order in room service.

The only downfall is the hotel policy on non registered guests not being allowed to come into hotel property. A good friend couldn't come to the bar or pool deck on the property.

Fabulous Hotel and excellent service

The Casa Severina is a very comfortable small hotel. Throughout our stay we enjoyed outstanding service from very friendly staff who somehow managed to balance being there to provide everything you needed whilst at the same time not being intrusive . It is a short walk to the beach which has some great shacks and everything you need to relax. It is not a big resort type hotel, only 19 rooms, the menu is therefore fairly limited, but when you are in somewhere like Calungute, who wants to eat in the Hotel. We found some incredible restaurants a very short taxi ride away. If you are staying for some time you may wish to consider upgrading the room but our standard room was fine for what we wanted. The pool is adequate although we only used it once as we enjoyed the beach. Overall a very special place.

Very nice stay

We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed this hotel very much. The property is immaculate and our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The only very minor annoyance was the wi-if signal was very weak in our room and the breakfast buffet did not have many options. But that would not stop me from staying here again. Overall a very nice experience.

Great small hotel in Calangute

This hotel is just perfect: lovely rooms, very beautiful site (in particular its garden and outdoor restaurants), very nice, friendly and efficient staff. If you go to Calangute, this place is a MUST.

Wonderful and homey

We were very well taken care of. Casa Severina has a very homey feel. The staff is wonderful. The location is excellent. The food was nice. The only improvement I would say they could make is that the front desk clearly was not knowledgeable about local things to do. Everything was closer than they suggested that it was!

Great boutique property close to the beach

Extremely charming and chilled out property, resembling a Goan hacienda, that's a few minutes walk to the beach. (Note: The main calangute beach is farther away). The staff are very friendly and eager to help. Tip: Try to get a room on the upper floor.

This was my second stay at Casa Severina this year. The staff is friendly and forever welcoming. We stayed in the deluxe room and The rooms are spacious and clean. The food is good as well. I recommended this place to my family and they loved it. Stay at Casa Severina to experience the hospitality of the staff.

Nice hotel, very small quiet and friendly.... The delux room was nice and big, f17 was best with good view.... The pool was nice large and deep.....

The only gripe is the hotel did not include airport transfers and had to haggle for a good price to drop also did not get a bottle of wine and fruit basket as the ad stated.... Was not happy with this

The food was not too bad, not the best but defo not the worst, breakfast was ok....

The prices were very reasonable thou for both food and drinks

If u want a nice small quiet hotel then this is the one.... But be warned this is very small.....

Massive thanks to all staff esp Hazel and Brian who always looked After us....

Elegant hotel with a warm feel to it.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in November and we had a wonderful stay. The rooms, the service, the food (from the menu) was all great. The breakfast menu was fairly limited but not bad. The fresh omelettes they made for us were pretty good. The room (we stayed in F14, a deluxe room on the first floor) was well appointed and quite airy with a big balcony although the view from the balcony was below average (outside street). If you get a room on the other sides you can get the view of the pool or the garden which will be better.
The location is close to the Calangute beach but if you want to be close to all the action (water sports, clubs, shacks etc) then it is not walking distance from any of it but 15-25 minute drive.
All the staff we encountered was very polite and helpful particularly Brian and Hazel at the front desk and the manager at the breakfast buffet who would happily arrange for Masala Chai for us everyday!

perfect place to stay and the area is good

What a lovely hotel in a lovely location. we did lots of traveling aroung Goa and were really please with this location. the beaches were not too busy and they were all kept very clean. a nice beach with nice bars for food and drink 5 mins walk from the hotel. the hotel staff were all nice and helpful, we used their taxi for a trip which was clean, air con and nicely driven (which is nice after some mad taxi drivers). the swimming pool was peacful and clean. We had fantastic breakfasts every morning, these changed each day and plenty of choices. also we had dinner in the hotel which was good. next time in Goa we will come back to this hotel because of the quality and location. and we will always get the hotel to send a taxi to pick us up from the airport. the airport taxis are maniac drivers!!!

A cosy Italian experience!

It was a amazing experience at Casa. It's a nice cozy little hotel with limited rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Though the food was not up to the mark, staying in the hotel is a very good experience. Just a suggestion to the hotel staff is to improve the quality and add more variety in the breakfast which is served.

Nice clean hotel with a very cooperative staff.

We had stayed for 3 nights and it was a very pleasant stay. The rooms were spacious, clean and well furnished. The wash rooms were well designed and there was no case of leaking taps, wash basins etc. The members of the staff were extremely cordial where when you check in, the general manager of the hotel welcomes you personally and also calls on you before you depart. The breakfast which is complementary is also quite elaborate. The rooms which face the swimming pool have a better ambience.

Top hotel for good price

We enjoyed our stay very much because of the above average cleaniness of the rooms and the nice staff. The pool was nice as well. Food was 4/5. I can only recommend a stay there. It is on a german level :)

Wow-ed!

I had booked the Standard Boutique room, It cost me around 1600/- a night (August) via Expedia, and I was extremely amazed at what I got in return. During the peak season, even if it costs you 3000/-, its still worth it.

The room was nice and cozy. It had an amazing huge bed, nice wooden furnishing, spacious bath and a coffee area near the entrance.There was no balcony though. Balconies at other rooms are covered with thick sheets of what appeared to be toughened plastic. So, if you are looking for fresh air in the balcony, you would have to re-think.

The resort had lot of places to relax, the library, gym and the swimming pool. All upto the mark if not better.

I was given Alan's number, at the reception for the rental bike. For the hotel's guests he does not ask for a Security Deposit (usually 500 bucks).

Location: The landmark is the St. Anthony's chapel right in the middle of the road. At first, it might look a little off the main road, but this is added peace.
10 mins walk to the beach: Not the Calangute beach but a random shore.

Excellent Hotel

Stayed here for a few days at the end of June. I only have good things to say about the hotel and the staff. They were very hospitable. From facilitating an early check-in and a late check-out with no extra charge to providing a quality experience at the hotel that was value for money, we truly enjoyed our time there. Definitely a winner in my book and will be staying there when I head back to Goa.

Wonderful getaway

Really nice place and comfortable living.Few of the irritants were the irregular power supply to the area that gave a lag before the generator kicked in. Therefore had to constantly hit the menu button on the TV to remove the text on the screen when the system is restarted. Heritage furniture even though of very good quality needed you to put more effort to use such as closing cupboards, locking doors and such.Few of the staff were ignorant of the surroundings and therefore used to give false promises and would make you expect that would be a real downer once reality comes.Other than these few minor irritants, the place was wonderful. The hospitality was excellent / closeness to the more quieter areas of beach is walkable / food is excellent. Service is good. and Staff very friendly.Would definitely recommend a stay for all and would consider staying again given the chance to do so. BTW stayed there for a week.

An oasis in Calangute.

We wanted to experience the life in an old Portuguese house like in old Goan days. Casa Severina is an old Portuguese house in a big garden and pool. We stayed at this hotel in May, when it was off-season in Goa. We got a standard boutique room, which did not have a view of full garden but it was spacious and had a small patio with a table and chairs. Even the patio had a fan. We had 25% off; so it was really good value for money. Both the buildings, garden and the pool are maintained very well.
