I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Lecce, and I went in with pretty high expectations since it’s a 4 star hotel. On the positive side, it was nice enough for a stay in terms of basic convenience and the general location.

However, I was genuinely surprised at how dated the room felt. Everything inside seemed quite old and a bit cramped, which didn’t match the four-star expectation I had. It just didn’t have that fresh, modern feel you’d hope for in a hotel of that rating. So while it was okay for a short stay, I have to say I was a bit disappointed by how outdated the room felt overall.

The location is perfect, not far from the old city centre but in a quiet area, no noisy at all. The hotel looks very nice: clean and tidy.

Hotel and staff were nice. Breakfast was better than your average hotel. Rom was spacious and had a huge closet. Parking was close, right outside.

We had a car and parked in an underground garage (Parkejoo) near the town when we visited the town. Would be about a 20 minute walk and lots of intersections and cross-streets. Plus we had a stroller. So we drove back and forth from hotel to middle of town.

The hotel was 20 minutes walk out of old town but in a nice neighbourhood with some great local cafes.
The hotel was good but lacked a few things...The wifi was slow and not really accessible from pool area.. No milk pods in room, you had to purchase it from their pantry... The pillows were too soft and had no support We asked for more firm, possibly with neck support and they gave us a flat sponge pillow, no night than an inch, I've ended up with sore neck and shoulders from our 6 nights stay.
Breakfast was great, with good selection and staff all winderful

The staff was great but too far from the city centre to be convenient for tourists .
Taxis are expensive for short trips so add another 20-30 euro on your stay probably better to stay closer to the city centre

I was streaming sport in the room at 9 am and they wouldn’t after paying for breakfast allow me to take my coffee and crossient to the room … just rubbish

Two night stop over.

Two day break following on from Polignano before our departure. Pool on the roof is good but windy and no bar although they will bring drinks up. Lunch was average and breakfast pretty much the same although very acceptable. Staff were very kind and attentive and room quality was good(suite) but the air conditioning let it down badly. Taxi drive to and from town at night as it’s a bit too far although it is walkable but when it’s still hot at 6pm it’s the last on your mind.

Nice hotel in the suburbs of Lecce

This hotel located away from the city centre. On the plus side, there is free parking and it was never a problem to find a space for our car. However, we took taxis in and out of Lecce during our three-day stay and they cost €15 each way. We found the staff to be really helpful and friendly – especially Lino and Valentina (who gave us some good restaurant recommendations). We liked the fact that there was a phone-charging facility at the reception desk. Bedrooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was fine – with a good choice available. The WiFi was just ok – we had to keep re-entering the password a couple of times a day which was a bit annoying.

Clean, big rooms. Walking Distance to City Center.

The hotel is clean and comfy as expected. The staff was great and very helpful. Room was big and bathroom had lots of space. The hotel is walking distance to Lecce City Center if you are up for a 15-20min walk. This makes driving and parking (free onsite) a car pretty easy, but also means its a bit on the outer ring of the city. We'd stay here again.

Loved lecce walked into town several times - 20-25 mins as long as you don't get lost, went in by shuttle a couple of times.
Good food in hotel and lecce.
Noisy room on 5th floor with balcony must be generators on roof- couldn't sleepx
Overall a good holiday in lecce visited other places by tour trips xxx

great hotel, staff were all really helpful and friendly. The rooms were superb, faciltiies were excellent, including the rooftop pool and spa area. Breakfast was really amazing, including fresh waffles and ice cream! Also they catered for gluten and dairy free really well. Good location, with free parking and about 20 minutes walk into the main piazza.

Decent Hotel Let Down by Pool & Spa

My room was comfortable and the staff were excellent at all times. Unfortunately the pool was freezing and I couldn't stand to be in it for longer than a few minutes despite the weather being very hot. In addition the jacuzzi and steam room (which cost 25 euros) were both way too cold.

Hilton Garden Inn is a little further out of Lecce than we would have liked. Probably a 15 minutes walk for the healthy. However this was not a problem. The hotel provides a shuttle bus or bicycles to get in and out of town. Unfortunately there is a cost which is a little annoying but not restrictive. Otherwise the hotel was brilliant. Rooms, breakfast, shower, service etc couldn’t be faulted. A special mention for Marco on reception as he was extremely accommodating and a pleasure.

Good modern hotel just too far from city centre

This is a perfectly reasonable hotel with good facilities but it is not really close enough to the town centre to walk and the hotel's shuttle service stops too early and requires advance booking which makes it not very usable. It is a really a 30 minute walk to the town centre especially on a hot day and perhaps carrying a rucksack - we timed it. It is, however, a good location for visiting the surrounding area if you have a car.
We tried to check in at 14:00 - check in time is 15:00. Room wasn't ready so we agreed we'd go the pool and were told we would be let know when the room was ready. We weren't.
We were given a room with 2 queen beds and an extra bed. The problem with the configuration is that the room feels cramped and there is no light switch or bedside table on one side of each bed. Not terrible but not ideal.

The hotel was conveniently located as a base for exploring Southern Puglia. It was clean and comfortable although lacked a bit of character. The room was large, clean and well appointed. The breakfast was adequate but average.

Set in a pleasant residential area, but quite a walk to the historic centre (the hotel estimates 20 minutes) . The hotel has a shuttle to the centre which runs from 09.00 - 20.00 ( save for a mid-day break) and can be pre-booked (8 seats max) for 6€ return. If a taxi is needed the cost seems to be around 15€ for 2 people to or from the centre if you want to eat late in the city. Taxis quite hard to find but most restaurants will order you one.
Restaurant OK but not outstanding. Popular with tours, so the breakfast can be very busy with staff trying to cope as food and crockery runs out and needs replenishing. There are a couple of small supermarkets within 5 minutes walk.
Pool area is small but good, but, again, can get busy when the tours get back to base.
Very good lifts! No luggage porters but free luggage trollies for guests.

The dryer will not fully dry a load of clothes. They will not let you set the a/c below 20 Celsius. I had a broken shower head, a broken t.p. dispenser, no Caulk around the frame of the showers so water poured out onto floors. The room fridges were very tiny! The staff was nice but not very accommodating besides one by the name of Ludovicia I believe. The pool closes at 7pm and a angry little man ushers you out even prior to that so he can be done picking up outside and be done with his job at 7pm. Way too early for a pool to be closing!

Ideal city break hotel.

This was a few days city break looking at local sights; city centre was an easy walk from the hotel, and the road network to other towns was also easily accessible. Hotel was easy to find using SatNav and had ample free parking available outside, with a barrier that came down overnight. Restaurants were available in town but the hotel meals were good with excellent service so we had dinner there on 2 out of the 3 nights we stayed. Breakfast choice was extensive, staff were helpful and attentive, and we lacked for nothing in that regard.

Great hotel, breakfast & location within walking distance to all the history of Lecce!

Negatives: Nice roof top pool closed to early so never had time to use. Convenient laundry facility was expensive to use & antiquated dryer took forever. Spa seemed to be run independently & staff were a little rude. Other hotel staff were excellent!

Best hotel of all on our month trip!

Food and beverage was bad

The hotel itself is very good. The staff at the reception was friedly and the women cleaning the rooms are doint a very good job. Food and beverage however(especially breakfast in the morning) was very poor. One waiter didn't even care to ask me what I would like to drink and during the whole breakfast never cleared the empty or almost empty plates on the table. I was the only guest in the restaurant but I dind't seem to exist

Quiet Hotel with good facilities

Friendly helpful staff with comfortable relaxed lounge areas, decent gym and roof top pool. No need to use the garage parking as ample free street parking right outside. We had a twin bed room with 1200mm beds so space a little cramped but adequate, suspect the double bed rooms would have more space. Three speedy lifts service all floors so never needed to wait. Restaurant and bar lunch & dinner were very good with excellent service though limited choice. Full breakfast was over priced at 15 euro the hot food unappetizing, the short 5 euro breakfast was insufficient and never enough cups.
Town center was a 20 minute walk, through quiet well lit streets.

spacious rooms on the outskirts of the city.

we stayed here for 3 nights. the reception staff were very helpful. this is the only hotel where we didn't have to ask for the wifi login details, they automatically gave it to us which is a nice touch. The breakfast was extremely disappointing, in fact the worst we have ever experienced. if we had of known we wouldn't have paid extra for it. Next time i would stay here on a room only rate.

expensive for what you get. the rooms are clean and modern but the food is very expensive if you happen to need to eat at hotel. it is not near anything so you really have to take the shuttle into town or a taxi. the breakfast was very ver basic. the view was of a car park. If i was exploring lecce i would stay near or in the old town. I definitely wouldn't come back to this hotel or recommen it because of poor location, price, view and breakfast.

Picked this hotel as desciption said close to city centre but actually a good half hour walk away. Loved the hotel but was very disappointed that the 2 rooms I booked were not next to each other as we were a family with 2 toddlers, but they were only a few doors away so it was workable. Pool lovely but freezing and very little room to walk around the edge also very very disappointed that there were not changing facilities and yet the hotel did not allow you to walk around the hotel in swimwear so difficult gettting back to your room in wet clothes. Restaurant food selection very limited and nothing much for small children, pizzas not served in the evening and rates were very expensive.

This hotel is not in the centre of Lecce, it's a 20 min walk wherever you go, very inconvenient if you are only on foot. It is very modern and clean as well as comfortable. But the reception stuck us with a 60 euro bill EXTRA simply because we were a couple and not single in a room!

Fantastic service

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The outdoor swimming pool on the roof was great. We enoyed the breakfast with fresh waffels. The quality of service was also top. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I appreciated that they let us use the pc even after the check-out time. We wish we could stay there longer.

Great hotel option in Lecce

This is a great hotel. The room very modern and clean. The bed was the most comfy of our whole trip! Lovely nights sleep. The reception was pretty slow and took a while to get attention on occasions. Also the pool only has limited beds for sun bathing.

The hotel is a little far from town but an easy 15-20 minute walk. We knew this when booking so was not a problem. Free parking was great!

I would recommend this hotel for anyone that wants a good night sleep and is not bothered by a walk into town.

a business hotel?

Stayed 2 nights inside a 2-week trip around Italy. This hotel seemed the most business-oriented hotel among the 8 we experienced. The staff was courteous and professional, the rooms clean and neat. The place did not seem as personal as the others. Exercise room was among the best of the 8; the roof-top pool was awesome. The dining room was separated from the banquet facility by a cloth divider, and an event generated substantial noise during our dinner, though the food was very good. Bartenders very nice and helpful. We enjoyed our stay, but it did feel business-like.

Great hotel for business or holiday traveler

New, nicely designed hotel located an easy 20 minutes (on foot) from city center. The room was large and confortable, The fitness center was well equipped and the Spa & Wellness center looked good too.
I had lunch in the hotel restaurant and the quality of the food was very good. Perhaps the prices are high compared to same dishes downtown, but this is a Hotel afterall.
Breakfast buffet was considerably better than what can usually be found in Italian hotels; usual pastries, croissants, cold cuts and yoghurts but also some hot choices like eggs and sausages.
The hotel is off of a main road so fairly easy to get to. The area it is located in is very quiet and the parking structure is safe.
After years of staying in more central hotels I will make the switch to this hotel for my monthly visits as the high quality and reasonable price fit my needs nicely.

Not in the center but can be a good choice

The hotel is located around 15 min walk from the city center, they also have a convenient free shuttle to the airport or center. As we had a car it was easy to park in the area and at the same time visit Lecce or take the highway to the surroundings towns. Room quality is of good standard. The bed and linen are just some of the best we have tried yet! Only negative point is the fact the hotel is full of wall speakers playing some sort of elevator music in loop all day long. You can hear the annoying music from away as you walk past the parking, on the corridors, etc. One night I was awaken at midnight as people walked around and turned the music on (they are turned on by proximity sensors) at a very loud level! Management should sort that one...

Super hotel with excellent facilities

This is a superb new hotel with everything you expect of a top-rate Hilton. The rooms are comfortable and the staff helpful and friendly. All the fixtures and fittings are of the highest quality. In answer to previous posts, the pool is fully operational, and transport is available free of charge to the city centre on request. However you need to tell reception when you want to be picked up, as it is only arranged on request. For two of us, they used a Mercedes.
The hotel is in a fairly upmarket area of new apartment blocks and there are a few shops. However the city centre is not too far away.
Bike hire is available at about 5 euros per half day, and is well worth considering as a means of easily exploring the city's narrow streets. Easy, as the city is virtually flat.
Has a good restaurant and a self service laundry.

Amazing Hotel for a Great Price, not centrally located

This hotel was very nice for an amazing price. The lobby was large and very nice, the elevator was fast and the rooms were quiet. The hotel had many amenities that most Italian hotels don't. It had a swimming pool and a washer and dryer available for guest use on the 7th floor for 3 Euro a wash and 3 Euro for a dry which was great for us traveling for 2 weeks with only carry on bags. The room was large and spacious and very new and clean. The bathroom was also a great size. Their breakfast buffet was simply amazing. It had eggs you could boil, waffles to make with toppings, a large selection of fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, bread, dried fruit and some hot dishes as well like sausage etc. It was the best breakfast at a hotel I have ever seen. The only small drawback was it is not really centrally located. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to the center of town and the train station is 30-40 minutes, basically on the opposite side of town, but all the positives definitely override that. The front desk staff said a taxi to the train station would be 15-17 Euro. The hotel was also about 20 minute walk from the bus station. There was no shuttle service that we knew of during our stay as others have said. Overall this hotel was superb and I would gladly stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Weekend at Hilton Lecce

The hotel is quite new and it's in very good condition. Good service and comfort. The only thing is that is a bit far from the central part of Lecce, but we had rented a car and that wasn't a problem as bycar it takes only 5min. I would for sure come back at the hotel if I come back to Lecce.

We very much enjoyed our stay

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Hilton. Helpful, friendly staff. We wish that we had stayed longer in Lecce so that we could have enjoyed the swimming pool and other attractions in the area. The nearby beaches are beautiful. Highly recommend.

Petit déjeuner nul.

ATTENTION
Quartier qui craint. La nuit où nous y étions, des touristes français se sont fait voler leur voiture stationné devant le Hilton. Très fréquent selon le personnel (1 à 2 véhicules par mois!). Il vous reste le parking de l’hôtel … qui est payant!

Séjour agréable avec piscine sur le rooftop

Nous avons passé deux nuits à l’Hilton Garden Inn à Lecce et en sommes globalement satisfaits. L’hôtel est agréable, les chambres sont propres et bien insonorisées, même si nous avons ressenti une odeur de cigarette dans la nôtre. Le petit-déjeuner était plaisant et la piscine sur le rooftop est un vrai plus.

Fina rum och bra service, utmärkt städning. Fin pool på taket men slitna stolar och även ganska slitet överlag på taket. Bra gym, bra frukost och lagom nära centrum (ca 1800 meter), bra promenadavstånd. Litet minus för avsaknad av duschvägg/draperi vid badkaret samt dålig ventilation i badrummen. I övrigt ett mycket bra hotell!

Hotels hadde rotet med bestillingen. Forskuddsbetalte, men hotellet hadde ikke fått opplysninger. Mye rot i forhold til dette. Tidkrevende og frustrerende.
Fikk super oppgradering av rommet. Luftig, nydelig rom med veranda og egen sittegruppe.

Séjour de 3 nuits dans cet hôtel grand et un peu impersonnel. Grande chambre très confortable et calme, et très bon restaurant pour le dîner. Petit déjeuner correct sans plus mais copieux, par contre les chariots pour débarrasser font un peu ''cantine''. Une navette pour se rendre dans le centre-ville de Lecce serait la bienvenue. Cependant l'hôtel présente un bon rapport qualité-prix. Le parking gratuit sur les rues est aussi un plus.

Pas très loin du centre historique , un hôtel au calme . Les chambres sont plutôt spacieuses
Au niveau confort, on oublie les peignoirs et chaussons (utiles pour plusieurs nuits) les produits de beauté sont remplacer par des bidons …bien scellés …. Et le frigo est vide . Il faut rajouter 7€ pour le moindre room service

Værelset var fint, dog med nogle fejl, der trækker ned. Bruser meget tilkalket, det samme var kanten i d til brusekabinen. Cisterneknappen skulle altid have et ekstra specielt tryk, ellers løb vandet. Ellers rigtig pænt badeværelse. Der manglede en separat sengelampe, kunne kun tænde mindst 4-5 lamper ad gangen eller loftlyset i hele rummet. Gulvtæppe virkede ikke beskidte, men lidt nusset og det samme med alle håndklæderne, som ikke længere var hvide. Ingen glas på værelse eller badeværelse, kun tynde plastikkrus.
Fint med valg mellem gratis parkering foran hotellet og betalingsparkerering i kælderen under hotellet.
Morgenmad lidt kaostisk. Var der tre nætter og spiste hhv kl. 8, 8:30 og 9. Hver gang var der mange borde der manglede afrydning, ingen kaffekopper ved kaffemaskinen, kun pap- og plastikbægre. Virkede som om der var for lidt personale. Fandt først ud af sidste dag, at der faktisk var en barista. Han var der ikke de første to morgener. Generelt for meget engangsservice. Det er vel efterhånden et no go.
Rigtig dejligt pool-område.
Lidt for store og overhovedet ikke hyggelige veje hvis man ville gå de halvanden km til den historiske del af byen. Vi fandt en p-kælder (Parkejoo) der lå meget centralt til 2 € pr. time. Når man kommer op fra kælderen krydses vejen ved fodgængerovergangen, og så kan man skrå ind på en lille plads og ind bag en stor bygning og så er man i den historiske del.
Den historiske bydel var virkelig hyggelig at går rundt i.
