We booked a stay for July 19th 2024. We were going to stay one night after watching the Tour de France on Isola 2000. We left early in the morning with a Eta of 11am. They closed the road at 10am 9 miles from the hotel. The tour was going to finish around 5pm. We had to turn around. It was crazy traffic. We contacted the Sowell via email through expedia and the email they sent us. It was a special situation and we would like a refund. They never answered both emails. Very disappointed..

I have stayed 3 times the reception staff are extremely helpful. However, the security staff are not. I was told that on the 5th day of getting up early to work before skiing (7am ) that if I did not leave the lounge area with my laptop they would shoot me and my familly and they don't like the English!!!

excellent location with true ski in and out facilities. we had the best room with a view over the piste and a little balcony. Breakfast was buffet and really satisfying with lots of choice served at a pleasant time between 7.30 - 9.30. Locker room facilities for skis and a luggage room for luggage if you depart after check-out makes this a really good choice for anyone with a late flight time. lovely staff and helpful. highly recommended.

Solid choice for ski in / ski out at Isola 2000

First off Le New Chastillon is one of the ski in/out hotels at Isola. It’s also right next to the parking lot two ski rental shops and the lift ticket office so it’s one of the most convenient hotels up there. The staff is super nice and we had a view of the green piste right outside our window. Very cool. The hotel itself is clean and fairly modern, although my room had only a bunk bed and sofa inside and no normal bed. Also the WiFi didn’t work for some reason and the 10am checkout time is quite early. However, my friend and I spent very little time in the hotel itself - I don’t imagine you will either - so all things considered it’s a very good value. In fact I’ll be staying here again over Christmas for more skiing!

Good ski-in/ski-out, with a few maintenance issues

Helpful service, great ski-in/ ski-out location and comfortable enough room on night one; downgraded to a not-so-great room on the second night (due to two separate bookings) Both rooms looking a little tired at the end of the season with a cracked window in one that had been repaired with gaffer tape (certainly posed a risk for kids as it was at eye level) and no batteries in the remote for the TV. Level of room kit was passable.

So after a 3 hours trip - you can't get into your room until after 5pm onwards, so you ski for a few hours. Tired.....finally you enter your room and you have to make up your bed of sheets, pillows and quilt cover 3 beds......tired husband, wife and child not a great start to the holiday.

Hotel on the ski slopes

Location good, but room quality poor. Finishes were cheap, Nail holes in the wall where mirror had come off. The room was cold for 3 days. It was on the energy card system- in the Alps at a ski resort really. I had to leave the card in to keep the heating on it was not fit for purpose. The staff were not interested, they came in turned it up but it did not heat the room for 3 days. Bed really uncomfortable. Staff ok but really not engaged.

Overall was pretty decent.
Perfect location, the staff were helpful & friendly.
Annoying that check in is at 5pm & you have to make your own beds. We had missing duvets, no toilet paper or towels and also other people's hair on pillows & a few dirty dishes.
The apartment was modern and perfect for the 3 of us.

Great location. Awful accommodation, rooms are tiny, only double bed is sofa bed. Upon arrival you need to make up your bed with sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers. Bedding is very old an stained. Not a 4 star hotel. On top of the 280 euros we paid per night they also charge you 65 euros to clean room unless you as the client strip all the beds, take the rubbish out and wash all the cutlery up.... Rip off !!!Very disappointing. A real shame
because the resort itself is lovely.

The location is practically perfect, but unfortunately the room just doesn't work for a family set up. Way too cramped and happy for kids to accommodate a bunk bed, but two adults on a sofa bed is a joke.... The most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in and I can sleep on any flight so was shocked at the discomfort. The downstairs toilets near the boot room stunk and drifted into the lift and breakfast area- very unpleasant to say the least. Making beds on arrival is also unwanted when you have been skiing all day. I know isola is not an upmarket ski resort but felt like I was in a student hostel which made it very poor value for money @ £180 per night Feb half term.

Basic and simple, come prepared

The hotel is fairly newly renovated and clean but is very basic, after reading reviews before arriving we took extra cleaning items (cloths, detergent, washing up liquid etc). The room is quite small as a double with a food out bed from a sofa, to be honest it would have been better with just a normal bed.

The swimming pool is a little odd and can get busy but functional. As with other reviewers, the jacuzzi does not work and I have not read a review when anyone has not said that it is broken or cold. This was annoying as it is a good therapy for post skiing tired muscles! The sauna was ok but no bowl/ladle for putting water on the coals for extra heat/steam. It is also pretty small so if more than 4 people are inside, that's it.

The check in and checkout procedure is a bit annoying as you cannot checkin before 1630 and checkout must be before 1000. So in effect you lose a day of your holiday unless you are wiling to do the whole pack and change out of a suitcase and use the communal shower in the pool area.
However.....we paid a very reasonable price through Expedia and I did not expect more than we got, just read the reviews before you arrive! A lot of the other properties offer a similar experience however I would check out \"les residences\" nearby which has a better pool/jacuzzi and larger rooms.

Great hotel apart from the sofa bed sunk in the middle so sleeping was uncomfortable. My girlfriend only weighs 8 stone, me 12 so we are a light couple and if we had been heavier we definitely would of had the bed collapse under us.

This is not a hotel but an apartment-hotel: i.e.
Negatives:
- the beds are uncomfortable folded sofas,
- you need to make your own bed,
- there is no daily room cleaning, meaning you only get 1 towel for the whole week
- the Jacuzzi was not working
- You would expect much more from any 4 star hotel
Positives:
- it is conveniently located next to the slopes
- there is a small swimming-pool and sona
- the breakfast is good and varied
- the staff is nice and helpful

A NON-SERVICED Studio Accommodation

Best about this place is the location and newly build. Keep in mind it's NOT a Hotel - it's a Self-Service-Studio Accommodation!! They only provide an average breakfast buffet otherwise no service AT ALL. No room cleaning, no changing of towels, beds are NOT prepared. Main double bed is a folding sofa bed with a soft mattress. All rooms are only equipped with those folding beds!! Reception only open a few hours a day (9-11am & 4-9pm) You have to arrive within these times otherwise you can't get keys to your cabin and have to wait for hours. As new builded, it's still in good shape, but it starts already showing signs of running down (wall papers are coming off in public areas, hot tub does not work). Swimming pool is very small, more a cold plunge pool. But this place is still the best in Isola.... - if you are prepared to do all yourself during your stay, don't mind the simple Ikea style deco style, no service, no extra facilities, it's a convenient place next to the ski slope.

Hotel new Chastillion April 2014

We went for a 3 day skiing break early April 2014. Flew into Nice, and had a taxi to the resort. The Hotel is in an excellent position right on the slopes but also easy access for cars at the southern end of the resort and plenty of parking, if needed.
We arrrived at 14:30 and the reception does not open til 15:00 (you cannot even get into the hotel without a key code). Luckily some other guests were going in as we arrived and we were able to leave our cases in reception and go and get some lunch. Would have been difficult if we had had to wait outside with our cases. Hotel staff were friendly and we checked in quickly on our return at about 15:30
Our appartment was a 2 room appartment for 4 which was really spacious, well equipped and clean. 2 single beds in 1 room and comfortable large sofa bed in the lounge/ kitchen diner. Plus a huge bathroom. Tip: take cleaning stuff, cloth, washing up liquid etc, as you have to clean the appartment on leaving. We were due to take the bus back to Nice at 17:00 on the last day, but had to check out at 10am. However, Staff very helpful and we could leave our cases in a locked room and we could change after skiing and use hotel facilities until we left. Would definitely use the hotel again.

Great location, extremely satisfied with hotel

After receiving bad feedback throughout 2013 the staff have turned the hotel around and we were really pleased with the hotel. Once you get through the very small reception area, the hotel opens up into a modern and clean hotel. Check in time is supposed to be at 5pm but the helpful staff were happy to check us in at 4pm. Our room was very spacious, clean, modern and well equipped. The bathroom was huge and the bath/shower very clean and acceptable. Kitchen area fine - take your own dishcloth, tea towel and washing up liquid or dishwasher tablets. The only downside was the beds were very hard and the pillows too feathery and flat so couldn't get comfortable. No noise disturbance. Definitely recommend this hotel. You can park your car outside and if you get the 750 Snow Bus from Nice Airport, the bus stop is a minute's walk from the hotel. Staff really helpful and they speak English. I'm used to staying in 4 or 5 star hotels, and would return to this hotel, however would take my own pillow!

Great location on the piste.

The location of this hotel is fantastic. My only complaint is that we were a party of 2 people, father & son on a weekend ski break. The room had a sofa bed that we would have had to share! My son's face said it all...there was no way!! So, we put the sofa cushions on the floor to set up a second bed but, there was only one duvet....we asked the hotel reception if we could have another duvet or a spare blanket....they would not provide it!!! The room itself though, was clean, modern and a fabulous view of the pistes and mountains. An added bonus was the pool, jacuzzi and sauce...a bit of a welcome luxury after a day skiing.

We arrived at 12:05 to find the front door locked. We waited in the snow for 20mins untill a guest came and entered the pin code to open the door and let us in. Then we discovered the reception is closed daily between 12-3pm so we had to occupy ourselves for 3hrs! We paid a lot to stay for 4 nights but when we asked for clean towels was told there was an extra charge! The room was not cleaned once during our stay. The pool & jacuzzi were cold! Breakfast isn't included & there is a €300 deposit on arrival. We had to convert/make the sofa bed on arrival (why there's a sofa bed & not just a bed I don't know)! All silly little things that could stop this being a nice hotel.

Smart but not functional

Too much ikea furniture in this hotel. It looks very contemporary but the sofa beds are pretty basic and all those trendy hard surfaces mean that the noise from the court yard breakfast area echos up through the hotel from first thing in the morning. It's good value and there isn't that much competition in isola.
I was surprised to be asked to strip the bed and do the washing up in order to get my deposit back but apparently that's normal for a \"residence\" rather than a hotel.

lovely new rooms

we were very pleased with the location as no long trek to the slopes! The rooms were lovely and new and fitted with everything you need including hairdryer in the bathroom. The guy on reception was nice and helpful and the staff had no problem with providing us with a few extras like a mop, extra toilet roll and a bottle opener when we asked. we were on the ground level which meant we could climb over the wall to ski straight to and from our room which was a plus! we didn't pre-book the breakfast but on the last morning decided to have it and so just paid at reception and helped ourselves which was great. The only negative was the swimming pool was a bit too cold, although we did still go in a couple of times. On a whole and comparing to 3 previous stays at Isola in other hotels I would say this hotel was the best we have stayed in yet! :-)

Une expérience unique mais plutôt négative. A l’arrivée dans la chambre d’hôtel, les lits ne sont pas fait (car ils fonctionnent comme ça). Sauf que c’est indiqué nulle part sur l’app.
Ensuite le jour du départ, il faut défaire tous les lits et mettre le linge avec les serviettes dans la baignoire.
Sans oublier qu’on doit aussi nettoyer la petit cuisine et sortir la poubelle.
Bref aucun rapport avec un hôtel mais plutôt and BnB.

Toutes les chambres donnent sur l’espace du petit déjeuner. Réveil obligatoire avec le bruits (surtout les enfants en bas âge qui sont mal éduqués, et il y en a).

En dehors de ça, pour les points positifs :
super petit déjeuner

Un peu déçu par l'hotel

L'hôtel est idéalement situé, le personnel attentif.
Par contre la salle de restauration au centre des espaces de nuit est à mon avis une idée saugrenue. Cela génère un bruit de fond aux horaires des repas qui remonte dans les chambres ! De plus les aller et venues incessants dans les coursives n'est certainement pas très hygiénique pour les plateaux du petits-dejeuners situé à disposition en bas.

Nota bene : le coût était exhorbitant pour un soit-disant 4*

Personnel très aimable et compétent.
Petite surprise à l’arrivée: le supplément de 10 euros pour mon chien.
Les chambres sont très mal isolées, on entend les voisins parler, les portes qui claquent…
Le balcon n’était pas aménagé (aspect beton et pas de chaises pour s’asseoir) c’est dommage sachant que ces chambres sont plus chères.
Les horaires de checkin et checkout ne sont pas très pratiques.
Les serviettes ne nous ont été distribuées qu’à 19h.
A part ca, la chambre était propre, le lit confortable.
Mais je m’attendais à de meilleures prestations pour le prix et le fait que l’établissement ait 4 étoiles.

Parfait pour un skieur forcené comme moi

Le parcours du combattant pour trouver le lieu Je connais la station depuis sa création et connaissais l'hôtel Chastillon où j'allais à l'époque. D'après le plan communiqué par Hotels.com la résidence se trouvait loin de cet hôtel et personne dans la station ne connaissait la résidence sous ce nom En fait il s'agit de l'hôtel rebaptisé mais il a mal vielli.
Propreté moyenne des cheveux dans la baignoire et des taches sur la couette. Il ne fallait pas ouvrir le frigo qui était sale
Le local à ski est peu pratique et sent ( pue) l'humidité. Par contre l'emplacement directement sur les pistes est de première qualité. Un lieu parfait pour skier avec la première remontée et rentrer après la fermeture de la dernière remontée mécanique.

Le logement était situé face à la salle de petit déjeuner avec une isolation sonore et lumineuse insuffisante : il aurait fallu un sas.
Il manque des tables de nuit et un paillasson pour éviter de souiller le sol avec la neige.
Rapporté au prix, je trouve cela un peu élevé.
Pas de stationnement sur place, le parking public est en contrebas mais souvent plein si l’on arrive pas en fin de journée.
Bien situé à proximité de la gallérie marchande (restaurant, front de neige)

First of all there wasn't anyone speaking English so a lot of confusion. And some smaller problems such as it was broken locks at our balcony door , lower floor so it was possible to get in from outside...
Whole place felt like a ghost town. Maybe better in the winter... Bad feeling with ghost town and unlocked doors.

Accueil sympathique. L ensemble du personnel est agréable et efficace. La situation de la résidence est parfaite...sur les pistes! Le logement est propre et bien tenu.
Petit bémol. ..le petit déjeuner est pauvre !
A l exception de la viennoiserie de qualite tout le reste est semble t il compté, pauvre en offre, tant en qualite qu en diversité, bref le plus chiche des petits déjeuners buffet!

Uitstekende ligging, wel aan de prijs. Als alle slaapplaatsen in gebruik zouden zijn niet, maar daarvoor zijn de meesteappartementen wel wat klein.

Qualité/prix AÏE AÏE - 2 nuits - 3 studios

Dans l'ensemble l'établissement est plutôt récent, bien conçu, l'accueil sympa, le service également.
Les studios étaient assez spacieux pour 2 (nous étions 2 par studio 3 places), bien agencés, beau balcon. quelques finitions auraient besoin d'un coup de travaux (trou dans le mur...), propreté pas trop mal, faut pas être maniaque. Les lits (à faire soi-même) sont des canapés, donc inconfortables. Petits déjeuners copieux et de qualité. j'ai tenté l'espace détente sauna/piscine mais trop de monde, faudrait voir à agrandir cet espace car en période de pointe ce dernier est inaccessible (sachant que notre réservation s'est faite entre autre par rapport à ce service) Bien pour les gens qui ne skient pas par exemple. Nous avions des studios placés côté piste et avons beaucoup souffert du bruit des dameuses et camions poubelles côté parking, c'est la contre-partie d'être en pieds de piste (d'ailleurs super pour les skieurs).
nous avons donc été satisfaits dans l'ensemble mais pas au prix que nous avons payé.
le Rapport qualité/prix est le gros point négatif de notre séjour et aurions préféré pour ce prix opter pour un hôtel 4 étoiles et non une résidence.

Acceptable but \"room\" for improvement

This is a apartment hotel where you can arrange your own meals. We had a room at the very bottom with a very cold floor (probably not correctly isolated from the base Concrete). Standard ok but not at a four star level. The personnel was good and the best \"asset\" of the hotel.

Vraiment vraiment vraiment deçu de la chambre la cuisine équipée reste à désirée
La salle de bain pareil !!!!Puis pour un **** même pas de shampoing ou savon vraiment sa laisse grave à désirer.
Donc verdict je le déconseille fortement.

Hôtel moderne au pied des pistes

État neuf, design, très propre, un peu petit mais suffisant pour trois (studio 3p). Baignoire! Canapé lit peu confortable. Accueil correct. Par contre porte de la chambre au rdc à 1m de la première table de petit déjeuner. Un peu bizarre et bruyant le matin. Mais après tout pas plus que dans un autre hôtel au ski. Piscine petite sans vestiaire mais propre. Belle terrasse ensoleillée donnant sur les pistes mais non équipée. Wifi gratuit appréciable. Commerces à l'opposé mais accessibles par galerie couverte. Pkg. Public ext à côté. Le grand plus : la proximité des pistes et la pièce pour les skis et chaussures + Super domaine skiable et soleil jusque tard sur la station et l'appartement.

Extrêmement cher pour la prestation.
Les arrivées se font à 17h et on doit libérer la chambre à 10h ... ça fait très cher les heures ... c'est dommage.
Le personel est très professionnel, arrangeant et très agréable.

god værdi for pengene

Jeg besøgte hotellet med min datter 8 år. Vi havde en fantastisk ferie. Ok værelse. Dejlig pool og sauna. Hyggeligt hotel og personalet var meget hjælpsomme.

Concernant les points negatifs ....Trop bruyant lors du petit déjeuner puis piscine trop froide impossible de profiter de ce service ... sinon nous avons profiteé de la proximité des pistes et de la gentillesse de nicky ainsi que celle du patron Lionel.

Idéalement situé, confortable et personnel agreabl

Arrivée tardive mais tout été prêt. Studio confortable, propre et une belle vue sur les pistes.
Petit dejeuner copieux. Piscine, sauna très agréables.

Appart/hotel situé sur le front de neige, idéalement situé pour démarrer une bonne journée de ski. Personnel charmant. Chambre correcte avec tout le confort. Seul petit soucis rencontré, piscine glaciale.

Uwaga nieuczciwy hotel !!!

Hotel potwierdził rezerwację i pobrał pełną opłatę. Kiedy tam dojechałem, recepcja była zamknięta i nie mogłem skorzystać z noclegu. Następnego dnia okazało się, że potwierdzenie jest wysyłane automatycznie, a oni o rezerwacji z hotels.com nic nie wiedzieli. Hotel nie zgadza się na zwrot pieniędzy.
