I made reservations through expedia and paid for two nights. I called expedia ( 24 hrs prior to second night check in time) to cancel the second night and get a refund but I was told I would have to arrange that with the hotel. The hotel manager was never available in person or over the phone. I did not get a refund. I wont be using expedia again and I definitely don't recommend paying in advance for a hotel rooms at this hotel.

Cute little town.

Creel was the beginning of our venture in to the Copper Canyon. It is a simple place and difficult to find a good cafe americano, but food was good, souvenirs were cheap and plentiful and it was nice to walk around. The hotel was very pulled together.
The owner Caesar was knowledgeable and his guides were great, but be very careful of pricing. Write it down to make sure u r on same page.

Mixed experience. Close to town but far from reception area (2 blocks). Room building was still under construction (photo attached). Reception desk frequently unstaffed. Room was clean but lacked potable water and glasses, which were requested but never delivered. No privacy curtains on first floor room. Beds were comfortable.

Everything was good except for tours. We paid $35 each for a tour of some rock formations 20 minutes away from town for 5 hrs and hiking that we were not told of and my husband cannot do that. I hiked while he stayed behind. Plus every area we went into cost us $4 more

Bad checkin and bed bug problems

TWO MAIN ISSUES - and the most important one....we arrived a day early so our stay was 3 days - not two...the first night we had some bites - assuming they were mosquitoes or such...by the third and last night, my husband and I were covered with BEDBUG bites...we would like to make this known so other visitors don't experience this nightmare....you can imagine the undertaking of fumigating our luggage, clothing, personal items on our return home. - never mind the physical and metal discomfit . our room was #2 in the sister hostel/hotel of Plaza Mexicana Margarita - as I recall, the name is Casa Margarita.

Second issue - when they could'nt find our reservation, they blamed Hotels.com. They said you don't get it right and the reservation communication is inconsistent.

Very helpful stafff

\"Margarita\" actually has two hotels that function in tandem. Both are fine, but the rooms in the one away from the plaza (where meals are served) are larger and more comfortable, as is the central courtyard around which the rooms are arranged. The staff was very helpful.

Least part of a 2 month trip. Creel is a long street with no charm. Hotel promised a strong wifi and did not deliver. Son of owner tried to persuade me to change plans in the Copper Canyon to a family owned hotel outside the town of Batopilas.

They didnt have our reservation, so i had to call expedia and tjey call them back to fix the issue, while we wait over 30 min at the front desk, also the staff was a bit unprofessional, check in was at 11am, our room was dirty and they cleaned it till 2pm, no curtains on the window, no bath curtain either. Its pretty close from everything, they offer tours, the tour staff is very polite.

I liked the policy of offering a package that included breakfast and dinner with the room. That said, on two of my four days, the hotel was full and the dining room and staff were overwhelmed by too many people wanting to be served within a short period of time.

Their cash-only policy for payments is fair enough, but I wish I had known that before I arrived.

I had reserved and paid for this hotel about a month in advance. After driving about 16 hours to get there, the owner had given our room to someone else. I had to make quick arrangements at a different hotel far from downtown. I was refunded by hotel.com, but do not trust the hotel people because if someone approaches them and offers them more money they will give away your room.

A dreadfull experience

A dreadful experience.
We had made the reservation around two weeks prior to the stay but on arrival we learned we had been bumped down to an annex 100m away, to accommodate a tour group. The annex had no reception, no towels, no food facility, no working wi fi, so we had to walk back and forth to the main building ( Creel in February is below zero ).
On arrival, we were told that dinner was available any time between 6 30 and 8 00. Later we were called to be informed that dinner was at 8 30, no choice, again to give priority to the tour group.
Beer was on display in a drinks cabinet in the restaurant. On request to buy a beer, the staff found the cabinet locked and nobody had a key. We sent up the street to buy a beer in a shop.
All this in off peak January / February.
No offer of compensation was made, and none of the staff had any English to make any attempt at argument about the shambles worth the effort.
This was the biggest diappointment of our trip through Mexico.

NO HOT WATER!!!

The hotel was well maintained and clean, although I had problems getting hot water. Originally, I was planning to spend two nights at this Hotel. Since they couldn´t fix the hot water issue (after I asked three times in one day) I ended up having to take a cold shower the following day (in 35° weather). I contacted Expedia to let them know about my problem.
Expedia contacted the hotel to approve the cancellation and they refused. Immediately while I was on hold for about 20 minutes, the same member of maintenance who was supposed to fix the water issue, showed up to my room and like a miracle, we had hot water! I THINK THAT IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT AFTER MY PHONE CALL TO EXPEDIA, FINALLY THEY TURNED ON THE WATER HEATER.
The front desk staff was very nice as well as the restaurant staff, but the food was not that good.

Charming!

We loved our room. Accidentally booked the deluxe room which included a kitchenette, but what a happy accident. Beautiful tile work throughout kitchenette and bathroom. All rooms face a lovely, interior courtyard. Our room included breakfast and dinner, and although there was no choice, the meals were adequate, the staff friendly and the setting a convivial one with multinational guests. We would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Pleasant, but frustrating

This hotel provides value for money provided you can put up with frustrations like poor water pressure, the occasional cold shower and nowhere to hang clothes or towels in the bathroom. Breakfast and dinner are included but there is no choice offered. Most staff know only Spanish so, if you don't speak the language, it can be difficult to get service. The hotel is in a good location - 5 mins from train and 1 min from main street - and has a pleasant courtyard in which to relax.

The hotel was in a very central location in the small town of Creel. The decoration is very traditional. The room was very clean and roomy. The hotel staff was courteous. It claimed to have wi-fi but it never worked. Breakfast and dinner were part of the package and both were tasty although small portions.

Narrow field of choices for hotels in Creel. This place was small, rooms all surround a lovely outdoor courtyard with tables and garden. We had nice corner rooms, one with full kitchenette. Staff was attentive and responsive. Hotel was full two of the three nights we were there but still quiet and the provided meals were tasty and adequately portioned. Kitchen staff managed to feed 50 to 60 people twice a day with hot food very quickly. A great bargain for the price with meals included. The arranged tour from the hotel, while guide only spoke Spanish, was relaxed and very informative and fun. Free transportation to and from the train.

Creel's Plaza Margarita

Our party of six stayed two nights in three rooms. On arrival we were given keys to the rooms all at the same charge. One of the rooms however was different in that it was on the second floor with more light and much larger than the others. It had a sitting area, small fridge, and a large bed. The other two rooms were small in comparison and relatively dark on the first floor. The beds were extremely comfortable and the hotel provided warm extra blankets as the evenings approached freezing.

As part of our stay breakfast and dinner were provided as part of the booking. With tour groups travelling through the community all the hotels had the practice of including set meals.

Staff were very helpful and accommodating.

Pretty little hotel. Like all hotels in creel within 5 min walk of train/bus station. Rooms are warm and showers are hot, a must for the cold creel weather. Breakfast is good. Dinner is a bit light on the quantity and we were left feeling hungry so we ate again at a local restaurant a couple of nights. Staff is very friendly. Overall if you visit creel this hotel is a good option. Please note that a dirty canal runs on one side of hotel so get rooms on the other side.

This hotels main advantage is the price. The reception staff is really nice and they gave us very good advice on where to go and showed us around a bit. There is nothing to do in the hotel though which makes the evenings kinda boring so bring your own drinks and entertainment.

We had a great time, the hotel rooms are cozy and clean, we could get heat turned on at night when necessary. Local desayunos, good fare. Having Spanish is helpful, but optional. Carry low denominations while sightseeing for the small tourist displays (and carry an extra bag for stuff you find on the way home.)

Wonderful stay in a remote part of Mexico. Staff friendly and helpful. Meals provided in colorful dining room which encouraged meeting fellow travellers. Rooms were large and comfortable. Weather was cold in Creel but rooms have heating although you might have to remind staff to put it on. Tours to the canyon and other surrounding areas available right at the hotel and at a reasonable if not cheaper price than other tour guides. Loved our stay there. In fact, stayed an extra night.

Pésimo hotel

El hotel con una pésima administración, ya que según la información, confirmada y pagada en Hoteles.com,la tarifa incluía desayuno y cena. Cuando llegamos no hubo quien nos atendiera, tuvimos que hablar al teléfono del hotel, después de más de quince minutos llegó una persona que nos entregó la llave de la habitación, sin solicitar registro.
Cuando llegó la hora de la cena nos acercamos al comedor y estaba cerrado, hablamos nuevamente por teléfono, porque no había nadie en recepción, nos contestaron que no estaban sirviendo ningún alimento. Hablamos a Hoteles.com y después de que hablaron con el hotel, nos comentaron que efectivamente el hotel no serviría ningún alimento, pero que les enviáramos los cargos por los desayunos y las cenas a un mail que nos proporcionaron, les enviamos dichos comprobantes desde el 27 de agosto y hasta este momento no he recibido ninguna respuesta de Hoteles.com

Es un hotel viejo, con habitaciones incómodas, frías, la mia sin calefacción , sin cobijas extra, sabanas usadas, personal incompetente, indolente, agua de regadera fría, desayuno malo también, abren tarde, no a las 7 am como anuncian.Tal vez esta sea mi peor experiencia como huesped en un hotel.Me cambié a la mañana siguiente. La dueña del hotel tiene dos hoteles. Estuve 2 noches. La primera no me respeto la reserva en el hotel y me mando a su otro hotel de menor categoría y ese hotel (Casa Margarita) estaba terrible. Pésimo mantenimiento y limpieza.
La segunda noche me cambiaron al alojamiento que yo había reservado. Este cuarto su cumplió con mis expectativas.
La comida que te incluyen bastante básica, un solo platillo preparado para todos por igual.

Está frente a la plaza principal, pero camas sucias, las cobijas manchadas con suciedad y con olor a humano. Las fundas de las almohadas con cabellos y grasa del cabello, con mal olor, en recepción no hay personal solo una puerta donde duerme el personal y dice no tocar y siempre está cerrado el hotel no tiene por fuera alguna señal con el nombre por fuera no parece hotel. Nos dieron una habitación diferente a la reservada.

Es un hotel sencillo, muy limpio y decorado estilo muy mexicano. Por el precio que pagamos esperábamos menos. El desayuno es muy rico y la chica que nos sirvió tiene muy bonita actitud de servicio a pesar de que estaba sola y con el restaurante lleno. Seguramente volveremos a hospedarnos allí.

Hotel bonito, con habitaciones muy cómodas con decoración rústica, en general, el hotel está muy bien, sin embargo, tuvimos problemas a la hora de hacer el check-in ya que no estaban ni enterados de nuestra llegada y fue un problema que nos respetaran la reservación, posteriormente, los problemas fueron con el desayuno y la cena que vienen incluidos, ya que no tienen una opción de menú para los niños y los grupos que vienen con algúna agencia de viajes tienen preferencia y los demás huéspedes tienen que esperar a que ellos terminen para poder comer.

Contratamos por internet se nos cumplió lo ofrecido. Me gustaría un esfuerzo por mejorar las instalaciones (que no son malas) pero un tapete no estaría mal por ser una ciudad de clima templado. No tiene closet.
El personal es atento y amable. Los guías que nos consiguieron fueron pacientes y conocedores

Mal cambo de hotel si estaba pagado 4 meses antes

Un día antes el Hotel Plaza MexicanaMargarita nos cambió de hotel, la molestia es que estaba pagada la reservación desde hace poco mas de cuatro meses, y esto lo hizo porque llegó un tour, muy mal que nos cambiaran a un hotel que nos dió cuartos aun incompletos, lo único que hay que reconocer, es que repetó el hotel que los desayunos y comidas incluidos en el paquete lo respetaron y estaban riquísimos, lo malo, es que teníamos que ir al hotel y nos quedaba como a 5 cuadras del otro hotel donde nos reubicaron.

Al momento de hacer check-in la persona de recepción nos dijo que ya no trabajaban con Hoteles.com y que no nos haría válida la reservación, que mientras nos iba a dar un cuarto pero seguramente nos iban a mover a otro lugar, así que nos hicieron lugar los dos primeros días, pero el tercero, nos dieron opción de irnos a un cuarto que renta una señora en una casa a 2 cuadras del hotel, pero nosotros ya habíamos pagado a través de Hoteles.com, además el cuarto que nos ofrecieron como opción no era de la misma calidad y nos pareció que no correspondía con el precio que pagamos, por lo tanto, decidimos no quedarnos la tercer noche y hacer el check out antes de tiempo, pidiendo la devolución de lo equivalente a lo pagado por la tercera noche.

We had a confirmed booking, expedia had already charged our credit card. When we arrived the condescending manager told us there was no room and we had to leave. Our expedia-confirmation didn't interest him at all. He presented us a mixture of lies that \"the hotel is closed January to March\", \"it's Expedia's fault, happens all the time\", \" we are fully booked, the overbooking is Expedia's fault\". Finally some employee of the hotel referred us to a sister of the owner who rents out private rooms where we stayed. We met other guests there with an identical experience. It turned out one or more large groups had booked at Plaza Marguerita, so many guests with prior bookings were evicted to make space for the more lucrative groups. Prior guest-ratings show thus happens frequently, but we didn't pay attention believing it would not happen to us - but it did! Obviously we didn't see the hotel-rooms and can't say anything about them but since it's obligatory to rate them we had to enter something.

No reconocen resaervaciones por expedia

Realice la reservación con 2 semanas de anticipación y cuando llegue al hotel me dicen que ya tienen todas las habitaciones llenas, que no tenían ninguna reservación a mi nombre y que siempre tienen problemas con las reservaciones por internet, de hecho en ese momento estaban otras personas con el mismo problema, se habló con el gerente del hotel y no resolvieron nada tuve que ir caminando por todo Creel a buscar otro hotel. No lo reserven se ahorraran muchos problemas.

Excelente hotel, las instalaciones son muy cómodas y muy bonitas, el trato es muy personal y acogedor, hacen que te sientas en casa, excelente ubicación y precios muy accesibles para todo lo que incluyen.

Solamente muy mala atención , no hay recepcionista , no hay nadie ocupado de la atención de los huéspedes , se hechamos la bolita uno al otro , no seriedad , nada pero nada de atención , realizan reservaciones en línea no respetan reservación , te acomodan donde les place fuera del hotel .

Mala experiencia

Reservamos en el Hotel Plaza Margaritas y al llegar no nos dieron habitacion ahi, alegando que tanto hotels.com como expedia no envian ni reservaciones ni pago que se haga con ellos. Nos enviaron a otro hotel de ellos que deja mucho que desear, aunque sus habitaciones si son nuevas y comodas, pero no era el tipo de hotel que habiamos reservado, estaba en un callejon feo y obscuro. En la noche llego un autobus completo para el cual si tuvieron habitaciones....nos molestó mucho, ya que de los 5 hoteles que reservamos para nuestro viaje x el Chepe, fue el único que pidio el pago adelantado y no cumplió con lo ofrecido.

estancia placentera pero con gran disgusto al llegar por que te acomodan en otro de sus hoteles de menor calidad a la que tú adquiriste argumentando que hoteles no hizo la reserva, y todavía si te dejas, con un cargo extra

aun con reservaciones, no habia habitaciones

Al llegar inmediatamente nos dijeron que el hotel estaba lleno y nos iban a dar habitaciones en otro hotel de ellos pero teniamos que pagar la diferencia, lo cual obviamente no aceptamos; el hotel estaba en un callejón obscuro y horrible sin embargo las habitaciones si estaban muy bonitas y confortables, pero no era lo que habiamos pagado... el único hotel de nuestro viaje que pidió el pago adelantado y no cumplió con lo que ofrecian....su excusa fue que Expedia no les enviaba ni reservaciones ni pago

Está bonito, pero... la comida no.

Hice la reservación con anticipación y a la llegada no me tenían registrada. Tuve que buscar un lugar con internet para comprobar el pago que habia hecho porque me cobraron al llegar, ya que el que está en la recepción es un hombre que no sabe utilizar el internet.

No respetaron mi reservación

Contrate con expedia desde junio 2017 siendo mi reservación para el 15 de septimbre de 2017, no habia personal en recepción, una persona que me atendió dijo que Expedia no habia reportado mi pago y por consiguiente no tenian mis habitaciones, Todo en Creel estaba lleno y me enviaron a otro hotel de la misma dueña que no tenia agua caliente, estaba en remodelación, y nunca hubo alguien que me diera la cara ante esta situación.

Hoteles.com no pasó la informacion correcta al hotel. Yo reservé dos habitaciones y solo tenían una habitación. Me hospedaron en un anexo del hotel.
El hotel no tiene orden para entrar a desayunar estuvimos una hora esperando poder tomar el desayuno incluido y no fue posible. Tuvimos que ir a comer fuera del hotel.

Buena ubicación, atención por parte del personal, eficiente y amable, instalaciones adecuadas y funcionales, salvo que no cuentan con aire acondicionado o ventilador de techo, regularmente es un clima templado en verano, pero para esos días en extremo calurosos, se agradecería es ventilador o aire.
Pero definitivamente me volvería a hospedar y lo recomiendo

Para bañarse hay que avisar para que prendan el calentador y esperar un tiempo. No nos avisaron que no se debe poner el seguro de la habitación cuando sales ya que se queda atorada la puerta. Los costos de los tours son caros respecto a otros proveedores. La mesera y el velador mala actitud.

Hotel en el Centro de Creel

Excelente servicio y comida en el restaurante del hotel, pero mal servicio por parte de recepción. Nosotros reservamos en el Hotel Plaza Magaritas y llegando allá nos dimos cuenta que hay un segundo hotel de ellos mismos llamado Casa Maragaritas, mismo en el que nos habían considerado para nuestra estancia porque el primero ya esta lleno. Esta bien el hotel, pero no es el de las fotos.

Al siguiente día ya nos querían regresar al primer hotel porque necesitaban acomodar a un grupo que visitantes por lo que obviamente no accedimos a éste cambio.

P.D. Si necesitas factura, no reserves por este medio, mejor llama directamente al hotel ya que expedia no factura en México.

Gran experiencia en Creel

Desde que llegue en el tren CHEPE, ya estaba una camioneta a recogernos, cargaron las maletas, nos recomendaron el tour que tienen disponible en el hotel, gran ambiente de otras familias que conocimos ahi, Creel espectacular. La cena y el desayuno gratis que ofrecen super casero, sabroso, suficiente. En fin no dudaría en volver a esta ciudad y quedarme en este mismo hotel

Hotel muy céntrico.

La estancia fue muy cómoda, personal agradable y atento, limpieza muy buena. Al incluir el desayuno y la cena dan un extra que es bueno. Todo está cerca y en el mismo hotel se ofrecen recorridos turísticos para aprovechar más la zona a un costo razonable. Si vas a Creel, es una de tus mejores opciones.
