The listing for this hotel is false advertisement. On arrival, the pool, bar and restaurant are all under construction. I understand things need to be rebuilt but, a hotel shouldn't charge normal room rates when the amenities you pay for aren't accessible.

We've stayed here twice this year and once 2 years ago. It's so run down. Electrical wiring is outdated, rooms smell, everything you see, touch is overused and in poor condition. The food at the breakfast area was bland and disappointing. We won't be back.

Major renovations are underway at this property. So, a lot of the building is being worked on. This isn’t necessarily a terrible thing, but, it did mean it was a little messy. The rooms themselves are definitely dated which is why they’re renovating. The hotel, when it’s done, will likely be very nice again but that takes time. For our 1-night stay it was completely fine and we had no issues. It’s nice and close to the Buffalo Trace Distillery (about 4-5 minute drive) and you can easily walk downtown from the location as well. Parking is easy in the adjacent ramp as well.

Our room itself was clean and comfortable, and so our overall stay was pleasant. But the facility itself is in huge disarray due to construction, which I understand has been ongoing since 2025 and not expected to be finished until late 2027. It would have been nice to know this ahead of time. It was quite shocking because the entire first floor was completely dismantled, and massive scaffolding outside. And the breakfast offerings were sub-par, so we did not even try anything other than some juice and milk. I still have to say that the room was nice and fairly well up to date, so A+ for that.

The new parking ramp is nice. The room was clean the breakfast was great. The hotel main floor was being renovated so the restaurant/bar was closed. There were construction noises starting early. The construction vehicles were all parked in the loading area on checkout so loading our luggage had to be done in the transit authority driveway, and that wasn't layed out for that.

THE HOTEL IS UNDER MASSIVE RENOVATION. It was posted that the pool and work-out room were going to be closed all year, but nothing was noted about the rest of the renovation that is being done. THe front lobby smells very musty. The bar area was not open as it is part of the front lobby renovation. Our room was very \"humid\" and that made that dirty carpet feel \"damp\". None of the lights in the room worked, and the maintenance guy said he has to reset the breaker for the room, and they were fine but the outlet in the bathroom did not work so I couldn't use the hairdryer in the bathroom and there were no outlets close enough to the mirror on the wall by the bed so I had nowhere to plug my own hairdryer in.
The breakfast offerings were not very good.

If you’re going to stay here bring your own sheets and comforter. They were stained or not washed, not sure. We also did not know that they are going through a renovation. There’s no pool, lounge or bar. Wish we would have known before hand. To top it off, we left our room for 2 hours and my husband realized he left his AirPods at the room. He can track them. Before arriving back to the room he saw the at the we’re out of the case. When we got back to hotel room they weren’t there. The staff had already cleaned the room. We thought that they may have washed them. He was taken to the laundry room not weren’t there. The AirPods were further away from the case so we knew they were taken. LOCK YOUR THINGS! Do not leave ANYTHING out!

Parking was challenging. Wasn't part of the hotel. You have to park in public parking. Hotel is under construction to remodel or fix the ran down state it was in. Breakfast was not great but not horrible. Price was for location not condition of stay. It was overpriced though. It was still the cheapest near downtown. Frankfort was very beautiful. Walking distance to downtown area. Old capitol is a block away.

I left an item in my room and couldn’t reach an employee to help me for days and days . They kept telling me someone would eventually call me back from housekeeping .
The item was never found , meanwhile I was certain i left it in there , it was just a matter of forgetting to grab it . Awful customer service and untrustworthy staff

Staff did a great job greeting us, providing parking directions, restaurant suggestions. Free breakfast had a great selection of hot and cold options. Hotel is under construction, so restaurant and pool were closed. Also room was run down, very weak water pressure in shower and toilet made weird noises after flushing, I'm sure these things will be addressed in the renovation.

Property was under renovations- Our room was ok. Water pressure in the shower was poor. They were aware there were 3 in the room and we were using the sofa bed which was a tight squeeze and no room to get out of the bed. Plus there were no extra sheets or pillows until we asked. Plugs were all loose and phone cords would not stay on the walls. Other than that staff were al kind and breakfast was good. Might consider returning after renovations.

The Capital Plaza Hotel was an excellent place to stay. The location to historic downtown Frankfort was perfect- it is just a short walk to the middle of the downtown with plenty to eat & drink. The hotel is across the street from a scenic trail if you want to take a stroll. They are renovating so it will be even better in the future. The parking garage is behind the hotel & open 24/7. The only thing that I might have an opinion about is the view. You have to be pretty high up to get a view of the river or the city so don't expect anything spectacular on that point.

The bar war closed. Parking was convient.
Upon arrival there was hair on one of the beds.
The furniture was dated and broken. The refrigerator was bent and wobbly unstable and not plugged in when we arrived. There were lose baseboards leaning up to the wall unattached. The desk had several visible scratches that were not pleasing to the eye. The rolling desk chair was stained. There was no manger on duty to address the concerns. I was highly disappointed after paying so much for this room. Please read the reviews before booking with this establishment.

Was pleasantly surprised at this hotel. Even though it was under renovation the staff tried really hard to keep that as a minimum disruption to the guests. Great breakfast that was more than was represented. When we showed up with a utility trailer that wouldn’t fit in the parking garage, the desk employee helped us find a place to park. Would stay there again.

Do not stay at this hotel. The room shabby, bathtub stained, shower malfunctioning. The mattresses were lumpy. Hotel was supposedly under construction, they should not be renting roooms until the supposed construction is completed. I felt like I was at the Bate's Hotel. Overall not a good experience.

Simple checkin and parking. Hospitable staff. Undergoing renovation in main areas, which I knew when booked. It should be nice when they are done. Spacious but outdated room. Carpet was very old and stained and smelled like dog when we did not bring a pet ourselves so shouldn’t have been put in that room. Pet rooms should be allocated to guests with pets. Breakfast subpar. Walkable to historical downtown which was really cool. Also had free trolley tour hop on and off which stopped right inside parking structure. Very convenient. Did chocolate candy tour and was fun.

Unfortunately the hotel was being renovated and this was not disclosed on booking. I was woken at 7:30 in the morning with hammering and drilling directly above my room. It’s a good thing they are renovating. The carpet is old and filthy, the curtains are stained and there are many areas which need improvements. Great to have convenient and secure parking, breakfast included was edible. Staff were very polite and friendly.

They are going through a remodel, so the mess is understandable. But no one told us no one was going to bring towels, etc.
In fact, we were given a sheet that said if we didn't want staff changing linens, bringing fresh towels, emptying trash, to put the do not disturb sign on the door. We were also given an envelope to leave a tip in.
But when we didn't have any towels after the second day we went to the desk to get some towels and they told us the staff wasn't going to rooms anymore. Felt like we should have been told that up front.

Very nice, the only reason for the lower score is that the hotel was under construction and some things weren't available because of that. My biggest disappointment was that nothing in the hotel was open while I was there on a Sunday night, the lounge and restaurant were both closed. The downtown area is within walking distance, but I did not feel safe walking there alone at night.

Room had stained toilet seat lid, dry rotting curtains, small TV, harassive cleaners that started bothering me before 7am and did so 3 times! Back entrance by the parking lot had a messed up key reader. Expedia showed a $10 credit for snacks which was not the case! They had some janky snack white bag for you with no choices! So you may not be able to even eat the items they give!

This was our 4th stay at this hotel over the past 15 or so years. Previously the hotel was always clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. During our recent stay the rooms were very worn and we discovered the hotel was under renovation. As a result, the hotel was very short staffed, so we received no housekeeping services and had to pick up room supplies at the front desk. The staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. Although our stay was subpar compared to previous stays, it served our purpose. This property will be spectacular after the remodel is complete, until then, you may want to consider staying elsewhere. I feel like we should have been notified of the renovation during the reservation process, so we could have considered alternative arrangements. I'll stay here again after renovations are complete.

The outside of the building was falling apart and the hotel was very dated. Land line phones, don’t think the TV was even high def, very few electrical outlets in the room. No USB in the room. Fridge and microwave looked 20 years old. The indoor pool was closed which was a bummer since we had two kids looking forward to swimming. The pictures show a nice beautiful waterfall in the lobby. The waterfall was out of service and looked/smelled disgusting. Also, the hotel lobby areas did not have heat. The lady at check in was very friendly, however later that night we needed towels and were basically told to come down and get them ourselves. This hotel also allows pets, which might be fine for some people, however we were woken up by dogs barking in the middle of the night. Would not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It’s the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my life.
