The hotel is under a much needed renovation, but was still quite noisy. The hotel doors slam loudly and traffic noise is loud if room is on Wilkinson Blvd. side of the hotel. Hopefully, the renovation helps this.

Very nice, the only reason for the lower score is that the hotel was under construction and some things weren't available because of that. My biggest disappointment was that nothing in the hotel was open while I was there on a Sunday night, the lounge and restaurant were both closed. The downtown area is within walking distance, but I did not feel safe walking there alone at night.

Room had stained toilet seat lid, dry rotting curtains, small TV, harassive cleaners that started bothering me before 7am and did so 3 times! Back entrance by the parking lot had a messed up key reader. Expedia showed a $10 credit for snacks which was not the case! They had some janky snack white bag for you with no choices! So you may not be able to even eat the items they give!

This was our 4th stay at this hotel over the past 15 or so years. Previously the hotel was always clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. During our recent stay the rooms were very worn and we discovered the hotel was under renovation. As a result, the hotel was very short staffed, so we received no housekeeping services and had to pick up room supplies at the front desk. The staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. Although our stay was subpar compared to previous stays, it served our purpose. This property will be spectacular after the remodel is complete, until then, you may want to consider staying elsewhere. I feel like we should have been notified of the renovation during the reservation process, so we could have considered alternative arrangements. I'll stay here again after renovations are complete.

The power to the hotel blacked out, a little after 10:00 pm. And, didn’t resume, until a little after 5:00 am. The light switch in the bathroom was in need of repair. Also, there was a dead ladybug on the bed.

The outside of the building was falling apart and the hotel was very dated. Land line phones, don’t think the TV was even high def, very few electrical outlets in the room. No USB in the room. Fridge and microwave looked 20 years old. The indoor pool was closed which was a bummer since we had two kids looking forward to swimming. The pictures show a nice beautiful waterfall in the lobby. The waterfall was out of service and looked/smelled disgusting. Also, the hotel lobby areas did not have heat. The lady at check in was very friendly, however later that night we needed towels and were basically told to come down and get them ourselves. This hotel also allows pets, which might be fine for some people, however we were woken up by dogs barking in the middle of the night. Would not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It’s the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my life.

Don't believe the pictures when looking at hotel this online. Pictures make it look great and after reading the reviews we booked for a night.
Hotel has a great foyer but fountain doesn't work and sign stating pardon our mess (and there was one). Upon entering the room I saw where holes had been drilled into the dresser and the decor of the room literally screamed the 80's want their hotel back. VERY dated.
We booked this hotel because the site said there was a restaurant and lounge. We had been driving all day and was looking forward to a quiet dinner and sleep. Well, the restaurant was not open and the lounge was only open for dinner hours with a limited menu. Lounge was so cold there was an electric fireplace set against a wall and customers could be heard \"I'm going to get my jacket\" prior to eating. The fireplace must have been for ambiance only because it put out no heat. Mind you, this is just off the lobby.
If you are just looking for a place to sleep, its OK but if you're looking for a more up to date place to sleep, eat and lounge, recommend finding somewhere else.

The rooms are run down, my shower head leaked so bad that it sprayed over the shower curtain, my blankets legit had cigarette burns in them. Not joking. And if you're room is on the street side, it's unbelievably loud. Also most uncomfortable bed ive slept in. Locals i talked to all know to avoid this place

This property was once very nice. That was several years ago. It was quite tired and you could tell things were not being fixed on an ongoing basis. Although the staff were excellent - both at check-in and at the lobby bar, and breakfast buffet, the building itself needs a serious amount of TLC. The workout room was quite dissappointing. It has very, very old equipment and is generally the size of a large bathroom or tiny bedroom. I would not stay here again - although - again, the staff were excellent.

The Lobby was very impressive, and the staff were incredibly friendly and kind. The rooms did not match the lobby. There was a dirty towel on the sink as soon as we walked in, I just kicked it under the sink because the rest of the room looked clean. The bathroom had chipped tiles, as did the toilet seat. We got a room with a pullout couch and the mattress was very uncomfortable. There wasn't anything special about the rooms. We attended for a convention, so it was nice to be able to be close to our room.

This is my third time staying at the Capital Plaza and don't plan on staying anywhere else when visiting the area (Bourbon Trail). The front desk staff was excellent, very friendly and informative. We felt very welcomed. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We were on a long road trip and this was our 7th place we stayed and it, by far, had the most comfortable bed! I didn't want to get out. We were beyond satisfied. The breakfast was good, the attendant and chef were very friendly. We love Capital Plaza and will be staying there again in the future!

They will be under construction for next year… hopefully not too expensive because it’s affordable today $109.00 per night. Room is clean and comfortable THE PHONE is broken and they cannot replace system old….couldnt call my room to check in and the fridge was cold which is a good thing lol.

Check in was quick and easy. Parking was not convenient. Had to pull up front to unload and then go around the block to park in the public parking garage. Once you got used to the walking back and forth - garage to hotel and vice versa, you get used to it. The rooms were very nice - clean and comfortable. The staff was quick to respond with incidentals and answering question. The restaurant closes early on the weekend so there wasnt any food served after 9, on Friday evening.. not even small snacks available in the lounge. We were really hungry. Overall, we LOVED this hotel and will definitely come back just rearrange our schedule to accommodate theirs

We were there for a whole week and no one came in to clean. We had to leave out trash cans in the hall way to have them emptied. It looked loke they only had housekeeping after checkout.

This hotel is an older facility that is safe and in a good location, but it’s showing its age. The hotel is fairly priced for its condition. Parking is convenient and it was easy to go from the parking garage to the hotel. Our room had no soap the first night, we got some from the front desk the next morning. The shower head was so small in volume that it was truly difficult to take a shower. It rained the second night and our window leaked quite a bit of water inside. The hotel was quiet and safe and the beds were comfy. Again, I thought it was fairly priced.

Having breakfast included was a plus, though the eggs seemed to be made from powdered, or non egg substitute (no flavor).
The room needed to be upgraded...stained carpet; bathroom was not very clean, and it had a broken plug (which was promptly fixed when reported). Also, the flapper in the toilet needed to be replaced, and the fan was unpredictable.
Coffee maker and refrigerator worked fine.

Mostly outdated feel like you’re walking into 80/90s - would be an amazing hotel if updated and kept clean. No refrigerator or microwave in room. Pool was good but the pool house is falling apart and very outdated limited seating that wasn’t also falling apart. Bar area and lobby area mostly great. Breakfast was not fantastic but I’ve had worse. All in all okay stay just wish it was more updated and felt cleaner.
