The hotel is exactly what one would expect from a non-top-tier IHG property, reasonably priced, clean and not noisy. Dining options are kind of limited, the menu at both restaurants is the same every day with very small variation for the breakfast buffet. Air conditioning in the rooms is top notch - no noise at all, air movement is barely noticeable thanks to oversize vents, the temperature is very even throughout the suite - it was super nice to enter the room from the humid heat outside. Bathrooms are large and well-ventilated.
Larger, nicer suites with room-size patios are in the building that is not wheelchair accessible - both levels are accessed only by a flight of stairs. The rest of the hotel has elevators and ramps everywhere. Staff always rushes to help.
Tiles around the pool need maintenance, some of them wobble too much.
If you want to go to town, you'll need a ride. Rides are available, but not from western ride sharing services, and there aren't many dining options within a short walking distance.

The hotel is on the shore, but the beach if very small, right in front of the hotel there's a protected coral reef, so swimming is limited to a small sandy area, that is clean and well-maintained. The sand may feel a little rough for bare feet because of tiny bits of seashells, but that is natural; wear flip-flops and you'll enjoy it. You'll find better than average flip-flops in the closet in your room.

There for a short break during the work week. It was a great way to unwind - walking on the beach, sitting by the pool sipping beer. Definitely a place to go for that much needed break

Everything was good. Just wished they know that this is a tropical resort n accept sarong as a form of dress. When they told me to get dressed properly in the club after a swim I found that horrendous!

Horrible service

there was a lack of staff working in the resort overall. there wasnt anyone at the beach to serve towels and drinks, we even need to clean up the glasses ourselves. concierge staffs not offering help on calling cabs or asking what our needs but chatting on their own. staffs in general were not proactively helpful - only direct you to here and there for service instead of helping/serving you. spa was great though. excellent service especially my spaist, Mary.

A wonderful hotel with great access to the beach. Staff are superb and Terrance did his utmost to make me have an enjoyable stay upon check in. The only thing that would be nicer is if they had more space near the beach front in the resort for the sea breeze where the palm trees don't block the sun.

Check in was a total nightmare. Booked 2 rooms and checked in at 1230pm and was told room will be ready at 3pm which is understandable. Returned at 3pm, got keys to 1 room and was told they’ll call me when the other room is ready. At 6pm when I returned to check because no call was made to me; they told me the other room was ready. All the guy at the front desk did was just blame the back office as if it wasn’t his problem.

We have stayed for our weekends in Intercontinental hotel not for a first time. This is our favourite relaxing spot. All here breath by peaceful: nature, landscapes, spacious rooms with a huge privat terraces, the room`s view for the small lakes. The only sounds you will hear in the night is a singing of some night creations living there and an ocean waves. Bathroom with a small garden behind of the glassed wall is something exactly like nowhere else! Highly recommended for a romantic holidays or those who seeking for privacy and deep relax!
Breakfast buffet provides a wide choice of dishes and drinks. The only we found in the restaurant was not enough staff to remove used tablewares.
Reception, housekeeping,recreation personnel were absolutely friendly and hospitable. Guest relation Max made our stay memorable and helped to resolve our small problems immediately.
We will definitely return again!

The bad: From the 40 min wait to get the check in done to mistakes to my credit card billing. My staff was paved with small nuisances from the staff hotel. The staff really tries but most of them don’t speak English. Everyday it was a problem to communicate our needs. Every time I tried to order room service they couldn’t take my order to I was force to go to the lobby and ask someone from there to order for me. I been on the island before and it’s the first time I have such difficulties when trying to communicate my needs while in the hotel. I repeat the staff tries hard but it is not enough. At the end of the day they left me with bad impression of the Intercontinental hotels. I was surprised since I have stayed in other Intercontinental properties around the world but is the first time I find such difficulties.

The good: The rooms are wide and really nice but the property it’s starting to deteriorate and you can tell. The view is really nice and having a balcony was a nice touch. One point I would really like to point out was the food. The food was really good a bit pricey but everything was delicious and memorable. At the restaurant, they will give a tablet with an English menu with pictures so you can order easily. That was a good point. And there are some restaurants and minimarts around the area. Their food is also nice and really cheap.

Will not honor complimentary breakfast

Expedia shows that a superior room includes complimentary breakfast. We booked 2 superior rooms. The staff refuses to honor the complimentary breakfast despite the fact that this is published on the Expedia website. We had to pay full price for the breakfast upon check out. Very unhappy ....

We had a great 4 days!

We had read some not so good review of food but found this not to be the case- there was both eastern and western styles. The banquets were good. We had a wonderful relaxing break spending 4 days by each of the pools. Very refreshing to find a great escape. Looking forward to going again

Excellent service, Comfortable room & amazing pool

I stayed 5 nights at this locations. Excellent service from reception desk, breakfast, bar and pool personnel. Rooms are large and comfortable.

More like a 4 star hotel

Overall it was a good hotel, but definitely did not seem 5 star. The pools were nice and guestroom was very large and spacious, however the beach was not worth going to at all and the service was not on par with other Intercontinental hotels.

1. I had booked the trip on hotels.com and was promised a room with an ocean view. This was clearly stated on the confirmation.
2. However, when we got there, we were given an older room on the far end with only a view of a mosquito infested pond.
3. I was allowed a room change to the agreed type of room on threatening to move out.
4. After the room change, everything else was great, the service, the food and the facilities.
5. Had an excellent and romantic stay.

Great resort a short cab ride to downtown

The hotel was great overall although due to being there during a slow period, some of the facilities were closed including parts of the spa. The hotel is in an isolated cove but the downtown areas can be reached via a short cab. The property is really well maintained with no need to leave. Breakfast is expensive so buy in advance if you can.

Siempre que me hospedo en la cadena de hoteles Raffles la atención es exquisita hay variedad de comida internacional, aquí solo comida asiática es la primera vez que en un hotel Raffles no hay variedad de comida, las pocas personas que hablaban inglés no se les entendía.

老牌的五星级酒店，设施略显陈旧，房间里的潮味有点重，可能因为在水边所以湿度比较大，房门的电子锁也出现了电池没电刷不开卡的情况，但服务员很快给解决了。早餐很好，服务也不错，性价比还是高的，推荐。

시설과 클럽룸 수영장등 인터컨 싼야는 클럽룸 이상 머물러야 할갓 같습니다.
라운지 직원들 특히 친절했구요, 망고 실컷 먹고 왔습니다. 친정어마랑 라눈지에서 잠깐 쉬고 있은데
아주 달콤한 메론을 자리로 특별히 가져다 주셨어요. 별거 아니지만 정말 감동했습니다
다시 하이난 간다면 그때도 무조건 인터컨 싼야오 가겠습니다
