Our suite needs thorough carpet cleaning, many stains were visible.
Staff at the front desk was nice when approached, otherwise busy with personal talks.
The breakfast was very much under par for the type of hotel Maximilians advertises to be. You are not allowed to get the table you want. There is nobody in charge for refilling the buffet. Items were missing for the whole time we had breakfast. You will be asked for your coffee order once and never again.
We have stayed here many times before and the quality of service is going down every single time. We are very sorry to be forced to leave this kind of commentary, but it is the truth.
Hopefully this can be addressed and fixed quickly.

This hotel is Michelin star hotel, and it was fabulous. Excellent location!! The room was incredibly beautiful and clean, huge bathroom, and very comfortable bed with fluffy pillows! The staff was incredibly helpful and nice. I really recommend this hotel and would love to come back again soon. Augsburg is so pretty!!

Excellent service, great buffet breakfast, and maintenance of the property. We visited Augsburg to attend an FC Augsburg football match and go to Oktoberfest.

We arrived early about 1100 by train and asked if our rooms were ready and the was only the second time out of around close to a dozen visits that our room was not ready but they offered to hold our bags and give us a call when our room would be ready so we could walk about Augsburg without our bags. We received our phonecall in about two hours at 1300. Our bellhop brought our bags out of holding and to our rooms for us.

The cooling system was converted for winter a few days earlier but the staff did not expect a spike in the temperature (around 30 C) which made our rooms difficult to keep cool even when the thermostat was set at 16.5 C but the room felt around 26 or 27 C. Thankfully the staff provided us with a tower fan so we turned off the AC and opened the windows at night when it got cooler and the temperature dropped back down to autumn weather.

My wife asked for an iron and ironing board for her dirndl and my shirt for Oktoberfest. The staff brought both to our door within 10 minutes of her request. After use, we placed both items in the hall.

Best breakfast buffet in Augsburg. Everything was fresh and delicious from the sliced fresh fruits, breads, made to order eggs, etc. We requested ice for our water bottles and the waitstaff brought an ice bucket.

Barring the AC issue still a great stay.

Staff of the hotel were not helpful. Their garage is under construction and we had to park in a different one down some very shady alley which felt very unsafe. The hotel is near a train station so the area around it is unpleasant - lots of litter, questionable characters walking around, etc. Maybe if it was in a better part of town it would have been ok but I wouldn't stay there again. Also, the air conditioning in the room was pre set and you couldn't get it to go lower so the room was stuffy. Otherwise, it was actually a clean and very nice room but the location of the hotel really took away from our experience.

We booked 2 nights (July 4th and July 5th) at Maximilian’s 5 star hotel in Augsburg, Germany through Expedia. When we arrived at the hotel on July 4th at 4PM we were offered the room 404 at the top floor. Upon entering the room we discovered that AC wasn’t working and the temperature in the room was close to 90F. We immediately notified the front desk and was assured that the issue will be resolved shortly, but when technician looked at AC unit we were told that nothing can be done, and hotel can’t offer room because Maximillian’s was overbooked. I was asking, crying, told them I have heart's conditions. Nobody cares... We immediately notified the front desk that we are cancelling the 2nd night because it was impossible to stay. The \"best part\" - when we checked out on July 5th, hotel charged us for 2 nights

Always great service and staff. Arrived very early before check-in after a 3 hour train ride around 0900 and asked Luisa at the front desk if they can store my bag while I walked around Augsburg. She checked on my room and told me it was ready. What a convenience and 9 out of 10 times they can accommodate an early check-in. Breakfast was very good as always but my only issue was that the potatoes were undercooked. Omelettes were made to order and the serving staff offered to get me coffee as always. I will always stay here whenever I visit Augsburg. Thank you!

Perfect hotel for visit to Augsburg

I am so glad I picked this hotel for my 3 night stay. Receptionists were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and so comfortable. I really enjoyed the shower and slept well. The room and hotel were clean. The location is right on the Main Street in this very walkable town. There are many restaurants within a few steps as well as shopping and grocery stores. I visited in August so I preferred the restaurants with outdoor terraces.

The hotel has a parking garage for your car and bellman and valet service.

The train station is about a 10 minute walk. I parked my car but took a Daytrip by train. It is a nice station. I would definitely stay there again!

Great breakfast buffet - however, quite a few external guests came to the hotel for breakfast on the Holidays, so reservations of a table for “peak breakfast times” is recommended. The restaurant also offers very good, contemporary German cuisine

Regarding transport to the airport in Munich the hotel works with an external, local car company - however, reserve for a pick up from the hotel with a good margin as today (still a Holiday in Germany) there was quite a delay regarding the pick up.

We really appreciated the staff’s treatment of our dog when we checked in. They provided a welcome bag with doggy treats, doggy bags, and a door tag telling the staff that there was a dog in the room if we had to leave her which we fortunately did not have to do at any time during our stay. The daily additional pet fee was 19 Euros per day which would eventually get expensive for longer stays.

The heated floor in bathroom didn’t work. The dial was broken. The room was hot. Even with window open we were roasting. However, with room directly over the doors to the bar, it was noisy way beyond midnight, thus didn’t want windows open. Finally, after asking for a fan, we were comfortable. But, the room was small & we stumbled over the fan. Thus, the fan was not ideal. Perhaps down comforters less thick would be better, or AC?

It's a classic, beautiful hotel, modernized for today's traveler. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with nice furniture and decor. The bathroom is amazing: large, well-lit and has probably one of the nicest tubs if you like to take baths (I enjoyed the shower; my wife, the tub). Everything about the hotel, from its friendly and helpful staff, to the bar and restaurant, spa facilities and lobby wait areas are first rate. The location is also excellent, and walkable to the commercial area of town. This was the first time I'd experienced the Christmas Market in Germany, and we all had a wonderful stay. We'll be back.

Small niggle is that - speaking as a person with frizzy hair - it would be nice if they provided shampoo and conditioner in the room rather than just a body wash that doubled as shampoo. I looked like a poodle in Augsburg.

Beautiful property within walking distance to all the attractions and restaurants. Great onsite parking. Large room and bath. Only complaint is the bed. It was extremely hard and you could feel the springs under you in the night. This was intended as a stopover to rest at the beginning of the road trip portion on a long holiday through Europe. It was a challenge to sleep the bed was so uncomfortable which did not make for a “restful” stopover. With accommodations this nice a higher quality mattress should be a given.

I have stayed at the Steigenberger Drei Mohren Hotel before in October 2018 and I stayed this time in May 2019. The Room was gorgeous however it was noisy. I was on the first floor and I think we were just above the Function room where a party kept me awake on my first evening at the hotel. Also I could smell cigarette smoke in my room and I am Asthmatic.

I was so exhausted having been up from 2am to travel to Ausburg that I did not have the energy to request to change my room. I also had an accident in the room I hit my head on the edged of a very sharp glass cabinet and cut my my head open. I still have a bump and scar.

I reported the accident but I was not contacted by management. The Glass Cabinet is a health and safety risk.

In conclusion the hotel is stunning but more care and attention is required to health and safety issues and customers should be warned if there are events in the hotel which might affect the enjoyment of their stay.

We only wished we could have stayed longer at this hotel which was fabulous! We had an upgrade which always helps and the service and friendliness were top-notch. The bar is great and I was able to enjoy a Caesar salad and glass of Moët; very civilised! The breakfast really was amazing and all you expect from a 5-star hotel. No champagne for me though as we were driving to Stegaurach that day. I’m sure the Great Gatsby celebrations fir new year would have been amazing - they were in preparation when we left. Would definitely recommend and will be doing so!

Staff was not friendly or helpful. Bathrooms were filthy. Lighting in the guest bathroom is very dark.
We had problems with our rental car and had to wait 5 hours in the hotel lobby. No one until hour #5 asked me if I needed anything.
I would never recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in Augsburg.
Too bad because it is a beautiful hotel.

This was my first experience with Steigenberger hotels. It was in the perfect location in Augsburg.
Reception and the entrance was lovely, it really is a beautiful hotel with a great history. They left us welcome Lebkuchen on the pillows when we arrived! A common issue in Germany we found, is the overly soft pillows and they offered up nice memory foam ones! The room was lovely and had a great view of Maximillianstrasse and the Hercules Fountain.
Parking is extra, but not exorbitant at 19 euros.

The only demerit with the hotel was the air conditioning. When we arrived the room was very warm, but the AC didn't appear to be on. So we turned it on and relaxed a bit, but even on full blast it hardly cooled. Since we were going out and it was cool outside, we opened the windows to cool things off. I'm not sure if this shut down the AC or not, but we didn't shut it off when we left. When we got back the room was comfortable but not cool. Since the street was noisy, we shut the windows and ensured the AC was again on full blast. However all night, the room never cooled. I woke up several times due to the heat and wasn't able to use a comforter or sheets at all. Now I do like a cold room and I'm sure if we called the desk to complain they would have gone out of there was to fix the situation. We didn't call earlier since we figured it just hadn't had time to cool the room since the AC wasn't on. We were only staying one night, so I didn't call late at night for help.

Their service level was superb. I needed to modify my computer system demo for my work urgently and, unfortunately, I didn't bring keyboard and mouse with me. Hotel staff removed keyboard and mouse from their front desk system and allowed me to use them in my room. They also let me use HIDM cable from hotel conference room so that I can use TV in my room as a computer monitor. They saved my day!

Racist!
I'm an opera singer, so if a composer had a coffee at a hotel, I want to stay there. This one had the Mozart factor, so of course I wanted to stay.

The staff were INCREDIBLE, and I found one of the three other woman motorcyclists in Germany. She was completely sweet and lovely!

The bar staff were a bit condescending and disinterested, but we're a middle-aged couple, and we're from San Francisco, so we felt right at home!

This hotel is clean, wonderful, and well-situated. The football celebrations happened outside our window and we could close our window and it was a quiet sanctuary.

A quiet sanctuary with super-racist iconography that I didn't notice until I went to use the restroom. The hotel name is one thing. The choice to use African caricatures is another, and recent. While I'm sure the hotel will say that it's not racist and that that's not the intent, this is a dangerously tone-deaf and typical of such a homogenous area - white people telling people what is and isn't racist.

If the hotel chooses to contact me, I prefer it to be by the staff member of African descent who was involved in the branding decision.

Disappointing, but despite how wonderful this hotel is, I couldn't in good conscience stay here again. It's also encouraged me to add \"racist\" to my list of search words.

Kudos for a copy of the teachings of the buddha next to the bible.

I am very disappointed of the new management. They changed the in-house front office system (Opera) and they lost my profile. I had to change three times the room to be successful,. Because she did not understand English. Then at dinner I ordered the lobster sandwich and they placed the platter on I nearby table. All the time I had to reach over to this table - what kind of service this ? Unexceptible. The price to high the sandwich to sweet. The housekeeper next morning knocked on the door by 8:00 am and wanted to clean the room. How unfriendly is this? After having a conversation the assistant manager he was not able to take any action to solve the issues during my stay - it seems like he had no attention to understand my situation. I strongly recommend to send him to a workshop of handling guest experience.

The Drei Mohren was centrally located, the staff was wonderful, and the room was clean, comfortable, and quiet.

Excellent restaurant

this hotel has an excellent restaurant where I had a superb steak for lunch
the staff were obliging and took my bags to my room while I returned the hire car
It is close to the centre of town and has a taxi rank right outside the door
